Many town centres now have one or both gourmet burger chains. This place is an excellent alternative situated next door to one of those chains. Having looked at both menus, I chose Hot Pink as I wanted to see if it was as good as last time we went with friends. It was definitely the right decision and we've just had an amazing lunch. I opted for Brett's burger which is a summer special and I can only hope it becomes a permanent feature on their menu. If you've not been to Hot Pink before, they advertise it as a healthy grill. If that was a healthy burger, it certainly had all the flavour of an unhealthy one, it was excellent. Great service throughout the meal too so well worthy of the excellent rating. We'll be back soon.

Went here for a birthday meal. Found the staff and service to not be that great. First waitress was nice enough but came to the table to check on our order with her coat on as she was leaving as our starters had arrived before our drinks, and the second waitress wasn't great and brought our bill before we had even asked for it.A vegan in our party had to have sides as a main including something advertised as rice and lentils but was in fact undercooked rice with no lentils. For some unknown reason their falafel had egg in it. Weirdly the falafel burger was advertised on their lunch menu on their website as vegan but not on the dinner menu - management should amend this as it is very misleading. Might be better not to label anything as vegan rather than mislabel.Rest of the party had chicken wings to start and although the portion sizes were really good the wings were fatty and tasted as if they had been cooked earlier on and reheated. Some main courses arrived cold and rice was quite undercooked. All in all was not the best experience and wouldn't come again. Optional service charge was added to the bill which is fair enough had service been up to scratch.

I took my daughters here for lunch on Saturday while my wife was getting her hair done. It was a treat as they had worked hard at school and I didn't want to cook lunch. It started well with the waitress making sure we didn't order too much of the bread as a side as she told us they were large portions and she didn't want us to waste our money. What a breath of fresh air.My daughter then had all of the chicken from one of her two skewers end up on the floor as she clumsily tried to strip it off the stick and lost control!! She was close to tears when another waitress stopped and said they would cook her another one, she cleaned up and said it would take seven or eight minutes and she would bring it over. This relieved the tension immediately. They did bring another fresh skewer as promised.Something else happened where a third waitress offered superb service too. I have never experienced that before, three exceptional waitresses. The food was good and they let you customise the dishes to your hearts content. Not too expensive and we will definitely go back - a heartwarming experience.

The food was nice, however you have to order all the parts of the meal separately, and it adds up to be very overpriced for what you end up with. I paid £5.50 for a sausage, without any extras which was pretty ridiculous, and then had to pay £4 for a tiny cup of chips. So paid almost £10 for a sausage and some chips and left still hungry and feeling extremely ripped off. Won't be returning unless the prices change to match the quality and quantity of what you recieve.

Good casual atmosphere, prompt service, great food.Despite it being reasonably full with children, it was very quiet in our booth and we didn't hear anyone else which was lovely. There was just one chef in the open kitchen on a sunday and he was working his butt off, he looked terribly rushed and we worried our food would be poor but this wasn't the case at all! it came out within 15 mins and was cooked to perfection.I had the fish finger sandwich, fish was perfectly cooked with large white flakes of cod. Partner who had the chicken burger said his was equally good and he's a somewhat picky eater. Coleslaw was amazing! My partner and I were travelling back on a Sat evening after a long day up in the big smoke. Neither of us were feeling overly hungry so the plan was to stop at a Yo Sushi! in Wimbledon on the way through so we could pick and chose how much we wanted to eat. When we found out that there was no Yo Sushi! in Wimbledon, we had to consider other options. We fancied something 'different' and so avoided Nandos and Pizza Express and decided to give Hot Pink a try for the first time having been tempted in by a funky looking menu. We were led through the restaurant - a kind of American diner theme - to the back of the building, but upon being seated in a very cold, lonely room devoid of atmosphere, we requested to be moved back into the 'main' restaurant and were sat at a table by the entrance which was fine. The waiting staff seemed very energetic and happy. I decided to opt for the starter chicken wings with the recommended 'hot pink sauce' with a side of coleslaw and spinach whilst my partner chose the Greek Salad with chicken. We both also opted for a glass of white wine, even though they were close to the £8 mark which appeared odd as we had just returned from a bar in a rather 'price inflated' Fulham where we had paid £7 per glass! My chicken wings were "healthily" grilled, but unfortunately lacked any flavour, even when coated in the hot pink sauce, which was a kind of piri piri sauce. The coleslaw also lacked any real taste and was not a patch on the coleslaw served across the road in Nandos. The spinach was OK, but is there any way that you could ruin serving wilted spinach. I continued with my meal quietly, knowing that I am not the 'complaining type' as I am more like the type of person who would pass a poor review onto four other people who would pass it onto another six people who would etc etc. My partner on the other hand is full of Baltic blood and I had to use the best of my negotatition skills to stop her causing a scene when she highlighted her extreme disappointment at the very bland Greek Salad that was placed in front of her. She had earlier had a conversation with the keen waiter about whether to opt for the small or larger dish, but upon finding that the small dish was 'too small', chose the large dish. The salad size appeared to be slightly larger than a typical side plate with the large plate appeared to be half filled with a soggy looking Greek salad. The chicken that sat nicely aloft the wilted looking plate appeared to look bland at first site and upon tasting, it tasted as it looked. As my partners Baltic blood appeared to boil over, I decided to make a quick escape to the bathroom to hide having finished as much of the selected dishes as I could. Having read through two of the comic strips upon the cubical door, I thought that she would have gotten her rant out of the way and we xoukd then have continued on our merry way to tell the four people about our disappointing experience. Unfortunately, upon returning to the table after 5-6 minutes, I was surprised to find that our empty dishes still hogging the table. So, I sat next to my partner to finish off our overly expensive wines whilst I showed my partner the 'fight scene' from Monty Pythons 'Holy Grail' for the first time in the hope of improving her mood. When the dishes were finally cleared, upon paying the sprightly waiter asked about our plans for that evening. I thought that the staff had avoided the expected wrath of the other half, but when I saw her approach the member of staff who I had just paid the bill to, I made a dash for it (in a very unmanly way)leaving her to 'let rip' with her Baltic thoughts, whilst I hid round the corner in the rain hoping that ant of our fellow customers would not associated me with the girl who was about to make her thoughts about this disappointing meal known to those in the immediate vicinity. If you want chicken, I'd stick to Nandos, it's literally on the other side of the Broadway.........

I was recently in London to see some friends and I had been told about this place so I decided to check it online, to which I was met by some fantastic reviews. I decided I would give it a try. I was not disappointed. As soon as I walked in I knew it was a meritorious little place, the music, the atmosphere and the staff were all very cool, and very welcoming. I got seated at a booth table and the way the order was taken was friendly and personal. The dark haired Scottish waiter took my order and we began chatting and having a laugh and a joke which was a nice twist on the traditional detached atmosphere you usually get in restaurants. I ordered the burger with bacon and it was delicious, very tasty, rich, sweet, distinctive, everything I like in a burger was in this one. I would highly recommend it. Along with my burger I had sweet potato wedges which were equally as nice and made for a good size side dish. To wash all of that down I had a pint of Hot Pink Lager which I was taken a-back to how nice it was, (usually in-house lager is not very nice) this led to me having another pint. The staff were very courteous and came and asked if my meal was alright and made everything very pleasant. Plus who doesn't like a restaurant that plays Jeff Buckley! All in all it was a very very good meal and the entire atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming, friendly and precise. I highly recommend going in for a bite to eat at lunch or for a full blown dinner, they would both be up to amazing standards if it was anything compared to my meal.I will absolutely be back!

Initially experienced great, friendly customer service from one of the waitresses who was adamant to find us a table, even though it was a busy Friday night. However, that service was unfortunately ruined by the painfully long wait for our food to arrive, which was missing vital parts of our order that we were really looking forward to (e.g. maple-cured bacon). We were then unaware of an extra charge for asking for bbq sauce (which was awful), and had been wrongly overcharged for an extra patty order after re-checking the price on the menu! We then had no choice but to walk up to the front of the restaurant to pay for our meal as we could not bear waiting any longer, where we were met with a rude, disinterested manager (whose name was Maximus.. go figure). Altogether an extremely disappointing experience which has made sure I will not be eating at that restaurant again, and most certainly advise others not to.

A quick review, because I don't want to dignify this establishment with anything wordier .We chose this place over the next door chain for misplaced 'communitarian' reasons, and regretted it. Ordering was slow and chaotic, every veggie dish was reheated, the roast carrots and potatoes were mushy and aged. the corn on the cob was rubbery. then the sea bass arrived and it was a little off, with that faint ammoniac smell coming off it. Not putrescent, just past fresh. Even the milkshake for my daughter tasted faintly cheesy, as if curdled. The chicken wings were passable, at least safe! Really dreadful. I was too exhausted and hassled to make a fuss, to my regret. They should know better. We left off the fish, and other stuff, also because e they had forgotten my order so supplied 1 fish free. Nice of them, except both fish were a little off. The staff were chirpy and trying, but the food quality was so bad there is just no redemption possible.

This is a lovely place tucked amongst the main drag of Wimbledon's restaurants. The menu is nice and varied with lots of healthy options, with the low calorie options clearly marked with their calorie content. I had a falafel burger which came in at under 400 calories - not bed for restaurant food. For starters/nibbles I had the grilled halloumi and the Hot Pink sauce. Perfect. For pud, I shared a chocolate brownie, which has to be one of the most amazing brownies I've ever had. It melted in the mouth and I wish I hadn't done a share now! The tone is set as you walk through the door - rudimentary furniture, loud third-rate music, and a scruffy jar on the bar soliciting tips - although the bill will include an "optional" service charge. But the formula food isn't that bad, and the kitchen seems good at side dishes - lightly cooked spinach and some interesting roast sweet potato wedges. Minimal wine list; service well-meaning but staff overly familiar; and front-of-house disorganised - three different waiters tried to take our drinks order in as many minutes. So not a place for serious eating, but OK if you want somewhere cheapish before the theatre or cinema - but be aware this is not especially fast food. A single course took nearly an hour, so that when we got to the cinema the lights were down and some swine had stolen our booked seats.

If you like your Burgers flame cooked but medium rare (pink inside) as I do, this is a Brill restaurant for you. If you like overcooked, tasteless, instant food, don't come here. You get exactly what it says on the menu - you add your own sides so that you get what you want to eat and not what they want. To some this may appear underdone, but for me it was spot on in a different bun to the usual seeded bap with extra fat free succulent bacon. On the other hand, my wife's chicken was well cooked without being dried-up, she was well impressed. Sides: we ordered sweet potatoes and a large Greek salad to share which just about filled us up even though we had just sat through "Anything Goes" across the road @ Wimbledon Theatre. As we sat there many members of the cast came in and ate, whilst we were thrilled to see the leading lady and her daughter in there too.We were so full we had to share the dough pudding with caramel and ice cream which was great. The secret bonus was the English Tea in those special cafetieres, we had two mugs from the pots each and had it with milk, but you may prefer this aromatic blend with lemon. We will next time. Excellent service of freshly cooked food from kitchen to waiting-on, the place was packed and it was no trouble asking for a carafe of iced water as well.

First the good stuff. Its in Wimbledon's burger alley with a packed GBK beside it and a 5 Guys due to open up a few doors up the street.Service is fast, friendly and efficient. Food is really good but based on my two lads opinion 8/10. Good burger and fries. Decent starter platter but.....A few gripes. If you have 3 people why go portion control and only have 5 wings. Not a problem but given the wings cost SFA from the supplier adding another one wouldn't have hurt the margins too much.Second the price of the shakes. I had a beer. Now around a third of the cost of a pint is tax. So how you can have a pint costing less than the milk, ice cream etc that goes into a shake is just a total rip off. I'm not blaming Hot Pink but all upmarket burger joint owners need to get real on this.I liked it. I'll go again but maybe when my lads can order cheaper beers than more expensive milk shakes. Crazy

Today was our first visit following a quick scan through some positive Trip Advisor reviews. I can happily mirror the view of past visitors of Hot Pink Grill - the service was great. Unfortunately I can't say the food was good. I ordered the Hot Pink Burger with an extra patty, and was told it would be cooked medium/rare - perfect I thought. I had to send the burger back - the patties were cooked to an inch of their life. So overcooked, bone dry, chewy, and seriously lacked any seasoning. Receiving another burger, honestly the patties looked as if the chef had lost his rag and chucked the patties on the grill as they were all over the place. This time one patty was just about rare, and the other medium. I ate what I could of it but didn't enjoy any component of the burger. The other half ordered the Christmas burger - far too sweet with the cranberry mayo/relish, but at it had some taste given the generous amount of bacon it it.The sweet potato wedges had obviously been cooked hours ago - tasted OK, but dry and shriveled. The veg side was again, well overcooked, extremely dry, shriveled, and unseasoned. It's rather frustrating and equally annoying - the items offered on menu are so so simple. It really isn't difficult to add flavour to beef mince, or vegetables, neither is it difficult to cook vegetables or meat correctly.I can confidently say, that on Hot Pink Grill's doorstep there are numerous places that are so so much better.

First healthy eating option we've found in Wimbledon. We chanced upon this for lunch and found the service, food and value excellent. I had a burger which was delicious and cooked exactly as I asked. I chose not to eat the bun because of the calories but my husband ate it and said it was very good, very fresh. I also had a side of roasted vegetables which was just 2 or 3 pounds. They were the best I can remember having anywhere including squash, carrot, beetroot, parsnip and more. These would be a delicious meal on their own. My husband had the Cumberland sausage with lentil rice and he raved over it. The only bugbear was that there was a problem over my glass of wine which I believe was a genuine misunderstanding. When I queried it they took it off the bill without quibble. A sign of high quality and we left a generous tip.

Negatives: service is not great, takes forever to get someone's attention at times - our dinner nearly beat our drinks last time we went. Portion sizes are quite small for the price, although they are sufficient and are probably the size of meal you should eat! The biggest thing that needs sorting out though is the door. We have been several times now in winter and have sat in the front part of the restaurant. As people come and go, the door does not close itself and gets left pushed to. This means everyone in the front part of the restaurant gets to enjoy a freezing cold draft. I would go as far as to say this ruined our last meal and I'm not sure I would go again if I had to sit in the front area. So management....SORT IT OUT! We have been a few times to Hot Pink and it has been the same every time.

Hot Pink Grill is simple yet effective. I ordered steak and my partner ordered seabass off the set menu. Both were tasty and had been cooked well. The customer service was EXCELLENT and the milkshakes were also amazing I'd definitely go back

Had a good meal here. It is what it says in the tin - grill/ dinner. They did a set menu (aimed at the nearby Theatre's customers) but the size of the portions was a little disappointing. Better than its neighbour GBK though, in the sense that Hot Pink do grilled prawns etc. We had a very polite and attentive waiter - tall blonde Scottish lad. Would visit again.

We went back here today after our first experience being pretty bad. Cokey, the manager, invited us back to try his new recipe burger patties and they were much improved. We had a good lunch, which we both enjoyed, but it didn't really knock out socks off, so only 4 star this time. I would go back if we were in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip back.

First visit to HPG today and as a burger lover I was so thrilled I even got a 2nd burger for dessert to go. Using ribeye in a burger is new to me, and you can truly taste the quality of the meat (best cooked a hot pink like the name). Add in delicious sauce, choice of bun, fries, coleslaw and you can't go wrong for about £12. Of the other mains the half chicken had just sold out. I saw the last one of them waiting to be served and I would have ordered that if available. Looked incredible. It's a simple but varied, tasty menu and the atmosphere is relaxed but busy. Nice pints of draft at £4 a pop went down well too.100% to return.

I consider myself quite the burger critic. I've eaten at the best, MEATliqour, Honest, Byron, whatever. Imagine my delight upon moving to Wimbledon earlier this year to find not only a decent diner only minutes from my front door, but one that serves incredibly tasty food! My partner and I are frequent visitors. I of course go for the burger, whilst my other half goes through the huge list of choice for much healthier options. Oh but wait, I want a burger, and I want to eat healthy? Forsake the bun and go lettuce wrapped! Such a simple but awesome idea that I've not seen elsewhere. A grilled chicken burger wrapped in lettuce rather than bread is a protein swilling gym busting mans dream. I'm none of those things, but it was still extremely tasty. Our latest trip, we tried out the Christmas burger. There's no words. Just insanely good. See the picture and judge for yourself. Oh and the sweet potato chips - it's a crime to leave without trying them! We're frequent visitors there now - we have friends visiting at new years, and we've already booked our table in advance!

I wanted to say how grateful I was for the party you put on at Hot Pink for the nursery parents from Holy Trinity Primary School. I cant tell you how many parents since then have stopped me in the playground and said how great they thought Hot Pink was and such good food and the most they had ever seen in comparison to the other parties for parents. So a BIG thank you to you and your team!

Had a burger, medium rare with sauce etc., very good but the fries could have been better. As they were promoted as skin-on I thought they'd be slightly thick but were more like skinny fries you'd find in a fast food chain. The service was very good and attentive, so I would rule out another visit to Hot Pink Grill.

I went to eat in Hot Pink on Saturday for the first time. The food was brilliantly cooked. I had a falafel burger which was very tasty, beer with champagne - very interesting combination and for desert- brownie. The quality of food is great and worth the price.Atmosphere is very nice, nice oldschool deco and professional and friendly service.Highly recommended!

We ate here before going to the theatre and it was by chance - well, by Googling - that I came across Hot Pink Grill. It could have been invented for my boyfriend and me- there are diner-style burgers and fries and milkshakes (his ideal dinner) but also lighter options including fish (my ideal... who am I kidding. I love burgers, but I need to lose weight). And they have cocktails so it's win win all round. The restaurant was directly opposite the theatre too, which was a big plus. It's diner-style in that you order and pay at the counter, but your food is brought over by a waiter. Predictably, my boyfriend ordered the Hot Pink burger (£6.75) - so-called because that's how the patties were cooked, though I ordered his medium as he doesn't like them too rare. Cheese and bacon were added as extras (for another 75p for the cheese and £2 for the bacon) and the burgers also come with a "secret sauce". The fries on offer were either skin-on or curly so he chose curly - why they are a pound more expensive (£4) I'm not sure. He said the burger was tasty and juicy but not as good as Byron, which is one of his favourites. The advantage over Byron however is the breadth of the menu. Hot Pink doesn't have a huge menu but it covers quite a spectrum. It's divided into sections - meat, chicken, fish and non-meat. Rather than the burger take centre stage, it's just one of three things under meat - obviously you can customise it with cheese, bacon, jalapenos, meaning there are technically more menu items - the other two in this secion being a cumberland sausage or steak. The chicjen section offers a chicken burger, marinated chicken skewers or a half chicken, and under non-meat you have a choice of veggie sausage, falafel burger or halloumi and 7-veg stacker (like a multi-layered burger, but without the bun). It's the fish section that is most unusual for somewhere that resembles a burger diner like this. You can have a fish finger roll, which was very tempting, or a salmon steak sprinkled with lime and pepper, or a whole seabass stuffed with rosemary and grilled. It's not often I get the chance to have something like that while my other half is chowing down on a greasy burger and thick milkshake, so I ordered the seabass (£9) and really enjoyed it. I had it with sweet potato wedges (£3) which were so good I wondered why I don't see them on menus more often, and indeed why I don't make them at home. The milkshakes and in particular the alcoholic milkshakes look to die for, and I love the fact that Filtered London Water appears on the menu, free of course, with the message "Sorry we don't believe in selling mineral water as it puts a huge demand on our planet". Great tasting food, with both dirty burger and healthy options, and a social conscience to boot - what's not to like? This is a great little restaurant that I'd definitely use again if I was going to the theatre or shopping in Wimbledon.

I ate here on a Saturday night and managed to get a table for two without booking. I liked the way you can mix and match what you had and the menu offers a lot of flexibility. Although it has a sort of 'health' vibe - with protein and calorie content listed beside some meals it felt a bit half hearted. I would have liked this information for every meal/dish or none at all. I understand why they don't do it for all dishes - because some of the mains would probably shock people with their calories content...but I still feel it should be an all or nothing thing. The food was tasty. I had a vegetarian option which was a halloumi and veg stack. My friend has a burger wrapped in lettuce rather than a bun - another nice option. We both had chips which were good, basic fare. Service was quick and enthusiastic. General atmosphere was buzzing and lively. I haven't given it a higher score as I felt a bit like the place lacked an identity. It seems to be sold as a burger/steak place (name 'hot pink' - how they serve their meat') but they offer lots of different items not just red meat...so then is it a health place? - as it is sold as a 'healthy grill'...not sure how healthy our meals actually were. Decent food and friendly service - I might go there again but probably wouldn't be high up the list. If I fancied a burger I'd go elsewhere and if I was feeling health conscious ... well I probably wouldn't eat out at all! Just wasn't somewhere I fell in love with for the above reasons.

Have to say this place was so disappointing given we wanted a big juicey burger. What we got was cheap, poor quality burgers that tasted like it was full of filler, bad salads and an dodgy plastic cheese slices for an extra pound per burger. Don't understand where the healthy comes into this either. Ethically sourced and healthy are two completely different things! Nothing healthy about the quality of this food. Won't be back and would not recommend.

Hot Pink Grill is my favourite place to eat out in London - I eat here regularly and I am always spoilt for choice. The chicken burger is my current favourite but I also love the fish finger sandwich and halloumi veg stacker. My husband's favourites are the burger and the steak. The sides are great and there are plenty of healthy options. Having a particularly sweet tooth desserts are always the first place I look on a menu and you won't be disappointed here. The chocolate brownie and the sticky toffee cookie are both delicious. The milkshakes are incredible (especially the chocolate!). The atmosphere is great and the service always good - cheerful and helpful staff. It's a great place for a relaxed lunch or dinner. It was the obvious choice for my birthday lunch last weekend - we were a group of 21 and everyone enjoyed their food. The service was excellent and we weren't rushed at all. I highly recommend a visit!

My wife and I thought we'd take the kids here for a treat. The person who served us was very nice, but the quality was really poor. The kids didn't seem too keen on their burgers and when I took a bite, the meat was as tough as rubber. I know they were just kids burgers, but still the quality should have been better. The grilled vegetable haloumi stack wasn't any better. The cheese was tasteless (what there was of it) and the vegetable tasted burnt. The falafel burger tasted ok, but only had what looked like two very small falafel balls in the bun. This isn't at all like the good experience we had about a year or so ago, - we were told that they'd changed the set-up but afraid will not be returning.

Very welcoming, with cheerful and friendly staff. Great value pre-theatre menu. We found the burgers & fish fingers (actually pieces of real breaded fish) in a bun to be very good. On the main menu the sea bass is great despite being one of the more expensive dishes, it was a whole grilled sea bass that we perfectly cooked. Puddings are fantastic, definitely worth a try, particularly the sticky toffee cookie dough and the honeycomb cheesecake.Fun & quirky, go, relax & enjoy!

I have had a lunch deal meal at the Wimbledon branch of Hot Pink several times, and it fair value for money - apart from the fact that because it was so popular they reduced what was included in the offer. However, today for the first time we chose off the standard menu and I have to say not happy with the portion sizes. Three average sized chicken satay skewers, sweet potato wedges and Virgin Strawberry Daquiri came to £10.75. Portion sizes were identical to the ones included in the lunch deal, and that only costs £8.50 with the drink. Big con - go for the deal every time.

Why do burger places outside of London proper have to be so mediocre? London itself has perhaps 20 great places to go for burgers, and it really isn't all that hard to copy them. Hot Pink's burgers are OK, but they are fairly expensive and yet not nearly as good as Meat Market/Mission/Liquor's, or Shakeshack's, or Honest Burger's, or Patty & Bun's, or Dip & Flip's, or Bleecker St. Burger's... etc.

Popped in for lunch with our two children. Friendly staff greeted us, we were served promptly and the food wasn't long in coming. There isn't a massive range on the menu, but it's more than enough and what is there is really tasty and a bit different from the standard burger/grill fare. The kids menu was popular and good value and crayons and activity sheet were also supplied so without being overtly a family restaurant the kids were both very happy.

We called in here on a Saturday for some lunch - the Fish Finger roll was very dry, and not pleasant to eat. My OH had a burger, and quite surprisingly (for such a limited menu), they order in frozen burgers! The Halloumi cubes were good, and they come with a 'free' sauce - however they tried to relieve us of the sauce once we were done with the Halloumi (we wanted to keep it for our chips).I had a mango margarita "slush", but couldn't taste any tequila in it, and it wasn't actually frozen. We were handed a feeback card whilst there, and so I filled it out, with the same comments I've written here - but I've never heard anything back - so I guess they're not relying on repeat custom. If you want a burger, go next door to GBK.
