Service staff was friendly, but the rooms and the general condition of the hotel were old and dilapidated. Elevators didn't work and there were repairs everywhere. The beds were uncomfortable, the rooms were very noisy and small. There was no response to email inquiries after booking.

Visited with my family of 5, they had a room with a view to accommodate all of us, a lot of hotels only offer 2 rooms but this was great had a balcony, the room was clean the bathroom had a bath and shower very clean and new. The hospitality was great they had chocolate bars for everyone on each bed they provided and a complimentary stocked fridge. It was very nice and the touches were really appreciated. We were right on the pier, the location is excellent and the price for the room. Was such a bargain.

Despite some negative feedback regarding this hotel being in need of refurbishment. We had a lovely two night break. The location of this hotel is fantastic being on the beach front. You can walk to the promenade in less than two minutes. The town centre is a 10+ minute walk. Accommodation: Our room on the second floor overlooking the sea with a balcony was simply lovely 😍. Amenities in the room were more than expected. With a small well stocked fridge, a Nespresso coffee machine, safe, iron and board, and a TV with good channel choice. The bed was so comfortable and we had a dreamy nights sleep. Pillows were a little hard for our liking but housekeeping quickly sorted this. Parking: There is an underground parking garage at £25 per day. Also, four blue-badge spaces outside the front. Though access could be improved with a direct ramp rather than going around the side. Refurbishment: the hotel is currently going through a modernisation programme. There is currently only one lift working. This cause us no inconvenience. I'm sure once the work is completed this hotel will be amongst the best in Brighton. Breakfast: Amazing choice at the Buffet. Pretty much all you could want. See my photos. Staff were very attentive! A lovely way to start the day. Dog-friendly: for an additional charge of £10 you can bring your furbaby with you. Highly recommended 👌

Lovely breakfast couldn't fault it,room was very clean but could of done with a lick of paint as on the door it was all peeling off. On arrival we got a ticket each for a complimentary drink as the hotel was having some work done, went to the bar to get them only to be told I couldn't get a vodka as it wasn't on the list only wine or beer. Staff on reception were very friendly. I think the Lift up to the rooms was a temporary one and was not good but overall a good stay

Our expectations wernt high as the price seemed too low but everything exceeded our expectations. I booked this for a seaside break with our 2 boys and dog in the half term and it was just perfect! Parking easy and convenient and plenty of it, staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Check in and check out we’re super easy and the room had 2 double beds and we could see the sea from the window. Also loved the complimentary mini bar and crisps in the room which delighted the children. We will 100% stay here again! Thankyou guys

Location is great and it's reasonable value but the rooms are grim. Found twiglets or something on the sofa, the curtains are too small so no lay in allowed, coffee machine didn't work either which when you wake up at 6 45 from sunshine, a coffee would have helped. 2 star only. There are better places to stay

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Brighton for my graduation with my parents, and it was an outstanding experience! The room was comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, offering a great variety of options to kickstart our day. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring the city, making our graduation celebrations even more memorable. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Brighton for anyone looking to combine comfort with excellent service during special occasions!

The hotel itself was very convenient to all the main attractions. The rooms were spacious and well equipment. The shower wasn’t very powerful which was disappointing. The hotel had no heating, there was plug in heaters everywhere but it was still freezing inside. Monday I ate my evening meal with my coat on. From such a massive brand as The Holiday Inn I did expect at least an apology or a good will gesture for future stays within the hotel group

Bit of a disappointing experience in our recent stay here. First of all our room felt like it was shoved in a corner having to walk through 3 sets of doors to get to it - with zero view of anything out the window. On the first night the staff had a party playing incredibly loud music until midnight. The breakfast was decent but there was issues with the doors and heating. There was also only one lift working at the time. The stay was fine but just a few easy things that could have maybe been done better.

If it wasn't for the fabulous staff and location, then would have not given any stars. Deeply dissapointed. The place is in desperate need of repairs, only 1 lift that shakes and makes awful noise, no heating in main hotel and dining area, doors to main bar area don't close properly so the staff have to use plug in heaters to keep clients warm, 2 reception staff to cope with valentine book in, room had no decor and we were out the room from 9am to 4pm and was not serviced. You have inedible staff that will assist with anything and are always polite and smiling... I hope you will give the place the revamp that it so desperately needs.

Booked this hotel through booking.com several months in advance of my trip. Upon check-in was presented with a card machine with an amount half the price of what I was expecting to pay. I (now wrongly) assumed this was a discounted rate based on the renovations happening at the hotel. The hotel overall is in a tired and run down condition (based on the room we had and areas we could see), we didn’t have working heating in the room (something the hotel was aware of as there was a portable plug in radiator in the room). The windows didn’t shut properly and the sliding double glazing certainly didn’t keep the January cold at bay. The bathroom had no ventilation, so once you’ve had your shower, you get a second shower from the condensation dripping from the ceiling. In addition, you couldn’t open the bathroom door to try and air the room as this would set off the fire alarm (if that’s in working condition). To top it all off, I’m fairly certain the gentleman staying in the room next door was up to something unsavoury as you can hear everything through the paper thin walls. Now, here’s the twist. I’d wrongly assumed I’d been given a discounted rate, therefore, I accepted the condition of the room. Had it been made clear at check-in I’d be paying the full, premium rate, I’d have raised my concerns about my room immediately and either requested a different room or cancelled my stay altogether. Unfortunately, there was no invoice issued at check-in, just a payment request, naive on my part. Upon raising a complaint I was told essentially, tough luck, thanks for your custom. I appreciate, and indeed shoulder my responsibility as a consumer; however, avoid booking this hotel unless you’re looking for a run down hotel with stained walls, dirty carpet, mouldy bathroom and no heating. If that’s what you’re looking for, this is the place for you.

I stayed here for one night and have to say overall it was not a bad experience but it was not good either. The location is in a fantastic location, right along the front, and very close to Brighton centre. The service that I received from reception was good overall, they were polite and efficient. The room however for me was not good, I don't know if I was simply unlucky or it could be the hotel needs a bit of TLC. The air-conditioning in my room was not working correctly. Pressing the buttons (with the card inserted correctly) it would not turn on. It had a small electric radiator provided, but this did not keep the room warm in this current weather period. My bed was quite comfortable, but sadly, the duvet cover was quite dirty, I found about three hairs on it. Finally, the shower hot temperature would not go above luke warm and had a fairly weak pressure. For me unfortunately, I will not be returning back to this hotel if I plan to come to Brighton in the future.

My parents booked a 16-night stay, but had to change rooms three times within the first two nights due to non-functional air conditioning, despite assurances it was fixed. The AC continued to emit hot air and displayed error messages. The duty manager Fiona is the most rude and passive aggressive staff member I’ve encountered. A total disgrace to the IHG name. Fiona’s contradictory statements and gaslighting about the AC further exacerbated the situation. My parents had to check out early due to these unresolved issues and the unacceptable conditions. Fire brigade came after 20 minutes or so, they checked things out and we could return to our rooms. Check-out and breakfast were extended by an hour, only too bad the kitchen staff had no idea, not even about the fire alarm. When looking at the pictures one could believe that the whole building is „the hotel“. But in fact only the first five floors are part of it. When being asked (via mail) if I want to upgrade to an upper floor I thought, it would be somewhere between the middle and the top of the building… in fact, we ended up on the third floor, looking on the backyard - barely seeing the sea. It feels like a scam to me. Furthermore, the provided third bed for our son was everything - but not suitable for sleeping. The picture shows the „nice“ view. Never again.

Better than what I expected it to be. Friendly staff and lovely location , which was away from the nightlife but not too far from local attractions, beach front and high street. Most main attractions are a 10-15min walk at most, and I would opt to support local councils cab service if you can do! Like the other reviews suggest, they need to sort that lift out. Lucky there is 2 lifts in total, but I didn’t even use it much because our room was on the 1st floor. We didn’t get a beach view room, but I wish I did now. Rooms are ok, you won’t need to expect much as you will be out most of the time. I would need to comment that I wish room maintenance took place in the early afternoon rather than offering us to tidy the room in the late afternoon - early evening.

Possibly the worst WiFi I've experienced in a hotel. No excuses in 2024 for having such poor connectivity. Trying to get work done or stream anything is not possible. I also got stuck in the car park. As other reviewers have mentioned, the spaces are designed for a bygone era and on not finding a space I tried to leave but couldn't. The assistance button wasn't answered despite multiple attempts and calling the hotel to speak to the front desk also went unanswered. I had to use a residential space, queue at reception for a ticket to then get out and park at Regency just down the road. Stayed here because I'm an IHG member. Lots of platitudes on the review responses but this hotel is clearly lacking in investment.

No one in our party had anything nice to say about the food and there were 11 of us.
