We had a pleasant meal, as you would expect from a carvery. There was a disco for my son Oliver to enjoy. The Duty Manager,Andrea was most helpful, and made real effort to sort out any problem, despite the restaurant being rather busy.

We come here every Thursday and love eating and spending time with the staff. Especially Andrea and John they are so genuine and always asks how we are. It’s always the highlight of our week. Thank you

The place needs heating needs to be warm it's freezing .and they need more things for the children to do and the Yorkshire pudding needs to be better. And the toilets need to put the heating on it's freezing.

We came in for a lunch birthday party for Mike and the young man on the bar was fantastic I think his name was david and scarlett helped us throughout our visit today and was great

Lovely atmosphere, the food was delicious, just had a carvery and the meat was amazing, Niamh come over smiling and took our plates away and convinced us to get dessert. We ask enjoyed seeing the friendliness between Niamh and Jack behind the bar. Great experience, would definitely come again!

Cracking place. The breakfast is better quality compared to other carvery style pubs in my view. They have HP sauce for a start, rather than a bowl of tasteless brown goo. The kids’ area was a nice touch too. My kids (5&3) played before and after breakfast. The highlight however was the staff. They were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful.

Lovely place for an evening meal with friends and family. Nice pleasant background music, quiet on a Monday evening, but still good atmosphere. Three of us had carvery meal, all cooked well and tasty. Plenty on our plates for a very reasonable price. Desserts good too, lots of choice. Staff helpful and pleasant.

Good carvery, but that's where it ends, hardly any staff, the queue at the bar was ridiculous as there appeared to be one person serving. They expect you to use the app to order, even when we did it took at least 20mins for the drinks to arrive. The poor chap carving the meat was also on his own, and had to leave to replenish the beef and Yorkshire puddings, normally you'd have a helper. Then despite it being obvious that we'd finished our mains, it took a good while for the table to be cleared so that we could have the birthday cake, even though we'd handed it in when we arrived, we had to bring it over ourselves and ask for plates! Most decent restaurants will bring the cake over with the candles lit and actually stay to sing Happy birthday, all in all I will most definitely NOT be returning or recommend it to anyone. Everywhere needs a lot of TLC, filthy stained chair covers, wobbly sticky tables. I now know why the carpark wasn't busy and no real queue for the carvery, which is unusual on a Sunday. Good luck staying open !!

A regular spot to meet friends and always a great evening. Can’t beat a carvery , John is always really welcoming and efficient and checking everything is as it should be , feels like visiting friends. As a vegetarian great to have a wide selection of veg and love the red cabbage 😍 . Here’s to our next visit

Arrived on Sunday for a family meal there was a table of 6 of us, we all had carvery the carver was pleasant, josh the chef brought our carvery to the table and engaged in a conversation with myself whilst walking back to the table they ran out of Yorkshire puddings and josh made sure when they was done he brought us a couple to our table and asked if he could get us anything else because of the queue we forgot our sauces so josh went and brought some to the table, I would definitely recommend the atmosphere was great staff truly go above and beyond to make a customer happy I look forward to seeing you on farther day :) keep up the good work guys

Visited 10 June 2021. Lee welcomed us and offered amazing customer service. He explained the new rules and asked us to call him if we needed any more assistance. Hayden carried our meals back to the table, offered further assistance if required. Overall, a great meal. We will definitely return. These two men are a credit to this restaurant.

Really tasty burgers meal, with drinks and cake, all at very reasonable prices. Good hygiene procedures in place. Emma looked after us really well and even adjusted the temperature for us when we got a bit chilly!

Very nice to be back at Hillfield again. Nice to see familiar faces. Tara was as warm, welcoming and helpful as ever nothing is too much trouble for her and we always have a lovely chat if she has a few minutes. Our server was Katy who was lovely, very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was deliciuos i tried the vegan chocolate torte which was to die for. We decided against the carvery as we much prefer to help ourselves, have since visited a carvery where one table at a time goes up to help themsleves this was though, a smaller venue. All in all we enjoy our visits a great place for those nights you want a night off from the kitchen.

Very busy and was a slight wait on food but we were warned of this prior to seating so this was no shock to us and we were happy to wait. Scarlet was very helpful and friendly during our visit and deserves a special thank you for that.

Visited hill field farm restaurant yesterday , was greeted at the door and was shown how to do track and trace . Was shown to table and askedWhat drinks we wanted whilst we looked at menu . Our food order was taken at the table as we was having trouble getting to grips with the app (our fault not thiers) service was excellent, food was good, I must say to the managers of hillfield farm the reason we would visit this restaurant again is because of the staff. We was served by Tara and she made our night so great , I asked if I could have something not on the menu and her reply with a smile was “I can do that for you !!!! Visited here yesterday for a meal with my family and what started out as a good visit was swiftly wrecked by drunken antics.Upon arrival we were seated promptly by a polite member of staff who talked us through track and trace and the rules to follow while on site .Once at our table we were served our drinks quickly that were delivered to the table we were then told it’s safe for us to proceed to the carvery and select our choices this was very strange as the person serving not only cuts the meat they now also plate up the vegetables and bring it directly to our table .The food itself was very nice we were about to order deserts but what was a nice quiet meal was disrupted by men at the entrance arguing with a member of staff we are not sure what they were arguing over but the one man was very loud and very abusive toward the staff and to our amazement these men were then seated right next to us they very loud and very rude quite clearly they had already had enough to drink so this was enough for us to swiftly finish our drinks and leave.

Visited this place with friends had to order drinks carvery etc by there app then you go up for your carvery tell the cheff what you want they bring it to your table .the guy who dished up the food must have just changed someone's gear box his uniform was absolutely filthy the meat was so so. sprouts hard as a rock everything else medioka will not be going back to this place

I have just had breakfast with my friend and it was first class.Zoe had patience with us as we are ladies that have problems with ordering on the app She took our order and in no time we were served.We must also thank Kirk for supplying us with our tea and coffee.All round a very pleasant morning.Visit soon you will enjoy yourselves.

Went for lunch today expecting the same chaos as other eateries we have been to. How wrong we were. From the moment we stepped in the waitress Victoria was so inviting. She was helpful, friendly, professional. She explained everything clearly and served with enthusiasm. The food was excellent and the service even better. Thank you Victorià for a true example of excellent customer service.

Came in on Friday night for a last minute date night. Was very busy but some staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, especially the young girl scarlet who brought us our lovely food-nothing was of trouble to her and despite us asking for many things such as extra spoons, sauces etc, no request was too big or made to feel an inconvenience despite seeing how busy she was- non stop moving around taking food to tables and even clearing dirty plates that other staff had been ignoring. Overall a pleasant experience and will be back again soon!

This is a lovely family pub and the staff are beyond helpful. I came in by myself with my baby daughter, they helped me fetch my carvery bap as I had my hands full and were super friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The carvery was very tasty and hot too!

We visited with our 3 year old at lunchtime. Hayden greeted us and bent over backwards to accommodate us and make our visit enjoyable. Service was quick and very friendly. As a group of 5 friends had a very nice carvery and received excellent service. Staff very helpful and accommodating especially Kirk.

Went to Hillfield Farm on Thursday 20th May I arrived about 12 and as I was going to the children's section I passed the carvery and noticed half a turkey out uncovered and not looking fresh at all Do Hillfields reuse cooked meat that hasn't been sold the next day ? The sight of this put me off dining there I let the kids have a short play and left I eventually went to Toby carvery and enjoyed my dining experience there I thought I would support hillfields after it being closed for so long but sorry wont be going there again !!

Popped in and grabbed me 4 pints of San Miguel for 5 quid! Not bad at all, Manager seemed friendly enough.

Went to collect my order for beer 4 pints for a £5 manager pleasant all the time pick my beer up and left were else can you get beer in lockdown will get some more just take your own container for the beer

The meal was good except the pigs in blankets. The waitress was great. The kids loved her. We had a free cake for dressing up in our Halloween costumes. The wine was fantastic.

My family and I went for a meal and were served at the carvery by a lovely chef called Liam, he was kind and incredibly helpful in helping explain what was vegan or not. Words can't praise him enough.

Had a lovely family meal. Great service from everyone, but exceptional service from Liam, who served the carvery Liam went through the dishes and advised if there was dairy in anything. Liam also suggested, when we attend again, call in advance and ask for plain cauliflower. Very welcoming, pleasant young man, who delivered excellent customer service.

Date night with my daughter. Emma & Des was spot on.. We both felt safe and cleanliness was spot on...kitchen staff adapted the food on the plate for my ASD child no questions asked (made our night so much easier and they don't even know it).. food was lovely and so was dessert... P.s.Emma as someone who works in early years education you were a breath of fresh air.. very tentative with customers and their little ones... it was lovely to observe. We will be back. I can't even stress how happy my daughter was when we left. It's not often we get to enjoy ourselves with her feeling comfortable in a different place and she wants to go back.

Just had a fantastic carvery here. The carvery Food quality was outstanding. I'm particularly happy with the meticulous following of distancing and constant cleaning in the restaurant. Des and Emma were both checking in on us to make sure we'd got everything we needed.A thoroughly enjoyable experience during covid restrictions.

Food is fresh and delicious. Plenty of veggie options. Lizzie, our server, was attentive and incredibly friendly. Nothing could be too much trouble. Covid measures in place too so all felt very safe.

Visited hillfield for lunch on Monday. We each had a carvery which was plentiful and tasty. The atmosphere was good and everything looked in order following government guidelines. Our waitress was Victoria and what a delight she is. Always smiling. We felt truly looked after. We hope you’re appreciated. Many thanks team hillfield.

Had lunch with friends at Hillfields served by Victoria. We were welcomed to the venue, reminded of the COVID measures and we had the choice of tables, Monday being quiet. We were very quickly served at the table as we hadn't downloaded the app. Drinks came very quickly and food arrived within 15 mins. Meals were freshly cooked were appetising and very good value for money and not a lot got left uneaten. Service by Victoria was excellent, she was very friendly dealt with our requirements quickly and given that they were in that time of uncertaintly was cheerful and help to make out meal the break we needed. Measures in place were excellent with visitors complying with the measures. We will be returning probably for another lunch soon as menu was varied.

Just had a lovely cravery lunch here, wasnt sure how it was going to work as all table service, but it was really well organised and definitely a place you feel comfortable eating out in.

Visited for breakfast on the 3rd October, first impressions everywhere was clearly signed with rules about Covid hand sanitiser at the host stand everything you would expect in these current times.. Greeted by Amber who was very friendly and helpful, service was excellent Tara took our order and was very efficient in making sure that we had our food and drinks without waiting too long, the restaurant was extremely clean, Amy was constantly cleaning tables and keeping everywhere hygienic for the next customers.. Overall excellent service and credit to the staff very safe place to visit.
