Hollywood Lounge Bar, Pizza & Grill in York

We have been to this restaurant a few times now and it's always really nice. Staff are sooo friendly and it has nice relaxed feel about it. Food is excellent and service excellent.

We called in on spec to celebrate a birthday. Got a table fine, waitress lovely, but the food is expensive for what it is and what we had was dried up. The decor is shabby place needs refresh. No won't go back.

Very overpriced and expensive. food quality was terrible as were the drinks. Ordered a jug of sangria and resembled nothing like a sangria so we left half of it

Myself and the wife visited last night as she fancied the belly pork, she enjoyed it and I had the rump steak which was nice but it only came with chips which weren't great. Service charge added aswell expensive for what it is, wouldn't bother going back

Nice looking restaurant and found the staff to be friendly although a bit quick off the mark coming to take our order, had to ask for a few more minutes. My husband had a a chicken pasta dish and it was spot the chicken. I had the duck which was very nice. For dessert chose the creme brulee which almost broke my tooth the top was so hard and brittle. Didn't like the fact a £6.50 service charge was automatically added to the bill so be careful to check. Wouldn't visit again.

We had high expectations for this, four friends out for a Friday night, cocktails and dinner. Service and attention was okay, some had double starters, others the traditional starter and entree etc. One friends steak was tough, I had the duck breast which was small and a bit dry. Wouldn't run back.

We were spending a couple of nights in York and came across this gem of a place.We had such a lovely meal here.The staff were really welcoming and accommodating.I had lasagne which was really delicious and we had a garlic ciabatta to share which was so fresh and garlicky.

A great little restaurant with excellent food. Had a really nice meal here, the staff were all really nice and friendly and the place itself is nice and relaxed. Easy to miss as Scaffolding is covering the front of the building but do go in as its very good good with great friendly staff.

Lovely food and wine. Italian pasta and risotto at its delicious simple best. The restaurant was very quiet, but scaffolding at the front gives it the look of being closed. But they are open so please go in.

I can’t recommend this place highly enough. We were a big table of 12 and everyone’s food was so good. My 3 year old daughter had the kids spaghetti and it was huge! Such a good selection of food on the menu. It all sounded lovely. I had salmon with broccoli and that was really nice. Staff and service were very good too. We don’t live in York but next time we’re back we’ll definitely be coming back and if you’re thinking of dining here then please do. You won’t be disappointed.

We were looking somewhere quieter for lunch and found this tucked away from the main thoroughfare. Very welcoming staff and great swift service. Unfortunately the draught drinks were not working. We chose from the set menu. All food was very good and we particularly enjoyed the sea bass. Yes, the decor and chairs are a little dated and worn but it adds to the charm. Would say that the doors, walls and crevices of the floors of the toilets need more thorough cleaning it are superficially okay. Would eat here again. The service charge was the amount we would have given anyway so we’re happy to pay it.

Nice vibe in this restaurant and a very pleasant waitress served us. Good choices of both food and drinks menu One of us ordered the saffron asparagus risotto, it was tasty but there wasn’t any asparagus in it. When I mentioned it to our waitress, she checked with the chef and came back saying he was sorry, he didn’t put any in it! So, a main course without the main ingredient! When we wanted to order coffees, I only drink skimmed or semi skimmed at a push, they and neither, bit of a fail really so no coffee or tea for me. I don’t understand why a restaurant wouldn’t have at least semi skimmed milk available. Anyway, overall it was satisfactory, I’m not sure if we’d go back when there are so many other good places in York to eat.

The staff are friendly and attentive and there is a good vibe to the restaurant . We all had the set menu which was a good price. The food was great. The only downside was the added service charge . I like to decide how much tip to give and service should be part of the restaurants pricing .

Decent food and drink. Experience spoilt by service charge added to what was already hardly a cheap meal. We refused to pay the charge. Won’t be going back on principle.

D'Vine Restaurant and Social Bar, located in the centre of historic York, delivers a decent dining experience with an unexpected twist. As you step inside, you find yourself questioning its culinary identity. On the menu, it's a Mediterranean/Italian pizzeria, but the ambiance leans more towards a tropical vibe with a Spanish and latin american music soundtrack filling the air throughout the evening. Our gastronomic journey started off with some grilled Halloumi cheese, a satisfying introduction to the meal, coupled with calamari - tasty, though the portion could be a bit more generous to whet the appetite adequately. As for the main courses, we selected the Roast Lamb Rump and the Duck Breast. Both were quite satisfactory, being flavorful and well-cooked. They were served with a hearty helping of garlic mash that, unfortunately, fell short of expectation. The mash was somewhat under seasoned and dry, which contrasted with the otherwise enjoyable main dishes. A noteworthy highlight of the evening was the friendly service. The staff was attentive and welcoming throughout, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Overall, the dining experience at D'Vine can be summed up as satisfactory. Although the food ranges from average to good, the friendly service and prime location in the heart of York offer a pleasing dining experience. A little more consistency in its culinary style and attention to details in the dishes could potentially make D'Vine a standout choice in York's dining scene.
