My companion and I couldn't wait to come to Hellend's Kitchen again after our successful visits previously. But, sadly, this time it was a bit disappointing for me. My companion, however, said his Special Breakfast was very nice, but I have to say that my choice of Chicken & Mushroom Pie with chips was not very nice at all. The chicken was rubbery and chewy, the chips looked as if they had been fried in a frying pan instead of a deep fat chip pan. Very strange chips! The carrots and peas were cold, but the chicken pie was so hot it burnt my tongue! You can't win! The prices are very cheap, though, so that's a saving grace!

As the kitchen was open plan they should make sure it’s clean and free of rubbish. The chef had no hat on. As they where putting the plates on our table the chef nearly dropped it on the floor. I’ve never seen people sitting down whilst been behind a serving area before. I would like to see some more breakfast options, maybe some more vegetarian and vegan options maybe some salads ?

We were so impressed the first time we came here, when Hellend's Kitchen first opened, that we couldn't wait to make a return visit for lunch. This time my companion chose the chicken and mushroom pie with ships and vegetables. I originally wanted the veggie burger, but as this was sold out, I plumped for the veggie sausage burger with chips and salad. Everything was just right, so tasty and well-presented. The flat white coffees were splendid, too! Today the cafe was quite busy and nearly all the tables were taken. Not surprising as this cafe serves very good food, beautifully cooked and at budget prices. How do they do it? Staff are friendly, masked and efficient. Highly recommended.

We just had to come here after reading about the lovely couple who set up this cafe! We love the clean lines, the fresh decor, all part of the newly-opened Princess Theatre. My companion chose an all-day breakfast for £5 (how do they do it?), and I had quiche with salad and cole slaw plus a bowl of chips (as I'm very greedy). It was all perfectly cooked, and the coffee was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Yes, we were very pleased with the Hellend Kitchen Cafe & Bar. Loved it! Highly recommended!!

Their special breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. My only very minor complaint is that the bacon was slightly over cooked for my taste, but other people I am sure would disagree.

We went for a Xmas Party and had a 3 course carvery meal and entertainment with the Pashy Pops. Food was 5 star delicious. Staff first rate , very friendly. Evening was spoilt by the Pashy Pops who shouted out the music all night. They can sing but need to learn how to use their musical equipment. We had to move away as couldn't bear the blast of noise that came from the stage. Simply awful.
