Finally found a place for some refreshments in a village that was sadly lacking in the hospitality stakes. Although the food was ok the prices and service were not! The locals definitely got priority and we were left with the impression that if you weren't local or weren't prepared to spend big bucks you were not welcome, and that's pretty much the impression we had with the rest of the town. No facilities no welcome and the ONLY PUB was members only so NO admittance to strangers!

Walking around the village we came across the cafe which seemed busy quite early in the morning. We were tempted to give it a go and are so glad we did. On entering the cafe via the deli entrance one is met by a quirky range of tables and chairs, books to read and very tempting cakes. The ladies serving were so charming and one immediately felt so welcome and part of the surroundings. Both the banoffee and coffee and walnut cakes were scrumpy. Tea and coffee were equally good and the prices were most reasonable. It was a real pleasure to sit and hear the local chat as we enjoyed our orders. What a friendly place and one that is highly recommended.

Three of us visited Henry's one morning for tea/coffee. The beams and rustic tables add atmosphere, but it can be a little cramped getting in or out of certain seats. The tea/coffee were good and the Bakewell tart was very good with plenty of the jam filling (often a weak point). The flapjack was also good.Worth visiting for a refreshment and a bakery item.A little pricey in my opinion, but probably worth it for the quality cakes etc.
