Came here for lunch and it was nice and warm on a cold day. The decor was nice and it had a good atmosphere. I felt that the price for sandwiches was fine and they were tasty too. Really enjoyed it. It wasn't too busy and service was good.

Went there last evening with my wife while on a night out with my wife. The George Inn was abuzz with patrons young and old- most just enjyoing the drinks and snacks from the many pubs while others glued to the seats enjoying a Shakespeare play. We chose to skip the crowded pubs and went to Heeltap which is slightly inside and right next to the stage. The bartender seemed to be new as he wasnt sure if the deal advertised on the blackboard- classic burger and a beer/wine was still on or not. He came back and confirmed that the deal was on although wasn't sure if it was only with beer or wine. After making him read the board, we ordered the meal for me and a vegetarian burger with lemonade for my wife. My wife wasn't very happy with the burger while the lemonade started went flat within minutes and was more like sugar water. While the classic burger and chips were the real stars. Perhaps the best burgers I've had in a long time. Even better than the fancy schmacy burger chains that have sprung up everywhere. They do indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside as having a meal with Shakespeare playing next to you( for free) isn''t an experience you can have just about anywhere. Might go there again, definitely for the burger.

You should go and check the good wine selection of the Heeltap. We only went for a quick lunch but liked the place. I suppose this restaurant is more popular in the evenings because the borough market nearby seemed crowded at lunchtime.

Went to Heeltap to watch a football game after work as my friend works around London Bridge, and was pleasantly surprised. I've been to a lot of the bars around the area and had never heard of this place, so would recommend it as a bit of a hidden gem. When I say hidden, I mean hidden. Entrance is down White Hart Yard, which you wouldn't ordinarily go down unless you know it's there. It was pretty empty for the duration - but the bar itself is nice. Very modern and clean, with nice wooden tables and sofas. The bar area is big, and you can go out into a courtyard with wooden flooring, and with other older historic pubs in London Bridge less than 10 seconds away. I ordered food - and had a 'Mushroom and quinoa burger with halloumi' for £10.25 which I thought was fairly standard for central London. It fell apart a bit, but was quite nice. No complaints. Food came v quickly too. Nicely presented.. everything clean. Staff were extremely friendly. Very chatty and relaxed, treating me like a normal person instead of just a customer. I didn't fancy alcohol and asked for a recommendation for something other than standard coke or lemonade, and the woman behind the bar came up with a great suggestion of ginger beer with lime and ice. Very happy with that. Made a nice change to have something different. The bar had TVs all over to watch the football, and had a nice relaxed ambiance- though a few things stopped it being 5*. TVs were a bit small, my burger fell apart [first world problems, I know], and there weren't masses of vegetarian options ... but most of all and it was a dead inside. Hardly anyone in there, which was fine for me at the time, but if I was watching some big game, I'd want a bit more liveliness. Generally recommend as a nice place though

The bar staff are very friendly and welcoming. It can get really busy in there, so if you are with a large party, call ahead and you can easily book a section. The Heeltap serves great food and the menu offers a good selection. Great outdoor space which is ideal, when the sun is shining. It’s not only the serving of beer and food that is exemplary, I managed to lose my wallet at the venue without realising, the Manager and his staff managed to contact a family member and get them to give me a call to go back and collect. I cannot thank them enough. Priceless!

We've been here for after work drinks a number of times. The courtyard outside is great in summer but inside is crowded and has nothing about it. The staff are friendly but with such a great selection of pubs and bars in this area - this is my last choice.

The heel tap is not somewhere you'd go date night (and least not when sport Is on), however for watching a game with some good pub grub it is spot on. I had the veggie burger which was decent although the portion of chips was a bit stingy! Fairly priced food and typical London beer prices. If you want a table during a big game, best to always book!

I like this place, sure some of the bar staff don't know what customer service is and despite being a loyal customer management will throw u under the bus soon as there's some footy on but when my backs been up against the wall they've been there for me. It's the nuances, atmosphere and candour I appreciate. Been comin here once a week for 6 months and expect that to continue on for as long as they'll have me. Food in my opinion is great beer is standard and banter is banging. F¥€% the George long live the heel.

I went here after a colleague suggested it to watch sport, I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed a familiar menu, so I went straight for The Rare Hot Burger as I had in the Salt Bar in Liverpool Street! Atmosphere was great it was rather busy for the game we went to see. Service was good although a little unfriendly, but this was probably because it was busy. I would recommend this for a sports venue in and around London Bridge!

My girlfriend and I visited on Saturday 30th April to enjoy a drink in the sun before heading home. When I walked inside 2 waitress just staring at me, waiting for the other to serve me before one wonder off. I order 1 x cider and 1 x sparkling water, with the waitress huffing and buffing like I order 2 highly complex cocktails.Such poor professionalism, it may explain why it was dead inside and out whilst the George Inn in the shade was packed

Went to Heeltap for a friend's birthday, bar staff were friendly and we were having a great time. Spent a lot of money as we were a big group of people and had both food and drinks, until the bar manager stormed over to us and accused us of paying with a fake £5 note. First of all his staff had accepted it and there was no proof that it had come from us, and yet we were happy to replace the note with another one, but the attitude of the manager was rude, disrespectful and i will never step foot in the establishment again and discourage anyone else from doing so. Speaking to customers the way this bar manager did was appalling and accusatory and then he went back to drinking at the bar with his friends?! Unprofessional, rude and disgusting behaviour which was unacceptable and unnecessary especially after the amount of custom we bought to the bar that evening.

I have been to the Heeltap *coughs* a few times: out with the girls, out with work colleagues, popping in for a quick one on the way passed. The atmosphere can be hit or miss, as it can be anywhere, but overall, I love it here. Last weekend, had the steak burger - which was fantastic!! I have food allergies, which can be really difficult eating out, and the kitchen was brilliant. Afterwards we had lots of cocktails and ended up staying there the whole afternoon and evening, despite having plans to move on! The service was a little slow when it got busy, but the staff were lovely, they were just very busy.

We spent a few hours here during our cousins catch up on London, and thoroughly enjoyed it.The cocktails were lovely, very reasonably priced, and interesting, such as 'Apple Pie' (which really did taste like Apple Pie), and gorgeous Expresso Martini's.The atmosphere was really comfortable which is why we're stayed for so long (the food looked amazing, although we had already eaten so didn't try any), they had the football on the TV but if you weren't interested then it was at a perfect volume not to bother you, and they even have a dart board! The outside courtyard area was large and very nice as well. Will definitely return here.

Wasn't my choice of venue but as I wasn't buying I wasn't going to kick up a fuss. The bar and restuarant areas are nothing special, nor was the food. We all went for the burgers which were alright and came with the almost obligatory mug of chips you get these days. The bar bill did seem a bit hefty even for this area so I wouldn't come here for a heavy drinking session. The waitress was a bit moody, almost slamming the plates down in front of us, not a particularly cheery sole.

Went with a large group (about 12 of us) on a Tuesday night. Service was friendly and as the bar was not too busy, service was prompt - we ended up here because the George opposite was too busy. Our disappointment came from the food side, firstly they couldn't accommodate our first choices on the menu and the other options were limited, it was only around 8:30pm. We did manage to get a cheese burger and the steak sandwich. The menu had a heading above both items which said that they came with chips, but when it arrived the steak sandwich apparently did not come with them. A misleading menu. The steak sandwich was tough, and the medium burger was well done and tasted very charcoally. A very disappointing affair for burgers in a bar/pub that cost over a tenner! So stick to the wine and beers and avoid the food.

Came in here to watch the rugby. The first barman to serve us was clearly bored, unfriendly with a bad smell under his nose. We had a reasonably tasty but somewhat overpriced meal. The house Red has to be the worst house red I have ever tasted and not remotely worth the hefty price of £7 a glass. When I advised a fellow customer to avoid the house Red the barman stated "the house red is not very good"

Been here for a couple of times with work colleagues for a drink and bite. It is a trendy bar with nice decor. However the drinks are way over priced likewise with the food. However their steak burger which is a small portion size is one of the best I have tasted.

Came in to watch the football and left disappointed. The service was average, so no complaint there really. The beer was in need of a clean, definitely overdue. The food was priced at high quality food, yet delivered low quality. Microwaved sausages, over cooked so going hard around the edges. Triple cooked chips?? Definitely not as you watch the chef pull a blue freezer bag out and dump them straight into the fryer. To finish it off...and over cooked scotch egg.The venue itself is lovely. So if you go for no food and a bottled beer, then you'll love it!

Came here for some after work drinks, we'd reserved an area and I found the night very enjoyable. The service was great, bar staff were very friendly, I didn't try the food and it was a little more expensive than I'd hoped but some of our group did have food and loved it. The bar had a great atmosphere and despite it being a Friday night it never seemed so busy that it detracted from the evening which can be the case in a lot of places around London. The selection of wines is vast and looks great however I'm a cider man not a wine drinker so I didn't have a Great deal of choice but I still had a great night. I'll definitely come back to what is a nice, stylish and pleasant bar.

About 90 of us used the Heeltap for our office Christmas Party. We had a great time! The food and service were excellent. As was the drink. Sam and the team did everything they could to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. The organisation was top notch, we never had to wait for drinks and the delicious food just kept coming. They worked so hard to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. I couldn't have asked more for the money we spent. I have had nothing but good feedback from my colleagues since. Would definitely recommend to anyone holding a party. I will probably visit again soon as this was a higher level of service than I've received anywhere else in the London Bridge area.

A party of between 50-60 of us attended the Heeltap on Saturday and I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and service that they provided to us all, which made it a fantastic day and night. The place is spotlessly clean and Sam and his team were totally amazing keeping the bar running smoothly and making sure that everyone was well looked after. I popped in for a quick drink and a nibble at lunchtime - a little while after I got there, a large party entered and I could see the far side of the room was reserved. My table was not, but a young man came and asked if I would move because the party had booked my table. When I pointed out my table had no sign on it, he said he was sorry - they forgot to put it on. I didn't want to move, and the rest of the room was crowded (the party being in the main bar NOT their reserved area, which was totally empty...). I huffed a bit but said I would move - he offered to refund my wine, or get me another glass. I said I would sit outside, and await my glass. After 10 minutes (when I was due back at work, and by which time the party had taken over everywhere else, I got up to leave - the waiter came out with my wine. I told him to forget it - bearly an apology, no offer of any other restitution - and STILL no-one was using my original table! A shambles.

Popular after-work spot just off Borough High Street. I find it overpopulated with those who like to see and be seen. The large courtyard with lots of picnic-table style seating is the main plus. I agree that the food is a it above average for a bar.For actually hanging out with friends and enjoying a few drinks, I find it too noisy, too crowded and a bit too full of itself. There are other more enjoyable spots nearby.

I recently hired the Heeltap pub for my 30th birthday party and I can't imagine having had a better venue. It was 30 degrees and all my guests were very pleased to have the option of the air conditioned pub or the sunny outdoor space with umbrellas. The pub put on a BBQ and the food was fantastic, including beautifully cooked steak burgers and tender pulled pork baps. Everyone was very happy with the food. The staff were all great and couldn't have done more to help make it wonderful especially the manager. I would highly recommend the heeltap as a venue to hire as a party, it worked out very reasonable to hire and put on a BBQ compared to many other places I looked into in London. Will definitely be going back for a drink when I am next in the area!

Never been here before. Went for Xmas lunch last week, thought that with £24 for a two course Xmas meal that it would be at least reasonable or even pretty good. The starter was tiny and eating a hiking boot would probably have been more tender than the chargrilled turkey breast main course... which was accompanied by a microbowl of soggy lukewarm veg which were intended for a table of 10, leaving roughly a spoonful each, so ideal for those on a restricted diet. I spent a significant amount of time digging stringy turkey from between my teeth. This place is completely typical of a large number of other cloned bar/restaurants in London - nothing exceptional, very overpriced and basically up itself . The décor was what you might find in the head office of some soulless corporation - (possibly one that would sell dental floss)... spotlights, pastel shades and squeaky-clean anal-retentive angularity, which is perfect for the sharp suits who drink there, presumably under the impression that they are getting a good deal. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful and the toilets were immaculate and near the entrance, which makes it all the easier to pop in and use them on the way to somewhere else far more interesting without having to give the bar staff some spurious pretext of buying an overpriced glass of sparkling European Uberp*ss. There are good value for money pubs and bars in the area if you know where to look, this definitely ain't one of them.

We are usually on the lookout for places to have a pre- theatre drink and snack . The Heeltap wine bar proved a pleasant surprise, It is in a new building located in a secluded yard not far from the Menier Chocolate Factory theatre. Unusually, our cocktails were both available and well made. Many venues including wine bars seem, in my experience, unaware of cocktails let alone how to make them. For a wine bar we found this commendable. Wine with our snack was of course good and the shared platter...

I ordered a vintage Tawny port and was surprised to see it served fridge cold. There was condensation on the glass.I’ve drunk in the Heeltap for sometime and have tried the ports on the menu – I do not recall ever having one chilled. When I queried the choice of chilling the tawny port, the cocky young manager asked me if my Gazpacho soup was too cold for me as well. To be fair they offered to change the drink, but I kept it. The chilling killed the drink. There is a lovely taste of raisins you get in a vintage port like that and it was ruined as I explained to our manager friend. I realise that it's become fashionable to chill ports like this, but there's no need for the arrogance.
