First time ordering from this restaurant, so disappointed. The whole meal was a disappointment. Rice was stale as were the prawn crackers. The fried chicken dumplings were over fried, like eating cardboard. The crispy shredded chilli beef was lukewarm, didn’t taste fresh. Won’t be ordering from here again

Amazing taste, all great temperature!

The butterfly prawns were burnt and we couldn’t eat them. Thankfully everything else was good but given the price of the prawns it’s a lot of money when we had to throw them away

I found a insect in my spring roll. Subsequently had to bin the whole order and I am still waiting on a full refund. Do not order from this place.

Bit disappointed that neither of the dishes had any sauce, so all in a bit of a dry choice. Good duck though

I have had a few bad Chinese meals recently and this was my final try with a different restaurant. Wow!! What a fantastic meal, the food was delicious, so flavourful and it’s made me want to eat it again! Thank you!! I will definitely be back

bbq pork chow mein and chicken balls were very nice. Not much meat.. Only thing I didn't like very much was the sweet & sour sauce as it was very watery. But over all I'd say a 7 /10.

Really going downhill which is a travesty. Chicken batter so tough, prawns rubbery and really overcooked, this has happened a few times of late; please sort it out.

The ribs were on the bottom of the satay chicken with peanuts and sauce all over the ribs which was awful and we could not eat them, thr seaweed was very stale and hard, and there were no free crackers, I’ve been ordering here for a while and this is the first time I’ve been really disappointed with the food,

Surprised but everything tasted awful. Crispy beef tasted like strong fish... The satay chicken like rubber. Has it changed orders? Not gonna order again...

Food was bland and cardboard in texture. Ordered a Special Fried rice, it came with very few pieces in, wasn't fried and had no egg in. Very disappointed. Not worth the £40 paid for the two meals (no drinks).

I had a disappointing experience with this restaurant. After placing an order, it was rejected with the explanation that I live too far, even though the restaurant is just a 13-minute drive from my house. When I called to inquire, the response was unfriendly and lacked professionalism. I hope they can address these issues for a better customer experience in the future

Most of the food came at the right time but no prawn crackers even though we paid for them. Called the restaurant and they said they'd send some out. It's been over half an hour and we're still waiting.

Normally meat is great but chicken was hard and chewy and beef was tough and stringy. When spat out chicken after a long chew it was literally in long stringy strands. not up to the normal standard

Had delivery from here today for my daughter’s birthday. The only dish that had flavour and seasoning was the crispy beef. The beef chow mein had no flavour and beef was tough and noodles dry, chicken in black bean sauce was ok, udon with mixed meat was bland and dry. Seaweed was nice and veg spring rolls were ok. All in all £65 spent and the only thing that was eaten was the crispy beef, seaweed and spring rolls and a little of the chicken as only one person out of 4 liked it. Sorry, will never order from you again or recommend . Food wasted and birthday dinner spoilt

Have used Ho Lok many times before and will continue to do so, never had an issue with the food or delivery, 5 stars every time.

The food was nice enough. The chow mein is quite dry and the satay chicken was pretty awful but the rest was fine.

Bland noodle dishes with no flavour, spring rolls tasted like they’d been warmed up, no satay sauce, very disappointed - not ordering from here again unfortunately!!

Haven't ordered from Ho Lok for a while but not as good as it used to be. Noodles were gelatinous and the sweet & sour was mainly sauce - hardly any chicken. Disappointed.

good food, they listen to your requests for no veg as my kids are such picky eaters. best beef in black bean sauce i have ever had, beef is tender and not too chewy like other takeaways i’ve had! would recommend.

Insipid, tasteless and overpriced. The stock in the wonton soup was like water.

Food was obviously part of multiple delivery and was only warm. Quantities were very small for the expensive price.

Salt and pepper wings are normally much better, not enough salt and pepper in my opinion which is a shame as the wings looked good

Prawn toast had no prawns, noodles were dry with no taste. Squid was not squid. Won’t be ordering again.

Came really early, the food was OK. Doesn't justify the higher price point compared to other local places.

Everything we ordered was nice. Have had better egg fried rice from other places, however would definitely order from here again. Ducks rolls were great!

Good food, good quality, delivered promptly and affordable

At my retirement block we use Ho Lok quite often - always thrilled with the quality of the food and it's still hot when we get it. We will continue to use them in future - great value. Our only gripe is that the delivery instructions of how to use our Entryphone system are ALWAYS ignored by the drivers - and they end up thumping on the communal front door to gain attention!

Food had NO FLAVOUR at all. My 7 year old could produce a better meal. Hospital food tastes more flavourful then both dishes I ordered. Never wasting my money again and I'm still so hungry!

Excellent service and food as always, Ho Lok is our go to for Chinese food with our favourites being the grilled pork dumplings.
