No breakfast after 11am, the sandwiches were good, chips were very nice, coffee was good. Great service, much older crowd

Food was really nice, though the service was really slow. Wasn't that busy, only around five people in the queue.

Food is very expensive for what it is! Toilets are in a terrible state!

Boy if they are serving someone coffee, best to have a book with you ..

Coffee is bitter & some food is very salty. The staff are abrupt & snobby.

Food was ok the chips was warm not very hot and tested like they was refried.

Coffee really let down the meal, have to wait to collect your coffee from the front which wouldn’t be an issue but the food had already come out to our table before our drinks were ready to collect. My latte also had far too much milk in it, I don’t think the lady doing the coffee had been properly trained as quality was low. Nice atmosphere with the garden centre and other customisers but overall let down by FOH

Very slow service but nice coffee and cake.

Dreadful slow service even just to get a coffee when it’s not busy! 2 customers ahead of me today, each ordered one coffee… still took 17 minutes to be served. I think they assume customers will all be retired and not mind standing about. Also had a jacket potato n another occasion, that had been reheated multiple times.

The experience wasn't great. The menu was difficult to navigate due to the fact when going up to order the drinks menu is not on the wall but instead on the side on three laminated pieces of card it was quite busy on this particular day. Therefore, the card was being passed backwards and forwards between different customers it doesn't make it particularly easy for the whole ordering process. We had somebody with us who was vegan and there was one vegan option on the menu which was a cake when this person asked if it was available as we could not see it on the front counter. We were quite rudely spoken to we asked if there was anything else available even if it was prepackaged we were directed to the tiniest option of 3 millionaire square like bars. Unfortunately in this day and age that we are in there should be more of an option for vegan and vegetarian people. The cakes that the rest of us had were not great. The tables were dirty. The staff were somewhat grumpy and rude. However, we did have a nice chat with some other people visiting the cafe.

Brilliant all round place leading to plants and gifts and excellent food and drink.

Love it here. Usually go with my son or friends. Amazing quiches and salads. Soup is delicious and large and so are their Sandwiches. Lovely cake selection, a bit different to the usual. Quirky building.

Went in for a couple of scones, and were suggested the cream teas and we thought, yeah, that'd be nice. Waiting staff brought them out and we thought mmmm, these look great. Scones with 'jam' and cream. The 'jam', however, was of a very thin consistency and extremely sweet, more like a syrup, actually, and it made the whole thing overly sweet. That's not to say we didn't eat it all, though 🤷

The service was nice. It was an older demographic cafe. Nice stop if you are shopping at the shop. Nice chill area. There was outside seating as well. I got a cheese cake:)

Always very busy and staff are overwhelmed,so tables left dirty. The ceiling has marks on which were there at least 2 years ago and still nothing has been done to it...makes the place feel filthy!

A fine frühstück, pot of tea and a hot chocolate. Very friendly staff.

Best garden centre we have been to so far, and believe me my wife drags me to them all!!!

What a disappointment... Cold food, cold coffee (more like flavoured water with milk), over priced and over whelmed staff! Never again!

Service on B&H footballmatch day very good. Staff friendly. Coffee and biscuits very acceptable. Can't comment on the hot food, hence 4 stars, but the prices looked very reasonable.

We went to lunch there with grandchildren but were told that for any main meal there was a wait of 1 hour and 45 minutes! The menu looked OK but sadly we didn't have any of it as we were not prepared to wait that long! Very disappointing.

Food seemed to have been prepared from cheap ingredients. The Peri Peri chicken was definitely reheated leftover chicken or cheap stuff. The salad was tired and had been prepared much earlier. Won't be going back!!

So convenient , very near BGH!!, popped here for a cuppa and a snack, fabulous staff, will definitely revisit .

Bit hit and miss here , sometimes food is not hot enough , sometimes eggs swimmimg in oil, sometimes sausages have no colour 😕 but sometimes it's really nice , and a nice bright restaurant. Be careful sitting outside, seagulls steal your breakfast whilst you are eating it, they love bacon 🥓

Had the fish and chips, just under £10 I think. When I compare it to a cafe I had fish and chips at in London a few weeks ago for the same price, i feel stupid for even wasting my money in London. The quality of the food at Dobbies was fantastic, right down to the tartare sauce. An incredibly busy mother's day Sunday queues were busy as expected but staff kept their cool and the food was brilliant. Only drawback: although the fish tasted fresh and delicious, there was a bit too much batter on it, I removed quite a few un-fishy chunks. But the batter quality was far better than any chip shop. Would recommend

We had the smallest pot if tea I've ever seen with a Doll's House amount of milk and a very small cup + a very large cup of cappuccino definitely "English style" plus one scone. £8.75. I'd consider that expensive and not good value for money. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff.

Great service lovely staff food great

A good selection of hot lunches, nice cakes and very good coffees and teas. All reasonable priced. Great view from the veranda too of the garden centre outdoor plants, shrubs etc. After lunch, a good stroll around the large indoor area plus the added bonus of a Sainsburys local in store. Large car park too. Very enjoyable trip.

Very slow service can't fault the food

Due to Covid had to sit and eat our lunch in the freezing cold as apparenty Dobbies head office had insisted the doors must be left open! poor staff were freezing. We paid £12 each for a Christmas lunch and desert lots of turkey but veg rather over done, the Christmas pud(only choice) was rather over cooked in the microwave with watery custard. Will think twice whether to eat there again and definitely not if the doors are still open.

Very poor selection, couldn't make a coronation chicken sandwich, was told couldn't have kids meal free even though we had ordered fish and chips adult meal. The child mac & cheese was inedible. Toilet in cafe were over flowing. All in all not a good experience.

Pleasant café but I'd like to see more vegan options to encourage other people to move to a diet that is less damaging to the planet that out children will inherit and reduces the suffering and discrimination shown to the animals, that through no fault of their own were not born of human form.

Went up to the Race Hill for my 2nd vaccine jab :) lovely views from up here normally but weather was extremely foggy today. Great coffee (fifi!)

Great food a real pleasure to go back to a descent cafe

Lovely surroundings in a garden centre. Food freshly cooked but initial queue to place the order horrendously slow. As there's a good lunch menu it's a shame that the restaurant is not licenced as a glass of wine with lunch is always a treat.

Could do with some refurbishment, as looking a bit tired in places. Would have thought this could have been done whilst closed during the lockdown.

Very relaxing nice to be out with a friend

Good food especially if you're looking for a vegan menu. I'm not totally just 'mainly vegan' so I could have some very tasty dairy-based brie on my vegan BLT. The vegan bacon was really good. Friendly service. I thought being sat outside by the road would have felt loud and noisy but I actually didn't notice that much. Recommended.

This restaurant has very much improved since it was taken over by Dobbies! You get served much more quickly and prices are competitive. I think the cooked breakfasts are absolutely superb! In fact, the best I've had in comparison to anywhere else I've been to!!☺️

Sad to find this is now a very sub standard cafe. Scones puffed up and tasting of cream of tartar, indifferent beverages and poor cakes. Won't be returning.

My wife and I go to this cafe a lot. It has good coffee, tea, cake and food. I enjoy thier breakfast's as well. Not always the cheapest but they do discount card for 10 pounds a year which also works in the garden center. You get a number of free coffees and teas on your card a year, and it gets you discounts on your plants and other stuff. They also randomly apply offers to your card as well.

Can't handle large amount of people, not enough trained staff .

Not too bad, we only had tea, coffee and sandwiches, so it would be pretty difficult to mess that up and they didn't, not a bad selection of food on offer, the only criticism is that the staff could tighten up service a little and be a bit more efficient serving but I'm not sure if it's a new team or not so I'll give them the benefit of doubt, not bad but had better.

Not good,had to wait 10 minutes for person to come and see me for me to book a table for 29th November, only to be told the guy on the till could have booked it aftet all🤬 . Hope service and meal will be better on the day. They were not busy when i went either.

The fish and chips was not nice. The fish was dry and tasteless, the chips looked and tasted like heated up chips and the gardens peas were like bullets. Apple pie not available even though we prebookedas a Club. I had the cheesecake which was ok but nothing special. My fellow club members who had fish all thought the same as me except for one. It was mentioned to the staff (who were great) and we were told that the fish comes from 2 different suppliers and todays was a bit different looking but fresh. Well all I can say is, the cooking of it ruined it and the batter was less than good.

I had a full English breakfast and, I must admit I was very impressed. Cooked to an excellent standard and with high quality ingredients. Very tasty and a competitive price too! Friendly staff and certainly improved service since Dobbies has taken over from Wyevale! One very satisfied customer!! ☺️ 👍

Arrived on Sunday @ 2:20 to be told that no scones, jam,cream available on 2 for 1 offers advertised on large A display board in entrance was available, offer advertised as available after 2pm, despite there being pots of jam, scones and clotted cream for sale, staff not interested when I suggested the board be removed and said that the scone offer was only for scones that were already made up? Food that we did have was fresh, hot and satisfactory

Place gone down hill the menu not very good and the food not great .The garden centre has taken a big step back wards would not recommend and probably not go back

Great range of plants, pet, cut flowers and clothing outlet as well as an excellent cafe. Pensioners and club members can earn discounts.

Very good tea but never seem to have enough staff to cover .

Food service is ridiculously slow. Two tills but only one person on - other young girls standing around with nothing to do... No sign of a shift manager to mention it to either. I see many reviews like this so Wyevale clearly don't care about this! Save your money (and time) And eat elsewhere!

The place is very nice . The canteen has young staff has been learned the management slowly but served well.

Food was ok but service was very slow. A lot of tables had used plates and cups etc and these should have been cleared away. Won't be rushing back.

Not very good today, pot of tea for two had one teabag in it, I like it weak but that's a bit much. Waited 40 minutes for chips whilst people who came in after me got their food, went in search of the missing food and was fobbed off by a slightly rude supervisor who said they didn't have the right table number!! No apology, not usually the customers fault if the system doesn't work!! It was a shame as it's usually much better in there

Reasonably priced and exceptionally tasty food. Only drawback I've really found is that the staff can sometimes feel aloof when serving you.

Very busy, slow service & average food

Reasonable mix of cakes and light bites but service when busy rather slow and a longer than expected wait for food. Seating not particularly comfortable and tables very close together although it is better in warmer weather when the outdoor terrace can be used. Having said all that it does seem to be quite popular especially around lunchtime so they must be doing something right.

The wait here is always excruciating. No wonder they cater for so many funerals.

A good stop for tea and cake if you are at the garden center. Service can be quite slow.

The coffee and cakes here are lovely, just wish the service wasn't so slow. If the service improved I would happily give five stars.
