What a shame this is the review I wrote when we attended the Christmas experience in 2023 - We came this evening with 9 children from the ages of 11 months old to 12 years old and each and everyone of them thoroughly enjoyed it. The work that has gone in To make the experience special is so obvious and appreciated. Thank you for going the extra mile; this was truly the best Santa experience we have had. The team all work so hard to make it magical and they are a credit to the farm. Thank you What a massive difference for 2024 - Last year we went to the Santa grotto experience (gifted by our mum paying a lot of money for 4 adults and 9 children) and it was amazing. Every single detail I couldn’t fault and we were so thankful to the team and our mum for treating us to this. My mum decided to pay for us all again and herself and my step dad to come as well as we had gone on about how amazing it was and how much she would love it. To say we were hugely disappointed is an understatement. The elf work shop was poor compared to last year - last year was like a panto and funny for everyone. This year it was rushed. The sorting office was awful. Last year they played games; this year it was like a holding area until we could get in the next room. Kids had hot chocolate last year and a lovely story read to them. No hot chocolates and a terrible discombobulated story being told by the least convincing mrs clause (who was desperate to go home that she was seen changing and leaving in front of the kids). Marshmellows was a nice touch. Being left to wait in a queue in the cold for 30 mins to see Santa was awful. Last year we all went into a room together and were entertained by the amazing American elf. Santa was lovely and it was great. This year when we finally made it in, Santa immediately said we would have to hurry coz there was a queue. He didn’t ask the children anything or interact with them properly just gave them a coin. It felt like a money maker or getting a picture for us to purchase. Last year I wanted to purchase a picture and had every intention of buying another. I didn’t out of principle. My poor mum was left in tears feeling like she had wasted her money and it was disappointing for us all. In all truthfulness, it was and she did waste her money. Whatever changes you made from the year before have really not had the intended outcome and it is such a shame.

We did the Santa experience and were disappointed! The initial toy shop was brilliant and the snow and singing reindeer but then it just went downhill. You wait around for ages in the post room clearly trying to delay us from entering the next room but it was just a free for all no idea what we were doing, passport didn't get stamped, then Mrs Clause was the rudest person that would want to do a christmas experience. Microphone was too echoey, very sharp and blunt.. didn't get offered a drink like was offered, then the marshmallow and reindeer food station was badly organised..just a swarm of people trying to get to the same place and finally santa who again was grumpy and very rushed... for the price you pay I expected a nicer relaxed experience with a smaller group of people but it seemed they crammed as many people as possible in.. much better doing a cheaper experience elsewhere

We went to the Christmas grotto. The experience itself was pretty amazing. There was a lot of really cute activities and it is well thought out. The only negative (although not necessarily a big negative) was that Santa didn't seem to be super SEND friendly even though we were on the SEND only booking. However, having said that everything else was really good and this didn't ruin our experience. It was also good value for money and the gift from Santa was the best we've had.

We had absolutely amazing time. It was trully magical. Our daughter loved singing raindeers and then later on the real ones too. Its definitely worth the money, I would only say Mrs Claus could be a bit more softer and talking slower, take her time to tell a story as that part felt a bit rushed through, other than tjat it was all hreat. Santa Claus wad absolutely amazing and true Santa!

Didn't even get to see father Christmas as he was so distressed, but had we ignored the rules like everyone else in the group and just brought our pram in we would've been fine! Terrible customer service nowhere near as good as last year, definitely won't be returning next year

Fabulous experience for the children and worth the child entrance fee. Adult entrance is very expensive for a shortbread biscuit and half a cup of mulled wine. Not even a cup of tea option instead! It’s for the children but they can’t go in alone so an expensive family day out despite reasonable child fee. Would be 5* with a reduced adult fee

We had a magical day stepping into the North Pole at Reddish Farm! From making our own special toy 🛠️, baking cookies with Mrs. Claus 🍪, and playing with elves 🎉, roasting marshmallows 🔥 and meeting Santa 🎅, every moment was full of festive fun. The decorations were stunning and truly captured the holiday spirit ✨, though we wished the actors had a little more Christmas cheer to match the magic. Still, it was a day to remember and a beautiful way to celebrate the season! 🎄🎁

Visited yesterday as part of the SEN session, for the most the experience was magical. The lights, the decorations, the elves, the details! Mrs Claus wasn’t very festive or interesting, she struggled to keep anyone’s attention. Seeing Santa was rushed and we were in the room for a total of about 1 minute, which was disappointing as because it was the SEN session I thought the children would be given a chance to warm to Santa, if needed, and get the confidence to speak to him. Then as we were buying our Santa photo, Mrs Claus walked past half dressed in costume! Prompting questions from my son. It was amazing for the most part (96%) just feel like they could make a few tweaks to get it right up there

We attended the Christmas experience yesterday and, while there were some notable improvements, I regret to say it didn’t quite live up to the high standards of previous years, which we’ve thoroughly enjoyed in the past. Positives: - The flow between sections has improved, with a much smoother and more organised momentum. - The selection of toys this year is significantly better than in previous years—well done on this! - Overall, the staff were friendly and welcoming, adding a positive vibe to the experience. Negatives: - Mrs Claus: Unfortunately, the new person in this role struggled to hold anyone’s attention and lacked the warmth and charm of the previous lady, who was fantastic. This really affected the magic of the experience. - The mulled wine felt watered down and lacked the festive touch we were hoping for. - Transition from the workshop to the elf’s house: An elderly lady was made to crawl through the small doors, which caused her visible distress and left her in tears due to the pain. This was upsetting to witness and needs rethinking to accommodate all guests. - Santa’s interaction with the children was disappointing. He lacked rapport-building skills, seemed disengaged, and failed to create the magical moment that is so central to the experience. Sadly, this left my children feeling underwhelmed.

Very disappointed with my visit to my children’s favourite farm. The Santa experience part was very rushed and impersonal. The elves at the entrance to Santa spoke to the family in front for over 5 minutes and scanned to see who was on the good list or naughty list. Had fun with parents and children. We were last in our group and didn’t get scanned or spoken too for very long. The elf came out to call us and they just rushed us through without chatting and interacting with us. My daughter asked why she wasn’t scanned and is she on the nice list. So went through to Santa and it was like pulling teeth talking to him. My children aren’t shy but he asked closed questions that only had yes/no answers. Got my daughter’s name wrong after asking and I corrected him twice. Weren’t in very long as he wasn’t a warm Santa, didn’t have much presence. It was not a magical experience talking to the big man, it was very awkward. Ssnta was in the first room. Then we went through to get toys and the choice was poor. The toys weren’t age appropriate for over 8 years I didn’t think. My daughter who’s 12 came and I paid for her (as my youngest is 8 so still believes) and there was nothing appropriate for her age. She ended up with a toy age 6+ as the eldest option which she doesn’t even want. Even my 8 yr old (almost 9) was disappointed with the choices and picked something for the sake of it. No cuddly toys as an option which are more universal in age. The games were aimed at younger children. For the price I will stick to the main rival as Cockfields farm is so much better. My children even left saying they prefer Cockfields and that Santa wasn’t friendly. Really disappointing experience which tainted the good things done first. The toy making was good, elf post office is aimed at under 6 yrs I would say. The marshmallows were good. Won’t be coming for Christmas again which is a shame as other events such as Halloween are fun.

We went to the Santa experience here today and it was brilliant, our 3 kids 7, 6 and 1 thought it was wonderful. Well worth the money. We paid etc for the invitation letter which our elves delivered the day before. My eldest is getting to the age where she sees holes in the whole Santa thing. The letter has the official north pole seal on it, so she decided that this was definitely going to be the real Santa and not a fake. The whole experience solidified her belief again. Everything was perfect from arriving at passport control, where the elf on duty seemingly knew all about my children! Highly recommend. We came two years ago too and it was brilliant then but they've really finessed it now and added extra bits like toasting marshmallows.

Really good fun for little ones. We visited with our grandson for the Christmas Polar experience. It was a really well thought out afternoon. Children get to make a cuddly toy in the elves workshop, write a letter to Santa at the post office, decorate gingerbread in Mrs Clause's kitchen, meet real reindeer and make a bag of reindeer before getting to meet Santa himself. Have to say he was a very good Santa - convincing and no fake beard. It really is worth the cost of tickets and better than others we have visited in previous years. A strong 9/10 for us.

We went in a big family group to the Moonlight Pumpkin Picking. It was really good and well work the ticket price. Also, by the time the queue had gone down for fresh donuts they had ran out of batter which was disappointing 😞 The kids loved it and the adults enjoyed having drinks at the Reddish Vale Inn 😀 We are looking at booking one of the Christmas events and will definitely be back next Halloween! The girls who worked in the food van near the play area could have had a personality transplant and one of the girls who was looking after the horses for grooming by the kids was very rude, she saw me and my niece stood there for 5 minutes, didnt even look at us and then started shouting at someone else who works with horses if she should put the coats on the horses now. My daughter loved her visit today for her spooky birthday treat. The magic show was a sweet touch. The farm is lovely with so much for the kids to do. But her favourite activity was feeding the cows and goats.

One of the worst places to go pumpkin picking ever. It cost us £36 for 2 grown ups and one 4 year old to go pumpkin picking at this "farm". You feed the animals and then you're supposed to wash your hands with warm water but the water flowing from their taps is ice cold. The hand soap was fairy liquid, by the looks of it. Given how many children visit, the lack of warm water and proper soap is a serious health risk. When you ask the staff they direct you to another set of sinks and then run away from you. Then came the real fun bit; the pumpkin "picking". It's not like these clowns grow the pumpkins unlike some authentic places. They buy from a place called pumpkins are us and then spread them around on a piece of land. Then they say you're only allowed one pumpkin, despite there being three of us. We were pretty disappointed with this place and don't recommend this to anyone at all. There are better farms to go pumpkin picking with much better experiences.

Our first time with granddaughter yesterday. It was brilliant! Plenty of animals to see and feed our favourites were the Pygmy goats. The indoor and outdoor play areas were great for most ages of children. The tractor trailer ride was an extra at £2 but worth it for the fun. Lots to do for a day out. Food was reasonably priced too. Will definitely return.

So much more then just a farm With outdoor and indoor play areas make it a full day out so much to do throughout the entire day And fantastic extras like tractor rides and sand pit just give that wow factor Loved that you could pet the animals and feed them carrots which you can purchase when there Definitely recommend this to anyone thinking of going !

Great place to visit with kids. The play area has grown since our last visit so a lot of the climbing frames etc are new. There's so much to do and things like the tractor ride are fantastic. The animals are lovely and obviously well cared for and the staff are very friendly. Will be back soon!

Lovely place, surprisingly big! Absolutely loads to do there for children. Visited with my 1 year old, he enjoyed seeing the animals, riding the tractor ride, the soft play, the foam party, the bouncers, sand pit, great day out! Changing facilities and high chairs for babies. Definitely recommend. Even though it was busy, the place is large enough that it didn't feel over crowded.

Amazing Family Day Out at Reddish Vale Farm !!! It was an absolute delight! It's just a short 25-minute drive from Manchester city centre. Our child especially loved feeding the goats, sheep, and meeting the friendly bunny! The farm animals are well looked after, and the experience was very hands-on, which was fantastic for the kids. We also enjoyed the tractor ride, which gave us a nice tour of the farm. The children's play area is perfect for letting the little ones burn off some energy. It’s a wonderful place to spend a weekend, and we will definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommended for families with young children.

It is not what I would call a farm. There's not many animals. It is more a big enclosed play area for children.

Visited here with my wife and 2 grandchildren aged 3 and 5 during the school holidays and we had a very enjoyable 4 hour visit. Great fun feeding all the animals plus good indoor and outdoor play areas. The place was kept very clean despite the large number of guests and I thought that the staff were all friendly and helpful. A great day out for the family and easy to book online.

Fantastic farm and park experience for the kids. We have been 3 times within the last 4 weeks as the kids love it so much. The farm animal interactions are fantastic and the adventure playground is perfect to keep the kids entertained for hours on end. Reasonable pricing makes RVF a fantastic day.

My family and I had an Xmas celebration and get together at the Navigation 27/12/2024. Stacey the landlady allowed us to use the upstairs function room. It was perfect for us. Thank-you so much to Stacey for being so obliging as she had been on a previous occasion

I called in as I was walking past the other day, to be honest the outside looks a little depressive but I gave it a chance (I believe its been bought out and the new owner is going to do a refurb) so look forward to seeing that, anyway I had a chicken salad with real chicken slices not that thin stuff, it was lovely!! I highly recommend giving it a try, the full breakfasts looked amazing!!
