Had both dinner and breakfast here whilst staying at the Holiday Inn, part of the meal deal package. Good choices for dinner and a good choice for buffet breakfast. Service was a little slow on the evening even though the restaurant was quiet - it was a Tuesday so not peak day for meals out. Definitely worth what we paid.

Stayed at the holiday Inn 3 nights but only had breakfast. This was excellent. You could order freshly cooked from the kitchen or have the breakfast buffet. The staff were helpful and attentive, the coffee good. The restaurant is light spacious. This was Xmas Day service!

Nunca volveré a parar aquí. El desayuno es el peor que he tenido en cualquier Holiday Inn. La selección de bebidas es muy limitada, cara e incluso tienen el descaro de agregar un cargo por servicio obligatorio del 10%.

We visited ‘The Junction’ restaurant when we visited Oxford. Located on the ground floor of the Holiday Inn Hotel this restaurant has a lovely group of staff all of whom go right out of their way to make you welcome. A lovely environment in which to enjoy a meal. The food we had was beautifully cooked and really well presented. Their ‘meal deal’ of two meals with glasses of wine for £39.99 is excellent value. Lovely service....lovely staff ...and good food. Thank you.

We ate dinner here one evening and had two breakfasts during the weekend of our stay. The breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn menu. Dinner had a good selection of choices and the food was decent with reasonable portion sizes. Prices were normal for a city centre hotel but pricey for the location. The exceptional factor from each visit was the service - on every occasion the staff were superb - friendly, professional and helpful. So overall the food was decent enough, service superb and prices a little high.

We had breakfast here for 3 days. The cooked breakfast was oily the rest was good. Some tables had milk in teapots. Odd. On the second morning a line of eight guests stood at the sign saying wait to be seated. Five staff looked at us and never even said 'Be with you in a moment ' After a few minutes we all found tables among the many tables set for breakfast. On the third morning a bus boy took away one used plate from my table and even after being asked he left a second in place and never touched the next table.

Only 2 star rating. One for the food- the meal we had was excellent. One for the room which was comfortable. Tea making facility in the room but if you want a biscuit then you have to go to Waitrose nearby. (£110/night no biscuit. I think that is poor). Service at the bar was very slow - lack of staff? Bill included 2 items that I had not purchased. Even though this was corrected it leaves a memory. Not my favourite hotel. Location good if you like to stay on a roundabout. Travel Lodge next door probably much better value.

We chose this location as it was close to Blenheim Palace and the park and ride for Oxford centre. The room was clean and had all that we needed. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the menu was varied, the food was substantial enough for us not to require a dessert.

A little out of the way from the city centre the hotel is a modern example of the holiday inn chain. Staff very helpful and rooms clean and well equipped. Only criticism would be the limited choice in the hotel restaurant.

Lovely leisure centre with pool, spa, steam and sauna rooms. Changing room was a bit dirty and the spin drier out of order. The bedroom we stayed in was on 3rd floor and was one not refurbished and needed an update as was a bit tired, shower not great. Breakfast was nice with lots of choices. The location of the hotel was brilliant as a 5 minute walk to the park and ride bus to Oxford city centre. We could leave our car free of charge in the hotel car park. I was a bit disappointed that the hotel lacked a wow factor for a 4 star hotel, also didn't really feel it was value for money. If we ever return to Oxford we would stay elsewhere.

Eleven of us came here tonight for a murder mystery dinner as part of a friend's hen weekend. The room we were given was a corporate meeting room complete with flip chart and screen - not really the right ambience for a dinner event. The starters were fine, but when the main course was due, things started to go badly wrong. We had pre ordered our meals and pre paid as part of a weekend package through an event's organiser. The list of chosen dishes held by our lead person was identical to that of the department manager but the kitchen seemed to be working to a different script. There was no cutlery with which to eat the food and no apparent hurry to correct the situation. Two of the party did not get their main course until after the rest of us had finished eating. We had drunk 6 bottles of wine between us and were happy to accept a significant discount on these in compensation for the earlier poor service. The management were willing to do this but presented a bill of £230 for the food! As we had pre paid this was strongly contested. After some considerable discussion and a complete lack of willingness from hotel staff to take responsibility - "it's another department "- we finally were assured that nothing was owing. The food - when it and the necessary cutlery arrived - was fairly good but the evening was spoilt by lack of attention to detail and a lack of acceptance of responsibility for apologising and putting things right.

This is to be highly recommended as a location for discovering Oxford, using the near-by park and ride, or to break a journey. It is a well-run hotel, with well-trained and attentive staff. Quite an extensive restaurant menu with an interesting range of vegetarian dishes. Rooms are well-maintained and serviced, and given the proximity to a major road system, it provides for a quiet night's sleep. I shall return when back in the area.

Stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting family. Not sure what I was expecting, but was surprised. The room was immaculate as was the bathroom with both cleaned to a high standard. I am usually picky with bathrooms, but the bathroom we had was immaculate. All members of staff were very polite, friendly and when asked for a pot of milk for the room as I don't like the small packs provided it was provided without a problem . We ate on one evening and again not sure what we're expecting, but food was lovely and with the added bonus of selling Starbucks coffee! Keep up the good work and will definately return.

had a meeting here with friends but at Teatime, 4 pm, no tea was available due to the machine, presume kettle was being cleaned and would be 20 minutes. Why do this at peak time. When coffee arrived we were one short, even though the waiter could see there were 4 of us but couldn't care less. The coffee tasted awful and my guest left it untouched. We requested cakes or scones but absolutely nothing available, very disappointing. Not worth visiting this establishment

I stayed at the Travelodge while on a training course at nearby Kidlington and because the Travelodge doesn't have a restaurant or bar, I ate at the Holiday Inn. All I can say is that it is way over priced. £20 for nachos, a cheese and pickle sandwich, a Bulmers and Stella. What a total rip off. Can't say much about the food as it was a sandwich and basically crisps with melted cheese. Yes there were other options on the menu but I am a vegetarian and the only other option was a mushroom burger and I don't eat mushrooms. The staff were OK, if not a little slow with service and not knowing what table ordered what food in the bar area. If you want to use their gym and are not a guest, you pay £15 for a day pass!!I am sure the rooms are nice but I can't comment on that as I didn't stay there but avoid the food as you'll have to call your bank manager first to see if they will approve your spend.Say no more.

A very convenient hotel, free car parking, right next to the Peartree park and ride, leave your car at the hotel and enjoy the low cost bus ride into Oxford City centre. This is a modern hotel, I live locally but have on a number of occasions recommended friends and family to stay at this hotel, WHY, it is well run, the manager often to be seen welcoming guests, the staff, without exception friendly and efficient. It can be expensive when a special event is on locally but if you see a special offer for a room with breakfast included snap it up, you will not be disappointed.

This place is great for a quick meeting as it has a reasonable lobby. The service is naff and the food mediocre but better than sitting in the KFC next door. If you want a business meeting with no privacy required it's fine. Make sure you check what your food order actually is as I ate 3/4 of somebody else's order before it was pointed out to me I had been given the wrong dish. There are several chicken options so not as crazy as it sounds!

We come to the Holiday Inn in Oxford quite regularly to use the swimming pool at the attached Spirit Health club. Over the past few years, the food here has been a bit mixed and we have had to send food back to the kitchen: steaks asked for medium rare being served well done; cold chips and so on.The Holiday Inn chain seems to change its menu periodically and although it is chain hotel food with very little (if any) variation from location to location. This latest change is for the better. There are still the usual fish and chip, burger and curry style options but the starters have improved. Salad choices are available for the health conscious and the portion sizes seem to have grown. The prawn filo parcel starter was a little on the small size though and quite expensive for the size of the dish. However, it was very tasty.

It's been a while since we visited the restaurant, it's handy if you are staying in the Holiday Inn or even the travel Lodge across the car park, but the food was average with my "Prize winning" steak pie over cooked so that I couldn't cut the crust, sitting in a lake of gravy. Why they can't just put a lttle gravy on and provide more in a little jug I don't know. The garlic mash was not that enjoyable. My wifes beef borguinion was the first I have every seen without any onion at all. Disappointing

Stayed here quite a few times on business recently. First few times in the restaurant it was not bad. The service is good but the food quality is disappointing. If you want to play it safe the steaks are quite good, but often a little over cooked. The real issue, is lack of variety. The menu just doesn't change and you don't even get the option of a Chef's special. Choice of starters is particularly poor and it all feels just a bit like the 70s food wise.Watch for the wine prices - over priced for what it is.Overall, probably a safe option if you cannot be bothered travelling to an alternative, but it really is just middle of the road and as such a bit over priced as well.

The Holiday Inn is - by its very nature and situation - somewhere where business people can meet and greet one another, but because it is also well situated with reference to Oxford - the Park and Ride stop is a few hundred yards away - it's also good for locals to use. I dealt with Christina and her team in arranging a small gathering after a family funeral, and I have to say they surpassed my every expectation. I was expecting more of a finger buffet than the beautifully prepared three-course buffet meal that we got, and we had a discreet corner of the restaurant away from the hustle and bustle of the bar. We were a small party, only 12 of us, and the bill was extremely reasonable. We were well looked after, and I shall certainly use them again for our next family gathering.

Buffett breakfast at the Holiday Inn Oxford is excellent value for money. The staff where very pleasant and helpful despite being very busy. The tea was fresh and hot, served in an individual teapot also good quality freshly brewed carafes of coffee are available. Soya milk was available when I asked. There was a good variety of the usual hot and cold food, bacon, eggs cooked as requested and freshly cooked pancakes, also beans sausage mushrooms and hash browns. the hot food was frequently replenished and toast and freshly baked bread and pastries were freely available. There was a good variety of cereals and fresh juice as well as salad and cold meats, together with a cheese selection included in the price. It was good value for money at £12.50 per person. A good place to go for an early brunch.

Handy location for Oxford, staff friendly, however my room was dire, damp, mould, strong odour dirty bed linen and tepid hot water. The staff said they have just taken it over, but they should not have been letting the room they gave me, it was not fit for habitation. They couldn't offer me another room as they were fully booked, I hope the other guests had better rooms. I did strongly consider sleeping in my car instead, stuck it out though, got up very early and now recovering in Nero's with a strong coffee.
