Gourmet Burger Kitchen - Wimbledon in Merton

Order arrived missing half of the items, tried to call the shop so many times where they asked to leave name and number, we did that but none called back, never order again

My wife and I went in to have a nice relaxing dinner after a busy day. For the first time we saw the new tablet ordering system. We ordered and waited 40 minutes. Finally, after all that time a waiter came to ask if we had already ordered or if we want to order. We told him we had ordered only to be told that our order didn’t go through. But both of us had pending charges on our cards. The staff were indifferent and shrugged off our worries if we were going to get refunded. I was also surprised they didn’t offer to maybe reduce the cost of the meal or use some other tactic to make us happy and keep our custom. Clearly it’s not needed. It was an unfortunate waste of our time. I don’t think we will be going back any time soon. Final update: We had to go back to GBK for a refund and we spoke to the manager who did offer us a free meal for our inconvenience. We refused this as it didn't feel right and we were still not happy about the inconvenience of the whole situation and because it was too little to late. However, GBK did refund us the money for the meal, which we appreciate. The original payment taken by the tablet was never refunded. In GBK's place, I would reconsider the current payment service provider.

Always liked the GBK restaurants and this one was excellent as expected. Helpful staff and quick service. Love the iPad style ordering from the table. The homemade onion rings were large and crispy and the hot honey dip was delicious. Had the classic smash burger and loaded fries which were both excellent too.

Fantastic place with delicious food, outstanding service, and talented chef. Bartek, one of the staff member, was super attentive. Definitely a gem worth visiting again.

GBK still has the best burgers in town, IMHO. Unfortunately the branch next to my work as well as near where I live, both have been closed. So the next nearest one is at Wimbledon. I don't go there very often but whenever I do, I'm satisfied and I really appreciate how helpful and kind the staff is (kudos to Bartlomiej). Why only four stars at some parts? Food: as much as I still really like it, the changes in menu keep going in the wrong direction. Less and less burger choices, and customisation - which wasn't needed when the burgers choice was wider - gets too pricy. Atmosphere: what might be expected from a burger place, it's alright. My only complain is to the recently introduced self-order devices which have no option of scanning loyalty QR code. Luckily the staff helps getting around this.

Really friendly welcome, great service and the best burgers in town. I’d strongly recommend this GBK to anyone.

Ordered two burgers with onion rings and fries for delivery. One sandwich was no tomato. Mild allergy. The photo is the state of the veggie sandwich with a large tomato slice. Fries were a soggy cold mess and onion rings were cold. Wasted £36. Can't recommend anyone spend their money on this quality of food. Maybe other locations are better but there are plenty of other local burger alternatives to this.

Food was cold, burger was soggy and split in half, cheese was hard. Just awful

The driver did not deliver to my home and he would not have asked for the code as if he had he would have realised he was at the wrong address

Classic good GBK food with very friendly and helpful staff. The baby change is a bit cramped.

We were so looking forward to using a gift voucher but we really regret ordering from GBK Wimbledon. Unfortunately we had two terrible Korean chicken burgers… the chicken burger itself were two thin slices of chicken that were like cardboard and so we couldn’t finish the burger. The bread was hard and kimchi dry. The chips and onion rings didn’t seem to travel well either and so we put them in the air fryer to salvage them but yet again, just disappointed with the quality. We won’t be ordering from here again.

The ambient was excellent. We are vegan and vegetarian, and they have 3 different option of burger available. Honestly, it was too expensive for what we received, because we spend almost 60 pound for 2 burgers, 2 portion of fries (too small for 4£ each, in my opinion) and 2 milkshake. The service was pretty good too. Average 4 stars, but when it's weekdays it is cheaper, and it is definitely worth it (since we went on weekend, and we understand how business make the most out of weekends). Toilet cleanliness debatable, but I understand weekends are busier. Thank you😊

I visited Gbk Wimbledon today and had the best service. Me and my wife were greeted and seated straight a way by italiya which she was so polite and helpful. The food was amazing…definitely recommend the taxi driver. Overall this was a 10/10 experience for us. We will be back soon.

Order arrived stone cold because the delivery driver took 45 minutes to bring it. It’s an 8 minute drive. They passed through a park and stopped for 20 minutes on the way. For £37 worth of food this isn’t on. I want a refund.

Went here for lunch. Would definitely recommend, for children too! Food was great, and staff friendly. Alex B in particular was super polite and helpful!

Today, during lunchtime, I visited GBK Wimbledon Broadway, a restaurant I frequent due to its convenient location near my office. Upon arrival, Mia, the waitress, warmly welcomed us and confirmed the acceptance of the Love Wimbledon card, a perk I've always appreciated as a local employee. Throughout our meal, Mia provided attentive service, reflecting GBK's commitment to excellence. However, upon settling the bill, we encountered an issue with applying the Love Wimbledon discount due to system limitations. Despite Mia's efforts, the discount couldn't be processed as expected. Patryk, whom I assumed to be the manager, attempted to assist but communicated the system limitations without providing much flexibility. Despite my suggestion to separate the milkshake from the main transaction to facilitate the discount, the solution was not feasible due to operational constraints. What struck me most during this interaction was the lack of transparency regarding Patryk's position, which could have helped manage expectations better. Ultimately, I opted to pay the full price for the milkshake, understanding the challenges faced by the staff. As we prepared to leave, Patryk stopped us at the exit and provided contact details for further communication with the head office, causing a scene that was quite upsetting for both my colleague and me. Reflecting on the experience, I believe there's an opportunity for GBK Wimbledon Broadway to enhance its customer service by fostering clearer communication between staff and patrons. Also, worth mentioning that they stopped accepting Love Wimbledon cards without announcement to the customers or the staff. It was only found out at the end of the conversaton after Patryk rang up the head office. Edited: The handling of feebacks and complaints is so poor hence the change of the ratings

I ordered a food collection for take out. The food was very tasty, although burgers don't really travel well without falling apart. I was glad that I checked my order on collection as they'd forgotten the milkshakes (they weren't busy with 3 staff hanging around at the front - it was early evening). No apology was provided. I've been to GBK before at other venues as eat in where the staff were very attentive, so I hope this instance isn't indicative of a general drop in the level of service when making a collection. They also did not remove a large tomato from one of the burgers, whilst the sticker on the box of the burger said "no tomato". This subsequenly raised doubts as to whether they'd adherred to our "no nuts as nut allergy" request on the order. Looking at other reviews it looks like they need to improve on their accuracy of interpretting the orders.

Amazing fantastic Bart hosted us today, and burgers were 10/10 - sensational food - juicy flavourful burgers and fries . The service was slick. Highly recommended. 😀😀😀

Very nice polite young man called Alex B that served us who was on his 2nd day of employment made up for the dreadful welcoming we got from another Alex (bald) who was really miserable and gave me and my friend mucky miserable looks when we walked in.. food was good and new Alex was wonderful

Even though I have warned your guys to please label your burgers in the past. You still didn't and I ended up taking two bites of a meat burger and as someone who hasn't eaten meat in 20+ years I was disgusted and upset. LABEL YPUR BURGERS YOU LABELLED EVERYTHING ELSE!

I was visiting last night, the food was amazing and came so quick. Great service. I was in few Gbks this one is the best so far.

Requested burgers well done. Both were undercooked and still very pink inside. Just Eat customer service is uncooperative hence we may need to escalate to American Express.

I visited a few years ago and had the best burger and milkshake ever. However, I visited yesterday and found the quality has dropped considerably. £60 for 2 x burgers and chips, and 2 milkshakes is a lot of money unless it is really good, and this was not. Wish I had gone to Nandos. Sorry, but will not be returning. Service however was good.

Great ice-cream shakes which are very big, but they are £5.75 to £6 each. Burgers were OK but don't rate the flavour that much. Got 2 portions of truffle fries but very little truffle flavour. Kids meal is great value at £2 when you purchase an adults meal but we didn't rate the burger either. Can order on app yourself or at table, and collect reward stamps (1 stamp per visit as long as you spend over £10). 5 stamps = free classic burger.

Popped in for a quick lunch - always go somewhere busy. The service was friendly and quick. I had the pesto chicken burger and skinny fries. Both were hot, freshly cooked and tasted good. We would definitely go again.

Order a order that was over £60 and 3 portions of chips missing after calling the restaurant was told that it’s not his problem and the driver must of stole them and then he hung up the phone absolute treated terrible avoid this restaurant !

Visited GBK Wimbledon during festive period . Manager Jarek was friendly and very helpful . Food came very quick and very tasty. Staff very nice delivering great service .

The manager Gary absolutely ruined our experience at this restaurant. Very rude and condescending. He really made us feel unwelcome. All that and the chips were overcooked, chicken burger had 0 flavour and the beef burger was dry. Will never be returning to this GBK.

Disappointed as Head Office don't update the stamps for purchases made. It's very frustrating! The Burgers and chips are delicious but I'm not impressed with the "after sale" service. The Manager at the Wimbledon Branch is outstanding!

i used to go to gbk ALL THE TIME when i was a kid, the skinny fries were UNMATCHED. they were the thinnest fries on the market - absolute perfection. the burgers were to die for, with the burger sauce/relish being the star of the show. i’ve just ordered gbk as my boyfriend has never tried it and now i’m just upset. i open what i thought we’re my skinny fries to find some thick, chucky, cold, unseasoned potato fries :( and the burgers were still good but no where near as incredible as they used to be. it’s sad to see such an incredible establishment go so far down hill.

Flip and Dip was my favourite burger place until they closed down. GBK became my favourite, but not any more. They advertise on their wall that they are the medium rare experts but only twice in five trips have my burgers been medium rare, and that is a red card from me. The staff are great and efficient but the chef needs training or more help in the kitchen.

Very lazy staff, went in at 8:45 on a Thursday and staff said it was only takeaway so they wouldn’t serve us. We asked them what time they started to do takeaway only and they couldn’t give an answer. Go to Bills instead which is a 2 minute walk.

The only reason I'm giving 2 rather than 1 star here is the good-natured, smiling disposition of the service staff. Lovely people, and all seemed to be diligently engaged with their roles. Alas results were not forthcoming. I went just for an order of sweet potato fries to takeout and eat while walking. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet I waited over 10 minutes for my order... not the end of the world, at least they'd be fresh, you'd think? Rrrrrronnnggg! I ate them right away but they were only vaguely warm and also soggy. Heat lamped fries. :( I wondered if they gave priority to the dine-ins, but there were so few anyway? I wouldn't want to stay inside to eat, either... why? During my wait, there kept being this really loud noise like a blender or a vacuum-cleaner nearby. No such thing in sight tho: I suspect it may have been the hand dryer in the restrooms, but those were quite far from me. Whatever it was, they obv had terrible soundproofing, makes for bad ambience. They've seen the first and the last of me.

Unfortunately they have closed several GBK branches but the one in Wimbledon remains and the burgers are excellent. I like mine medium rare and they are cooked just right. The prices are reasonable too. Flip 'n' Dip was my favourite burger place in London, but they have closed down. Shame.

Disgusting. I am surprised GBK is still up and running after todays visit, along with the other poor reviews. the young bearded man working today 13/08 stuck his finger up his nose at one point then proceeded to serve food, and also had a hostile attitude. The food was so poor, beef burger was cremated when I asked for medium. I couldn’t recommend this place to my worse enemy.
