I am staying at BW for work and booked dinner at Hilltops on my first night. I was initially nervous that there didn't appear to be anything suitable for vegans on the menu, but I double checked with the receptionist, who was very helpful and communicated my request to the restaurant. This was a short-notice request, so I was not expecting much, but the chefs went above and beyond. The tofu & veg curry was really tasty, and the choc fudge cake was delicious. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting, but the team prepared the leftovers for me to take to my room and eat later. Thank you to the talented kitchen team and wonderful front of house team at Hilltops!

Had a small family meal in the restaurant. Dinner menu didn't have too much of a choice but we were also advised we could order from the lunch menu. Food was very Good, service was attentive, friendly and courteous

Booked a table for a family get together dinner. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. Menu was explained to us and waitress checked which items had no lemon in them (one of our party is allergic to lemon). Our order was taken and the meal was Excellent, every item was top drawer. The restaurant is very highly recommended and is very good value.

Popped in for Sunday lunch. Amazing value with 2 courses for £12.50 .... Food was hot and excellent standard, as was the service. Would definitely recommend. Only negative was that most of the restaurant were tables closed due later visiting coach party... shame as the biggest selling point is the view

My wife and I dined at the Hilltop for the first time in a long time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff were very friendly, the food which was a carvery was just excellent. We were seated by the window with lovely views towards Liverpool. For the price which was charged it just couldn't be beat, and without doubt it won't be long before we return.

I was booked in by hotel reception (hotel reviewed separately). I arrived for my table in the restaurant at 8.30pm and surprised it wasn't busier on a Friday evening. I was seated by a new lad in training he was very young. Smiling and very pleasant. I started with a mini bottle of prosecco. I had the squid and prawn starter, there was another fish, can't remember what it's called but you can see it in the picture, I'd never tried it before but it was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Mains was lamb cutlets with mustard mash and kale. Again delicious. Dessert black forest slice. Mmm. I wish I had taken a picture of it all. It was thoroughly enjoyed. The service was attentive and fast by all the staff. A great restaurant if you're in the area.

We stayed in forest hills for the night celebrating our wedding anniversary. We nearly didn't try the restaurant due to review saying it was just fine not great. We would say it was great and would well recommend eating in this restaurant. The staff found us a table and really looked after us well. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the accompanying sauce was divine. My hubby had the beef which he enjoyed and said was cooked well. There was an abundance of staff catering for people's needs. It was, lovely to see the staff gathered round the restaurant manager obviously someone great to work with.

Visited Saturday 19.11.2016. Decided to have the soup to start followed by the steak (medium). The soup and steak were very good, but i was a bit disappointed with the size of my portion of my ice cream. All the dishes were served by young but very polite staff. I would certainly go again and recommend to friends and family.

the food was ok I had a goats cheese starter, asparagus risotto main my daughter had pasta and garlic bread. All was fine - no issues - not great - just fine, we had a lovely experiece however due to the helpfulness of the staff - the young man who was maitre'd on the evening could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble and he brought a play pack for my daughter. Similar experience at breakfast - food was fine etc but the staff made us feel so welcome and could not have been more helpful.

This is the 2nd year that we have been for Christmas Day lunch. Although the starter, desserts and coffees are served at the table, the main course is a carvery. However this is sensitively organised so that you are not stood in a long queue in your finery. The selection of meats were of excellent quality and the choice of vegetables was unbelievable. Almost everything you could think of. Staff were attentive and helpful, offering to carry plates etc. We booked for 1.15 and were not hurried at all during the meal. The tables were festively laid and used crackers etc were removed promptly. Drinks were brought swiftly so no need to stand at the bar. All staff were polite, welcoming and friendly. Kieran was a joy as he kept the atmosphere going with his witty banter and friendly service. Our table wasnt too far from a window so we could look at over the Overton Hills. A lovely view, just a pity it was raining! Now looking at an overnight stay.

My family and friends were staying in the Forest Hills hotel, and the Hilltops restaurant is part of it. On our first night we decided to stay local and therefore booked in to the Hilltops. I would strongly recommend you do book as the restaurant itself is not very large. First impressions were mixed. On a clear day you have a stunning view across the estuary, but the decor is somewhat dated. Therefore the ambience was not quite right. Choice of menu is extensive. You can choose from the snack menu, a la carte or market menu. The market menu being excellent value with three courses at just under £22.On to the food. My choices were from the market menu. I had the smoked makrel, followed by lamb shank, and sticky toffee pudding. Delightful. The lamb shank literally fell of the bone. Both my wife, daughter and friends were equally delighted. Drinks were quite expensive at £4.50 per pint of San Miguel. The waiting staff were fab. Overall, this restaurant is deserving of 4*. The food itself was fab but the decor did put me off. Drinks a tad too expensive.

The restaurant is on the top of Frodsham Hill with windows overlooking the River Mersey and a lot of Lancashire. It is the restaurant of the Forest Hills Hotel. The menu comprises dishes well cooked. At this time of the year guests are offered.two courses for £11 at lunchtime. This is a bargain.

On the 1st February I arranged a family get together for my mothers 80th birthday. With thehelp of Tracey Harding (Senior Conference Events Organiser) a meal for 27 people was organised plus my mothers large dog. We used the Delamere suite for a private function. The meal was excellent, the staff were excellent , the service was great. Overall there was nothingI could fault. On the day Elaine Green the duty manager oversaw everything, she catered forour every need. What a loverly day we had. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel fortheir catering skills and organisational skills. Myself and my daughters family also stayed overnight and the accommodation was also great. The added bonus was there is a pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi there. A big thank you to all the staff especially Tracey and Elaine

Having enjoyed many happy birthday and anniversary celebrations in your restaurant our dear friend decided to treat 32 of his family and friends to your Beatles Tribute Night to celebrate his 70th birthday. What a disappointment it turned out to be ,the meal was dreadful ,how the chef ever allowed it to leave his kitchen I do not know ,it was obvious that this was not just our opinion judging by the amount of waste that was being returned . I think our friend deserves at least an apology .I do not need to mention his name as I am surreal you will know who he is . MR & Mrs I.Serjent

Booked a meal for 2 and confirmed tastecard applied. Yes sir. Arrived, shown to table and then advised the offer applied only to the main courses shown in the A La Carte menu. This despite the tastecard website stating that 2 for 1 charges applied to all courses. Menu, especially for vegetarians, was ambitiously disappointing and overpriced. Asked for clarification on the following dish -Roasted Red Peppers, Sundried Tomatoes, Truffle Oil , Chilli Risotto, Parmesan Shavings with a Lime Dressing. After checking with the Chef the waiter advised that all the ingredients were part of the Risotto. At a whopping £13.95 it just had to be good. At a more realistic £2.99 it would still have failed the taste and value test! The red peppers were not roasted, the sundried tomatoes, if any, were masquerading as red peppers, the chilli was just that, the chilliest known to man, the parmesan shavings are probably still in a bowl on the kitchen worktop and a slice of lime should not be described as lime dressing! I am not known as a person who complains as I do not like confrontation, preferring to vote with my feet. However this was my worst meal experience ever and I could not contain my disappointment when paying the bill. To be fair to the person hearing the complaint she gave a complimentary bottle of house red wine. Nevertheless I doubt I will risk eating there again. And by the way, I have used this hotel restaurant many times over the last 25 years but this was the first time since being taken over by Best Western. Having been served with such unappetising over-priced mediocrity I shall be steering an easterly direction in future whenever I encounter a Best Western.

We were visiting the Anderton Boat Lift which is just 10 minutes down the towpath from The Moorings. As the coffee shop there was quite full after the boat trip we decided to try somewhere else close by. The Moorings is a little gem of a place, run by chefs, so expect hotel like presentation of excellent food, which is worth waiting for. This is a totally different dining experience from the usual canal side cafe. Dogs are allowed inside on the hard floor area, but we sat outside with ours as it was a beautiful day and we could admire the canal boats in the marina.

Uns gefällt das Ambiente aus den 70er Jahren. Wie eine Zeitkaplsel. Dazu die freundliche Bedienung. Gut für einen Boxenstopp.
