The globe is a great example of how a British pub should be . Friendly locals and real people . The low beams in the main bar and real open fire just set the scene the second you walk in . Great choice of beers spirt and cider and probably the best pint of Guinness you can get outside of Ireland . The globe is a great example of how a pub should be and is a very important part of the local community.

Great place to go!! Just watch your head as its an oldy world pub with low ceiling beams!! I'm 6 foot 2, and this never discourages me!! Excellent value on prices, and I'd highly recommend a visit! You would feel welcome with locals and staff alike, excellent place!

Having worked in pubs since the dawn of time, this little gem is essentially a mirror of a place with multiple angles. It really depends of what time of day you go and what frame of mind you are in. It can be the quintessential village pub, to a locals hub, to a place to hide away from the missus to a mini mad party atmosphere. It’s really up to you. The new landlord are proper salt of the earth and give the place a welcoming northern touch. The mid-day locals may be from the land that time forgot, but if you make the effort, they are welcoming, polite and damn right hilarious. This type of pub is a dying bread! Rare indeed. Catch a glimpse if you want the genuine article of what makes a British Pub.

The front room is a cracking little bar with a proper fire. Food is perfectly okay. Beer likewise with good options. Downside is the back room which is less welcoming and a general air of not being quite on top of its game. Needs a pick up but still the second best (to the Rose & Crown) “old school” pub in Cannington

Lovely genuine local village pub. Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved. Good and simple collection of lagers, beers, ales and of course cider's. Friendly bar staff and welcoming owners. Very low ceilings, but to be expected due to it being a proper old style pub. Skittle lane, pool table, dart board and Sky Sports/BT Sports available. Happy to put on any game as requested. Good size beer garden, long and narrow. Pretty much south facing so wonderful in the summer months. Like I say, if you want a taste of Somerset country pubs, you won't go far wrong.

Just taking a walk around Cannington, what a lovely village and we decided for pop in for a drinkie. The landlady was lovely and very welcoming and we had an amusing chat with one of the locals. We must not forget Kaiser a beautiful two year old that you just want to hug and stroke. We will certainly visit again just for the friendliness - lovely people.

Me and my boyfriend came here on our way home from a weekend away. We were hungry and no local pubs were open bar this one. We asked if they were serving food and they told us that they weren't because they were undergoing refurbishment, but would Russel us up something. They made me a burger and chips and my boyfriend had sausage and chips. They were very kind, as they had limited kitchen items ect while the refurbishment was taking place, but they made us feel very welcome and as if nothing was a problem. Food was lovely too. Thank you very much, and we hope to visit you again soon

Lovely pub with old beamed ceilings in the bar area. Under new management and undergoing refurbishments. Large area to the rear with a pool table, smoking area outside and a large garden. Joined the darts and skittles teams way back in the 1980's and had many fun evenings here winning many trophies for the pub.

Visited with family for Sunday lunch and was really impressed. The food was lovely - a really comforting home cooked roast, huge portions and a total bargain as it included a sweet. The staff were so friendly - really accommodating with my 18 month old and the place itself had a very warm atmosphere. A great garden for children too and a gorgeous dog! We will definitely be back!

We arrived in Cannington, mid afternoon looking for somewhere to get a snack. I saw the church and thought there has to be a pub nearby! There was! The Globe, it looked interesting from the outside and inside we received a warm welcome. Getting a sandwich, 'out of hours' was no problem and the landlady couldn't have been more helpful! A real pub!

My friends and I are students at the college campus here and booked an Xmas lunch on our last day of term, we were not disappointed! A massive home style lunch with all the trimmings which was great value for money -one lad commented his mother-in-law could take a few tips away!!! We have also sampled the Friday fish and chips which is wonderful too!

We called in here for a meal on a Monday lunchtime after visiting the walled gardens. The place was a typical "local" with a few regulars sitting at the bar who were real Somerset characters. We were not sure what to do as there was nobody behind the bar, so one of these characters passed us a menu and said the landlady was in the kitchen- all very friendly and helpful. We ordered scampi and a chicken dinner, which was on special offer as it was the leftovers form Sunday lunch. We then went out into the spacious garden at the rear and was followed by a lovely Golden Retriever that just wanted attention! Our meals came within 10 minutes and were very good (although a large chunk of bone was found in the chicken which shows it was a real roast!) and very big- we could not finish them. The sun was warm, the garden peaceful (only people in), the landlady hospitable and the price was right. A lovely little pub tucked away in a quiet cul -de -sac near the walled gardens.

Went with my husband and daughter, on more than one occasion to this little café A true Gem, staff are always very helpful and cheerful, The cakes are amazing, I have tried to resist but find them too tempting, and unlike some cakes that look lovely but taste is disappointing, these are gorgeous in looks and taste, last time myself and daughter tried the courgette and lime, while my husband had coffee and walnut, both were very tasty, along with an unusual but delicious Mumbai chai, highly recommended. All in all a very nice eating experience with the backdrop of surrounding woodland, and stream that runs past.

We don’t live far from BOS so decided to drive down for a couple of hours. It was a very cold day so decided just to have some lunch then head home :-))) We noticed this little cafe and decided to pop in, there was a table right next to the window/door so we went to the back of the restaurant for some warmth, sadly the staff kept leaving the door at the back open even when my husband kept going and closing it. But apart from that hiccup the food was very nice, and I would return but when the weathers warmer :-))))

Started well, went down hill not because of food but treatment by very aggressive, intimidating landlord ! We had booked, on entering pub went to bar to buy drinksWe were greeted by a very nice lady behind bar,she asked if we would mind eating in the adjacent room as they were busy. She said she would come and get our order for food and drinks. We walked through corridor full of junk and toilet rolls into other room. This room used to be a nice dining room but now houses tv inside fireplace, numerous notices on walls and a lift that looks like a shower in corner.I imagine this room was not normally used.We did not mind sitting in there, looking forward to food.Lady came and took our orders and brought drinks .We were quite happy and were bemused when landlord entered and seemed quite unhappy that he had to serve us. He demanded to know if we were really hungry and wanted starters ,saying aggressively, most people don't as they would not eat mains. We assured him that yes we did want them.He then said nastily that if that was the case it would take an hour and half for food.We said politely that we did not mind waiting. He then said condiments were in the bar. At this point we were sort of amused by him being so rude ,likening him to Basil Faulty. Absolutely bizarre ! Starters actually came in 30mins ,everything fine.He delivered food, ribeye steaks 20 mins later. All cooked to perfection ,one of our party asked where in the bar the condiments were He replied aggressively again,"they are in the bar where I told you 20 minutes ago !! .OBVIOUSLY it does not register with SOME people !!! " The lady came and asked us if everything was OK and asked if we wanted drinks. We said yes and even complimented her on how nice steaks were. We asked him shall we pay in bar and he said aggressively again "Yes and most NORMAL people order drinks at the bar "He then left the pub. This to me was the last straw ! Up till then we just laughed it off .We are NORMAL people who actually live just down the road ! We were asked to NOT order at the bar but what is his problem besides being a rude, nasty bully.None of this was an attempt at humour. I have NEVER encountered behavior like it,let alone by someone who is suppose to be serving you and taking nearly £90 of your money. I have been told since by locals that he is like this ! I feel sorry for the lovely lady working there. Needless to say we will not be back
