Reasonable prices good service and a lovely beer garden. Food service stops at 7pm. Would be nice if it was 8pm.

A large family of 16 away for a few days, came across to Sheerness for the day and stumbled upon this pub. What a beauty! We sat in the garden, kids could play, drinks and food were cheap, staff so helpful and friendly and the food was outstanding. Staff couldn't do enough for us, the service and friendliness, even of the other people using the pub was humbling. There was so much to choose from on the menu, everyone had full bellys when they left. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely come back. Xxx

Great boozer hidden away down the back streets. Definitely worth looking for. Friendly and chatty bar staff and good prices too. We didn't eat but the locals were tucking into theirs and it looked and smelt nice. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and there's even a pub cat. Absolutely worth a visit. *edited* the cat made itself at home in my wife's coat so we felt duly obliged to stay for more drinks.

Phenomenal place. Good quality food with enough options for everyone and thoughtful presentation. Atmosphere wise, they seem to have something for everyone to enjoy; may it be music, view, services... Just scan the place with your eyes and you would understand what i mean by it!

My mother in law took my wife, my wife's dad and me out for an early supper at The Heights of Alma, which is a pub I haven’t been in for 30 years, (I live in the Highlands). This pub is very deceptive in relation to its size, it’s a Tardis, its small on the outside but large inside, with a large beer garden too! Supper was an utter delight; it really was a very nice granny treat. Granny had a chicken burger, grandad had the lamb shank, my wife had a cheese burger and I had a full rack of ribs. Jeepers mine was really hot and tasty and I was clarted with bbq sauce after I had finished it, what a porker, I was stuffed. Everyone enjoyed their food too, the staff were all great and I guess we’ll be back the next time we’re visiting, maybe it will be my turn to treat granny!

What a find this little gem is! Thanks to a recommendation on social media two weeks ago my mum and I thought we would give it a go, and we were not disappointed! We have returned twice more in the last week. Beautiful well maintained gardens with a small climbing frame and slide for the children. Plenty of seating outside and the food is absolutely wonderful! Fresh, tasty and the prices are more than reasonable! Lots of love music and the staff are extremely friendly too. It’s a free house so makes a lovely change from the normal chains that seem to be everywhere these days. You will not be disappointed if you give this lovely pub a try!

This gem of a pub, in the heart of Sheerness, has been our local for the last 7 months. We have fallen absolutely in love with everything about the pub. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The food is great and the chefs are very accommodating. They even have a gluten free menu. The beer garden is perfect for a family lunch and the best of all is they are pet friendly. There is always a fresh bowl of water for your dog to drink. Our lab Harry loves that he can go with us when we pop in for a cold beer. I highly recommend you pop in and see what it is all about.

By a country mile the best place on the island for drinks, food, music and socialising. Don’t get to go as regular as we would like but every time we have been it’s been fantastic. The food is well presented and delicious. The kids love the play area especially the wiggly slide. Always greeted by the friendly locals and staff. A fantastic place to go. Can’t recommend enough. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ isn’t enough.

This pub is one of a kind - a proper old school pub with a modern twist. Drinks and food are a very good price but at a high standard, they had a great band in the garden where me and the lads all danced (probably embarrassing) and the service was tip top. I'll be back again and again and again.

I’ve been coming to the heights for many years, and it is easily the best pub on the island. The staff are always friendly, and serve with a smile. The prices of both the drinks and food are very reasonable, with a wide selection on offer. Could not recommend this place enough to anybody looking for a bite to eat or just a quick drink.

A hidden gem , great place very friendly staff. We went there with our two grandchildren and had a good and reasonably priced lunch. Sat outside on a sunny August day, the staff were very quick to serve us. I had a pint of beer and my wife had a milkshake the grandchildren had J2Os. The children had a sharing platter I had the ploughmans and my wife had the baby back ribs. The meal came up hot and very well presented. A credit to the Hights of Ama / shack at the back.

Absolutely fantastic establishment, great atmosphere, family friendly, excellent staff service, garden is perfectly kept with plenty of room and seating. The food from the shack is delicious and great prices! Highly recommended for anyone.

Stopped by for lunch based on the reviews and rating. I have two terriers who were welcomed by the staff. Had a pint of Doombar - one of the best I’ve had on draught, and a delicious Chicken Ceasar Salad which the terriers helped polish off. They gave it 5 stars too!

The Heights of Alma is tucked away a one minute walk from award winning blue flag beaches. A welcoming children and dog friendly pub where the bar staff go out of the way to make you feel part of the community. When we went there was live music in the fantastic beer garden and the food from the Shack at the Back was not only tasty but great value for money.. my kids said the burgers were the best they ever had and my ploughman's board was excellent! Overall this is somewhere I will definitely come again .. 5/5

Once again had an excellent meal and dessert at the Heights of Alma. The bar staff are always friendly and it always has a great atmosphere. Can't think of a better place to go, weather with friends or with your family.

Beautiful hidden gem tucked away 5 mins from the coast (probably not hidden if your local) beautifully presented beer garden, food and service was outstanding and price is excellent, 100% recommended if your in town

Only had a quick drink, but this was very well served by the very polite girl behind the bar Food menu was tempting, but had just eaten - next time... Garden looked impressive, but was happy indoors getting the cool breeze sat by the door

Great little pub for lunch with friends. We sat in the lovely garden, which was clean and beautifully kept. A great choice on the menu and a large GF menu too. The sun was shining when we visited so it was lovely to sit outside. The staff were friendly and the service was great. Only slight issue was the music, which was a little too loud and not to our taste. It is a jukebox, so you can choose which music you'd like, but obviously at a cost. We feel that it's a little hidden gem and not what you'd expect from a back street pub. We will definitely return 👍

We came today for the first time for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised ☺️ the beer garden is beautiful and pet friendly so we were able to bring our dog along with us….very attentive staff, Food all cooked fresh in The Shack with a huge amount of choice for kids and adults…especially for my husband who is Gluten Free, your GF menu has so many choices. Cannot wait to come back again and hopefully this sunny whether is to last ☀️👌🏻

Fantastic family and dog friendly pub where the bar staff treat you like family! Especially the lovely Rae! The food is outstanding with daily specials and all the food is locally sourced and possibly the best burger on the island... a local pub where every customer is treated as such even if its your first visit

My wife and I visited the Heights of Alma today as it had a beer garden. It is a pleasant pub with a nice garden, which appears to cater for families with children. We decided to eat there as well and had a lovely meal. The staff were friendly and the food was very good. Recommended.

This is a hidden gem on the island, i can't believe I've not been before, it was my first time visiting today, we sat outside to eat, it's absolutely beautiful out there in the sun, staff were so friendly and checked if we were happy etc, very helpful too. The food was really good priced and the presentation was just rediculously spot on, looked and tasted like it should have cost more, food was fresh and the chilli con carne was actually the best I've ever had, I couldn't fault a single thing about it! And i am so fussy usually lol! Basically spent the whole time I was there just telling my mate how much I was enjoying the food, lol, I was so stuffed but ate every bit coz it just tasted so lovely. Gonna make this my regular place to eat from now on, coz of the price and quality of the food, and beautiful outdoor seating, compared to other places I usually go, this is top choice for me now. There's a wide range of choice on the menu, I'm really looking forward to going back with the kids and trying the different dishes out! And I am looking forward to coming back with friends at the weekend to try some of the cocktails out!

As a long back from when I was about 12 years old I had going to the pub, not drinking at the time but going to play pool drinking coca with my friends to with this day I still do. It has change hands a few times over the years and it's been the best years so far still a wonderful place to bring kids in the day time with a very nice garden even better in the summer times with BBQ'S. For the evenings good local crowds and many good live bands and events which I would say to check on the Facebook page to keep an eye on the gigs. As a wheelchair user for the last few years now have found many old pub don't have Great access the same with the heights but don't let that put you off as the people are always willing to help and make you feel very welcome.
