Great hotel with lovely staff, clean rooms , but pool can be busy at times. One complaint I have though is that a maid put my pyjamas somewhere under the duvet and scared me when I saw her because I thought my pyjamas had been stolen. I had left them on top of the bed and would have prefered her to leave them as I'd left it and because of the lack of her not being English she couldnt understand what I was meaning.

My wife and I visited the bar and restaurant as we have done many times before. We immediately noticed the new decor which we found a step backwards and utterly unnecessary. We ordered two glasses of wine and some nachos. The wines were delicious, but the nachos were covered in the cheapest version of processed cheese. This was unexpected and very disappointing; particularly considering that the Michelin star chef Marco Pierre White has his name next to the nachos on the menu. I would be extremely embarrassed if I was Mr White, and I would ensure the cheese quality was improved immediately. Thank you.

Went for out xmas night out and the food was awful, so overpriced for what we got Charged £32 a head and the food was so bland and the size of the portion was a joke We had a three course meal and we was all still hungry afterwards. The turkey tasted like it was from a packet and certainly wasn’t fresh and I’m sure it was frozen roast potatoes and as for the starter 😳 a bit of cheese with a salad and the pudding tasted like angel delight . We was all squashed into a little room so not enough room on the dance floor for us all to dance . The bar was a make shift one outside the room . We couldn’t fault the staff in all fairness they was lovely and very friendly and the dj was good just think it’s very overpriced for the quality of food we had. I went to the Toby Friday night and paid £6.99 for a roast and it knocked spots of the food at the holiday inn. Very disappointed indeed and certainly wouldn’t be booking our Xmas do here again

Staying away on business is difficult sometimes. This hotel is home away home. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is excellent. Facilities are amazing, there’s a gym and a pool below ground. The hotel isn’t modern but that doesn’t matter. The bar area is large and clean, Eduardo runs the bar . The restaurant is next to the bar area, you can eat in the bar or the restaurant . The restaurant has a varied menu and daily specials. The prices are average and the quality is amazing, I must mention Louisa, always smiling and is a huge asset to the hotel. I’ve worked away a lot over the years and I must say this hotel is one of the most friendly. Staying here regular the room rate doesn’t sky rocket when there is as concert in the area. The staff work very hard and chat with you. The staff and facilities make it an enjoyable place to stay. Two huge assets to the hotel are Louisa and Eduardo, congratulations. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Visited the restaurant with GT racing drivers who were attending an event at Silverstone Circuit. Two of us ordered "The Works" burgers (with bacon, cheese and onion rings) and others ordered chicken burgers. Our burgers arrived, not "The Works" but the most basic kind, one dry charred beef patty between two bits of dry ciabatta bread, NO cheese, NO bacon, NO onion rings. The only edible thing was the fries. Our friends' chicken burgers were mistaken for chicken breasts on a bed of asparagus. The only thing the waitress got right was the beer and the sparkling water. Some of us decided to order ice cream for dessert. The ice cream consisted in two very small scoops, in fact they were the size of a big marble. I hope the rest of the hotel is better than the restaurant as this was a complete disaster. Never again.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

I stayed at the hotel with my fiancé when we went to see Jimmy Carr at the MK theatre and I left nothing short of very very happy! The staff are so friendly, anything they can do to make your stay better is not any trouble. For example I forgot conditioner for the shower and had only brought shampoo. I tried my luck with housekeeping and here they were, at my hotel room door with two bottles of conditioner for me. The lady that checked us in and out was called Alice and I couldn't believe her badge said 'trainee'! she was so lovely and tried to make sure we were happy with everything. She was there when we got back from the theatre and was happily asking how it went and making conversation and overall she made us feel so welcome. We ordered room service at around 11pm and the food was exquisite- the only thing I'd say is that the night menu is quite limited. Other than that I was really happy with it all. There was a bit of a hiccup with the order as I had ordered Mac and Cheese which was on the 24/7 menu, however they'd recently taken it off. Because of this I'd ordered something that was more cost however out of kindness they kept it to the price of the Mac and Cheese which I thought was nice of the lady. We also made use of the health club that is accessible for guests staying at the hotel. The steam room was nice and the pool okay, we only spent half an hour in there all together as there were a lot of children (not an issue, but was just hard to swim lengths). One thing I'd say about this was that for first time guests it's slightly confusing and the receptionist isn't exactly helpful in any way - when signing in you have to take a code to be able to get into the changing rooms, and once you're in there it's a pound to hire a locker. There are only to sun loungers and people were using them as somewhere to put their bags so I wouldn't count on being able to use one! Other than that it was good and I think it's a nice idea offering guests free use of the facility. The room itself was nice and comfortable, I would go so far to say stylish and modern. Very comfy bed and all areas clean, love the little touches added to the room like the tourist book of Buckinghamshire. The location is great- right outside the big MK mall and you can access this by simply walking under an underpass. Theatre district with all the restaurants and clubs only a short walk away (10 mins at most) however it was way too cold to walk this in Jan so a taxi fare was £4 if you use the hotel's taxi company 'Skyline'. The hotel gives you a reference note to show the taxi driver when you book at reception. Parking was £6 for overnight, in the hotel car park. The hotel is literally surrounded by car parks 'standard rate and premium rate' tariffs so if you don't want to pay this I'm sure you can stay in the standard rate but I think this is only £0.50p less. Breakfast as the hotel was absolutely fabulous - such a big variety of food and the staff are once again lovely. Offer you tea and coffee and again through out your meal. Over all this was a great place to stay and I want to stay here again! Thanks for having us Hotel Inn!

The staff were not professional, the barman did not even wait for me to reached the bar, he just yelled from one end of the bar, and kept refering to me as mate (might be ok if you are a man). He took so long to bring the coffee over, I had to check to see if he had forgotten.

Booked this hotel for a second time as had a great time on first visit. Booked online through their own website for a Sunday night with 3 course dinner. Had eaten in restaurant on first visit and was excellent. On arrival we were informed they had a function on in the evening so not sure at that point where we would have dinner. We had also paid for a room that included dressing gown, slippers and complimentary snacks and hot drinks. However when we arrived in the room snacks consisted of 1 packet of crisps, 1 Mars bar and a bottle of still and sparkling water. There was one sachet of hot chocolate. I mentioned at reception that we were disappointed especially as there were 2 of us and later they put one more of each in the room. Therefore don't bother booking for the upgrade of this. Also at night when ready for bed, I noticed there were no dressing gowns/slippers. We booked a table for dinner at 7pm. When we went to reception to find out where we were eating, she said 'we don't offer dinner on Sundays'. I said we had paid for this. She tried to blame it on if we had booked through an agent but I said we booked through their own website. She said to mention to the barman. When I did he again said we don't offer dinner on Sunday. By this time I was getting a bit fed up (nothing was mentioned when we checked in). In the end they said we could order from the bar menu and eat in the bar. We did but really disappointed. I had a starter of Chorizo and new potatoes which was 3 small new potatoes cut in half with some chopped Chorizo. Followed by Macaroni Cheese which was covered in a very sickly thick sauce. On check out they reduced the bill for us but I would of happily paid for what I had been expecting. The receptionist asked if I would like the Manager to call me after departure and I said yes. However, never received a call. I had happily recommended this hotel from the first visit but will find an alternative next time. Suggest you ignore breakfast charge as plenty of options in the shopping centre.Positive - they have a nice swimming pool but it could do with better changing facilities.

This is the first time I have stayed at a holiday inn so again the first time I have eaten here. We had both an evening meal and breakfast so I feel it is only fair I comment on both. The evening meal I had soup which was spot on , followed by the main course which was for me a chicken stacker very good with fries. The wife had a chilli concarne with rice and nachos which she thoroughly enjoyed. The service was excellent drinks when requested so will have to give this one full marks! So onto breakfast and rather than repeat myself I will just say this was one of the best breakfast that my wife and me have had, with charming service. As we didn't have much time, we chose to have our main meal in the meeting area behind the lobby where there there is a bar and food servery. The menu was pretty extensive and we were able to choose from a wide range of cusines. The meal was fine. It wasn't as good as the hotel experience itself, but it was fine for what it was. We chose the steak, thinking that would be a good option but in fact it was bit tough. We should have chosen a safer option perhaps. I would definitely stay at the hotel again but would have dinner elsewhere and stick to eating snacks in the meeting area instead of our main meal there.

Evening dinner... Ordered a glass of red from the very limited selection and then opted for the lamp shank and at £19.95 in a holiday in and the most expensive choice on the menu I was hoping for something good. I clearly had misplaced expectations as it resembled and tasted like a microwave meal. It was edible (when hungry and under the suspicion there isn't much better here) but it was disappointing. Dessert was a brownie with ice-cream which was nothing special but ok. The best thing was the Starbucks coffee at the end. Next time I won't be as lazy and will venture outside the hotel walls.

We were in the bar from 7.15 and no one else went in. We had a 3 course meal and all the course were good. A special mention to Arthur who was very attentive and pleasent. The breakfast in the morning was also good. The only minor things were the bed was not overly comfortable and the room was either too hot with no A/C on to cold and noisey with it on and having to pay £6 car parking!. Bad points...there was an all male gathering and they came back to their rooms at 4 am waking us up with their drunken behaviour, I thought hotels had stopped this sort of anti social British behaviour. This wrecked an otherwise nice weekend. Checked out very tired and fed up!!'n had diner Saturday night in restaurant. The food was unimaginative and a poor selection. Basically pub grub at restaurant prices. Bathroom was not clean this always lets a place down in my estimations. Overall an overpriced £175 for band b with an evening meal. To top it off they wanted £16 to use wi go Internet and also the final insult £6 to park my car overnight. For these issues will not be staying here again 3 out of 5.

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn, Milton Keynes earlier this month. For dinner that night, we did not feel like going to the MK shopping centre where there were numerous good restaurants, so we opted to stay in the hotel. The restaurant was sparsely populated and looked fairly cold and unwelcoming, so did not inspire confidence in the quality of anything other than the reasonably straightforward dished. We were shown to a table and we sat down to await the attention of our waiter for the evening. A very pleasant and helpful young man arrived with one meal menu and a wine menu.I said, could we have another menu please - he looked quite astonished and said in surprised tone "You want two menus?" We then made the mistake of asking for two Kirs while we decided what we wanted to eat - a few minutes passed and the waiter returned to ask what a Kir was. We tried to explain that it was white wine and Cassis, but he clearly had little idea what we were talking about. We said, "look tell your barman what we want he will know, so don't worry" - He returned quite a while later, with two glasses of white wine! The young man in question was very charming and wanted to be helpful, but had obviously been given little or no training. We ordered, and enjoyed, the beefburgers, but we were not brave enough to try any of the mmore fancy dishes. However, we enjoyed the meal and were amused by the mishaps, so we were not disappointed.

Would have been better going to McDonalds...... we went to the cafe here at 12:30 on a Friday and it didn't look busy. Waitress who took out order advised there was a 30 minute wait on food which would have been fine however, after an hour we were still waiting. When the food finally appeared it was clear that some of it wasn't fresh, peas were hard, beans congealed and toasties were hard. Food didn't all come out at the same time and there was no apology from the staff. Shame because the actual garden centre is lovely but next time we will either go to Frosts or elsewhere.

Typical pub which has only modernised a little so still has the true pub atmosphere. Gone is the smoky environment and considerably brighter than the old days but still recognisable as a pub with staff of the ‘old school’. Good range of food though and on this visit we had the most delicious Lasagne which was served with an excellent Garlic bread and nice salad. Add a bottle of wine, couple of deserts and the bill of £56 was not bad at all.
