Me and my wife went there, food was average, but by far the worst service I've ever had, there was a sign saying 7 days a week 20% discount when payed with cash, the female waitress being very rude when we bring it up says, in very broken English that they just haven't pulled the advertisement down witch was posted everywhere. My personal option was she is just keeping the cash discount for herself, which I could say with very good certainty. We left cause I didn't want to start a huge scene.

Abbiamo optato per il menù "all you can eat" prezzo abbordabile, qualità media bassina.

Visited on Wed 30 September around lunch time.Food was average, fine for the price. However upon coming to pay I put my card on the table and the waitress took my card away from the table before returning after a few minutes with my card and the card machine. At the time I did think this was a bit strange as there was no reason to take my card away but didn't think too much about it.Today my bank's fraud team has contacted me due to suspicious activity on my card. Someone has tried to use it at a hotel in London. This was the only time my card has been out of my sight. So a warning not to allow your card to be taken away from the table. It was a female Chinese member of staff who took the card away which is completely unnecessary as she brought the card machine to the table.

The food portions are huge (I know it's all you can eat) but I would say don't be hesitant to ask for take away boxes to avoid food going to waste. We didn't book on a busy Thursday night so got lucky to have been given a nice "sunken table" in the upstairs restaurant area. The process for ordering was explained well, a weekday special at £20 per head that allows customers to order a limited amount of hot items and a virtually unlimited amount of cold sushi (limited to 5 portions of the same type). The limits were more than reasonable and we found ourselves more than satisfied before any limit was in sight. Drink prices are fair given the location and the service is quite typical of a Japanese restaurant (not overly friendly but sufficient and prompt). I will most definitely be returning soon.

I agree with some of the reviews on here when they say this place is nothing special. My experience was with a big group (12 people) during the all you can eat dinner, which can only be described as confused. The guidelines provided on the small paper menus you get on the table are nowhere near enough to understand how to order food and drinks, and the waiters don't seem to be able to explain themselves properly. It was only when we asked for the third time and relied on someone who had already been there before that we managed to understand how it all works... That said, once the food came it wasn't that bad at all. We all thought the tempura was really nice and while the sushi isn't the best one I have ever had, all of the other dishes which came with it were very tasty. It's also true that you get full quite easily, unless you order sushi only. But then again, we paid £25 each and for the area it is in and in London, it is quite a bargain.Recommended if you need somewhere averagely quick and easy to eat, but I would maybe try Chinatown if you're after a real plate of sushi.

This is never going to be the best sushi in town. For anything better you will have to pay much more, or know how to navigate the maze west of Tottenham Court Road where some real gems can be found. But, if you want quick tasty and quite cheap sushi, this is the place to go. All you can eat option is still offered and it is good value, all the dishes are freshly prepared, and the service is fast and efficient.Again, if you want something significantly better, it will not be difficult to find in London, but at this price level, the restaurant serves the purpose and remains an excellent value for money

I'll start with the negatives. The service is crap. Waiters have very little English and are at best blunt at worst rude. The menu for ordering the buffet set up is a little complex and isn't assisted with the bad attempts to explain from the waiters but the food is decent. The fried items are really heavy and I would start with them if you want to get a good variety in you before you're too full. You'll definitely be filled an all for around £20 a person isn't so bad for Covent Garden nor for sushi. It's not 5* luxury sushi but then again buffets aren't really meant to be, and neither is a £20 bill! Still recommended especially if going theatre in the vicinity.

I have dined here on and off for the last 8 years and, generally, the food has been excellent - overcoming the occasional poor service. Tonight was different: it was my birthday and my restaurant of choice but it let me down. Indifferent, disinterested service allied wirh sub-standard food has left me with a thoroughly bad taste. Chicken yakitori is not just a couple of lumps of stale, refried chicken on toothpicks! Tempura needs to be cooked in clean fat. Edamame does not need to be boiled for days.... And salmon sashimi is much tastier if served in chunks a little larger than 3 microns a side. So, despite previously enjoying this place, the cynical descent observed today of small portions of shoddily prepared and presented food at prices inflated by 10% in less than a year will certainly not encourage me back. Sorry Hi Sushi but this is Goodbye and not Au Revoir.

Wanted to eat at a sushi buffet and google came up with this place. Called to book a table but the only one available was in 2 hours so we decided to just turn up. We were seated at a really low table with no table space so we ask to be moved when we saw a group leave which was much better. Right in front of the guys making sushi but it did get a bit breezy when the door opened. Customer service is terrible. No one came around to explain anything to us. And when they did explain they were grunting it out like we asked them to do a song and dance and they didn't want to be here. Got our order wrong even though it was marked on the sheet.Sushi was alright but I've had better and I guess it's better than mainstream sushi (wasabi and to sushi) but just about better. For what we paid it wasn't worth it. Would normally go to the one in golders green but no available tables and it's a bit further out of central London. Would I go again? Probably not and I wouldn't recommend it either unless you have the money to waste.

The food itself is average, I have eaten better and worse. But the service makes it not worthwhile at all! The staff was so unbelievably rude and unfriendly. The service was slow. We had quite a bit of food left on our plate and my sister has a habit of giving doggy bags to the homeless in London but when we asked if we could take the leftovers out, we were told no. My sister asked: "So you are just going to throw everything away although we haven't even touched it?" The waitress said yes. There was no reason given for that at all. Not a good experience. If you have had a wonderful time in the musical opposite the road, do not end your evening here, it decreases the fun of the evening!

A. Rude StaffStaffs are so rude; we booked a table for 3 a day before. When we got in (on time) they told us that we have to wait for 30 mins, after that they took us upstairs and put us under the AC which was freezing cold. I decided to ask the waiter to change our place and he agreed. When we sat at the other table a waitress started shouting at us that this is a reserved table and made us move back to our table. I told her that I cannot sit under the AC cuz I might get a headache (since I have sinusitis), so she decided to turn the AC off which made the whole place very hot after 10 minutes. B. Poor ServiceThey don't even know how to serve their own food. They brought 2 of our mains first then one of our drinks, then after 15 mins they brought the rest which is 1 main and all our starters followed by our drinks, which was quite stupid since we had miso soups as part of our starters. Also the first two mains they brought were warm food which they got absolutely cold by the time we got the soups. C. Average/Below Average FoodTheir food quality is average when comes to their sushi, though some tend to fall apart when picked up. Their warm food on the other hand is way below average and I was quite surprised from the amount we paid for it.D. Poor ManagementAt the end I got up walked up to the waitress gave her a good shouting session in which she decided to act innocent and say that she has been having a bad day. Then I had a word with the manager (female) who was not interested at first but when I lost it on her too she barely apologized and said her waitress has been having a bad day.CONCLUSIONWorse experience ever, I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN!!!

This is another one of my old dinning spot when I was living in London. The food quality is ok but nothing spectacular. However, the restaurant advertised a "Buffet" but really is an "All You Can Eat" formula. You will be given a piece of paper as your order sheet. There is a time limit also, I think it is 2 hours or so, then you can eat as much as you can and keep re-ordering. I also like the Lunch time Bento box which is just about 10 pounds It is good spot to grab a quick bite. I had a Salmon Teriyaki, decent portion, it serves in a bento box, with salad, a bit of veggie.. The staff's service is ok but nothing outstanding.

Having eaten at this place before, we thought we would give it another try with some relatives.I can't criticise the food itself, all 4 of us really enjoyed our choices. However it was let down by a few other aspects. The service was slow, very slow to begin with (and a tad on the grumpy side). And the portion size was very disappointing for what you paid (except for the chicken yaki). That coupled with the fact that everyone's meals came out quite some time apart, meant we almost all ended up eating separately.Once again, the food itself was quite nice, but everything that enhances the experience was less so! The tables are bloomin' cool though!

I used to visit this eatery regularly (about once a week), but enough is enough after being treated so badly in different occasions!Let me summarise based on different occasions how we were treated by different staff:1. We were told we can order the 'all you can eat' meal within 1.5 hours for food, so we finished eating before the time frame. However, one of the staff asked if we want to order another bottle of wine (after 1hrs 15mins we were eating), as we have few friends gathering so we ordered another bottle of wine. 10mins after the bottle of wine arrived, they brought us the bill and told us we have to leave due to 1.5hrs is over! I told them yes, we have finished eating within the 1.5 hrs POLICY and their staff asked if we wanted to open a bottle of wine less than 10 mins, how do they expect customers to 'DOWN' a bottle wine within 10 mins? The answer from the manager is 'I dont care, this is the policy'. I thought going out for dinner is for enjoyment?2. Another time we arrived at 9.30pm on a Friday evening and were told at the door that last order at 10.30pm. We accepted the time frame so we sat down and ate. At 10pm, we were told by one of the staff saying we should order our last order, we still had few pieces of sushi on the plate but as the staff requested/advised us to put the last order in, then we followed their instruction and order our last round of food. Food came at 10.15pm and 5 mins after that, a female staff cleared my friend's plate (there were still some food from the previous round plus the last round). She checked her watch a couple of times before she came to collect the plate from previous round when there were still 3 pieces of sushi on it. Then I told her we are still eating, and she answered us 'you don't suppose to order another round of food before you finished the previous round ANYWAY'. I was very very clam explaining to her that we were asked/told by their male staff to order the last round, we had no intension to do so until we were told. She answered us 'i dont care but this is the company policy!' I explained to her that it was THEIR STAFF asked us to order!!! and she wouldn't listen. At the end the staff was soo rude and wouldn't let go that I moved the 3 pieces of sushi onto our plates as SHE SOOO WANTED TO CLEAR THE TABLE and want us to leave so she can go home!!?More interestingly at another 5 mins after that at 10.25pm, the male staff came back to our table and asked if we would want to order another bottle of wine! Because I learned from the previous occasion, we didnt because we don't want them to kick us out after the wine arrive! (we were very tempting though as you know having a great time with friends eating and drinking). Guess what? our bill arrived at 10.30 exactly (5 mins after we were asked if we wanted to order another bottle of wine!!!!)Conclusions:1. Staff are so rude at this place, they don't even know how to work in service sector.2. They just want you to eat then out, and 'milk' as much out of you as they can, ask you to open a bottle of wine and kick you out within 5 mins. (I witnessed they did the same thing to few other tables)3. Food quality are average, the all you can eat sushi weren't nicely made, but okay. They tend to fall apart when picking up4. Manager (female) so rude, all she could say is 'this is company policy' and 'I dont care if you are customers or not' 5. So many rules, even you follow their rules and they will try to come up something to be rude at you.Although, the venue is quite nicely decorated and the food are acceptable and their wine are very reasonably priced, we used to go there a lot, but after all those occasions we experienced, we started asking yourself 'WHAT IS THE POINT TO GO THERE, WE ALL GO OUR FOR DINNER/MEAL FOR FUN, NOT TO WORRY/GET READY TO FIGHT WITH THEIR STAFF AND POLICIES.Finally one to avoid and I will not go back anymore after all these years!!!!

I happened to get there with my parents almost by chance after a long walk in Covent Garden. They immediately let us seat (which is good considering it was Friday Halloween Night in London) and they handed the menu. I have to say that the dinner option (£19,80 per person) is quite tricky to understand. Basically you have a bunch of repeatable choices in one list (mostly sashimi, nigiri, rolls of different sort) and another one with non-repeatable dishes (e.g. edamame, miso soup, chicken curry and so on). There were two main problems: the limited choice and the fact that people have to eat the same things together because you have only one list for each table. This said, the sushi was good quality and service quite fast. I would recommend it if you have more time to explore the menu. And if your taste doesn't coincide completely with you table-mates go for the à la carte option!

Ok, what I should start with..I've been there in three or four different occasions, and there will not be another one!we order the all you can eat menù (five round of different plates) that looked quite an attractive option;basically, after out second round, we waited for 1 hour before to be served for the next one, when we asked to the waitress about the waiting time she told us that it was long because the place was busy. Looking around we saw 3 tables occupied by customers, was a bit late and all the crowed just left. Finally, we were served, and we prepared the ordering paper with the two next following rounds ( to avoid to waist other time waiting), the waiter agreed and went away with our order-sheet.After 20 minutes a lady came back asking us to pay the bill;so, when we asked about our next to rounds, the previous waiter came to the table saying that our third round was comprehensive of the last 2 as well, for a total of 3 rounds in one.IT WASN'T ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!!!!It was precisely the same amount of the second single-round order; after explaining this the waiter fake to not understand our words and we couldn't have a confront about it.Other than this, every time that me, or my fellows, addressed a waiter they were quite clearly annoyed by our requests or questions, answering without neither turning to watching at us.To conclude the sushi was neither especial, being quite flat and, moreover, the sashimi was very cold, probably just took out from the fridge. And this wasn't an extraordinary episode, since even the previous times we experienced the same situation.

The service here is bad, staff are rude and they don't understand any situation... We told the staff please don't mix raw fish buffet menu with non raw sushi and the staff replied you can eat "that" (pointing at raw fish sushi) when we clearly said "she is pregnant" because the staff didn't understand and it looked like she was stressing from not agreeing with us, it made the situation look like we was asking for an argument when really we was just explaining.. To be honest, if you like sushi and have had good quality sushi before. This place is NOT FOR YOU. This place is the same quality as yo sushi.

I've been there a couple of times with friends choosing the all you can eat option. Both time they tried to avoid us having more than two turns (out of five!!), but the second time we went was hilarious! After we placed the order for the second turn they made us wait over an hour with the excuse that it was really busy and the service slowed down, when in fact many customers were already leaving. So by the time we finished eating the second turn, the waiter came to our table saying that we could do only one last order because the kitchen was about to close! We ordered food for all the three remaining turns, and they brought a plate (with an equivalent amount of food of one turn) saying that all we ordered was in there!Apart from this, the waiters were incredibly rude, annoyed every time you asked for information about the food which, by the way, isn't special (I've tried many restaurants as I love sushi). The restaurant isn't worth anything and I've never been more disappointed.

I personally love this place, it’s so much fun. I’ve been in a large group of 10 and as a couple both seem to work equally well. The choice is extensive, the sushi is not the best quality in the whole world but it’s still very good and the restaurant itself is an experience and good for trying new things (It would make a great date destination!).A big bonus is the fact that you can order from both the hot food and the sushi menu, which provides a bit of a variety. My favourite things I ordered were the Salmon Katsu (Hot), Gyoza and the Salmon Sashimi. Not so keen on the Tofu or Calamari I’m afraid.I’ve seen some other reviewers mention that the ordering process is complex-I can’t disagree with that. You pay £19.80 for all you can eat- which I’d definitely recommend rather than ordering off the menu, much more fun! You can then order off the hot menu (you can order as many plates as you like, but you can only order them in one go) and off the Sushi menu (again as many plates as you like, you can order these in up to 5 round). If you order a dish e.g. California rolls they’ll bring you an amount dependent on the size of your party- however this seemed a little sporadic sometimes you’ll get a piece per person, sometimes you’ll get 4-5 per person. There is then a £5 charge for any food you don’t eat within reason to stop people over ordering- I always leave super full!!!The staff can be a little surely, definitely not the cheeriest of people- however when I visited most recently this seemed to have improved slightly, maybe I caught them on a good day! Whatever you do, do not be early and/or late for your reservation- they are not accommodating in the slightest. If you don’t mind complexity and you’re willing to look past grumpy staff, I do think this place is a unique little gem and well worth a visit!Tip: The upstairs tables are much nicer than the downstairs Bar area.

We were able to reserve a table for three for only an hour and a half. When the first member of the reservation arrived earlier, he was not able to wait outside. Instead was forced to sit on our table and wait for the others to come. They told him that our reservation would start from that moment on and not the actual time that the reservation was made. The food was excellent. But we felt like they wanted us to leave asap and the waiters were quite rude, given the fact we were also forced to tip them with a surcharge on our bill.

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend following a friend's advice. The overall experience was ok, the formula all you can eat (19£each + 10% service charge on the total bill) made it worth. The venue is central and the restaurant inside look nice. Quite annoying the fact that you have 1 hour and a half to eat your dinner, but common in this area of london. About food quality it was quite good. Salmon was fresh and tasty while the tune was no good (I tasted much better sushi). With the all you can eat buffet the choice is limited but satisfying. Noting special, but eventually I enjoyed it and I wasn't sick afterwards.

I used to be a very loyal customer. But lately, the service has declined so much. The orders have been confused a number of times now and the waiters just roll their eyes at you when you point it out. The quality of the sushi has gone down a lot as well. They used to make very good sushi with a good fish to rice ratio, but now it just feels like i'm eating rice, and I can hardly taste the fish. They also forgot to put the spicy sauce on my spicy tuna sushi and when I pointed that out, the waiter once again rolled their eyes and insisted I use the extra sauce I'd ordered (which they charge extra you for) and manually put sauce on all my spicy sushi myself. All in all, a very terrible experience. The service and quality of food has been going downhill and they don't seem to care.

We come here on a regular basis for their buffet only as I think their normal menu is expensive given the food quality. Although they had raised the price from £15/person in 2011 to £18/person now, I still think their buffet is good value for money. You have a selection of 10 or more dishes that only served once and a list of sushi dishes (tuna and clamp can only be selected once) and you have 1.5 hours to finish. The food is pretty good (we like the chicken teriyaki, prawn and sweet potatoes tempura), fish is not super fresh but I think main point of buffet is quantity. The staff are nice, never have any problems with them. Just one weird thing is that they play Chinese music instead of Japanese as I assume the restaurant owner is Chinese.

One thing was they took last orders at 10.15 on a Saturday night which I thought was pretty early.Prices were good for London. Very good value for a buffet as sushi is expensive elsewhere in London. Great variety of sushi to choose from.Bit disappointed with the hot menu which you can only order twice from. The chicken "teriyaki" and "yakitori" were very disappointing; it tasted/looked like KFC, not at all authentic. We finally enjoyed some tempura in the second round - the prawn and sweet potato were really nice but a bit disappointed that you can't order again.Service was good and decor was appropriate.

All-you-can eat sushi - what's not to like? The three of us came here when it was pouring outside, and we were quickly ushered to a table below ground floor. The atmosphere was nice and cosy and it wasn't too busy at the time. Their ordering system was a bit confusing and I have to admit I didn't fully understand it but we were well-stuffed with food so didn't really care. Wish we had more sashimi instead of some of the filler stuff (some of which we didn't order), but still, well-satisfied with the food, and the service was speedy, we barely had time for conversation due to the rapid pace of food being served before us. Wasn't the cheapest, but then again, being London and the sheer quantity and quality of food, so no quibble there. Will definitely come again next time we're in London.

I was gathering around in Covent Garden to find a restaurant that I haven't gone before. I saw this restaurant and since far east cuisine is one of my favorite I decided to try the sushies of Izakaya. First I realized that the entrance bar where they make the sushies and prepare the drinks was very messy and seemed dirty to me. I ordered a fixed menu that includes 6 pieces of sushi, miso soup, prawn tempura and some side dishes. I couldn't find any taste in any of them. Especially the sushi was the worst ever! They do not prepare them fresh. They were already there on a plate and the guy who should be preparing them when they are ordered was just cutting it in pieces. It was definitely the most tasteless food I have ever eaten in London.

We ate here before going to the theater. The waitresses were just rude, not interested at all. We did not know how the system worked, and they did not bother explaining it to us. We had to wait forever for them to come to our table. We asked for some water which we never got. Unfortunate I cannot say much for the food either. The sushi was plain, and uninteresting. IN all modesty I must say that the sushi we make at home is ten times better. On top of that the tables are not straight, which makes eating uncomfortable because your plate dances on the table. We left with a bad after taste in more than one respect. I would certainly not recommend this sushi restaurant!

I've been here many times, and always have the 'all you can eat' menu. You need to ask them to see this menu as it's not brought out as standard. This has a smaller selection than their main menu, but you can order about 8 things from a range of hot dishes, and as much sushi as you like. The price of this seems to increase every time I go (£17.20 or so as of August 2013), but is consistently good value for the quality, considering it is all made up fresh. Be careful about how much you order though, as you will be charged £5 per person if you can't eat it all! The restaurant itself is lovely, with wood panelled walls, a water feature, and seats set into the floor upstairs.

The sushi here is good and they have a varied 'all you can eat' menu where you get fresh sushi and hot food for about £16 per person. However after being a few times, I don't think I will be going back. The staff are unfriendly and very funny about where they let you sit; sometimes they insist that you have to eat at the bar even if there are tables free, sometimes they only want you to sit downstairs even though there are seats on the next level, i've phoned ahead booked a table and still not been able to sit where I requested. On the last occasion we asked if we could sit at a particular table only to be told no, when pushed the explanation was that it was reserved. No one sat there for an hour and a half. When we asked what had happened to the reservation they were unable to explain!!! Why lie? Also if you are going for the set menu watch the time that they write at the top of your menu, either by mistake or on purpose they tried to shave 20 mins off our time. As we knew for a fact what time we had sat down we knew exactly when our 1 hour 30 mins was up.As I said sushi good, but several visits have just had it with the staff. Think next time will go to either the hi sushi in Camden or soho.

Which made it all great fun, and it had a great atmosphere ......we had the 17 pounds per head menu, you choose 8 items from the hot menu and 6 form the sushi/ sashimi menu. And if you finish a platter they just keep replacing them Within an hour and a half period, so it s great if you are hungry. The Sushi was delicious and plenty of it. Siamo andati con amici venerdì sera, sfruttando la formula all you can eat. An open planned kitchen which ensures freshly prepared dishes.Recommended to book in advance however, they do cater for walk-ins at the sushi bar area from time to time. Given its location by the theatre (showing shrek) that is advantageous. If you do however book in advance, a Tatami table is a sure recommendation. I enjoyed the food and the service was fine but value for money it isn't. The food was pretty good but not remarkable. Smaller plates are quite well priced but larger dishes are very expensive as is the Sake. The larger choices are in fact small as are the servings of Sake for the price and you have to pay extra for ginger! I quite enjoyed my experience so wouldn't say don't go but I will not return. When I got the bill I was surprised at the total and feel I could have a much better meal elsewhere for a lower or similar price.
