Really wanted to love this place but was disappointed from the start. Large sign with a list at entrance to a car park but when we drove in there didn’t seem to be parking for the cafe. We were able to park on the road outside. Interior was a bit bland with 4 tables that were very close to each other. No food menu - an underwhelming selection of cakes and one savoury croissant and one sausage roll on the counter. When asked the waitress listed a choice of savoury items - just focaccia with a few different fillings. Very little choice of cold drinks especially for children. No snacks (e.g. cookies ) for children either. Had gone hoping for breakfast type items (e.g. pastries/teacakes) but ended up having cakes . They were ok but nothing special. Won’t visit again which is a shame as we are local.

Went this afternoon as went last year and enjoyed it - what a change, ordered two lattes, a toasted teacake and a sausage roll. Service was terrible, coffee was cold, teacake was not toasted just slightly warmed up. Sausage roll did not arrive, waited ten minutes of so (after reminding one of the waitresses who came outside,) so went in only to find that it had not been put on the order. Paid another £4.90!! Still didn't arrive went back in to be told it would be about 10 mins to heat it up so asked for the £4.90 back. Ate the Not toasted teacake between us and it was so stodgy it gave us both indigestion. The place was almost empty so can't be put down to their being busy. BE WARNED

Dreadful service from staff who seemed more interested in chatting with friends and family. Took almost 30 minutes (in a cafe that only had three tables occupied) to remove a sausage roll from its display, warm it and deliver it to the table (without even asking if we wanted it warmed). Most of it was left on the plate as not nice to eat (particularly poor pastry), as was the piece of cake selected - dense, and tasteless.

We liked our visits to the hayloft this summer holiday staying at nearby accommodation. If you think of this place like the type of coffee/cafe you would get in a good hotel it all makes sense. Not the cheapest or widest selection of meals, rather a really good spot with nice decor, helpful staff and simple food done very well. All panini were good but ham & cheese was amazing. No fancy touches just REALLY good ingredients. The ham was more like a thick slice of Gammon. Daughter also had best choc chip ice cream of her life and wife had Victoria sponge (which must have been good because she left nine for me to finish off)

Situated near to Church Ope Cove and on the Pennsylvania Castle Estate this small cafe offers very limited seating inside but has plenty outside. Access is easy from the car park into the cafe with a gentle slope to the front door but there are a couple of steps inside the building but there is level access through a side door and there is also an accessible toilet. We called in for a snack but found the menu to be very limited and the salad dressing advertised on their website was not in evidence. Our paninis, though very tasty and good value, were pushed onto a tea plate and the crusts were over toasted and rather hard and could not be cut into with the knives provided. The staff were pleasant and polite and couldn't be faulted and the dining area very clean. We will be returning at some time.

Visited yesterday with my Son for the first time……expectations were low after reading negative reviews on here but it was just what we wanted in the middle of a 7mile hike. We ate indoors……..a nice feel to the place……we both had coffee and paninis which were lovely. Special mention for the excellent service from the young lady there. Will visit again!

We are local and love supporting small businesses. Before the summer holidays, we had a lovely lunch at The Hayloft, so decided to revisit on a sunny autumn weekend. We checked they were open before on social media and were serving food - they were. However, when we arrived only panini were offered. Whilst these were lovely, we had to wait a very long time and the food was squashed on a small side plate and with no accompanying salad (which we had last time). My daughter is dairy free but her plain ham panini had butter in. It was all a little “meh” and we won’t bother again/recommend.

Lovely location. Probably ok for a nice coffee stop but I am afraid to say i was not impressed with the food. Not really much on offer when i visited. I am vegetarian and had the cheese and chive scone. Wasn't cheap at £4 and didn't come with any cream cheese or chutney just a pot of butter. It had been heated in the mocrowave and so was really stodgy. Will go back for coffee but not for food. Such a shame.

Very nice scenery, a clean place, and a delightful environment, although it took over an hour to be served a couple of small quiches. I had an entire mixed grill the other week that came out in a quarter of the time. No real apologies were issued. Does not get the Lewis seal of approval.

Lovely feel and location, with great facilities and staff. Food is really good. Menu in process of revision to better show options for those with allergies etc and to celebrate their local produce ethos. They seem very accommodating so just ask.

For quick service and lovely food, can certainly say Muffins ticks all those boxes. Food is served hot and at perfect proportions; would happily come again. Enough seating for a family of 1-4 even if you’re just wanting a quick coffee or sandwich. All the staff are lovely and a big thank you to the woman with braces! Was very helpful and kind! 10/10
