Regularly visit Hotel Chocolat in Carlisle whenever visiting, staff are always really friendly and products are really good. One of the better cafés in Carlisle City Centre, and never too busy either so that you can relax inside. Staff members are really friendly and happy to start a conversation - very knowledgeable about the products and happy to answer questions. The chocolate itself is some of the best I’ve experienced, as with other Hotel Chocolat stores throughout the country. Highly recommend at all times of year, and prices are very reasonable too.

This little shop used to be a delight, but no more. I know some of the staff are moving on due to changes in this shop, and I am really sad about that as they really did make the place what it was..an absolute gem. But today I witnessed the new look, and quite frankly..you can shove it. I popped in for my weekly treat to find none of the usual staff, just 2 people stood at the counter gossiping (for all to hear)about staff. I'm not sure what one is the manager and what one is the staff member, but neither knew how to make my drink and served me warm hot chocolate sludge. No presentations no warm welcome. Hotel Chocolat need to remember that your customers come because of the complete package, and good chocolate is not enough to get us through the door, we can buy that online. I will definitely be taking my money elsewhere.

Called in here while looking around Rugby for a meal and was not impressed. The food was not very appetising and the service was mediocre. The food was also overpriced for the quality. The place itself needs a makeover. Not considered value for money.

Take Notice.. Burgers were possibly smaller than McDonald's, thin and tasted plain. Handful of chips. Coffee, tried all types and all tasted horrid. Never again. Will return for beer but not food..

I've been here a few times now and the service is spot on. They are welcoming, accommodating to dietary needs and clearly want you to have a good time. The food is good. It's not the 'best' but you're not paying for the best either... The food however is always good - tasty and cooked well. It's a really save bet and you're guaranteed to have a great time.
