…which came quickly and cost little. My bacon, cheese and onion sandwich was genuinely delicious and did just the job of filling me up and calming my stomach!

Always brilliant, such a good cafe, very broad menu, all food is done very well, spacious inside, fast service, nice staff, as good as a greasy spoon gets, and you get lots of things you won't find at most others. Best in the area.

This cafe ticks all the boxes, food, service and value for money. Popular with the locals and construction workers/builders. Food is fresh, tasty and well portioned. The staff arnt protentious or try and fancy the cafe up to justfy high price like a few in the area. Wide selection of meals, affordable priced topped off with good customer service. Honor oak is very lucky to have this cafe in the area.

I have been enjoying breakfasts and dinners at this cafe for 41 years. It’s long standing current proprietor, Mem excels for quality and service. His breakfasts dinners are legendary and the staff are always kind and attentive.

A real English breakfast with nothing to disappoint. Nice sauages. The bacon had a nice gammon flavour - grilled tomatoes and a fried egg with baked beans and toast washed down with a nice cup of tea. Service was quick courteous. All reasonably priced. They also do dinners.

This is a real value for money cafe. Staff and owner always welcoming. It is very clean. Really good selection of home cooked food from wide selection of sandwiches, rolls and paninis to all day breakfast set menus which comes with 2 slices of toast and a tea/coffee. Main meal menu is large and varied and includes chops, pie, liver, chicken to haloumi, kofte and salads. Their Sunday roasts are really popular. We go there often and take our grandsons who love it. Do give it a try. Prices really good and their food portions are excellent.

As local caffs go this is my favourite. Always friendly and fast tasty food. Admittedly I've only ever had breakfast here but they serve a variety of meals and always seem to be busy - in a good way. They sell 'proper coffee' though as a bit of a coffee snob it's not the greatest. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Great cafe. We meet here as a family for a brunch every couple of months. Staff are friendly and welcoming and they have a good selection on the menu all freshly cooked when ordered. The food is tasty and not greasy at all. Highly recommend this cafe.

This is a real example of a basic old fashioned workings mans cafe offering excellent value for money. A good menu including English breakfast plus some typical British dishes like liver. Sandwiches also available and a hot cup of tea and coffee. it was busy which was not surprising. The service and staff were top class and if we were in the area again we would certainly come here

We have been coming here for 10 years. That's 10 years of stinking hangovers and the only thing that will help is one of their egg and bacon sandwiches. Don't stop there though, treat yourself to one of their amazing massive breakfast. Proper portions of food. Excellent value for money. Clean. Lovely staff. Always busy, there is a reason for that. The only thing they've never nailed is scrambled egg; but I prefer poached anyway. Yes. Visit here, it will make you happy and full.

Buen café, pero es a mediados de enero y la puerta está abierta y la calefacción está apagada. Se sentó en abrigos y se fue para ir a un lugar más cálido. También la música era un poco ruidosa para tener una conversación.

For me, as lovely as the staff are, it's not a great restaurant. It's very outdated, and it needs a massive revamp and a massive clean. It could be a wonderful place to get food, but it needs a proper in-depth. Makeover, clean new menu end more customer Focused.Unfortunately the restaurant is stuck in the 80s at the moment I do hope this restaurant gets a proper revamp before it's too late and we lose a great place in the community

Restaurant dirty and run down. Food terrible, pie undercooked underneath and over ooked on top. Pastry like leather, meat scarce and tasteless. Gravy bland and watery.

Having just experienced a masterclass in bad service, I was moved to write a first-ever restaurant review. My wife and I walked in mid-afternoon without a booking on the off-chance there'd be an available table. After checking, the maitre d confirmed no tables inside - fair enough - but that we could eat outside unless we wanted to wait until 6pm to eat. Outside we went and sat in a heated booth with a reserved sign. The server then told us we would need to move but couldn't confirm what time the booth booking was due, and all the other reserved signs were just there to help manage walk-ins. Odd way to handle it, but no problem - we moved to a non-booth table and the server kindly moved a patio heater for us, took our order for a roast each and placed our cutlery on the table. He then returned to tell us that in fact there was no food available. As in, no honouring of our order, no starters available, no food at all. On questioning he said it was because they needed to 'protect advance bookings'. No answer to what would've happened had we waited until the 6pm table; seemingly no solution for walk-ins whatsoever. So we ordered a cold sausage roll bar snack. And then the cherry on the service cake - the poor server was sent out by his maitre d to collect our cutlery. No attempt by the maitre d to apologise, make any attempt to explain, comp the cold sausage rolls or offer us a round of drinks. If we'd been told at the beginning there was no food available, we would've understood and left without spending money on a round of drinks (and the cold sausage rolls). It will take quite something to convince us to return. To the owners of The Talbot - you've done a lovely job on the renovation, your food looks great, and you've created a great vibe. But your customers are your lifeblood and your people are your key strength and you seem to have forgotten both those essential points.
