i have to say the food is amazing - sad to see that if you order coffee over priced and see the coffee fancy machine getting a table spoon of shop bought granule nescafe imposter as a value worthy of paying coffee for the price and same as always with your soft drinks and high charges on cheap fruit juice......young staff are great but sad to see manager eating his dinner behind the bar, very unprofessional and bossing his young lovely team around but making no effort to lead by example....eat in the kitchen or at least sit at one of your empty tables...also dont tip as the young staff dont get it BUT REMEMBER, AMAZING FOOD, GREAT YOUNG STAFF, DONT GET A NESCAFE COFFEE FOR 5 QUID haaha

Family meal to celebrate my daughter and her family moving to Kilsyth. My son in law popped in for a takeaway and on his recommendation we booked for 10 adults and 4 children. The welcome was very warm and we were presented with our table. The menu was varied and looked very good value. We settled in with Poppadoms and dips as an appetiser, followed by five portions of Pakora fish, chicken x2, haggis and vegetable. I personally had the mixed veg madras and it was divine thoroughly enjoyable and that was the concensus of the whole group. The only dampner was that we could not have dessert due to bulging stomachs. Our server Fahreen was superb and ensured that the drinks were refreshed at regular intervals. We were there for about two and a half hours enjoying the ambience and the food. We will be returning on a regular basis. Thank you to one and all. Let's not forget the kitchen team who prepared our banquet.

Don’t be put off by the entry to this restaurant or the rather Spartan interior, the food is really good! Staff attentive and welcoming, portions good and food yummy. Set menu - three courses £12.95 with extra cost for tandoori dishes is very good value and a la carte a great range of options. Only wee thing is food was a wee bit too salty, especially king prawn tikka. Otherwise lovely. Recommend a visit

Called in for a takeaway, but it looked so good we decided to stay. We weren't disappointed! The food was delicious -the Railway Lamb surpassed even our favourite local restaurant's version. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Having known Sunder from his previous role elsewhere as restaurant manager, I was very keen to try out his new venture. Himali is in the centre of Kilsyth above the Scarecrow bar and restaurant so you will need to be able to take the stairs up to the first floor. There is free parking available next to the restaurant too so it is ideally located for both local customers and those from that little bit further afield. On entering, we were met by smiling pleasant and friendly staff then by Sunder himself. The restaurant is relatively small in size but well laid out. We were on Table 13 and I would guess that is about the number of tables in there so it’s by no means overly small and when full I would imagine it packs a good atmosphere. We were there early (just before 5pm) on a Saturday so it was relatively quiet although there were another 3 tables occupied and 3 more parties arrived while we were there. There was also a number of take aways going out the door too so there is clearly ongoing custom. The menu was as you would expect from an Indian restaurant with a few special dishes designed & named uniquely as signature dishes. We had poppadoms and spiced onions….they were crisp and fresh. Some places unfortunately serve stale or soggy poppadoms so I was pleased from the outset with these appetisers. We then had mushroom and vegetable pakora….both crisp and fresh, served well and both very tasty…,another winner! Next, I opted for the chicken tikka sizzler main. This is normally served with salad, sauce and rice as standard in most restaurants but I was pleasantly surprised to see that Himali give the option of Pilau rice, plain rice or plain naan. I opted to skip the rice and take the naan instead. The tikka was fresh and sizzling when it arrived with plenty of onions and a wedge of lemon. The sauce was tasty and fresh too. The naan was a good size, buttered well and tasty. My girlfriend had Himali korma…a delicately spiced korma with mushroom rice. Again both were received well…fresh & tasty. All in all, it was a good tasty feed. Fresh food served well by friendly staff in a pleasant atmosphere. Price was what you would expect to pay for a good quality meal so it is not overly expensive and we were more than happy paying what we did for the food we had. Thanks Sunder….we will be back for sure and I’d definitely recommend you give it a go.

Used to be really good, now it has a new owner and no drinks license. Didn't eat there because of this. Went to another restaurant instead

We occasionally get a takeaway from Rasa having followed them to the Village from their previous takeaway called Maska. We have always enjoyed the meals and told everyone how good the Peshwari Nan's were. Unfortunately during our last takeaway, you would have thought they were plain Nans - very little flavour. We have noticed the curry portions are getting smaller i.e. less meat / more sauce. We can't fault the staff who are always very friendly. Please take note.............

Food was awful very bland. You would always get a good curry out of here but a jar of sauce out the supermarket tastes much better... it has taste... will not be returning... only positive from our meal was the naan bread. It was small but the tastiest part of the meal. Would not recommend 😕

Phoned asked for recommendations as this was my first time trying informed the manager I loved lamb biriani but I would like a curry so I went with garlic chili lamb what I didn’t realise rice wasn’t included or wasn’t informed. Payed £35 for 1 starter 1 lamb curry 1 garlic nan/ popadoms. Starter and Curry was lovely lamb wasn’t soft though.
