Hoi's Chinese Takeway in Portsmouth

I always get a good meal from this place. The trouble with all these Delivery Apps, you have such a wealth of takeaways to select from, and knowing which one to go for can be a minefield. Lucky Panda is a good bet. What I like about them most of all, they are consistent, and the food is tasty, it actually tastes like Chinese when so of these places, well, the food can be bland. Definitely worth a try if you have never had a Chinese locally before.

Great takeaway, never ever had an issue with food quality here, staff are great and polite what more can you ask for?

Ordered here this evening for the first time after hearing good things about the new people running it. The food was incredible. We had chow mein, sweet and sour king prawns and salt and chilli chicken. All of it really tasty without being overly salty or sweet like you get in some Chinese. The lady on the counter was super friendly as well. Highly recommended and we will be back again :)

Consistently delicious meals! Everything tastes freshly cooked, the portions are generous and delivery is super quick. Definitely my go to for a perfect Chinese takeaway

Ordered sweet n sour chicken balls cut one open meat was pinky purple disgusting. Threw the whole meal out, ate here last week or so got ill put it down as coincidence as no one else in family was ill. This time I'm definitely never ordering from here again. I dread to think how ill I would of been if I just ate it

Tried lucky panda for the 1st time as our usual Chinese was closed for a holiday, we really pleased with the food very tasty good value for money came quicker than expected and it was all really hot too. Looks like we have found a new Chinese.

I find this the best Chinese takeaway I have had in years. Haven't had a bad meal the new box meals are great and service is very quick.. I always order direct would recommend this tale away

Ordered thru Ubereats first time using Lucky Panda and the food was very good and piping hot. Particularly enjoyed the sweet n sour king prawns. Delicious.

We made a mistake on our order and left someone’s meal out, I called up and it away delivered within 10 minutes. Amazing customer service and really friendly staff. Food was fantastic as well.

I feel this is the best chinese food.. Chicken balls, chips chili salt, nasi goreng, and beef curry thats all my favourites menu in Lucky Panda.. And i think you should to try it..

Been using this take away for years..the food is excellent and plentiful..the set meal for 1 is plenty for 2 and they offer a delivery service. Staff very friendly and food is always cooked fresh. 10/10

Found the foot to be rather bland compared to other local Chinese restaurants. Decided to try something new with a chop Sui with cashew nuts. Chat say I was only pleased. The fish was very slimey and just tasted bland. The rice is nice but again very average. Spring rolls were nice and crispy and the curry sauce was nice.

Service: Ordered through Uber eats. Driver just put order on the floor as I opened the door like I was a wild animal. Food : Spring rolls had a maximum of 1 bean sprout and a shred of carrot in each, basically just pastry without filling Duck pancake, the duck was not even shredded and the portion of actual edible meat was pretty poor, not a 10 pancake portion, maybe 5/6 at best Satay skewers we’re nice tho

We ordered box1, shredded chilli beef, egg fried rice, chicken black bean sauce and mixed vegetables. Very tasty meal. Will be ordering again.

I have been a regular customer of this Chinese for about 4 years and the food has not massively gone downhill. I ordered a chicken curry and is tastes and smells burnt other than that it is now tasteless. The rice is undercooked and still hard , the texture and shape of the chicken is suspiciously fake , will not be ordering from here again.

Lucky Panda used to be the best chinese but in recent months its just gone downhill! I’ve been using them for about 2 years but the Food is becoming tasteless and just not the worth the money any more. Im not one to moan about the price especially when its good food but tonights take away wasn’t up to scratch! I’ll be trying somewhere new next time as the last few orders/take aways have been awful.

Not the worst Chinese takeaway I've ever had but not particularly good either. My wife ordered char siu and siu ngaap (barbeque pork and barbeque duck) mixed, except that it was two thirds mung beans concealed by a thin layer at the top of the above. Even the char siu that it contained was overcooked and tough. The other thing, not sure what it was supposed to be, a couple of prawns and the rest just fried onions and sauce. Thai green beef curry... well it did contain some beef and was curry flavoured, but didn't taste remotely like Thai green curry, which depends partly on the coconut milk/cream for flavour, and there wasn't any coconut flavour at all. It was just a dark green vaguely curried dish. I was looking forward to trying this takeaway out but was thoroughly disappointed and forced to apologise to the wife repeatedly due to the poor quality.

Best in the town not ur average Chinese either. The food is out of this world but i think has an influence from the family that run it also lovely people. Food made with love

The food is always hot and very tasty, this is now our regular Chinese takeaway.

The food was very good. Loved the curry and the chicken with garlic salt.

Food and the amount you get has gone down hill so much we're looking for another Chinese after 2 years of none stop use shame as use to be the second best in Portsmouth

Had a delivery Saturday night and it was disgusting. The rice wasn't even cooked and still hard, beef with mushrooms tasted fishy and very unpleasant, and the chicken foo young was bland and watery with no seasoning. I was recommended by a neighbor friend. So it's obviously gone downhill since then. Don't waste your time and money. I emailed and they didn't even respond.

Been a regular customer of theirs for years now, but unfortunately won't be ordering from them any more. Ordered some food tonight which wasn't up to their usual standard so we asked for a refund. They made us box up the leftovers so they could come collect it as they clearly didn't trust us. You would think that ordering for years without ever complaining/asking for a refund once would be a good indication that we're trustworthy customers! Good food most of the time but clearly terrible customer service.

Before even eating the food I’m disgusted 2.5 hours wait for our dinner called at 6.45pm and now 9.20pm and my food is still not here!!! Furious

Our go to Chinese takeaway in Portsmouth, never had a bad meal from here. Especially love the chow mein and their curries are wonderful. Staff always friendly, my only complaint is that they are not open seven days a week (closed Tuesday).

Ordered through just eat....took nearly an hour. Small, tasteless portions, cost £17. Will not be ordering again👎👎

Choose lucky panda after reading reviews and tbh the only bad thing about this meal os I’m now sat with a very uncomfortable tummy because I couldn’t stop eating it 😅🥰. BEST CHINESE BY FAR!! Even the baby enjoyed some 👍🏼 Definitely ordering again. Thank you from mild satay sauce 😆

Poor phone service ended up providing a meal with meat for a vegetarian. Had hoped based on reviews this would be a great evening take away - it wasn't. Additionally one of .the worst locations on portsPorts to park and collect the takeaway.
