We had our exercise groups Christmas dinner at Holiday Inn at Tong yesterday and the food was very poor. The complaints were coming in from all tables. Me personally I ordered soup to start with which was very tasty but Luke warm, then my main arrived lasagna which was terrible. It tasted like they had used over cooked vegetables from the day before and made a lasagna with it. I couldn’t eat it at all. Another member of our party couldn’t eat his too. When we complained we were offered something else that the chef could make and then were offered the same lasagna again.Which was refused. This was my Christmas gift from the groups I work with and I left without any main meal. Other complaints were that their meals were too cold, the salmon dry, and the beef too chewy. this was not a nice experience and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The manager said she couldn’t offer a refund but offered free teas and coffees after our meal. I was not happy at all with how the manager dealt with the complaints at all. The manager also said they cooked the same meals for other parties and had no complaints! Making us feel it was us! Not even a sprout in-site on people’s Christmas dinner! Come on holiday inn, no sprouts on people Christmas dinner! 1 out of 10 and that’s for the posh hotel.

This restaurant is finished to a very high standard and the staff are wonderful, the food is on another level, we have just eaten there and had fantastic starters including lamb and fig kebals, and paneer cheese which were both great, then Railwaymans curries, they were the very best, thanks to the wonderful staff and we will be back soon with our friends,,Jeff Gale

If your are looking for outstanding Indian food then you should look no further. the starters were amazing! Succulent Chicken spiced with 3 different flavours was one of the best starter i have ever had. Large pieces of meat oozed flavour and were just the right texture. The Lamb Chops were not the normal dried offerings with no meat but a real delight zinnigng in the pallet with ample meat of the bone. Staff were excellent throughout and the service was attentive. We enjoyed talking with the staff and the Chef made an appearance to receive the congratulations of all in our party of 4. Just go and tell others, simply outstanding! 25 years ago we got married at the then named Tong Village Hotel, our day was so special and our return to celebrate did not disappoint we will be back Mary no doubt you fox!

After a long journey here and just looking for a relaxing experience, I must say this was a good stay. The room was comfortable and had all amenities including bottled water. The restaurant was a revelation providing a really excellent curry (I asked upon ordering if chef could spice it up and he obliged accordingly). There is good parking and the bar has big TVs for those that want them. One down point was the gym, which is in need of massive refurbishment: the rower is broken, the equipment is ancient and there is very little weight there. Overall a very positive stay, will use again

Food selection was very wide and staff very helpful. Breakfast was good and sensibly priced with unlimited tea or coffee

My husband and I went for an Indian meal in the new year and I must say from the moment we walked through the door the staff of the hotel and of the restaurant was out of this world, friendly and a warm welcome was given to us both. The meal was lovely and loads I could not eat it all so asked for a doggy bag, and good price too, we will be going back soon.

Attended for a 40th meal with friends and family. What a disappointment!! The restaurant is beautiful however it took 45 mins for the starter to come. When asked what the lamb curry actually was the description given was "one of the most popular on the menu" no details about the actual ingredients. One starter arrived 10 mins after everyone else and only because we chased it. The lamb Rogan josh was full of fat and gristle. A prawn curry had to be sent back twice because the prawns were raw. There were food on the floor behind us for the whole of the meal. Such a shame.

Love love love the food here. Have pretty much been through the entire indian menu now as its so much better value than the traditional menu. Can't go wrong with it.

Visited the holiday inn for a works Christmas party. Over £60 a head; the food and food service were disappointing to say the least. Waiting for 30 mins plus after a few on the table had already been served their food. The food was disappointing and not even served with dessert. The alcohol was also substandard. Members of another company began to brawl during dinner and the staff stood and watched instead of getting hotel security. Some of the bar staff also desperately require some customer service training. She was offensively impolite and abrupt. Given the choice we wouldn't have stayed over, we would have called it a bad job and gone home! We spent £102 on the room, over £60 each on attending venue, plus our drinks. Credit it where due the room was as you would expect; basics provided and clean; we did however have a newly renovated room. Due to such an abysmal series of events during the evening we wont be going again.

Went to the restaurant on Sunday evening with my wife and granddaughter, it was a feast we had Chilli Paneer and Sikh kebabs to start, then Railwayman's Curries and a Chicken Korma. the food is of the highest standard and cooked to perfection. The décor in the Restaurant is beautiful and if you have not been yet, it really is worth a visit. They also serve an English/Continental menu.

Not the usual Holiday Inn standard - 2 lovely members of staff (reception and room service) Couldn’t ring down for room service so had to order at the bar, no cold Pinot but was offered ice in the wine to cool it down, dinner took 40 minutes to arrive (limp salad and, even though I had asked for dressing on the side, chicken was covered in Caesar sauce. Only one bath towel - no bath mat or hand towel. Two TVs but neither had a remote control and an external aerial had to be brought for one TV. Cracked sink, no plug and cables going through huge holes in the wall. Apparently the hotel is being refurbished so no doubt will be gorgeous in the future. Hope the team rise to the refurbished facilities.

This Hotel is simply appalling in every way! And supposedly a Holiday Inn??? Checked it at 8pm after a long journey, and I explained that I required my King Room to be accessible without stairs as I can’t manage them with heavy bags; Rather than offer assistance with my bags, I was moved into a non refurbished room that was; - Dirty - Ceiling hanging down - Mouldy & hanging off tiles - A TV that just did not work - A very uncomfortable bed - Broken lamp shades - Dirty curtains Dinner was ordered for 1 person at 8.15pm - it had still not arrived by 9pm so gave up!! I’ve stayed before and it was just as bad - but I had been hopeful that with the refurbishment it would have improved - it hasn’t! Worst hotel you’ll ever stay in! Go elsewhere - I will next time

I’m staying in hotel for the night, Just read some other reviews which surprised me, I ate relatively healthy :( I want to try the curry , I had the clay baked items and it was absolutely stunning, mega fresh and the staff and chef very friendly , had a fenugreek roti ❤️❤️ good portions and prices, I’m 2 hrs away and wish this place was near me, lovely 😎😋

Refurbished room very comfortable, clean and modern. Fabulous meal this evening, outstanding decor in restaurant, excellent customer service really can’t fault a thing

We booked into Holiday Inn, always looks in appearance good. What a shock we got they opened a week prior, when booked it online. The hotel building was a shambles holes in ceiling lights hanging down, mattress was patched up with large square patchs under sheet, breakfast food cold milk sour. The only thing that was good staff were friendly.

We visited the newly opened Bollywood Brasserie the make over was excellent. The toilets fantastic. However the service was terrible, the woman spent all her time trying to find her way through an IPad. There was no customer focus or attention.

I had the halloumi burger for dinner which was a bit of a let down to be brutally honest - a slice of halloumi and a portabello mushroom on top. I can’t help but think it could have been a little more creative.

Thanks to Kim who organised an Xmas meal from Active Life to Holiday Inn restaurant we arrived to be showed to our tables in one of the dinning rooms. Really good well organised seating arrangements for our party of neighbours. After we had organised our meal in advance which was served by efficient staff. My meal which consisted of starter Pate main course roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings, Yum Yum! and to finish the most gorgeous chocolate moose. Congratulations to the chef. To say the dinning room was absolutely full a marvellous meal. Thanks once again to Kim for organising a great venue.

Pretty good for a large hotel. Restaurant seemed a huge room with bit too many tables. Menu choice pretty good. Bit of a muddle on order so came in two parts. Friendly and apologetic team sorted it well.

Attended my daughters reception here last night. Colin- amazing friendly guy who coped amazingly well with drunken party people. We were told the room would be tidied and our belongings would be kept in room 4. We woke up to find all our wedding items bagged in black bin liner bags in the entrance to the bar. An expensive centre piece that was there at 8am had disappeared by lunch time. A point we raised to Nicola - who shouldn’t be front of house until she does a customer service course. She wasn’t interested and went on to state she hasn’t seen anyone leaving with it. We realised more items were missing. Nicola checked the kitchen and brought out the vases from the sand ceremony that they had opened but hadn’t been done - these vases were broken during the journey home and the sand was spilt as the box had disappeared so we attempted to carry them loose. There was only the top of the wedding cake left because kitchen staff had taken it among themselves to cut the cake without asking and put it out on tables were nobody was sitting as it was so late in the evening. The whole two tiers were wasted. Nicola carried the cake in her unwashed hands - it wasn’t wrapped up in cling film or on a plate and was plonked on the front desk - again by Nicola. When I attempted to discus the cake and missing items her manner was appalling as she attempted to look down her nose at us she wasn’t capable of stringing a sentence together or offer any productive response to our issues. We decided to draw a line under it and accept our loss as attempting to talk to her was just hard work. She obviously is unable to deal with any issues other than checking customers in and out. I absolutely would not recommend this hotel. It’s a shame because some of the staff are lovely, but then again is that why staff turn over is so high. On a plus breakfast was nice :-)

I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here room looked like it hadn't been upgraded since the 1980s shower didn't work light in bathroom. Poorly fitted uncomfy bed led to poor night's sleep, serious upgrade is needed to the bed rooms

Stayed here in Jan as part of a 2 day meeting with work. Very tired and run down. Room was nice, bathroom was ok just tired. Buzzing noise coming from outside and corridor light on all night which beamed through my door throughout the night. The restaurant was very basic and old fashioned, staff were unique the old gentleman and young waiter seemed like they didn’t have a clue, we witnessed on several occasions coming out with food wandering around with it and then going back in to the kitchen. Wouldn’t have been an issue if the place was packed! Having said that the 2 young girls in the evening had a bit more life in them. Food was nice at both lunches and the evening meal we had paid for. Although the first lunch we had pie, roast potatoes and a bit of veg the plates we were given were side plates, you couldn’t put anything on the plates they were so small. Breakfast was really nice we arrived early in the morning and again some of our party had to ask for plates to be refilled so we could actually eat. Other diners also asked in the morning. Cutlery was dirty, the glasses were disgusting at the meal and also throughout the conference we held. The chairs were tired and stained.

I stayed two nights for my son's wedding ,this hotel needs updating ,rooms were dark with no natural light ,buffet breakfast was ok ,not value for money

We were at holiday inn at tong on sat 6th aug ,our daughter was getting married there ,a few issues at start which were dealt with ,but on the day it was fantastic ,all the staff were fantastic they could not do enough very helpful and friendly ,the food was outstanding cant thank you enough for making our day so special.

i was booked here and when i went out to my VW Passatt the window was smashed and the whole media system was stolen and bodywork damage. NO CCTV and when i spoke to the management team they told me the same happened 4 weeks ago

Large restaurant, steak dinner disappointed very tough meat but replaced albeit with chicken. Breakfast nothing special overall the room service was best

Great place to stay pet friendly, you can bring your dog inside and not have to sit out in the cold we are here on a two stay before going to the urban village for another night before returning back home on Monday, It is in a good location not too far from local towns, the food is really nice not too expensive, drinks are a bit pricey, but aren't all hotels !! The staff are lovely and nothing is too much we are in. Ground floor room, we had a great sleep, my hubby is walking the dog as there is loads of places to walk to close by. We sat outside on the front where there is a nice little area with chairs benches and a pretty little area with plants and roses trees to look at, as it went a bit chilly the staff told us to bring in the dog and sit where ever we wanted, this has never happened when we have stay in the Holiday Inn in Lancaster, we intend to go a few places whilst staying here, there is some local markets so we will start with them.

Fuimos para el almuerzo de domingo hoy como que no había estado aquí por un largo tiempo. Error. El personal no estaba interesado, no una vez preguntar si las cosas estaban mal, la comida fría, los dulces sin sabor, una gran decepción. Sé que es difícil mantener la comida caliente en un asador pero que necesitan para asegurar que es. Es una lástima que el lugar en sí está bien y con la derecha dirección podrían ser genial.

Simplemente otra estancia estupenda, con una buena ubicación y una buena relación calidad-precio excelente personal y servicio briil.

Justo a las afueras de la ciudad por lo que resulta agradable y tranquilo, se ve muy bien, pero suponía un poco cansado por algunos de los bordes, personal muy agradable, atento y educado, comida excelente y variada. Curry era muy bueno, cerveza fresca y diferente ... yo diría que es más un hotel de negocios, era mi habitación un poco desgastado, estaba azulejos rotos en el baño y en una habitación para minusválidos así que tener una ducha un poco extraño con asas en el camino. En general es un gran hotel gran personal, gran comida. Gracias chicos.

We had a lovely Valentine's meal in the resturant, food was amazing!! Mary, Carole, Scott and Andrea were all so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was great. Will DEFO recommend to others and will be booking again soon - massive thankyou to the kitchen staff, food was sooo good!! X

Attended the Michael Buble tribute night with a 3 course dinner, for what we paid it was well worth it. Everywhere was nicely decorated for xmas even the tables had crackers and poppers on. The food was adequate and was nice and hot when served, we have paid more at other places and had worse. Entertainment was great with good music from the dj too. We booked to stay over the room was spacious and clean, breakfast there was plenty of choice of everything with a full English cooked to order. We will definitely be returning for other events.

We were lucky enough to be invited to a wedding and the whole experience was second to none. We had a 3 course wedding breakfast and the next morning we enjoyed a full english, including pastries, toast and juices. The restaurant is spacious and clean with pleasant staff on hand

We were satisfied with the menu on offer. There were wedding parties on both evenings so on the second evening we ate elsewhere.

Nothing to dislike, both breakfasts and dinners, were always well presented, well cooked and hot too!

The BBQ was terrible, did not know who was running the event, it took over 30 minutes to light the BBQ then all that was on offer were very pale sausages, then there was cold corn on the cob, cold wedges and a bit off salad stuff, you had to ask if you wanted a burger. I would not recommend this to anyone . for £10 ahead you are better off going to the greyhound in the village for a meal which we will do in future.The large lady in the green flowy dress seemed to take offence when she heard our comments but did not have the decency to help rectify our disappointment . you have just lost 6 local customers

On this trip we only had breakfast as the restaurant was closed when we arrived at 6pm the night before. We went down expecting a good variety of food but what was on offer was not of good standard - eg the bread was hard

Dined here with 30 or so fellow travelers on a day trip to Haworth, the meal was a traditional Christmas dinner consisting of a soup starter, Turkey and the usual trimmings main course, Christmas pudding and cream dessert followed by coffee.The food was all cooked perfectly and served hot by a very pleasant and professional staff, in all a very pleasant dining experience and a lovely setting to stop off at. I would recommend this restaurant.

Good food, nice staff and a good wedding venue! I've been to several weddings here (I'm a wedding photographer!) and it has always been a good venue to photograph at. I've also eaten here and found the food great!

recently had the unfortunate pleasure of having to stay here,staff all helpful but thats it,booked a double room only to find that i had two singles pushed together, also matresses were on their way out and so sagged in the middle + poor sleep,also heating in room didnt come on till 4.30pm at night so room cold and when it did come on even on high setting barely did the job,restaurant was very poor,very little selection and all food of a fast food style,burger scampi etc...restaurant was always quiet......... no shock really.feel sorry for staff who are let down by a tired old hotel that needs a revamp everywhere.£80 a night,my opinion not worth half that.

Das Essen war in Ordnung, eine gute Auswahl, traditionelle und moderne Küche aus der Region oder dem Ausland. Wie in vielen Hotelrestaurants war die Ambiente nicht top. Die Bedienung war freundlich, aber relativ langsam und etwas weniger aufmerksam.Das Essen ist nicht teuer, was zu einem guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis führt. Dieses Restaurant eignet sich schon, wenn man geschäftlich unterwegs ist, im Hotel übernachtet und nicht viel Zeit oder Lust hat, etwas weiter mit dem Auto zu fahren.

A Christmas Works Dinner should be a joy for all, sadly the Holiday Inn think not...judging by the meal they provided..I chose the Lamb with Horsraddish Sauce I should have known better (Lamb..Horsraddish, shurly shome mishtake) the meat was Mutton,tough, under cooked, another hour in the oven and it might have been tender, the potato was roasted but not crisp, the brussel sprouts,like the carrot came from a tin or frozen , the plate was cold so the gravy such as it was, congealed in the place it met the plate.The only saving grace was the fact that my wife attende for free (it was her works do! ) and it only cost me 15 quid, but the list price was £31 per head....not worth 15 p per head....
