Popped in for lunch today and had a lovely quiche, feta, fig and pepper. So tasty and the pastry was superb. My husband had the ham and mushroom. It came with crisps and a delightful salad and slaw. Great tasting cappuccino and latte as well. Very friendly staff and a real great find.

Came here for lunch with my husband and it was really lovely. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious with locally sourced ingredients. There’s a nice shop to buy food from as well as the cafe area. A really enjoyable visit and we will be back.

While having a stroll in the attractive village of Helperby we came across this lovely place that combines village shop, delicatessen and cafe. The tearoom is a pleasant and well decorated room and I believe that they do a good selection of cooked meals. We only wanted tea, coffee and cake however, and all were very good. Service was excellent and two incidents are worth a mention. First of all, having ordered a piece of fruit cake, the lady who I assume owns the business came through and asked if we would like a wedge of Wensleydale cheese with it - well, we are in Yorkshire! Secondly, when we were leaving, the young girl who had served us bade us a nice farewell; then followed that up with a lovely “thank you for coming”. What a charming gesture.

We stopped here on our way up to Edinburgh. We both had the Yorkshire breakfast. It was delicious! Fresh ingredients served nice and hot with crunchy granary toast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the service was efficient. Also it is very clean and spacious so plenty of room for pushchairs/wheelchairs. Great cappuccinos and the cafe is dog friendly. All round winner!

Under new management in past month: now it's Keith & his Thai wife, whose name wasn't given. Good coffee and both friendly & welcoming. Have not been here before so cannot provide 'then & now' comparison, but think it's certainly worth a visit.

Went for a Sunday lunch and ended up having 3 courses. (I skipped breakfast). I like arancini and so went for them - must say best I've eaten! Had beef for Sunday lunch, which came with loads of veg. The cauli cheese wasn't as I would make at home, but it knockes the block off those you find at carveries up and down the country. Baked and cooked to perfection. The pureed carrot was lovely, as was the parsnip and mash. Beef was good, but mine had a run of inedible connective tissue on the edge. Gravey is divine, and I finished with a lovely sticky toffee pudding on a lake of toffee sauce - my fav. And again, lovely. A special shout out to the camp male server who was fan-tas-tic darling! Very confident , helpfull and hard-working individual - an asset to the establishment. These were the great points, and for me and my guests, I'd like to feed back some constructive improvements. The main, on the whole, was great, but for me, I thought the roasted potatoes were a bit bland and dry. There is a massive yorkshire pudding served, which, again, was a bit dry/stale and bland. That was the only real negatives with the food, although the wife said she wasn't overly keen of the beatroot dish. Here is a couple of suggestions from the females in our group - could do with a hook on the back of the toilet door to hang handbags on and, to improve the atmosphere, maybe a few flowers on the tables? Will we visit again? Certainly, when next time in the area.
