It is our second time going and the food was delicious. Was a big group of us and the service was amazing. Went for my partners birthday and they gave him a card which was such a lovely gesture. Would highly recommend to go for food!

Lunch time..empty restaurant. Food poor value, not served hot and small portions for £22 paid for main course. Treacle tart excellent but Brownie rock ,rock hard and not nice and £8. Lovely caring and friendly waitress.

Used to be the best roast in Northampton unfortunately after today’s experience the food has gone drastically down hill. Meat was over cooked and so was the Yorkshire pudding and the potatoes had no flavour. Best part of the meal was the root vegetables. Cauliflower cheese is no longer included in roasts and now an extra £7!! to add to meal, this is an outrageous increase. In light of how much the roasts have changed in taste, portion size and what’s included we will not be returning which is a huge shame as we were big fans previously and recommended to everyone we knew, this is no longer the case.

Several things on the menu I hadn't come across before. I had the cauliflower steak which I really enjoyed. Portions are small though ... apart from the macaroni cheese side dish!

What a totally unexpected surprise! This little hidden gem was well worth a visit. The food was unusual and delicious. The staff were very accommodating as we are both on Dry January and a Carb Free month too! Can’t wait to go back when we can really enjoy it.

Visited last night for my sons Birthday,service,was excellent and was made to feel welcome.Food was delicious,everyone's plates were empty.I hade 50 shades of gravey,my wife had In da club,they were both burgers but so good.Well done to all the team,we shall be returning.

Fantastic meal on Christmas Eve with the family. Exceptional food and amazing service. Blonde waitress (didn’t get her name) went out of her way to make sure my nephew was happy with pencils, recommendations and a candy cane. Best service and food we’ve all had in a while! Had the bread, fig Brie, duck breast, biscoff cookie, pork belly. All amazing.

Last minute booking delicious food very accommodating service

Restaurant located in residential area on outskirts Northampton. Pleasant atmosphere. Came on works Xmas dinner Friday eve around 8pm. Fairly busy to start but empty by 10. Food starter, pork cheek, rib eye steak and double chocolate brownie all very tasty. It's a shame plates were metal as very quickly lost heat and your food is stone cold by the time you are half way through eating it and who wants to eat stone cold food. This is a big mistake in my opinion. Hope mananagement take note of this because I think it will deter people from returning.

Sunday lunch and I had roast lamb. Meat was very tender but did find it hard to carve my way through the amount of fat in the meat. Everything else was tasty.. Lovely roasties, cauliflower cheese greens and gravy. White chocolate bread and butter pudding was super.

Having seen other reviews was feeling a bit dubious about our visit but was very happy with our experience. We visited as a group of 6 on a Wednesday night, so wasn't busy. We all ordered burgers and they were great. I shared an OG Hops and Fifty Shades of Gravy with my other half and both were delicious. The Fifty shades burger is an absolute beast! The jus with that burger was so rich and the chips were perfectly crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I had 2 cocktails and they were both great. Everyone else had desserts (I was too full!) and they all enjoyed them very much.

Fantastic restaurant, so happy we found this gem. Visited for a Sunday roast and can say one of the best I've ever had. The beef was excellent, the veg beautiful and the potato's perfectly roasted. Will be back soon, great atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Always great food never dissapoints

This has been my favourite restaurant for years, but tonight it was really disappointing. The crinkle cut chips were like McCain oven chips and were under done. The onion rings have halved in size and barely had any batter on them. The dessert tasted great but at £9 for a square of very hard chocolate brownie I’d have expected something more. The bill came in at £15 more than usual too. Very disappointing.

We have absolutely loved coming here and supporting local and despite disappointment on our last 5 occasions we kept returning in the hope it was just settling in to the change in chef and style, however the food continues to be disappointing. Everything contains SO MUCH salt some dishes are inedible. We couldn't even eat the dessert coz it tasted of nothing but salt, to clarify it was not a salted dessert and no salted caramel. It has been our go to restaurant for years and Henry was always an amazing host, now unfortunately it is unlikely we will return which is such a shame. The menu has also been limited for us by the introduction of fast food style options, if that is what we wanted we would get fast food. I may be old fashioned but I also like my food on a plate not a chunk of wood. It's a shame to lose somewhere local that used to be so good.

Service was really slow. Beef was really fatty & too tough to cut through. Only served one small plate of veg for 3 of us, had to ask for more. Ordered a bottle of rose, when drinks came the server advised it was out of stock, no problem , ordered a Pinot blush instead. 10 minutes later she bought over a bottle of white Pinot, took it away &, after another 10 minutes, bought the right bottle, then charged us for all 3 bottles! Real shame as we had high hopes for this place. Definitely not worth the price. Cauli cheese & parsnips were nice though.

Fantastic food and Fantastic service, one of our favourite restaurants within an hour of our home, every time we come here we leave very happy! Dishes are creative and of a very high quality as well as the Portions being generous, The FOH staff are very friendly and attentive. We will be back again!

Been here a few times. Very good. Catching servers eye can be tricky, even when quiet, but service is fine beyond that. We paid over £100 for three meals (main and desserts). Steaks and burgers had by the group and all very good - except chorizo beans. They were universally accepted as "bad".

We returned after a previously good meal here a year or so ago. Don’t know if the staff have changed or new owners but we were disappointed. Not really bad but not good either and we found it expensive so won’t be going back.

We went for a Sunday roast after hearing good things, and we were not disappointed! The pork belly bites to start were a particular highlight. For main we all had the roast beef and it was beautifully cooked. The sides where very tasty and the portion size was massive. Not only do you get quality, but it was backed up with quantity! Had an absolutely lovely meal here. Rhubarb Gin cocktail was delicious. Shared a pork belly starter , more then enough for one person. My steak was cooked to perfection, as was the lamb dish. What is not to like! The restaurant has a modern feel and is nice and open, the menu is varied and catered for a vegetarian, a pasta lover, a fussy teenager and of course a lover of meat - of which I have never had a finer piece. So that's "chops" what about "hops"? Again there was a wide variety of cocktails but more importantly for me was a very extensive beer list, so do your self a favour a get a taxi.

Last night's meal was OK but not quite as good as it should have been for the money, it was good to see the restaurant full which is testimate to the brand and quality we expect, although it was hard to hold a conversation due to the acoustics from other tables meaning a more raised voice. Some the meat wasn't cooked to peoples order and the fries where delivered to the table crispy-burnt which again got sent back. I do recommend the Pork Belly starter, that was superb. Desert options mostly came with ice cream which is OK but Sticky Toffee pudding should have an option for custard 🤷‍♂️. Unfortunately due to the groups disappointments out weighing the positives it maybe a while before we return.

We were really disappointed with the quality of the food. Had been really looking forward to finally visiting this restaurant and expected more based on all the other reviews. the Camembert starter was gorgeous, but that’s where the positive ends. 2 of our group had the chicken burgers which were so over cooked and dry. Little gem in an unexpected area. You wouldn't picture this restaurant being located in the middle of a housing estate and from the outside it just looks like another building. Inside it's great and very inviting. It's quite cozy so bear that in mind if you have a concern about being too close to the next table (Covid perspective). We went on a Saturday lunchtime and only 2 other tables so service was prompt and the food was DELICOUS! If you are a steak eater then you have a range of meat selections available and they tasted lovely. Two others had the house burgers and they loved it. I had the Potato Gnocchi Chicken Carbonara and it was gorgeous, ample portion size, hot, tasty and very filling. Yes the prices are slightly more than main stream restaurants (like Bella Italia) but you get what you pay for here - bigger portions, superior taste, fresher ingredients and better prepped food. There is a clear different of food quality here and is thoroughly recommended. They also sell Coke from the bottle (which is the best taste) so none of this tap nonsense which waters down the taste. Can't wait to revisit, feeling very hungry thinking about it now! Oh another thing the disabled toilet is on the ground floor (obviously) but if you do struggle with stairs then don't try to visit the non-disabled as they are up some steep stairs so best to use the disabled toilet.
