I visited over the war weekend, very friendly staff. good value. would recommend stopping for refreshment. I got a much better reception here than I did at the public house in Grosmont.

Called today while visiting beautiful Grosmont, scone was old and dry, treacle tart did not taste anything like treacle and my brother took back his date and walnut loaf complaining it was very dry and the proprietor put his hand on the cake saying it felt moist to him. Obviously he wasn't about eat it after that Needless to say we won't be coming back to Hazelwood coffee shop again

Stopped by on a train trip, we didn’t consult trip advisor first, sadly. Nice location but food was bland. Lentil soup was tasteless, toasties were ok. There looked like some better choices in the area.

Called in for some refreshment after an exhilarating ride on the local steam train. A lovely place and gardens with seating outside and in with a good choice of home made cakes, buns, sandwiches ect. But when I came to pay which was quite a lot (For 3 people) the answer l got was "Sorry, it's cash only". Couldn't believe it, a thriving little gold mine establishment like this in 2019 that doesn't accept credit cards. Must be because it's in deep Yorkshire for some reason. So I had the embarrassment of having to ask my wife for some cash. If we weren't so tired and hungry, l would have walked out and found another eating place, and Hazelwood would have lost out on the trade. (Had to queue a long time on bad legs as well). At least the food was excellent, but next time we visit, we will probably eat elsewhere. (SOMEWHERE THAT TAKES CREDIT CARDS)

Myself and my partner love it here!! We always sit outside and are always made to feel extremely welcome by staff and the owners!! Garden setting is beautiful and dogs are welcome. Food is reasonably priced and tasty. Please visit if in the area!! Support local businesses who are working hard to provide a positive customer experience

We caught the NYMR steam locomotive from Whitby to Grosmont ... stepped off the train and within a few yards found these wonderful picturesque tea rooms.The staff were very friendly and provided great service. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. We had toasties, tea & cake!The next time we are in Whitby we will definitely make a special journey to visit Hazelwood Tea Rooms.

Normalmente estoy bien con el café Nero, pero a pesar de su excelente ubicación en Cobregate esta sucursal no está a la altura de los estándares habituales. Aspecto descuidado en general, muebles bastante sucios y manchados. Tuvimos que cambiar la silla de nuestra mesa ya que estaba muy manchada y sucia. Las mesas no muy limpias no creen que tengan suficiente personal ya que el aprendiz de barista parecía no estar supervisado.

Called to make a reservation, but got an answer machine saying they must be too busy to answer the phone... so we called in on spec on a Friday night for a meal (as staying at a local'ish hotel), and the place was in darkness, so presumably closed for good?

We came across this tea room by chance and were pleasantly surprised. The service was very welcoming and efficient and we sat outside in the courtyard of Carlton Tower. We hope to return again.
