The holy Trinity Church in the entire congregation have been so wonderful to me until today I was just turned away for being 10 minutes late I'm just trying to get some bus passes to be able to get back and forth to my new job I have no way to get there and no money for an Uber I was told that there's no one to call that the time is over and I am out of luck I was brushed off without even a second thought by Peter who answers the phones in the door I even called to try to speak to someone else to see if there was any way I could get any help and I was told know there is no one to call. I find this so hard to believe. never know what they're going through

My partner took me here for a surprise Birthday lunch. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. It’s stunning architecture and warm welcoming atmosphere make the Priory a beautiful place to dine. It felt like we were lords dining in the great hall. We had pre-ordered our meals from the menu and boy oh boy we were not disappointed . It’s a good thing they have comfy sofas in the reception area,!We needed them after the meal because both of us were stuffed. Holy Cross Priory restaurant is a beautiful hidden gem in the countryside with great staff and a lovingly prepared menu. 10/10

We celebrated my parents Diamond Wedding Anniversary at The Priory with over 60 family and friends. The lounge was wonderful, beautiful sofas and arm chairs, a gorgeous fireplace, a piano which we played and a delightful buffet of various sandwiches and cakes. We have also eaten in the dining room there, which is just exquisite. Excellent food and staff.

As a group of ladies, we visited for afternoon tea. The lounge we were shown into was beautiful. Deep comfy sofas and tastefully decorated. There was a piano which, if being played, would have been the icing on the cake!. As we were the only party there, a little background music may have been nice as we felt like we were talking too loudly! The waitress who served us was very polite and friendly. Tea and coffee was served in China pots with free refills (decaf was available). We had 3 fingers sandwiches each, a fruit tart, a tiny Victoria sponge, a small chocolate cake and a scone with pots of clotted cream and jam. There was plenty for everyone and we even took a doggy bag home. All of this for £7.50 per head. The building is stunning and so are the grounds. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I have been to Holy Cross for a vintage tea today. We were invited to celebrate with our very good friend whose birthday it is. This was the first time of coming to Holy Cross and what an impressive building built in Victorian gothic style. On arrival the whole area is quite stunning. Unfortunately the weather was against us being cold and very wet but inside the building it was lovely and warm. The tea was nicely presented laid out on cakestands with an assortment of sandwiches. Also little cakes and scones with jam and cream to help yourselves to if required. Plenty of tea and coffee and a waitress to refill the pots. Certainly there was enough for everyone to enjoy I am unable to tell you the cost of the tea due to being invited guests but it was a wonderful afternoon spent in amazing surroundings with a lovely vintage tea. Please visit the Holy Cross Priory it is well worth it and have an enjoyable time and try to ignore the negative comments. We can only speak highly of our afternoons experience. Still as the old saying goes "you can't please all of the people all of the time". I am sure there will be a lot of interest if a tea shop was to be accessed somewhere in the beautiful grounds for the general public to visit.

I came here with my family for afternoon tea. We were amazed at the property on arrival being that it's an old priory and there are sisters wondering about too! We were taken through to a lovely room with a piano by a very friendly European waitress who was very chatty and seemed genuine. The table was set up all ready for us with very pretty cups and saucers. And then the cake stand arrived.....wow so much for the bargain price of £6.95!! There was 3 fingers sandwiches, along with 3 different mini muffins and then on the top was 1 large scone already assembled, and this was all per person. The tea arrived perfectly on time just a shame in was in a metal teapot...would be better if it was in a China teapot!! But the tea inside is still the same. We all had a very enjoyable afternoon in such a beautiful setting. The only one thing i would say but that is personal taste, is that I would prefer to assemble my scone myself so I can make it just the way I like it!! But aside from that I would definitely recommend others to come here.

We booked a group vintage afternoon tea on a Sunday afternoon. We were taken into a very large beautiful room. We were the only ones in this room. We were a group of 10 ladies. We were shown to our seats which were very comfortable. The small pretty cups and saucers were on the table ready for us. The waitress bought our cream teas out on stands. On the bottom plate was a selection of finger sandwiches. The middle layer had a selection of miniature muffins. The top layer consisted of an already assembled scone with cream and jam, a few quartered strawberries were with them. Then there was the tea and coffee. This was disappointingly served up in a stainless steal jug not a tea pot. We had one of each which meant we barely had enough each for a second cup and the cups were tiny! We therefore asked for some more tea and coffee. During this time nobody came to ask us if we were happy with the vintage tea. We had to ask for more tea and coffee. Then we were presented with the bill. They had charged us for the extra jug of tea and coffee £10 each so £20 extra total. We were already paying £6.95 for the vintage tea. We went to see the Management. A rather rude waitress (said she was management) argued with us that we had to pay this. After we refused to pay she then went to find "Management" who let us off the £20 but she continued to be very rude to us until we left almost snatching the money off us! The vintage cream tea is not like it looks on the photo on their website. We were so disappointed, it is such a beautiful venue totally let down by the staff!

Had a family celebration of over 100 people. The food was great (finger food and canapés) and the service better, nothing to much trouble. Would definitely do parties there again. Nothing comparable for value for money, ease of organising, and amazing venue.

We visited this restaurant which is set in an old priory which has retirement homes attached. It is a lovely setting and the restaurant/dining room is open to residents and to visitors. The architecture is Victorian Gothic but the dining room has large windows and is not dark or oppressive. Our first visit a year ago was very enjoyable with no complaints and very nice food. However yesterday we went back with friends for the Pre-Christmas lunch menu. We had booked in advance. Our waitress was lovely, very pleasant and helpful. However, one of our party ordered the salmon, only to be told it was not available (it was one of only 4 main courses on the Christmas menu). As she doesn't eat meat and didn't want the vegetarian option, she ended up with an omelette which was hardly festive. On making a complaint to the manager, we were informed that we should have pre-ordered our food and that we should have seen this from the web site. Our friends had booked by telephone and were not told anything about pre-ordering our food (there were only 5 of us, hardly a large party). In fact there is nothing on the website either about having to pre-order. It was very disappointing that the manager did not deal with our complaint graciously and we left feeling that we were unlikely to go back again. A shame as most of us enjoyed our meals and the venue is very unusual.
