Hubbox in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Went for early dinner with my Son and after having really bad service in the past, was pleasantly surprised at the service and the food. Our food was on the table within 15mins of us ordering and our drinks which were ordered first, were prepared by the waiter that took the order and came right back to us. The burgers were amazing and the dirty fries with garlic and parmesan were so good, if we had room we would have ordered another portion. Will be returning very soon.

Had a really great meal after a bit of a disappointment on the last visit, they certainly changed mine and my families mind. Ethan served us and made our evening really special. Thank you.

For the amount of times we eat at Hubbox, we dont leave any reviews, and thats not fair! It's very easy to take their great food and service for granted... but not tonight! 9 of us ate for an end of season team meal, and it really was the best. I had the Honey C... why on earth I haven't discovered this before now, is beyond me. It's simple, and delicious! The sweet potato fries came out hot and crispy, and were top drawer chippies! Literally everyone commented that their food was amazing. Not one complaint. Chefs... thank you, best burgers EVER 👌😍 Front of house guys, Ethan and Cal, your friendliness, humour and spark make us feel so welcome and you are all, such a big part of our lives through the summer!! Thank you for a lovely evening 🙏 Lowri is such a natural, it's like she's welcoming you in to her home. We've seen her do every single role possible within Hubbox, and as well as an incredible host, she's a phenomenal asset to Pentewan Hubbox. So, for the 100's of other meals and drinks we've had and especially for tonight's A-Mazin food and service, I'm leaving our biggest gratitude and love for all of the Pentewan Hub family. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Toni x

We’re have just had the most incredible dinner sat looking at the sea and the beach. I honestly feel like I’m in America! We had a Double smashed bacon and cheese burger with fries and I had the Honey C burger. Oh my goodness it was fantastic. The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The candied jalapeños on my crispy chicken was a total revelation. I need them on EVERYTHING now. To make the whole experience perfect was Kayla who served us. She’s an absolute credit to Hubbox as she is SO friendly and polite to all of her customers This place is an absolute find and we will DEFINITELY be coming back again (and again and again😜) Thank you for a fabulous meal .

Popped in on fathers day expecting to be turned away but the staff could not have been more helpful, we were given a table and not we need it by issues...with the bonus of a fee pint for Fathers! Went for a Beef burger and Chicken burger, have to say the chicken burger was nice but the beef burger was one of the best we have ever had (glad we did 1/2 & 1/2 ) to top it off the Garlic oil and parmesan chips were fantastic also. All the staff were very friendly and engaging and its location and view of the beach mad it a perfect place to have food or a drink. All in All, if your in the area cannot recommend this place enough.... we will be back !

Oh I love this place, the food is lush, service is excellent and I love love love the raspberry lemonade with vodka in. Right on the beach so very handy for snacks and drinks while having a beach day. Wouldn't hesitate to come here again.

Needed a table for 13 and the restaurant was able to accommodate us at short notice. Our servers could not have been more helpful with explaining the menu and ensuring that we knew what could be made vegetarian/ gluten free as required. They then made sure to take the GF orders first so as not to make any mistakes. The food Itself was delicious and the portions are generous. Lots of choice too. We definitely needed our walk on the beach afterwards. Beautiful setting and I would 100% recommend this restaurant for a casual, relaxed meal.

Went to hubbox and didn’t have a burger, outrageous I know! We picked a few different things from the menu so we could share, we had loaded fries, onion rings, chicken tenders and mac & cheese. All of them were great but the tenders were a stand out. It was quiet as it was a weekday and relatively early, but we were really impressed (we have always enjoyed it here before but today was even better). Fab food, nice staff and a lovely view. We will be back again soon!

A brilliant meal with excellent service throughout. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. The choice of burgers was vast and there is something for everyone. The views onto the beach are lovely and it’s made us want to come back when it’s warmer! Would definitely recommend and come back if we’re in the area. Thank you for a fab evening.

I hadn’t visited here for a couple of years (see my previous review). I’d previously visited during the summer and found the service to be poor and portion sizes really small. However, we visited two weekends ago and were so pleasantly surprised. The service was great and the food was even better. The portion sizes you would expect when ordering a burger and chips - even the kids portion was good. If only this was reflected during the summer months! It’s not a reflection on hub box, but it is such a shame that pentewan sands still charge for parking during the winter months. It would encourage far more locals to visit hub box and the seahorse if parking costs were either lowered or removed during the winter ‘locals’ months

We do love visiting Hub Box Pentewan so it is mostly positive. Main complaint now though is the automatic inclusion of a service charge for 4 or more people. I find Service Charges ridiculous, how else are we to get our food? We come to a restaurant to be served food, and we are already paying a premium for restaurant served food. I found it odd when it gets added on for tables of say 6 or 8, but now 4, seriously not good. Yes, they say it can be removed if we ask, but no, you should not be adding it automatically.

Visited today with a friend, it’s always our go to place for food and a catch up as the food, location and staff is always amazing. Ethan, who we’ve got to know over our visits looked after us as always, very attentive and helpful…even moved us to the prime window seats as soon as it became available….always an extra bonus! He’s an asset to the Hub Box Team! MC fries delicious as always. We will be back V soon.

We visited for a family meal on a day out to Cornwall, having used this chain before locally. We weren't greeted, eventually sat at a dirty table, waited an age to be served, although could see they were fairly busy so waited patiently. Order was taken and the drinks arrived, we weren't given any option for drink sizes yet the server decides to give 2 of the 3 of us having draught soft drinks a pint (at nearly double the cost) without asking. Food arrives, side dishes of fries and waffle fries and one kids meal is cold. 3 burger buns are dripping in grease. Cold nachos with no salsa or cheese, appeared to be a cold bread sauce sat in the bottom of the dish, we dug around for the missing ingredients but nothing there so didn't eat them. We waited for a server to come over at some point but they never checked on us or our food, eventually called someone over and pointed out the missing salsa. Ethan G then appeared with some more guacamole and said there was no salsa, we said we didn't want it or the dish. Finished our meal, sat with dirty plates in a now empty (us and one other table) restaurant for a while, in the end got up and went to the front door to pay, got presented with a bill that had the nachos on. I pointed out that the dish was still on my bill, Ethan G then got very animated and argumentative while saying multiple times 'it's only a bit of tomato and onion' - I pointed out that we wouldn't have ordered the dish if we had known it was missing ingredients, he barked 'well did you eat it' no we didn't, its on the table have a look. We then got told 'nothing else was missing' to which I pointed out that the salsa was and we didn't want the dish with missing ingredients. I'm frankly appalled at the service, rudeness and attitude of Ethan G, he is a stain on your companies otherwise good reputation. My 11 year old daughter even asked why that boy kept rolling his eyes at me while i was talking. As someone with decades of experienece in restaurant/hospitality management, including staff recruitment, training and specifically new restaurant openings around the UK, I would suggest some severe retraining for this individual or possibly transition to a non customer facing role would suit his attitude and temperament. What was supposed to be a nice family meal overlooking the beautiful beach turned into a very poor experience for us all, predominantly down to a single member of staff.

We visited here for breakfast and I must say both of our breakfasts were very good. I had the pancakes and my partner a muffin. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. The only thing that let it down slightly was that it wasn’t very clean.
