Honestly the food has gone downhill since when it first opened.

Best chippy in Glasgow, second time I've used it and the fish is absolutely beautiful, give it a try you won't be disappointed.

You get more flavour from licking paper. Beyond bland.

Loved the haddock in this chippy. It says inside that this is their speciality. Batter was light and not greasy and the fish was fantastic. It was a huge portion of chips and less than £8 so great value. I wasn't massively keen on the chips so only 4 stars. They had some other good looking items on the menu like calamari and fish cakes. Not the normal items on a Scottish menu. Its great to see.

Definitely not Hooked owners anymore! New owners using the hooked name. Menu has more than halved! Food was oily and soggy! Plus very rude management. Would definitely avoid.

£27 for two suppers - both mid and chips were pretty rubbish. Staff were strange and seemed like they didn't want us to be there - all in all, not worth remortgaging your house for.

We've only used the delivery option via the website so can't comment on the atmosphere. These guys do very good gluten free fish and chips. Also recommends the frilled lemon and herb fish. Generous portions. The home delivery always arrives quicker than we expect and the communication from hooked regarding our orders has always been excellent.

Not long opened and asked for kebab meat... said none left so couldn't have had any, curry sauce congealed and cheese was plastic. Chips were ok but it's a chippy, should just be standard.

Good fish and chips. Especially fish, chunky and tasty. Serious people. Hard to find smile on anyone's face though.

My wife and I used to order from Hooked once a week back when they still served their vegan bean burger meal a few months ago. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and as a vegan it's hard to come by a good chippy. But now there are basically no solid vegan options. I don't understand why they suddenly stopped selling one of their best sellers that had been on the menu for years. I really hope they bring it back.

They advertise gluten free fish batter which is pointless because they still fry it in the same oil as everything else is fried in which defeats the purpose of being gluten free.. DAFT!!

This used to be such an amazing place and now below average. £26 for small haddock supper, scampi supper and 3 mac & cheese balls delivered.

Had a excellent fish supper with pickled egg with sausage and curry sauce. I found the service fantastic and it was a very clean and well presented shop. The owner was very welcoming and I love seeing a family business. I thoughly enjoyed my food and recommend this fish and chip shop. I will be using it again.

Really disappointed with our meal, over priced for what you get and tasted like half a tub of salt had been tipped all over our food chips were cold will not be ordering from here again.

Haven't been in to a chip shop for quite a while and went here Saturday night for a treat..I used this place often but was disappointed with my meal..fish was soggy no lemon and chips were cold. I only stay a 5 min drive from here so they should have been still reasonably warm. Staff were friendly but meal was overpriced for what you get..

If did not stay over 40miles away from this place I would be there every week, food was fantastic 😋, service was excellent, definitely worth a visit, if possible I would book, it's a busy place, and you will understand why after you've been, yummy 😋 😀

My family accidentally placed an order at this fish and chip shop, which has the same name as our local one. We rang a couple of minutes after the order was placed to explain the mistake and ask to cancel it, but were told this wouldn’t be possible. We’re writing this review to draw attention to this shop’s unkind practices — there’s no way the order could already have been ready in the couple of minutes it took us to call and cancel.

Always great quality and usually very good waiting times if willing to collect

Worst takeaway i have ever had. Over priced, over rated and service appalling. Order wrong burger was dry burned chicken strips, fish wrong order. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend to anyone

Quality is hit and miss. Can be great but can also be very poor as it was last night. It's expensive and really needs to be great all of the time to justify that

I used to rate Hooked but after waiting 80 minutes on a Tuesday evening for a delivery, I won't be back. Don't get me wrong, I dont mind waiting if the full order turns up and the food is actually edible, but when they can't even pack the order correctly and the fish and chips are cold, overcooked and rock hard, I'll definitely be going elsewhere.

Supposedly an excellent chippy. Food took 90 mins, missing ingredients, ice cold and full of black chips. Awful!

Fast service, great tasting food, recommend the battered haloumi.

The fish in tempura batter was lovely as where the chips and scampi. Food was well priced and was ready quickly after ordering, can't complain. Top tip, get the seasoning on the chips, oh my!

Portion sizes were too small, only got two tiny sausages in a supper, would have expected at least 3 at that size, and not many chips. The fish was over cooked too.

Had been one of my favourite chippies in Glasgow. Good menu with some interesting additions compared to your standard chip shop, and they use cooking oil responsibly. On last visit however chips were badly cooked; solid and pretty inedible tbh. The chicken strips were over cooked too, and the meat was really dry and hard. Bit dissapointing really. Maybe it's best to stick to the fish after all.

By far the best fish and chips in Glasgow. The tempura battered haddock is outstanding, 10 out of 10 from me.

Good portions, we did the half and half, where you get two small fillets with different batters. Fish was a bit dry, but batter was crisp. I'm still undecided between this place and Marinis across and down the road.

Tasty good quality chipper that offers healthy grilled fish options.

Bloody delicious! Chunky chips with very crispy fish not soggy or greasy. tartare sauce tangy delicious. Mushy peas looks a little bit lumpy but I never liked mushy peas, I always get it for the hubby.

I think this place is great! Good selection and everything is really tasty. Not too expensive. Actually has a good vegan and vegetarian range too which is very rare for fish and chip shop!

We often pick up food at the weekend. Had to order a delivery this evening, as we couldn't pick up. It took 1 hour and 30 mins to arrive, 20 minutes late. It had obviously been in the delivery car for a long time, as it was stone cold. The driver handed me 2 very cold free cans as an apology for the delay and disappeared immediately. I can only conclude that our food was sitting next to these cans. Called twice and left messages. No reply. Poor, poor, poor.

Good menu. Some unusual items which offer variety especially for vegetarians. First visit so perhaps not representative but I'd have have preferred slightly crisper chips.

Don't think I'll be ordering again. Ordered two hours ago, called up and was hung up on, never once offered an apology. I've been going to since I moved to Glasgow and you sounded annoyed that I had asked where my food was after two hours. Absolutely horrendous service.

Don't normally give bad reviews as I like to give the benefit of the doubt but that's three times in a row over a period of several months that I've been severely disappointed. Far dearer than your regular chippy, buy tiny portions and terrible quality. The epitome of style over substance. Everything was soggy, chicken strips totally inedible. Helluva lot of money for a substandard product

I used to go in regularly for the tampo hake and fries (mmm, yummy) but it seems to have slipped a bit recently. on a couple of occasions iv found the middle of the fish to be cold and over moist (guessing its cooked from frozen?) not very appetising ! ah well back to the alternatives :/ (best chippy along the road does a decent fish n chips) excellent staff tho, always friendly and helpful

Mi cena de salchichas tenía dos de las salchichas más pequeñas que he visto en mi vida. Ni siquiera harían una salchicha con mi habitual chippy. La porción de patatas fritas también era pequeña. Estaban poco cocidos en el trato. La cena también costó 6 (que no me importaría si fuera de un tamaño decente). Muy decepcionado ! ! ! !

Normally it's good the service is good the selection also is very verioed witch is a pleasant surprise for a chippy but the last time a was in I was served a single chicken fillet cut in a half apposed to two full chicken fillets that they normally give us so I was very disappointed if they said to me and offered something else or money off instead of thinking a would not notice difference so because I've this a can't give them five stars a suppose it's only happened once but still it was a disappointment

Decent chippy with lovely range of fish. They offer gluten free batter on the fish, but it is still fried with everything else, so you do get the good chance of cross contamination. If they had a separate fryer and got a few more gluten free options this could be a truly great place for us celiacs

Great! Not greasy and very tasty. They filter their oil every day and change it every 2nd day. You can really tell! The staff are very efficient and friendly too.

Hit an miss. First time the fish was great. 2nd time it was all soggy and chips smelled of old fish. It was 8pm on week day bit that should not be an excuse for poor quality food. Premium price also demands consistentcy

Una ensalada con verduras mixtas y dos bebidas.El pescado era sabroso, con sus ricos copos fritos a la perfección. Las patatas fritas eran buenas y los tamaños de las porciones eran abundantes.El personal era amable y la pequeña tienda estaba limpia, con baldosas blancas de metro que tenían una gran información como los aceites que usaba la tienda y el pescado del día.Una gran cena a un precio asequible definitivamente me llevaría de regreso a este lugar.

Outstanding customer service!! All the staff are polite, helpful and very efficient. They are a credit to the owner! Food is always of a very high quality. The battered halloumi and brie bites are my favourite. Absolutely delicious! You can never visit this place once, you always come back for more!

Típico y nuevo chippy que trata de ser cool al animar las cosas con algo de música house y 4 salsas diferentes, y usar este gimmic para cobrar precios altos y ofrecer porciones pequeñas. Mi chippy habitual sirve una encantadora cena de 2 piezas de pescado para 6 con más fichas de las que podrías tener que comer, pero en HOOKED obtienes una pequeña cantidad de patatas fritas crujientes y un poco de pescado para 7. La comida no era mejor que la de mi local, que podía darles una verdadera lección para hacer papitas fritas suaves y clásicas perfectas. Me sentí engañado saliendo de aquí, así que si tiene hambre o está acostumbrado a los tamaños de porción normales, me gustaría ir a otro lugar. No volveré

Best fish and chips in the southside. You can got traditional fish and chips but i would recommend tempura style. Everything is made fresh. A little more expensive but worth every penny.

No recuerdo la primera vez; No puede haber sido tan malo como esto o no habríamos regresado de nuevo.Como dice el título: 19 para dos porciones de bacalao anémico y papas fritas con dos ollas de salsa. El bateador era glacial y pálido; Lo escogí y mi bacalao estaba bien (r) en el interior, sin embargo, mis compañeros estaban demasiado cocidos y poco cocidos en diferentes partes. Las papas también estaban pálidas y tristes, algunas empapadas, otras mal cocidas.Lo más destacado de la comida fue la salsa tártara. El servicio al cliente no era nada especial. Está muy bien ofrecer una gran variedad de bateadores y extras, pero no es bueno si los conceptos básicos son tan malos. No volveré por tercera vez.

Best chip shop iv been too very clean and staff very friendly. I had chips and homemade steak and ale pie and it's the best iv had in a long time next time I'm getting 2 homemade steak and ale pie .love them .

This is a great place to eat. Not that deep fried food is healthy but a little healthier than most with there use of rapeseed oil. Vegan and vegitarian's beware though as they will use the same batter for your veggie food as they do the fish and meat items unless you specifically ask for a fresh batter to be made. I noticed this a while back when my veggie sausage smelled of fish. They are more than happy to make the fresh batter I just wish you didn't have to ask. Why would you want your veggie meal dipped in fish juice!

My Niece stays round the corner from hooked and said it does Gluten Free fish and chips ,so we popped in only to be told they can do Gluten Free Batter but it is fried in beside everything else ,that is cross contamination so not Gluten free,so why advertise gluten free when it is clearly not !

Best special fish have tasted in years mega thick . Pure white . ,chips were lovely. Yum yum
