Really good, well-presented food, served in a really pleasant atmosphere. The main 'Hardy' dining room, is big enough for large groups and was ideal. There is a well-stocked bar and a reasonable wine-list. But, the 'Stand-out' feature, was just how helpful and accomodating, that the staff were. We had lunch and breakfast too and they were great too. Brilliant for families as well as formal functions.

So stayed here for 4 nights for a training course which was based at the hotel. Honestly can’t fault anything. Check in was very nice staff were more than willing to help with anything. Room was ample space for my stay and cleaned every day. Breakfast was straight forward and staff again were quick and willing to assist. Lunch was well varied each day and couldn’t fault anything. Evening meals were again faultless. Overall a nice stay.

Looking for lunch or Afternoon Tea, then don't come here. This is our second visit to the Hermitage and on both occasion they have had problems with the Kitchen. You would expect with just three of us our meals would come out together. But not here. Two meals came out and we were well into our meal before the third plate came out. Then we had finished before the side dish to the third meal came. This after our booked Afternoon Tea three months before. We were told there would be a hours wait.

We had high tea to mark a friend's birthday. The service was poor, and the waiter most put out that the only one vegetarian arrived instead of the "stated two". I had to, therefore, have a vegetarian tea. I left early and trying to work out how much I had to pay proved too much for the hotel staff to cope with. Eventually it was sorted with the help of a manager. The high tea was not worth the price charged, in my opinion.

The Sunday lunch was delicious and all food was very nice. Our waiter (Miguel) was absolutely brilliant and very professional. I will definitely be coming here again. Many thanks!

The hotel is clean and nicely presented. We upgraded from our double room which was a little disappointing and enjoyed our stay in a suite which we enjoyed. The restaurant is clean but looks a little dull with its dark table and chairs. The staff are very good. The position of hotel is good being near local attractions and the hop on and off bus stopping opposite. The beach is a few seconds walk with many bars for food and drink. The large wheel and pier add to the vibe.

Last night at The Hermitage Hotel, very mixed feelings about this place. The hotel is extremely dated, The phone in our room is definitely from the 1970’s! I understand that it is being refurbished in October, It is definitely in need, and appreciate that hotels have to find the right time to do this. What I would say is that they charge you an unreasonable rate for what you get. I wouldn’t have paid what I did for what I got. The price should reflect the stay after the referb, as it definitely doesn’t at the moment. When I checked in we had to pay £14 a day for parking in their car park, as we didn’t book with them directly! To me I am a guest and would have thought parking should be included, regardless of who we booked with. In additional you pay £20 a night for the dog, which I think is extortionate! So when we checked in we had to pay an additional £136, not the best start to a holiday! The room was clean, and was cleaned every day. The location is great and very easy to get around. The food was not great! The breakfast was like eating at a Premier Inn (I actually think PI is better) and the dinner is definitely no better. Thankfully you are so central so there are lots of places to eat nearby. This is definitely not a four star hotel, I think that the only saving Grace is the location. It will be interesting to see what it will be like after the referb!

It’s not the fist nor last time stayed at this hotel. Will definitely come back. Very friendly staff. Beautiful view. Food was perfectly made, delicious. Reason why I rated 4 out of 5 is because rooms are hot during hot weather and floor is squeaking. This isn’t an issue for me though just worrying about other visitors.

Went with wife and another couple for Sunday Lunch. A wedding fayre was on so the Restaurant was closed but we were not warned of this in advance. Nor did the advert in the glossy magazine state that a deposit was required. We were seated in a deserted bar area in the corner by the patio doors with two round tables pushed together with tablecloths on, and no other diners in sight. No atmosphere and no apologies either. Friend had carrot and coriander soup (tasteless he said). Me and friends wife had fishcake with Hollandaise sauce, which was okay but also came with a spicy chutney spread liberally on top which didn't go with the former. Few choices for mains. Three has roast lamb which was passable but all the veg was winter roast carrot, parsnip, and swede chunks with roast potatoes. It's June so can't you muscle up some green Spring vegies? I had to send back my meal as it came with gravy and I had expressly asked for it to be gravy free. Can't somebody read an order pad? We were the only diners for Pete's sake My wife had gnochi which she said was 'disgusting' following her first course of Greek salad (not very nice). The only redeeming factor was the ice cream sweet, the Portuguese lady who served us , and the reasonable Portuguese Red Wine at £19 which was pretty good.

had a Bsr meal and couple of drinks before going to the Pavillion Theatre.... very comfortable Bar/Lounge areas and Bar snack menu is perfectly adequate...

3 Superb evening meals at Hardys. Good selection on menu. Generous portions, well presented. Restaurant is the best I have visited in uk and I have visited quite a few.

I was shocked at the price. £50 for dinner for one. Covid used repeatedly as an excuse which is utter BS.

food was very average , service was ok but took far to long, we heard other diners complain about the length of time they had to wait , with one couple complaining that they had been there for 2 hours.

I had an evening meal in the restaurant of the Hermitage Hotel in Bournemouth, the service was exeptional, the staff were very friendly and attentive with a smile every time. The food was so good and presented well and the waiting time between courses was perfect. I would highly recomend this hotel restuarant and would gladly eat here again.

We both enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. Choice of wines from £19 per bottle which for a four star hotel is reasonable.

Sunday lunch. 3 brilliant courses. I had the beef which was excellent, but the Roast Potatoes were even better! Wife loved the corn fed chicken, mother in law enjoyed her sea bass. The staff were really helpful, polite and efficient. Looking forward to the next visit.

We didn’t stay at the Hermitage but as our hotel did not have a Fillet Steak on their menu we decided to have our evening meal here.

Great food an a sensible price, the lamb was loverly the only thing was we informed the restaurant of a strawberry allergy yet the food still arrived with strawberries on the plate and had to be returned. But other wise good

Booked a long weekend and chose this place for the location. It’s very tired and not particularly clean. It would seem that location is the only positive feature.

The three course meal was excellent with plenty of everything. The freshly made coffee to follow was worth waiting for.

We wanted somewhere for a good quality meal for a special occasion and we found one, the food was great and the service excilent we ate there on a cold Sunday night and there was quite a few fellow diners so the atmosphere was also good.

We visited with friends on a Saturday afternoon, for afternoon tea. The menu is good with plenty to choose from.

The hotel chain was running a offer,breakfast and dinner,plus room at a great price,so glad we went!

27 of my friends from Rock Choir had a party here - partly to celebrate an 80th birthday and partly as our annual Christmas meal. What a wonderful time we had. The staff (Ory? and Flavio) were superb. Our 3 tables were beautifully laid out and the service was excellent. We had pre-ordered all the food and everyone enjoyed whatever they had ordered. What a great time we had. Thank you Hermitage. Looks like we'll be back next Christmas (if not before).

Went one evening with a friend to have a pre-show meal. We had a steak each and it was cooked to perfection, so I am now going to try their Sunday Lunches, as very impressed with the food and staff.

La comida era extremadamente sabrosa, abundante y muy bien presentada y hubiera dado 5 si no fuera por el hecho de que la carne era extremadamente dura. Mi amiga le devolvió la suya, pero el reemplazo no fue mejor. Lovely food, lovely menu, giving us a lovely evening. We had the fish, so well cooked. The staff are very attentive, you do not need to ask for water they keep the glass filled. There was no hanging around between courses.

Stopped into this hotel one afternoon. A nice friendly welcome from waiting team. The afternoon tea was delightful. It was fresh with a selection of sandwiches. scones and beautiful pastries. A splendid pot of tea too. This was a very pleasing experience. The service was efficient and friendly.

Acabamos de regresar de una estancia de 2 noches en el Hermitage. Llegamos el viernes y el clima fue horrible: vientos muy fuertes y lluvia torrencial. Nuestra habitación tenía vistas al mar (que habíamos reservado) y, aunque era bastante pequeña, tenía todo lo que necesitábamos. Sin embargo, al regresar después de un viaje a la ciudad, encontramos agua que entraba por el marco de la ventana de madera, aunque las ventanas en sí mismas eran impermeables. We ate in the restaurant yesterday evening. The service was excellent, attentive, friendly and personal and the food was really impressive. A delicious range of choices, beautifully presented, piping hot and delicious. Great value too and in a superb location overlooking Bournemouth beach.

Our favourite place for morning coffee being in pleasant and comfortable surroundings. Nice biscuits and when there once near Xmas, we had mince pies as an alternative.

Ate in the restaurant this evening. Was also allowed to chose from bar menu. Food was beautiful. Had chicken and leek pie with mash and peppercorn sauce followed by orange bakewell. Cost £20 approx. Top quality food and excellent service. Thanks Flavio.

Para el comienzo de "una gran cumpleaños mes "visitamos la ermita el 3 de junio de 2018 para "brunchs'. . . . . . . . . . . Y qué un jolly buena elección. El comedor era fresca y bien ventilada, en un día muy caluroso. Annabelle y su equipo cuidaron perfectamente. Nuestro almuerzo, teníamos 3 campos y café, fue simplemente deliciosa. Sopa de zanahoria, muy caliente, comidas con crotones fue perfecto para mí. Mi marido tenía una ración fría mezclados que disfrutamos muchísimo. Ambos nos elegimos como nuestro plato principal de cordero. Estaba perfectamente lento casero y un sabor delicioso. Pudin a seguir era realmente exquisita y la salsa era la boca. Disfrutamos de nuestro tiempo de tomar un almuerzo lento en un entorno perfecto, donde el personal era atento y competente discretamente tranquilamente.

Viajar a Bournemouth el domingo nos sentimos como un bocado ligero.

I have already posted a review under the hotel, but to reiterate, a superb Sunday Roast, beautifully crisp roast potatoes, good Yorkshire Pud and the whole thing was lovely. Comfortable surroundings and a good location with some parking.

Hotel was clean, plenty of parking. Room service breakfast was on time, hot and very tasty and plentiful. What really stood out was staff member Cintra (apologies if spelt incorrectly) I stay in hotels a lot for both work and leisure and every now and then you meet someone who really stands out with their customer care and Cintra was caring, efficient, knowledgeable and overall 5 star and I hope the hotel Managment appreciate the quality of service she offers.

So disappointed, we visited the hotel this afternoon as a family as part of a Christmas treat for our grandchildren

We went to eat because a friend went to stay there twice a year for many years and loved it. Food very good, Atmosphere very good, service very good, location very good. Would recommend.

Como estaba conduciendo no probé el vino y no pagar tampoco, así que no puedo comentar nada sobre el precio.

we ate here 3 nights running as we were staying as the hotel on a half board basis. The table d'hote menu had a good choice as did the a la carte. The food was very well presented and the staff very helpful.

El camarero nos pusieron en una mesa en el otro lado de la pista de baile, lo que significaba que estaban separados del resto del comedor. Nuestra mesa estaba justo al lado de una pasarela, lo que nos hizo sentir como si nosotros no debería ser allí. De hecho, los camareros no olvidar quiénes somos. Fuimos allí durante la estancia en el hotel. Ambos tuvimos 3 campos con una buena selección para elegir. La carne estaba tan tierno y crepes flambeados eran para morirse. Toda la comida estaba bien preparada y a la orden. El servicio fue excelente, sin ser apabullantes y el precio era muy razonable.

Had only breakfast at hotel and it was ok. They need a little more choices on buffet. Eggs had cheese in it each morning.

Antipasti senza sapore e come secondo un filetto di manza stracotto ... avevamo chiesto uno medium e uno medium rare ... beeh tutti e due quasi inmangiabili... pagare tanto va bene solo quando il cibo è anche buono

Una noche super. Ambiente agradable, excelente servicio y un menú agradable. Elegimos platos de menú estándar razonable y tanto el venado y el postre de mousse de chocolate era super. En contraste la miseria final era entrante gravlax aburrida. Buena selección de vinos por copa decepción por estar servido en copas de vino de calidad industrial pub bastante bien llenos hasta la bandera.

Teníamos el almuerzo y la cena en este restaurante y teatro las comidas eran muy buenas.

My husband and I stopped by for lunch and enjoyed our visit. We had the tuna salad sandwich and the chicken and avocado salad. Both were very good, but the salad greens were especially enjoyable.

Had one meal here, and I would highly recommend. The menu changes regularly and offers a good variety.

Breakfast is self service - all sorts; lunch from thne bar menu and evening dinner are all superb. Seating too is comfortable.

Mi esposa y yo estuvimos aquí para el almuerzo de domingo a finales de enero para celebrar su cumpleaños. A menudo comemos aquí o en un grupo grande o por nuestra cuenta y hasta el final del año pasado la experiencia ha sido impecable. Esta vez fue un poco decepcionante. Puntos positivos: comida caliente en platos calientes y bien presentada. Puntos negativos: verdura fresca mezclada con un contenido muy alto de coliflor and mange revendedores [no nuestra selección de verduras] con sólo dos piezas de zanahoria y algunas largas judías. El servicio era lento, esto, a pesar que a sólo 14 comiendo con un máximo de 17. Tuvimos que pedir varias veces para nuestra agua a recargarla, no nos preguntó si nos gustaría otro rollo hasta después de nuestro plato principal habían servido. Nuestro maitre D Charles favorita tiene por desgracia la izquierda y sin su ojo experimentado y practicado me temo que esta experiencia es aún menos. Le volvamos, posiblemente en el futuro en la esperanza de que el personal que lleva el comedor más experimentados y capaces de dar el servicio a juego con el resto de hoteles que ofrece el Hermitage.

My wife went with friends for a Christmas Lunch in early December. As she had recently had an operation she was in a wheelchair and all staff were very helpful. Lovely meal and very enjoyable time.

This is one of my favourite restaurants, especially for Sunday lunch, the service is efficient but unhurried and the food of a consistently high standard
