Lovely place to relax, great food and nice a nice atmosphere. Good variety of food and good music on a summer evening. It’s great that they offer simple food not just a la cart.

Our first visit, but it won't be our last. Fantastic quality and great value for money. I had a ciabatta roll filled with steak and cheese plus chips and salad, my wife had a prawn salad, both were excellent

Hidden gem! So many options along the high street for food, but this has to be up there as one of the best! Amazing quality of food at a very good price as well. More people need to discover this place. Would 100% recommend coming here!

Visited lunchtime for Tapas. Absolutely awful. Dry as if cooked hours earlier. Paid £20 for 5 items. Son was treating his dad and myself which made it worse. Told waitress worst Tapas we had ever had and I think she thought we were joking. Will not be returning and suggest you take these items off menu if you if you find this standard acceptable.

Having visited Hythe many times over the last few years for a nice lunch etc. (😉) we were told by a friend that there is a lovely coffee shop/bar/restaurant in the high street called, 'Henry's', that has a lovely garden area at the rear that many people are unaware of, well my wife and I called in and were absolutely amazed by the unknown garden, beautiful place, peaceful, almost meditation territory, staff (Collette I believe) was brilliant, bringing our drinks to us in the garden and advising us of the steps to access the toilets, would advise better highlighting of access to the toilets as I made it the first time but almost demolished the galleon second time round 😏 Will definitely return to this establishment, and try to bring some friends, beautiful place, 💕

Stopped by for lunch to be welcomed by a lovely young woman member of staff who asked if we needed any help who, when told of my wife's DF and GF intolerances immediately checked availability of menu items with the chef- that sold it for us when we discovered their willingness to meet our needs, so having found a lovely sun shaded seat in the garden, ordered our food and had large glasses of excellent Merlot and Domain Montrose Rose in hand we knew we had made the right decision. Excellent menu options and cooking, great wine list and wonderful service. Thanks so much for our lovely lunch

Disappointing. Went with two friends for lunch to celebrate birthday and found a lot lacking. We did not get the specific table we had booked and were told we had booked this for the previous day. Despite being certain this was not the case, (after all it was a birthday) there was no apology or acceptance from front of house that this might possibly have been their mistake. We were offered an alternative table in a scruffy yard area of the garden. The parasol had seen better days and the furniture needed a good make over. The waitress who took our order was charming yet a young waiter who came to take our dessert order (we didn’t want dessert but ordered coffee) walked away without clearing the plates and bowls from our main meal. We ended up stacking them for collection ourselves. The bill was more expensive than we had expected for a small main meal, a bottle of wine and four coffees, and overall the experience was disappointing. In these financially hard times, people may not be eating out so much but when they do decide to spend their hard earned money they want a positive value for money experience.

I was in Hythe and popped into this restaurant that a friend of mine recommended. I ordered beef and Guinness stew and it was very delicious. The service was also great as they were very nice. I give 5 stars.

We were seriously misled by the rave reviews. The outside eating area at the rear was scruffy and uncared for, the tables had not been wiped, and the parasols and furniture were in dire need of an update. The food portions were small and expensive (our fish pie cost £14 and consisted mainly of mashed potato and spinach with only a hint of haddock and only 3 prawns). In addition we strongly objected to having to pay extra for any accompanying vegetables. The waitress, however, was delightfully engaging and helpful.

Looking for something where we could enjoy the sunshine and miss the breeze this week for a late lunch - the garden at Henry's fit the bill so in we went with a bit of trepidation as the place was empty! However, had a fab lunch (chicken pie, beef in Guiness) with one of the nicest Voigners I've had for me, and one of the best beers tasted in town it was said by my fabulous partner. Served by a really nice guy who was attentive not obtrusive. If we'd been in Hythe longer would definately have gone again....

Called on spec for a quick lunch. Told the very helpful and pleasant young staff that we only had 50 minutes. They obliged with an excellent quiche and salad. The quiche pastry was really, really good. We ate in the very pleasant rear garden – a great experience and we hope the establishment does well.

We had a Sunday roast. A choice of beef or pork and we both chose pork. The meat was lovely but unfortunately that was the only good thing about the meal. The roast made up of 3 small roast potatoes, a handful of carrots and parsnips with a Yorkshire pudding on a small plate. Cauliflower cheese was served on the side however this was brought to our table when we had almost finished our meal. Although the ramekin dish it was served in was very hot to touch the Cauliflower was cold and inedible. We usually have a roast out and about in this area on a Sunday and this was very poor...not value for money compared to the others around Hythe

We have tried many restaurants in Hythe and have always left feeling a little disappointed but not tonight. We were led to their secret garden, what a delight, buzzing this evening, then the food arrived, so enjoyable. We will be back before too long. Told my son about it, he has reserved a table for next week.

My family and I visited this lovely small wine bar and restaurant on 5 August for lunch. It has recently been taken over and we were met at the door by a very knowledgeable and good mannered waiter. The south facing garden is a lovely place to sit in the shade beneath the vines and enjoy a glass of wine, pint or G&T. The staff were very helpful, couldn't do enough for us. The menu was good but is quite limited, especially for children. However the food we ordered was all delicious. We had smoked rainbow trout and hot smoked salmon with granary bread and horseradish cream which was very well presented and very tasty. We also had a plate of local Kentish cheeses some olives and a basket of mixed breads. We will definitely go again if in the area. Highly recommended for groups without children, the only issue for children being the somewhat limited menu. That said mine wolfed down the bread, cheese and olives and we all had a lovely time. Topped off with a lovely tray of homemade chocolate truffles to round the meal off, courtesy of our waiter.

myself and my son visited Hythe for 4 days early August. Whist strolling down the high Street, a young man who works at the venue, Paul, asked us if we were looking for dinner. We were, so we went in. The food, service and friendliness was beyond comparison. Well done to all of you, in particular Paul and Henry. We returned 2 days later. Absolutely brilliant

I was visiting Folkestone with my boyfriend and we had booked dinner in nearby Hythe for the evening. We stumbled across Henry’s and we are so glad we did! It’s a great spot with a romantic outside seating area. Staff are super friendly and attentive ensuring it’s a welcoming atmosphere for all. Wine is great and we just wish we lived closer so we could make it our regular!

Really impressive wine selection, friendly atmosphere and the garden is beautiful. It was early on a Friday evening and not particularly busy (due to Covid presumably), yet the staff were fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming, they are a credit and we will be returning soon. Highly recommend.

I knew Henry’s of old, and avoided it. However, I heard that during lockdown there had been a change of management so my wife and our two children have it a try. We had the truffled Macaroni , the confit of chicken and my vegetarian daughter had the squash curry. Such delicate, refined cooking, the deep fat fryer has been binned and some proper cooking going on here. Excellent wine list too, lots of wines by the glass which is good to see. Highly recommended, a breath of fresh air in Hythe

Terrific light lunch and bottle of wine in the garden at Henry's, which has recently reopened under new management and chef. The garden is a lovely shady spot to sit, excellent short menu (I would happily order literally anything on it) and well chosen and very reasonably priced wine list (£17 for bottle of good quality house red or white). This is a really really good addition to the High Street.

How lovely to rediscover our venue after a few months away. Henry has made full use of the time away as have many local businesses to provide an improved experience . It was lovely before but everything has been tweaked and frankly improved. There are more seating options including a rather nice secluded garden at the back, still comfy counters for more intimate cosy - still ready to find like-minded regardless of age. The food menu and wine choices have been overhauled still giving value for money and if anything in these times there is just a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Thank you to Henry, Ben and not least the other customers some of whom are regulars but some just come in off the High Street. Long may it continue! Why not pop in and see what you think!!

I must say that Henry gives the establishment a real atmosphere, it is warm and welcoming and very friendly even if you fancy coming out to dinner on your own. The staff are wonderful and very accommodating making it easy to sit at the bar even on your own and enjoy a nice Glass of wine whilst waiting for your food to cook. First experience, went on a Sunday for a roast dinner with family. Lovely friendly staff and when our meal arrived, it looked amazing and tasted even better. Clearly top quality ingredients and an experienced chef who knew how to add the little extra flavour that made the meal stand out. A definite must and I can’t wait to try more from the menu. Definitely a winner and very good value!

I visited a few months back and had an amazing meal, so thought I would book for a special family meal. Six steaks ordered three returned as they were cold, came back still cold but now with cold chips as well. My son mentioned his steak tasted strange, I smelt it, it was off and smelt awful. They apologised and cooked another and took his steak off the bill. The restaurant still looks unfinished and untidy, lovely view of the lad doing the washing up! Very disappointed as really enjoyed my last visit.

Yesterday evening we went for the re-launch at Henry’s (former Hendricks at 152). Brilliant evening! The complimentary taster food was so delicious. The relocation of the new bar (which will open soon) will be a great asset to venue. In addition to the normal menu there will be a menu with small bites which compliments drinks ever so well. A breakfast menu will be available soon. You can be assured of a really pleasant experience!

We were looking forward to a nice evening out and an enjoyable steak. It started to go downhill when we were quoted £40 for a bottle of Rose wine! Later we were told that the price was for a Magnum but we had already been shown a normal size bottle. The restaurant appears to have undergone a refurbishment it was however not yet fully complete. We both ordered rib eye steaks one definitely medium and one medium to rare. We both sent them back as they were blue/rare. We also ordered a pepper sauce which poured like water and had no flavour Unfortunately the steaks came back only slightly better cooked and by this time we had lost our appetite. The owner came and apologised and only charged for one steak. I don’t think between us we ate more than a couple of ounces of steak and half a dozen chips.

Came here for lunch last Friday with a friend on a girly day out. Warm welcome and relaxing atmosphere in garden. We felt like we were on holiday! I can honestly say the rump steak (rare and properly rested) was the best I've ever had....YUM! Service was very friendly and efficient. What lovely people. Will definitely be back. No photo as too busy eating!

After a long journey in the car from Switzerland we were searching for a place to eat after 9 pm. All the Pubs were closed so we found Hendricks. Very friendly staff. One of the best steaks I have ever had in my life an a ate quite a lot of them. Really highly recomandable. Thanks again guys.

This is an establishment which doesn’t know who it is catering for and lacks any imagination in its offerings. The ‘lovely’ pub garden is a shambles and the food is a disaster zone. Friendly staff but when one pint came out that was clearly the dregs of the barrel, the girl serving apologised saying that she didn’t know anything about beer..... the youth.... unfortunately the chef clearly knew very little about cooking... but he could clearly pack away the cigarettes as spent a fair chunk of time smoking in the garden... no doubt while the microwave was doing the work in the kitchen... NO

We came across this bar when wandering through Hythe. We had a lovely Sunday roast the pork belly was scrummy and our friends thought the roast beef was too. I’d say one of the best roast dinners I’ve had out. Pudding was a chocolate bombe with Hendricks homemade chocolate- very indulgent. Staff efficient and friendly. The only thing lacking was that the garden area and furniture was in need of TLC

The whole restaurant was booked for a private lunch party. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch delivered as we requested. Staff responded brilliantly to our requests and created a very happy atmosphere. 35 guests were provided with excellent food by Nick (the French chef) compliments were copious; everyone was happy. Henry was great at ensuring the team was providing attentive service. The whole event was good value. Well done to all at Hendricks

Massive thank you again to all, came in late as usual after kitchen closing and they were happy to fire up the ovens again, they are always so accommodating and friendly. Ended up staying for a few drinks afterwards and had a thoroughly good evening. Where better to eat!

We came across this restaurant whilst searching for somewhere to have Sunday lunch in Hythe. The Waitress was very charming and friendly and we ordered our food. When it came it was such a disappointment. The food was cold, the plates were cold, the carrots and parsnip were so undercooked they were really hard to cut and almost raw, the meat was so rare it was 'bloody' and tough, and the gravy was cold. However, the cabbage was perfectly cooked. Sadly, we are unlikely to eat at this restaurant again.

Have had a few meals here, but the best memory was our recent anniversary.

Myself and 3 friends visited here on a Thursday night. We were welcomed by friendly and warm staff and had a few drinks at the bar before sitting down to eat. The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection and accompanied by excellent wine recommended to us.

This is the fifth time I have eaten at this establishment in as many weeks and every time has surpassed the time before.

Have been in here a few times and the food has always been fantastic. The atmosphere has always been brilliant and I have always felt comfortable. The garden is a great space that will be really welcoming for people in the summer too. Look forward to coming here again

Great Restaurant in the lovely historic high street in Hythe, The food is truly wonderful they have a french chef and a chocolatier owner which really makes this a wonderful place, The sunday roast is fantastic and we can highly recommend the desserts made by the owner they are special. The atmosphere is really good so also a good place for a glass of wine.

For a bar and restaurant still finding its feet they have done very well, the atmosphere was lively and friendly with other customers and staff are great too. The halloumi was wonderful, and I was catered to caringly as well. A lovely place to relax and enjoy with friends.

I’ve given serious thought before putting pen to paper and after deliberation and talking to the numerous guests at my 75th Birthday celebration have decided to pen a review.

Our family group of 8 people chanced upon this place whilst having a day out in Hythe. There were spare tables and we were easily accommodated. The service was excellent and between us we had several different dishes which were really enjoyable. The pudding menu of just 2 items seemed a little disappointing at first - but we didn't realise that they serve their own chocolate and their "choc ice" was an absolutely amazing concoction. Our experience ensured we had a marvellous day out!!

Exemplary roast beef with superior trimmings, and my partner’s wonderful roast cod and ratatouille both made for a first class Easter lunch. Excellent puddings too and good value wine. Equal first of Hythe’s best.

We arrived at 730pm ordered drinks and ordered our meals at 750 pm. A number had starters which arrived in about 20 minutes. After ordering more drinks, which seemed to take forever to come, our main course arrived at 930pm. This, only after a protest by members of the party. The steak, on arrival, was just warm and likewise the chips and other parts of the meal. Various sauces should have come with the steaks, but only after asking, and arrived when most of the party were well into their meal. What should have been a celebration was turned into a farce with the partner of the celebrant was in tears.

Absolutely love this place, they are always so friendly and welcoming and the food is amazing. I have been here several times for a glass of wine or two with friends but even on your own it has a great atmosphere and the people are easy to talk to and very friendly. The other day I went in for some food and had the most amazing cauliflower steak which for me being the vegetarian option was A one off and I really hope wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out. I have to say they really have excelled themselves with this item on the menu, It really was delicious, even down to the chips being handcuffed and home-made.

Popped in when passing. Lovely welcome. Had the most amazing steak and Stilton baguette. We had our steak medium rare-it was cooked perfectly. There was just the right amount of Stilton, so not too over powering.

We thought we would try Hendricks@152 as it's new and we like to support local businesses. We were delighted. The staff treated us like friends and the food was just the best. They specialise in quality steaks but there is enough on the menu to suit most palates.

We popped in this evening for a couple of drinks with friends. The welcome from Angelika and Tamsin was so warm and friendly, we ended up staying longer than planned. Whilst there, we perused the menu (which looks amazing!) and we’ve booked a table for dinner there soon. Can’t wait to try the food as we’ve heard the steaks are out of this world!

Unbelievable service and food here, honestly the best meal out we’ve had that we can remember (and we eat out a lot), steak was cooked perfectly. We were made to feel fully welcome, chatted to the staff and owner who were absolutely lovely and even had some complementary wine along with the test that we paid for. 10/10 in every way. Cannot recommend this place enough.
