Hercules Inn in Hinckley and Bosworth

This was our third visit to this restaurant the last being about 18 months ago. Really enjoyed our previous 2 visits with excellent food but unfortunately this visit was very disappointing. We were sat upstairs just inside the door and not in the main room this meant we had a constant stream of people walking past us to get to their tables not a relaxing place to sit and enjoy our meal. I ordered the pork and a side order of tender stem broccoli. It was so hard I was unable to eat it. I complained and was bought a second dish this was equally as hard and again I could not eat it. Although it was removed off the bill it still spoilt my meal. My son ordered Lemon posset for dessert this was like runny liquid and had small chunks of lemon in it which was bitter to eat. We were asked if we wanted some water for the table and was expecting a jug of iced water instead it came in a glass bottle with cork type top which was fine but we were charged £2.00 for the water. Overall it was a disappointing visit although the staff were efficient a smile would have been nice. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

Had an excellent meal here tonight, steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious, fish and chips was very good....a lovely bottle of chilled wine and very pleasant, polite service. Very, very good

Came with extended family and half of us had the roast, half had fish and chips. Starters were OK, fish and chips delicious, but Sunday roast was mediocre with lots of overcooked veggies. Desserts were lovely. Staff were great, with attentive service but food let it down today Bit of a mixed bag - have been before many times and have recommended to others but would try somewhere else now instead.

Excellent meal which we all enjoyed combined with good service. Inside of dining room a bit spartan but good food compensated. Downside was a couple with a small dog on adjacent table which kept pawing at table top and was being fed titbits by owner. I am a doglover but do not want to eat with them

We had a wonderful evening celebrating a family birthday on Saturday evening. The Food was amazing and the service was 1st class. We would recommend the Hercules to everyone, what a special venue.

Some food was quite good some was not so good and the vegetarian was poor. The management attitude was not good as they made a point of telling us that half of our party were 15 minutes late and that we only had two hours less the 15 minutes that had already gone. This was not done in a discrete manner at all and the restriction had not been drawn to my attention when making the booking. Would not have booked for a party of 9 had I known. Would definitely not recommend this venue as our experience was not good.

Went for Sunday lunch last week with a friend. I have a very small appetite but the veggie Sunday lunch was the smallest portion ever. Couple of roasties and a plate of veg to share which was 2 hard carrots and mange tout which I don’t like. Had to order pudding as I was still hungry. £35 each for 2 courses and a glass of wine and went home hungry. Lots of restaurants seem to be increasing their prices and reducing their portions. Will not be back here.

This was always my go to lunch spot, but no longer. Sandwiches are non existent, bring back the roast beef, ham, cheese etc, visited but could find nothing I fancied. Had to go to the pop up tea room next door, so glad I did… no wonder the pub was almost empty at 1.30pm on a Saturday lunchtime.

Good , friendly atmosphere. Dog friendly eating downstairs. I had a delicious steak burger, and fries. Pulled pork was added, and stilton, so tastey! I would definitely recommend.

An old pub in a rural setting that has been redecorated like a London restaurant. Please bring back the old steak and chips menu. The food was expensive and just sadly poor. From muddy pate served in a tiny jar and with two small pieces of baguette and no butter, to so called cheesecake that was also served in a jar because it consisted of a digestive biscuit with a liquid poured over it that was definitely not something that would have turned into a cheesecake, even in a freezer. If anyone goes back for a second meal from this current iteration of the Hercules they must have more money than sense and literally no sense of taste. I enjoyed a number of meals at the Hercules when it was a proper pub with food, and I wish I could go back to then. Hercules team, please, look at what you are serving and what you are charging for it. High prices should result in good food. I am not knocking your serving staff, who are charming, but the kitchen is really letting you down.

Sunday lunch with friends, as usual we were not disappointed. The roasts were excellent and the fish main apparently amazing. One small point..we ordered a side of cauliflower cheese, however, it was broccoli, not cauliflower, which should have been stated. Despite being busy, the service was superb.

Wasn't what I expected - lamb rump and croquette were both very good. However, let down by the jus and puree, neither tasted of anything significant - very disappointed. Ordered a side of peas and chanteray carrots - absolute rubbish in anything shell... no glaze, no seasoning - peas were like bullets, didn't eat them. I said to the waiter that I'd like a concession on the dish... he came back, said the chef said they weren't cooked enough - STILL CHARGED ME FOR THE DISH... Cheese cake was served way to cold, so much so that the temperature impaired the taste, could only taste bitter hint or orange - the base was hardly noticeable and the thyme tuille biscuit was tasteless, was more like a stale biscuit... one of two stewed beef dishes was almost like bottom of the pot, the other portion had some decent chunks of well cooked beef, the sauce was excellent, but no beef - all dishes were well presented but lacked substance overall - all elements of all of the dishes weren't up to more than 7/10, the lamb rump and taste of stewed beef tipped it up to a 7, otherwise overall a 6/10 - not over priced but disappointed that overall what was on the plate didn't do the menu justice - on a good day and if we return I'm hopeful that all aspects of the dishes will be on point. We'll give it another go.

Went for lunch today and found a cracking little restaurant ... Lovely atmosphere and great quality food and drink. Not the cheapest, however, you only need to glance at the decor and surroundings, and you were never going to conclude it was going to be cheap!! Dog friendly too, which is always a good sign of a place

Last minute booking with my husband, sunday lunch was beautiful, not one fault. Washed down with a glass or 2 of fizz. Service was amazing.

Was told about this place at work as bein dog friendly .decided to check it out first made booking day before .was greeted warmly by staff shown to our table ,the place looked very clean .we went upstairs to be seated good choir of food drinks .

The food at Hercules Revived is excellent and all the staff are lovely and attentive. There are always great food and cocktail specials on offer, can’t wait to go back again soon!

The food here is made with the care and attention to detail that makes normal pub food, special. But not too special or fussy. It’s just perfect. The smoked salmon zinged with flavor and the fish and chips was one of the best I’ve ever had. I didn’t want it to end!

Fabulous evening. Fabulous private area and meal. The manager and staff were excellent in helping us to accommodate and satisfy a party of ten consisting of adults, children and vegetarians. Would definitely recommend highly and look forward to our next visit.

I have always had great meals & spot on service at Hercules. Last nights evening meal had the "wow " factor the cod with pea arancini, the deserts of cheesecake & rice pudding completed the meal. The quality of the food & service here leaves other places in the shadows.

Popped in at lunchtime on the off chance that there might be a table free. Got lucky, lovely food, beautifully presented, no sense of being rushed. Chilled afternoon and much appreciated by all.

We were invited to an early meal with friends. On a very wet and miserable evening the atmosphere was very welcoming. The food was very good and the service very attentive. Well worth a visit.

Hemos comido aquí muchas veces y siempre ha sido fantástico, así que decidimos tener el cumpleaños de mi marido fiesta aquí. Estuvimos un grupo de 23 y el chef diseñado un menú especial con 3 opciones de entradas y plato principal para nuestros clientes para elegir. Ya que estábamos un grupo grande nos pedidos y el evento no podría haber ido mejor. Como de costumbre, todo el personal hizo lo imposible, incluso ayudando con el plan de mesa y escrito hasta tarjetas de lugar, con las opciones de comida del pueblo en la parte de atrás (ahorrado mucha confusión en la noche! ). La comida era fabulosa, como siempre, pero tengo que hacer una mención especial del Shin de carne de vacuno - para morirse! Chris (el chef increíble) hizo un assiette para el postre y todos los 3 mini postres eran fabulosas, especialmente la torta de chocolate. El servicio, especialmente ya que estábamos como una gran fiesta, estaba impecable, con un montón de camareros y camareras atendiendo a nosotros y asegurarse de que nuestras copas siempre lleno!! Buena relación calidad-precio también, hice un partido en casa año pasado por el mismo número de personas y por el tiempo que había alquilado en vajilla y cubertería ( que tiene suficientes platos para una comida de 3 platos por 23?) comprar toda la comida y el vino, etc. , este evento en el costo de Herc sobre el mismo - con mucho menos estrés. El mejor restaurante de la zona, manos y recibimos tanta comentarios positivos de nuestros amigos. encantados!

Visitamos el viernes por la noche tener sólo reservado a las 4:30 esa tarde. Nos informaron de que sólo había una mesa en el bar, que nos vino muy bien. El cerdo costeleta y filete de Añojo estaban ordenados y cuando llegamos estaban muy abundantes. El filete era deliciosos y uno de los mejores que he probado. chocolate y Drambuie torta para terminar fue sublime. una botella de Cabernet Sauvignon era más que bienvenidos. a más de £65 por dos pensé que no era demasiado caro teniendo en cuenta la calidad de la comida.

yo reservamos una mesa para 6 con la familia y amigos para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi esposa. Nos habían dicho que estaba bajo nueva dirección y que tenía una buena reputación por su comida y servicio, y no nos decepcionó.Tuvimos una excelente noche en un ambiente muy acogedor, y valió cada centavo, la comida era excelente, el servicio maravilloso, las camareras muy atento sin ser intrusivos, y volveremos muy pronto.

Contacted the Hercules a couple of weeks before Christmas as was organising a family get together in the new year, they were very accommodating to my request, they wrote us a personal menu as I had requested a set menu for the guests to choose three courses from, they sat us in a private room so as not to disturb other diners as were a party if 20 family members, they even let us pay separately for our drinks ! I couldn't fault the meal and all of my guests commented on the standard of the food. The only complaint was that we were not on one table but as said we were a large party so it is understandable. A big thank you to Ollie for responding to my emails so quickly despite it being over your busy period and compliments to the chef for an excellent menu well executed, could not recommend the place enough.

Mi marido habló con el gerente varias semanas previamente y me dijeron que no iba a ser un menú a la carta y mi marido también les pedí que si podían hacer sin gluten, que la respuesta es sí. Cuando llegamos nos dieron una pequeña ubicado aproximadamente en el menú: 4 entrantes ( todo aburrido ) unos 5 platos principales incluyendo hamburguesas, pasteles, de pescado y patatas y un filete de más de £20.00 . aproximadamente. 5 postres Eton desastre (fresas lata) y jarabe de fecha esponja, helados y limón y limón. Nuestra hija nos dijeron que no había sin gluten y ella podría haber hamburguesa sin el panecillo, tarta sin la corteza, no el plato de pasta y las patatas estaban bien! esto no fue la Noticia años día almuerzo nos estaban esperando.Se lo comenté a esto en el comienzo de la comida que el menú era muy limitado y me dijo el director al final que "no podían hacer una carta de un restaurante lleno de gente" que también no podía tomar nuestro muy café fuerte y cuando me decían, dijo que era nuestro gusto y este fue el mejor café del mundo! hemos estado antes y ahora han cruzado de nuestra lista para comer fuera.

Hercules Restaurant Main St, Sutton Cheney, Warwickshire CV13 0AG ...Dec 7th We are a party of 17 arriving at the above to celebrate a Wedding anniversary, when entering the restaurant we were directed to the top room which easily catered for our party of 17,the waiters settled us down with wine menus which was comprehensive and reasonably prices for our choices of wine, as our meals had been previously ordered to avoid any confusion I found the service was swift and with more than one of us forgetting what they ordered it was quickly sorted, we were served with warm plates and excellent food through the night and cannot fault the service. Having visited the Hercules on a previously occasion and having an excellent meal I fully expected the quality to drop with a pre-ordered 17 meal appointment. Wrong, the food hadn’t changed it was excellent with waters tendering our need at all times. The Hercules is a unique restaurant with small cosy rooms for two and larger rooms to cater for larger parties. The restaurant has excellent taste with its food, wine and is decorated with easy on the eye colours. We will be back. Harold Palmer

No me puedo quejar de la comida o el servicio y era particularmente impresionados con la paloma y plato negro de budines. Mi única crítica sería que encontramos la lista de vino a ser un poco finas en variedad y muy europeo: Noir a mediados de rango de Nueva Zelanda Pinot estaría bien. Had a fantastic meal again, the food & service always very good. Chef always get the balance of flavours just right and his attention to detail is second to none. We only wish they had room for Christmas dinner!

We turned up at the Hercules Revived at the end of lunchtime, with a large party and no reservation to find the restaurant full. The staff's response was to immediately open up the upstairs restaurant for us.

We stepped in this pub and there were only about 3 tables, all full. We got stared at as soon as we entered and to be honest, felt a little out place as we were not the locals! So we went back to Market Harborough.

el sábado por la tarde en el Hércules. muy lleno cuando llegamos, pero nos sorprendió ver abajo vacío cuando nos fuimos. El servicio era excelente y nuestro joven camarero era un crédito para el restaurante. La comida era muy buena, pero yo no diría que es excelente. Mi plato de marisco era sabrosa pero el cangrejo fueron anidado en agua que afectó el sabor. Había un plato básico de una etiqueta 10 libras y de precio habría esperado un poco más en términos de sabor. Mi compañero me encantó su plato de palomas, y estaba muy bien cocinados y presentados. principales incluido un pollo y chorizo risotto - perfectamente agradable pero un poco escaso en sabor. Más chorizo habría hecho el plato más sabroso y lamb rump. Esto fue preparado bien pero bastante graso. encantado de haberlo no habíamos pedido. Buena selección de vinos. El menú era limitado, pero hay algunas especialidades diarias. Lo recomiendo y volveremos

Un crítico dijo que éste era un "Country Pub', yo diría que es más un restaurante con un bar. no te sientes como un pub de país en todo el mundo, pero eso no es malo. El interior es muy moderno y le da una sensación del restaurante. Nos sentamos arriba, que creo que es mejor, más espacio, lejos de la estrecha/recepción del bar de la planta baja. La selección de comida en el menú es bastante bueno y está complementada por varias ofertas. Entrantes oscilan entre unos £5 y £10, principales entre £10 y £20 y postres entre £5 y £8. El servicio era excelente, amable y atento en todo momento. Todos nuestros aperitivos estaban muy bien, la pinta de gambas era agradable retro recuerdo con shell en dos salsas y langostinos, gambas cóctel que 'lo que dice de la lata', el queso de cabra tarta era sabrosa aunque la base era un poco exageradas, los champiñones eran deliciosos. Para platos principales el eglefino y patatas fritas eran Fayre gastrointestinal típica con una taza de patatas fritas crocantes rústicas, filete de eglefino perfectamente preparada y algunos guisantes, aunque no 'puré de guisantes gurtas' aquí! Tal vez un poco de un cliché ahora. El cordero era excelente, agradable y rosado, gran salsa y una buena parte. Las salchichas eran muy buenas, pero £11 por 3 salchichas en un poco de puré con una salsa, hmmmm quizás un poco caro. Tres de nosotros tiene helado de postre, varios sabores, todos estaban bien (Gopsall Farm) con sabores agradables pero no destacaba muchos de los helados que hemos tenido en el pasado. Una muy buena cosa sobre el Hércules revivido es la promoción de comida fresca producida localmente, muy recomendable. Tres campos por alrededor de £25 por persona con un par de bebidas parecía una buena relación calidad-precio. Una muy buena cena por el Hércules revivido, volveremos y lo recomendaremos a nuestros amigos.

Tuvimos una boda preescolar comida familiar y mi cuñado que había volado desde GIB estaba abrumado - es un largo tiempo ya que él estaba en un pub inglés. creía que era fantástico y el sabor perfecto de la casa que se ha perdido. Había 10 de nosotros y todos pensaron que la comida era fabulosa, los precios estaban bien y la factura era alrededor de £325, que incluía todas las bebidas y la botella de vino o dos : - ). La comida era muy buena, bien considerado, estaba bien preparada y bien presentada. Sin duda volveremos. El personal era muy atento a los miembros más jóvenes de nuestro grupo - el único inconveniente era la falta de instalaciones para cambiar a los bebés, pero me dijeron que por el personal fueron próximamente.

Vivimos localmente y finalmente encontramos la oportunidad de visitar para el almuerzo. Comimos abajo (el almuerzo es generalmente justo abajo, pero las cenas son tomadas arriba), y el lugar está decorado con gusto y los muebles son cómodos. El menú ofrece una buena selección de entrantes, platos principales, postres y sándwiches junto con platos secundarios. La comida y las bebidas tienen un precio razonable. Cada campos llegó en un tiempo aceptable y estaba muy bien presentado y tenía un sabor delicioso. Los ingredientes frescos y la carne era localmente originario. Los anfitriones y el personal es encantador y promover un ambiente relajante y acogedor. Nos lo pasamos muy bien y sin duda volveré a probar la sesión de noche muy pronto.

After passing this place a number of times, my wife & myself thought we'd give it a try,first impressions were good; a nice fresh decor, welcoming smile from the hosts all the things that the previous reviews had mentioned, the lunch menu, although relatively small, was pretty well balanced, along with specials which consisted of daily burgers & pasta, food was good and nicely presented, I particularly enjoyed mine (soda battered haddock with hand cut chips) though my wifes carbonara wasn't the best, the cream sauce had split essentially leaving the pasta covered in clarified butter & giving it an overall greasy finish, this was fairly evident as soon as the bowl was placed down, we didn't complain, though I did mention it when paying the bill.

I will definitely be returning to this restaurant, it was delicious food and the serving staff ensured we enjoyed our dining experience; opening windows, bringing water etc.

Acabamos de regresar de una estupenda comida en el Herc, primera vez comer aquí, aunque somos muy local y nos sorprendió la comida! realmente delicioso, bien presentado y costo razonable teniendo en cuenta la calidad! El servicio era excepcional, no tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para bebidas y cada campo llegó el momento ideal, no teníamos prisa entre campos y igualmente no tener que esperar una eternidad! postres para morirse, y uno de los mejores bistecs que he comido! Sin duda volveremos!

La primera vez comiendo en el nuevo Hércules (por una vez había una mesa libre) y me quedé totalmente satisfecho con toda la experiencia. El menú es magnífica, podría haber seleccionado algo de los entrantes principales de/. Era casi como si fue escrito justo para mí. Después siguió una comida excelente, sin prisas pero cocinado a la perfección. Este lugar reúne "" cocina inglesa. Bien hecho no puedo esperar para volver.

Hemos tenido una bebida en el bar de abajo un par de veces ya que el Hércules reemplazados pero es la primera vez en el nuevo comedor. Me encanta la decoración de aquí ha sido muy bien diseñado. La comida era absolutamente encantador con porciones generosas, me decepcionó que no podía caber en un entrante o postre! Recomiendo el risotto. para bien creatividad comida bien presentada a un precio razonable. El servicio era lento para bebidas y comidas aunque suficiente para hacer comentario y el restaurante no estaba a plena capacidad. El personal se disculpó sin embargo. Volveremos seguro

Visitamos con amigos para comer el domingo. No había una enorme variedad en el menú. Entrantes elegimos eran pate y gambas cócteles (no muy inventiv) pero sabía fabuloso. Las otras opciones eran sopa, champiñones y otro. platos principales, 2 de nosotros tuvimos ternera, cordero y 1 1 cerdo incluidas verduras y patatas. Todo estaba buenísimo y la presentación era encantador. mala elección de postres todos pensamos que, todos muy cremoso. Pedimos una alternativa y dieron pegajosa pudding toffees, fresas, así que en general es muy acogedor. El ambiente es encantador, el personal excelente.

La reforma se ha hecho bien. Las mesas de la parte de arriba que están cerca de las ventanas tienen la vista más fantástica de un corral para la 11 iglesia del siglo XVII. La comida era muy buena, me encontrar muchos restaurantes de comida de temporada, pero aquí el chef conseguido el equilibrio correcto. fue genial para comer fuera y no despertar con la boca seca debido a una sobrecarga de sal. Menú tiene suficiente variedad sin ser demasiado extenso - el pastel de carne estaba abarrotada de muy sabrosa carne y el vientre de cerdo estaba bien preparado. Nos costó un poco de tiempo para que nos atendieran inicialmente, pero en conjunto el servicio era amable y atento. Todos trabajando a alrededor de £30 por persona con bebidas.

Its grreat food with great service know what they talk about could not be more helpful and I have taken clients from France who have said " its the best food they have ever eaten" Personally I will be looking to have my wedding here it is that good. Service always with a smile atmosphere amazing yet relaxed and you never feel rushed. The welcome that you will recieve is fantastic as for the food its out of this world. Summary Service 10/10 Atmosphere 9.5/10 Presentation 10/10 Staff 10/10 food 10/10 price 9.5/10 Good English food with that special something, that little bit extra that you are looking for.

Came here years ago when it was a pub it has lost character but the food is excellent now I had an excellent steak and decent beer!

Had driven past this Inn whilst it was being refurbished and promised myself I would go there. Was disappointed with my courses although friends seemed happy with their meals. The course description was far better than the course itself although presentation was excellent. The starter and main course that I had were insipid without any depth of flavour. Service was very disjointed as no-one appeared to be in charge. For example, we were offered a carafe of water after our desert - seems strange that no-one offered us one at the start of our meal. No-one paid attention to removing clean glasses that were surplus to requirements, nor spent glasses. On a plus, the decor is great although some of the chairs are a bit small. Value for money was nonetheless, very good as drinks were good value

My Mother and I recently went to The Hercules, and had a fantastic experience, we could not fault the surroundings, the service and most importantly the food. Cant wait to go back

We stopped by here for Sunday dinner a couple of weeks ago. The food was perfectly ok, a little 'standard' if you like. The roast beef I had looked like it had been sliced very thinly by a machine (or even out of a packet??), but did taste very nice.Not the cheapest place on Earth for what they are offering. For this sort of money, I would have expected a little more special meal than what it was. Portion size I would describe as average, i.e. filling the best part of a large dinner plate.I wouldn't rush back, but if I'm around there again, I would think about it.

I've been an occasional visitor for a few years however this was my first visit under the new management. It was also the first time I had been in the original bar area.The renovation has been done to a high standard and the pub is bright and welcoming.The food is prepared using many local suppliers.We had a leisurely late lunch and were made to feel very welcome by the staff who were happy to take orders at the table. The food was fresh and very tasty.I didn't have a drink however they serve a select range of beers, lagers and ciders on tap including local ales.
