Some takeaway from this place most recently. Certainly a good selection on their menu. I am more excited to hear about their most recent announcement that they are undergoing management change and is being taken over by Everest Lounge group. EL is best rated Nepalese,Indain and Tibetan food in Market Haroborugh. Hopefully not long to wait. The change will certainly enhance the quality of Himalayan Inn.

Excellent and Naan bread was beautiful and thin. First time Nepal curry. Both of us had excellent meal.

Very tasty food with some different choices than your usual Indian. Served hot and in good time. Would really recommend. Was very quiet but these are strange times. Very pleasant staff.

Weekday quiet with few customers. Friendly welcome, white tablecloths,napkins and fresh flowers. Time given to browse the varied menue.Order taken, with a smile, food brought out speedily and thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely something different but delicious.

Went in for dinner tonight on a whim and had the vegetarian set menu. Left having easily had one of the top three tarka dhal’s of my life! Absolutely fantastic and wonderful service. Thank you Himalayan, we will be back!!!

Pleasantly decorated and furnished, this is matched by a good menu, all of which was delicious (loved the Gurkha chicken). We were a table of 4, taking the recommended 2 course bundle, plus desserts and it was all great value. Friendly and professional manager too.

Been here a few times with friends and family. Kumar is usually the one that serves us. Always recieve amazing service from Kumar. Food is delicious, they cater for non veg and veg. 100% happy customer. 😁

I asked the taxi driver to take me to the best “Indian” restaurant in town, you never know if they’re putting business a friends way or doing what you asked. As it’s the only one I’ve been to on a nostalgic trip to the town, you might reasonably ask how I’d now know if indeed it is? It’s excellent, the food was outstandingly tasty. It’s spacious inside, moderately busy, couple of pubs opposite, both good pre dinner haunts. The boss, owner, waiter seemed all rolled into one, he was so accommodating , genuinely helpful and friendly. Cobra on draft, always welcome rather than bottled. It’s hard to wax lyrical about poppadoms, but even they were exceptional with mixed chutneys. The dumpling starter was just so well cooked and delish, beautifully presented. I had a very leisurely meal, the food arrived when I wanted it, no hassle totally laidback. The Gurkha main of a medium to hot curry off a very comprehensive menu was great, more than ample , the pilau rice full of subtle herbs and spices , the Nepalese veg dish, really good. The Naan also good,didn’t need it with a very ample meal actually Why it’s not full of folk, no idea, it truly must be amongst the best? It won’t be the cheapest,but it wasn’t inordinately expensive either. It rescued a quiet night. You will not be disappointed it’s very,very good.

this restaurant truly is a hidden gem in loughborough. Large and tastefully furnished, the staff cant do enough to help and th.e indian is among the best ive ever tasted ( and I have been part of a curry club for3 years). Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Visited alone on business trip. Excellent service with friendly welcome. I thought that the food was pretty average but I have high standards. It was nicely presented. Good but the quality of the cooking means not quite five stars.

i had wanted to try Nepalese food for a while and although this restaurant is about 12 miles from where we live (although i am originally a Loughborough girl) we decided to try it a couple of weeks ago. We enjoyed it that much that we came again. Each time we had the set meal for two which at £30.95 was excellent value. We had popadoms and pickle, starters of two kinds of chicken and lamb kebabs with salad and for the main it was a chicken curry, a lamb curry and a vegetable side dish together with naan and rice (which was delicious, having mushrooms, shrimps and other things in it). They were very subtly tasty without being firey hot. If we lived nearer we would certainly go more regularly or have the takeaway. The staff were all extremely pleasant and seemed to be genuinely interested in helping us.

Visited the restaurant tonight for the first time with two children 13 and 9, really great time, the service was excellent and the waiters were brilliant with the children, food was great and the service was excellent with help for portions and mix of food, would really recommend this place and we will be back to try more dishes

Nipped in here by chance, as we left a local pub. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was nice and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely visit again.

We were greeted by a warm, pleasant Gentleman. The tables each had a fresh red rose, and the decor was calming and pleasant. We had the Set Vegetarian menu for two. The Starter was a heavenly experience, delicately seasoned. The main course was very tasty and light. My Partner enjoyed his Cheesecake for dessert, and I had a good Coffee with Cream. The meal was carefully cooked and good value.

Tonight I decided to go out after a day spent cooking for family & friends.

Been to this restaurant twice now and on both occasions found the main man Kumar most engaging and helpful person. You explain what you like and he will offer possible meals which would suit, and even adjust the meal to your own specification. I wanted a mix meat and prawn curry which he said it was his pleasure to have the meal cooked to my specification no problem, i suggested it should be on the menu as a Holland special mix, it was delightful just as I wanted, he and the other staff always polite and wiling to help and chat to you. Overall a very pleasant experience and would recommend this restaurant.

1st things 1st the delivery driver was dressed very smartly and looked professional and i knew i was in for a treat at the door.

I have tried a number of restaurants in this area and to be totally honest this is the best ,nothing is to much trouble, the food is very tasty and the prices are very good. Will be returning

This restaurant is nearby All Saints Church almost opposite The Three Nuns Pub. I had been to this place a few years back, but it has recently been taken over by a Nottingham-based restaurant. The staff, chef, menu, and brand are all new and very much the better for it. Half the menu has a Nepalese slant to it, but the remainder is what you would expect from an Indian. The welcome was friendly, but there were only a handful of people sat eating at 7.30pm on a Thursday, so we wondered about whether the food was going to be any good. Not to worry - the food was well above average. Tasty. Well presented. Ample portions. I had a potato, chickpea, and mint starter which was good. The main of lamb-shank with spinach and my chicken/ minced lamb combo was delicious. The outside of the restaurant still looks a tad unloved, but walk inside and enjoy yourself.

Quick and attentive service, food was cooked quickly and tasted great, value for money when we received the bill.

It can be a bit difficult as a solo traveller eating solo but I was very impressed with both the service and food. I felt I let the chef down but really there was too much but it was all excellent.

Had a great meal here last night. All our family really like king prawns, so we were concerned about the number of dishes available, however, when asked if we could have any of the Chefs Specialities with any meat or fish, they were happy to oblige. We had the Nepal mild dish with king prawn and was one of the best dishes ever tasted. The naan was very, very good and I would not normally like them...... but Mum insisted!!! The wine list had some great choices, of quality wines and very reasonably priced. The staff were very polite and friendly. Thank you for a great night.

A birthday meal here for 6 of us, and didn’t disappoint! We liked the fact that the menu was part Nepali and it tasted just as we had remembered in Nepal.

Our first visit to this new restaurant . Enjoyed a delicious meal here on a Saturday evening . Staff were helpful and service excellent . Food was freshly prepared and well presented . Lots to choose from on menu . Clearly popular for takeaways but the restaurant itself was nice too . Will definitely return and opt for more adventurous hotter dishes next time .

Went to this restaurant last minute for my sister bday. The food was absolutely fantastic and good value for money There was plenty to choose from for dietary requirements The staff were very attentive and polite I will certainly be visiting again!

Oppositeback the parish church, this is an excellent restaurant offering an interesting range of North Indian/Nepalese food.

We have had many takeaways from this restaurant, from the first tasty mouthful we have not used any other Indian Restaurant. It's great to find an Indian restaurant that every dish has its own individual flavour. The vegan options are delicious, we don't have favourites because it is all so good!

We had an enjoyable evening with friends. The service was attentive. We chose to have the set meal for two made up to five, This was a good choice. poppadoms followed by a starter followed by a good mix of mains. Too full for dessert. Good value for money.

Chose this place for a meal with friends as it has lots of great veggie options. It's so nice having a whole page of main courses to choose from! The staff were really friendly and we had a lovely evening. My food was delicious too, will definitely come back.

I have visited this restaurant numerous times with my partner and only have good things to say. The food is always delicious and fresh, service is excellent. The only negative thing I could say is when we had a delivery the food was warm and not however still delicious.

We've had a takeaway from the restaurant before, but decided to visit the restaurant. Reserved a table for a Friday night, were greeted by pleasant and attentive staff. A wonderful atmosphere which is very relaxed and easygoing. The food was wonderful - we loved the variety of vegetarian dishes, being non-meat eaters. Poppadoms, naan, rice and mains were all beautiful. The quality of the food and service means we will definitely be regular customers. Thoroughly enjoyable evening.

This was our first time visiting since it reopened under new management - we’ve been coming for 20 years and will be continuing for many years to come! We arrived early so had our pick of tables and were greeted by friendly and attentive staff. The manager was great! We went for some old favourites and then chose some new Nepalese dishes and were not disappointed - from the chutney with the papadum to the rice (best we’ve ever had), really light naan and brilliant chicken dishes - it was delicious. By the time we left the restaurant was busy but the manager was keen to get to know customers from the local community. We left with the promise that we’ll be back - and we certainly will be. A brilliant meal out, and reasonable prices too. Definitely go back if you’ve been a regular visitor.

Lovely meal and variety of taste sensations! The service was excellent and the waiters were attentive.The meal was freshly cooked and not heavy. Excellent food and service would always recommend this place. Nice staff ask and they will help. There was 17 in the group and everyone got served at the same time.

First time to this place under the new name and the service and food was fantastic . We asked the waiter to make up some dishes of various strength and he certainly delivered, including a fish dish, great breads too.

I’ve tried many restaurants during my stay (four months) in Loughborough and I can say that this was definitely the best one. The food was absolutely amazing and I’m so sad we didn’t discover the restaurant earlier and only got the chance to visit once. Apart from the food, we really appreciated the service from the staff and the environment was cozy as well! I would definitely recommend others to go there. Keep it up!

This restaurant just opened in Loughborough and I felt a bit skeptical because not many people were dining when we passed by. However, we were very warmly welcomed by all staff. The place is nice and the menu clear. Our food was all delicious and arrived quickly. Wine was also good, which is normally rare in these sorts of restaurants. We really enjoyed our meal and all staff were lovely. We will certainly be back!!!

I'll be honest - the quality of Indian/Nepalese restaurants in Loughborough is fairly average (and that is not even taking into consideration, the comparison to Leicester restaurants). However, the food I picked up at the Himalayan Inn last weekend was excellent. The lamb (dhansak) was tender and high quality and the sag paneer was delicious. Even as a take away, care was taken over presentation. A friendly service. Recommended.

We decided to try a different venue for our committee meeting (Talking Kids Rugby Festival organisation, so we need an incentive for parents to attend!) and were pleasantly surprised at the Himalayan Inn. Welcoming hosts, lovely surroundings and most importantly the food was rather special! Good, flavoursome mains, fluffy rice, freshly made breads and a Tarka Dahl to die for! I have a feeling we will be returning soon.

First time Booked a table on Friday night for a group of six of us. The Gentlemen who received us was very welcoming. Service was excellent and food was superb.we all have different Nepalese starter which was so delicious specially chicken sukuti and lamb cholya. I had himali lamb on my main and my friend had gurkhali chicken both were so tasty . All of our group like the food and the service.I definitely recommend this restaurant to every one who like Nepalese and Indian food.

I would highly recommend you to try the food in the resturant. Out of all the resturant in loughbrough this resturant was the only one that stood out to me. Food, hospitality and the service was excellent.

Looking at the excellent reviews we decided to have a meal delivered, unfortunately this was not up to the standard of other reviewers that appear to have eaten at the restaurant. As far as we concerned the best bit of the meal was that it arrived on time.

Nepalese dishes are so good compared with our apparent UK national favourites. Far less ghee so more pleasant, far more subtle taste because of herbs used in preference to spices to give flavour to foods, and a wider range of vegetables.

Went on the opening day of the restaurant. Restaurant was almost full and staffs were so attentive. We were recommended the Nepalese starter dishes. Food was beautifully decorated and flavour was just amazing. Found a new gem in Loughborough. We will be back soon.

Very impressive menu with very wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The old favourites are there but plenty of new dishes to try. I had an aubergine dish that tasted fresh and delicious and the side dishes were really excellent too. My husband had a lamb dish which he also very much enjoyed. The staff were attentive, friendly and overall it was a very pleasant evening.
