Heritage cafe in Glasgow City

Arrived to a warm welcome in a small, cosy and rustically, funky environment. We were there for breakfast and we had a good choice from a breakfast brunch menu which included old favourites with a gourmet twist. Staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful. Dishes although basic were executed well, almost perfect but coffees could be larger.

We thought we would pop along to what was described online as a great wee venue....reviews online praised it sooooooooooo high......the coffee was absolutely awful....the flat white was two mouthfuls and then foam....the latte was tasteless and topped with foam....the heritage meat breakfast exceptionally disappointing however the vegetarian option was tasty....one massive no no no no no was having hot food served on a COLD PLATE!,,,,you don’t serve hot food on a cold plate for goodness sake!!!!!!!!!! The two girlies behind the counter need to be more aware of their surroundings and what’s happening. The chap cooking the breakfast was very nice. This cafe has the potential to be really good....you seriously need to improve on the coffee....try Matthew Algie Coffee.....I think it’s great the you serve lovely white crispy and soft rolls with the breakfast...keep that up folks!!

Have visited on several occasions and always received a friendly welcome. Sometimes I drop in for coffee and cake . There is always a good selection of cakes and serves an excellent quality latte. I have also enjoyed a freshly cooked all day breakfast using quality ingredients. I would recommend a visit you will not be disappointed .

Patrimonio visitado unas cuantas veces y siempre me impresionó, personal muy amable y el servicio es siempre fantástico. Hoy tuvimos el especial riracha con nata huevos escalfados con cebolla y tocino' primavera eran increíbles no yolking. . . Lo recomiendo sin duda.

Fairly new and not easily spotted as you pass, but definitely worth a visit, more than once. menu is a mix of traditional with a modern twist thrown in. Check out the named items on the menu, including the Battlefield and the Holmlea. Now offering discount for emergency services, students, cyclist, magicians etc.

I absolutely love this place. Perfect wee cafe, really good choice of rolls and drinks (whether hot or cold) I like the syrups with my hot chocolate. Made with perfection! I'll definitely be back.
