This is how England fish 🐠 and chips is meant to flavor like. It reminded me of the England from 1970' 12pm 1980' and 1990' ! Perfect flavor 🤤

Service with a smile goes a long way but far from the experience I had. Chips were like chewing on leather and the battered sausage was rock hard and tasted like it's been sat in the heat cabinet for days. The curry sauce was so solidified that it came out in one lump and resembled jelly. I am definitely not visiting again!

Did not like the taste of the burger the pastry on the pasty was not to good weren’t to keen on the chips

Fish over cooked, oily, chips were horrible. Once bitten twice shy. Never again.

Henleaze fish bar forgot my burger and wanted me to have refund for burger. reorder burger at my cost of delivery and surcharge and then deliver original burger. I would have to wait for burger to turn up so other food would be cold. I didnt accept order and canceled for a refund. Bad customer service,wont use again.

Driver was rude. Said he called many times but nothing on either of mine or my partners call log. Never heard the door knock or door bell go. Opened the door to the food on the floor and the driver waiting in his car to shout at us saying he had called.

if you want a Clarke pie you be lucky to get one got given steak with something soggy put in bin then would try again got a chicken one after I asked him to make sure chips dry and reheated never again

First time back for a good few years. What a disappointment. The chips were over cooked and tasted bitter. The fish was tolerable but the batter was heavy and overdone. To top it off they don't accept card - quite annoying when your spending £17 on two portions of fish and chips.

Lovely to find somewhere that actually still does the salt and vinegar on the chips. Thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Vegetarian sausage was just mush and full of grease it fell apart when taken out of the wrapper so wasn’t eaten. Rest of the food was hot and tasted great though I wouldn’t thought there’d be more chips for the price.

Ordered large haddock . Chips and curry sauce . Although the fish looked nice , the batter was a bit soggy and the fish tasted strange . Kind of amonia like . I’m pretty sure it was not haddock . Very disappointing. Be wise when ordering from here

Perfect! Delicious freshly cooked F&C. The fish was cooked to perfection ,not under or over cooked and wow ...the batter was thin and crisp,no stodge.Concidering I live a few miles from the chippy the food was nice and hot. So far I haven't come aross a better price to match this chippy. I highly rate them 10/10.

1st time visiting and will definitely be back. The chips were fresh and lovely and the sauasges we had very nice. It's cash only so beware if you go there.

WOW Worse chip shop EVER, Old chips, all ends,tasteless curry sauce, just sauce, very small fish, over cooked, (U need to have fish already cooked so the oil can drain off, u also need to have other foods in your warmers, your obviously taking them out the freezer, microwaving them,(NOT HYGIENIC). Stopped off to get dinner after visiting my mum in southmead hospital. Absolutely delicious Veggie burger and chips, and my kids loved the fish cake and chips and the battered sausage and chips. Everything was delicious and as I didn’t have cash, I paid by Apple Pay with no problems. We enjoyed this very much, portions were very big and the service was good. We’ll be back!

fish was well overcooked and batter was rock hard, also service with a smile changed when i tried to pay by card, told to go to garage as they had a cash machine but when i didn't they actually accepted my card.

This is my local takeaway fish & chip shop. There is always a wide choice of food items and the food is usually cooked to order.

Stale food cooked twice and sold, children couldn’t even chew the battered sausages! Really disappointed as not a cheap visit to the chippy!

I ordered Gravy but i received a vinegar pot. I think the usage of gravy wording is misleading needs picture representation. I couldn't take the gravy. I just thrown it away. Fish is good but it feels more oily. Quantity of chips is more.

If I could have given them a 0, I would have!! Ordered chips, asked for salt and vinegar, taste like there was nothing on them. The man working there was extremely rude! To top it off, when I got the chips out of the bag, the chip bag broke and fell apart as it was poorly wrapped and the chips fell out! I asked for cod bites, he said he would do them and I ended up with fish cakes. Will never be using this chip shop again.

The food was good, albeit late. My mushy peas had leaked because the plastic lid on the pot had melted (maybe on reheating them in a microwave) so only 1/2 a pot of peas. But otherwise great!

when I ordered it said delivery time was going to be 30 mins thats why we ordered it from that takeaway but it ended up being delayed by over an hour because you had no drivers not happy with the food either as portions were small

The food was cold have missing some items I had to chuck it all out in the bin my sisters can eat the food really up set about it.

The food was shocking for the price we paid and won't be going here again very disappointing. They microwave the pies, and the cheeseburger was like cardboard as it was cooked in the oily fryer as for the fishcake its was really burnt and when you bite into it loads of oil came out of it. This place is the worst I've eaten from and very over priced. I was being generous giving it even 1 star it doesn't even deserve that.

Awful chips, not even edible. They look as though they’ve been fried about 5 times. Gravy is runny and tastes bitter. Really wouldn’t recommend.

Used Deliveroo for first and last time. The price of Cod did not include chips and when I rang Henleaze refused to add. Fish tasty but extortionate as well as Curry Sauce. £17.93 for small fish and small container of curry sauce.Never Again.

Bought haddock and chips here on Friday and was extremely disappointed with the fish size! £7 something for two tiny pieces. But the worst thing about the meal was the foul ammonia/peroxide taste of the fish. Really horrible. 2 stars because the chips saved the extortionate amount.. somewhat. Wont be coming here again.

This is our go-to chipy. The staff friendly and the service is always good. 9 times out of 10 the food is fantastic, which to us is more than acceptable.

A few years ago we were recommended this company for good fish and chips...we’ve given it a handful of goes over the years. Thinking we may have chosen a bad day...but each time we’ve found that the atmosphere and attitude was NEGATIVE, UNFRIENDLY AND UNWELCOMING with NO LOVE for customer service and the quality of food I has got progressively worse. This is the last time for us. There is something deeply wrong with the heart of this company. They can’t give this poor service and expect to blessed in business.

Peas were too soupy. Cod had skin on it. Chips could have been better. Confusing serving system and they don't advertise that they don't take card, although there is a cash machine at the petrol station nearby.

We have been struggling to find fish and chips during lockdown and my friend recommended this one.... Top notch, travelled well. I got a large order and delivered it some friends and all contacted me to say how much they enjoyed it. Definitely worth a visit.

After not visiting the Henleaze Fish Bar for a couple of years, I gave it another try. The food was dried up, not as hot as it should have been, and overpriced. I will not be returning.

A friend of mine uses this place on a regular basis, and I have just moved to the area, so makes this place more accessible for me. Had friends round for a fish & chip supper and it was "delivered" by my friend who lives locally too - the food was hot and the sizes were of the right size Would use again. Disgusting, greasy food with even worse service. Owner is particularly unpleasant. Avoid at all costs! Ruined my Monday night

The chips were brown and ahould have been binned. They were so old and barely warm. They bread was that awful bun that falls apart,not a typical decent bap. Plus there was a spider in it. Yes a spider. Absolutely disgusting. Never going there again
