We stopped here on way home and lovely food we had fish cakes and chips and battered sauage and all was lovely and also grabbed some hydrated fish skins for the dogs and they loved them would highly recommend

Very disappointed, the fish was very thin not crispy, nor were the chips. I’ve never seen such a thin bit of fish wonder if that’s how they make more money these days. Not good value under the circumstances.

Really slow service, took too long to have my order taken. Watched 2 other customers leave as they had been not acknowledged or served.

Food was spectacular and most importantly the curry sauce came in a wide pot making it much easier to use. Service was fantastic, had to wait for the fish to be cooked and the server was very polite about it and it was ready precisely when she it would be. 10/10 fish and chips.

Chips where under cooked sausages and battered sausages so over cooked inedible missing items from order even after asking if all there complete waist all food was binned for better food visit the plaice just over the road

Awful Rubbery refried chips. I was sick after eating them as the fat tasted old. It proper turned my stomach.

Not been to a fish and chips shop for a while but would definitely recommend this one for the fish and chips and mushy peas but sadly not for the battered sausages, the one we had with our order was only battered on one side so not impressed with that in our order. The battered mushy peas were huge, big enough for 2 people! The service was good. Little bit pricey but for the amount we got for 3 people, more than worth it.

This is our local chippy . Love the food here . Think we have only had one not so good meal but it was still OK to eat . We had just some chips the other night , I xan say they were very tasty .

Came in for fish and chips last night, lovely fresh food as always. Very friendly helpful manager on shift. Very organised even with covid precautions. Definitely the best fish and chips in Fareham highly recommend!

Buying fish and chips here is always a treat. The Covid precautions are sensible and not at all inconvenient. The service is quick and efficient and ,- most important of all - the portions are generous and the food cooked to perfection.

Ordered by telephone to collect, queuing system in place at the shop with screen showing orders ready for collection. COVID measures seem to work well if observed by clientele. Staff friendly and helpful despite being really busy.

I'm new in Fareham and I've been to this place twice before to buy cod and chips which I enjoyed the first time. The second time I enjoyed the cod but the chips were those horrible small dry and very crispy 'chips' and they went straight to the bin. This evening just before 8pm I went back for the third and the final time and I bought a quarter chicken and small chips and I must say I was very disappointed yet again. The chicken was very dry and tasteless, it was as if it had been cooked a while ago and had just been warmed up. The chips were those tiny very crispy dry horrible 'chips' again! Surprisingly I was the only customer at the time so I don't understand why the lady decided to give me scraps, nothing like chips from a fish and chip shop. Maybe that's what she thought I deserved. I asked for salt and vinegar and I could hardly taste any. I spent nearly £7 but everything went to the bin, my dinner was ruined. Definitely won't be going back there again. I hope Fareham has more to offer.

Tasteless luke warm chips virtually no vinager when I asked for a lot, cost over 6 pounds, would not use again, I normally go the place but they had a big queue highlands I walked straight in now I know why.

I was just picking up some fish and chips and was disappointed to see some workmen walking in and out of the shop without wearing a mask to pick up their orders. I saw them walk in and out approximately 7 times and not once did they wear a mask or were asked to by staff! When I mentioned this to staff, they told me that they have been told by their manager that they are not allowed to ask a customer to wear a mask, and have been told they cannot refuse to serve anyone not wearing a mask! All this despite displaying a sign in the window from the health and safety executive stating that they comply with all COVID-19 regulations. I feel that the management don’t care about the other customers that use this shop who are complying with regulations so in future I’ll be taking my business elsewhere!

The fish was a little greasy but it is to he expected. The chips were brilliant but there is so much. They're still good the next day after reheating in the oven.

Prior to the lockdown this was our favourite fish and chip shop in the area and having found that they were open I returned last Saturday. I used their new telephone ordering service, greeted on the phone by a friendly member of staff , I placed my order and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived my name was on the screen in the window and I was now able to pay by card. Of course the most important thing is the food, it was just as good as we remembered, perfectly cooked cod, crisp batter and great chips. See you again soon.

Just ordered a 1/4ibs Burger with Cheese and was meant to be a medium chips... the burger was over cooked and opening the box it's just drowned in salad. Wasnt happy.

Picked up dinner from here this evening, and it was fantastic! Can highly recommend! The fish was cooked perfectly, the large chips fed 3 adults with some to spare! I was so impressed with the social distancing measures in place. 1 customer in at a time, they issue a number so that when you're waiting outside the number will flash and you enter to pick up your order to control customers entering. A large glass screen to protect staff and customers and hand gel too The staff were really friendly and welcoming awell! Well done!

A good fish and chip shop but a bit pricey and the large chips portion is small for even a 3 person family?

Place is vey clean, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Ordered 3 senior citizen cod and chips, and although I was told it may take a while, they were ready in about 5 minutes. Good quality, lovely batter on the fish. Will definitely return...

Good traditional fish and chips. However forgot to cook nuggets for one of the kids meal which made me waiting longer. Also forgot the fish cake which I had to go back for. All in all great food but those two issues really let them down

Chips were rock hard and dry think reheated from left overs from lunchtime wont be going back.

Ask for chips separate from fish considering some people don’t like fish, couldn’t manage it, lumped the fish in with the chips so one member of my family had to go out and get something else....

It’s Friday, we felt like a chippy tea, let’s go to Highlands Chippy.... I arrived at 20.07 hrs, no queue (fab), gave my order which included large cod. It will be 12-15 minutes for the large cod said the girl serving, no problem I said, I’ll just pop to cashpoint. I returned at 20.16 hrs, still no queue, but a steady flow of customers getting served. There were 3 young women on duty (no boss tonight, shame). At 20.30 hrs one of the girls started to wrap my order, startled, she said, where’s the cod bites? Another female tossed 3 into the fryer. At 20.42 hrs, I was called forward and got, sorry for the wait, we had to do more cod bites. Once at home, we were disappointed. The cod (1 large, 1 medium and the bites) were over cooked, the fish was tough and the batter hard and brown. It was a similar story with the sausages in batter, over cooked with very brown batter. Please can the boss be present on Fridays, or else I’ll take my £30.70 elsewhere in future. Not a great chippy tea, definitely forgettable.

Fish always nice and fresh.The chips are really nice no little bits etc, a good selection of stuff to eat, if you like larger portions of fish it is cooked to order, you may have to wait a bit but well worth it, friendly staff, and the place nice and clean and tidy.

This is our favourite chip shop. Haven't tried many items on the menu but the cod is lovely and together with the chips are really satisfying. I drive out of my area to get them. Always tasty.

I cannot understand why the fish is so thin and flat! Has it been sliced in two, to make it go further? Also the chips are inconsistent as to how they are cut, sometimes they are OK and sometimes they are thin and flat as well, Its very hit and miss as to how it is going to turn out. Very disappointed 😞

Never again will go else where feom now on. 20 min wait for chips that were somehow soggy and get half raw as well. Battered sausage was like eating cardboard was so dried out throw away after 1 bite.

Good food freshly cooked ,good choice of different foods typical of a fish n chip shop portions are good sometimes to much to finish it all, Mon 8th April 4pm waiting for them to open to go get me Rock n Chips
