Havishams Coffee House & Sandwich Bar in Swale

Visited Havishams yesterday and enjoyed a cup of tea and scone with my sister in laws, the scones were the best we have ever tasted. All the staff were extremely friendly but Lanette went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a very tasty scone, all the food did look amazing.

Stopped into Havishams for lunch as there was an outside table free. We ordered two cold drinks and a sandwich. The drinks were served very quickly. The sandwich did take a while, but it was very busy and does show it is made fresh. The Sandwich was generously filled and tasty. The cakes looked lovely, but we did not have any.

Charming and delightful cafe. Lovely menu. We had very attentive and competent service this morning. Chef cooked us perfect poached eggs. Couldn't be happier. The cakes looked irresistible, but we were too full with our breakfast to try them!

Visited this gorgeous cafe today. We had the home made lasagne, bubble and squeak and two cakes which were absolutely delicious & great portions too. Such a vibrant cafe, very pretty and the staff were lovely too. One of the best cafes I have been to in Faversham.

Had a chicken wrap and to be honest I could not eat it. Firstly it was served cold and the chicken was diced with salad that I think was a few days old .Paid 7 pounds for this.was highly disappointed.

Check out the new brunch/lunch item on the menu. The ‘stack’ is a combination of halloumi, spinach,hash brown and poached egg on a muffin. Delicious! Great food, great staff!

We just had a fabulous family brunch for my daughter’s birthday. Havisham’s is quirky and cosy and has lots of character. It was very busy due to the bank holiday so the food took a while to arrive, but it was worth the wait. My breakfast was delicious and the coffee was very good. Our server, Scott had his work cut out but did an amazing job and he was so friendly and cheerful. Just a word of warning- they only take cash payments so come prepared!

On a wet and windy Saturday having looked around the small market we popped into the café for a coffee and cake. The café was very welcoming and the staff so friendly and even though it was late in the day there was still a good selection of cakes on offer. It was certainly a good find on such a nasty day.

Had a lovely lunch - between us we had soups, jacket potatoes and scrambled eggs. Followed by delicious cakes and coffee.

First visit back after the New Year and Havishams was just as warm and welcoming even without the Christmas decorations. We had excellent coffee and excellent cakes and had the usual fun with the friendly staff. I tried their Red Velvet cake for the first time - deliciously moist and flavoursome! Thumbs up to Havishams and we wish you a great 2024.

I thought I would treat myself to brunch as I had a day to myself to do some Xmas shopping. I ordered a coffee & eggs & smashed avocado on toast. The food arrived quickly but didn’t look very appealing. The bread looked & tasted like sliced supermarket bread. The egg was watery & the white was runny & undercooked. The avocado must have come straight out of the fridge & made everything cold. I sent the food back and paid for my coffee. I have had the same brunch cooked really well from many other places (which isn’t difficult to cook) including a lovely little cafe nearby which has sadly now closed. Very disappointing, I won’t be back!

On our visit to the Christmas market in Faversham today I stopped in Havisham’s for what i can only describe as the best breakfast I have had in Faversham, the staff were friendly, helpful and just amazing considering how busy it was in there, even managed to squeeze an extra chair onto a table so I could sit with all my family, i was amazed at how quickly my breakfast came considering we ordered four and how high quality it was, the coffee was amazing and just an all round perfect experience. And in the Christmas spirit I had to take a photo of this unique and beautiful Christmas display in the caffe just made my day!

Stopped in Havishams on Sunday whilst visiting the antiques market on a very cold and wet winters day, what first caught my eye was the fantastic Christmas displays in the windows so i had to go inside, to be welcomed by such friendly and helpful staff, and on the counter which was filled with homemade cakes were these wonderfully displayed minced pies, i had to ask how they were made and what ingredients were in them and the lovely lady that served me informed me that they are homemade orange and almond pastry and homemade filling, all made by the wonderful owner, no additives or anything bad! I had to try one, to which i was offered it warm with cream and mulled wine who could say no to that! From the first bite to the last they were fantastic by far the best minced pies i have ever tasted and warm on a winters day was just the best will definitely be retuning to have more!!

We love this place, everytime we visit Faversham we pop into Haversham Cafe, the food is excellent and the owner is really friendly. Great atmosphere and good place to watch the world go by.

Popped in for lunch today. Love this place. Amazing atmosphere with 1950's music. Always go there when we are in Faversham. Had the best jacket potato I have had in forever. Delicious. Was really busy, so a bit of a wait but it was worth it. Staff really friendly. Thoroughly recommend

We've been coming to Havishams regularly and have never been disappointed. Whether we have a delicious homemade lunch or coffee and their wonderful choice of cakes, it's served by friendly and helpful staff.

The best breakfast in town staff are very welcoming food is always good. Will be recommending to all.

I hate to give a bad review to a small business but our experience was pretty ridiculous. We ordered egg and avocado on toast and the coronation chicken jacket potato. The food took forever, I can only assuming they were growing and harvesting the potato from scratch. When it arrived it was basically inedible. The chicken was so tough and was flavourless. As for the other meal, there was only one slice of toast which felt pretty paltry and white part of the egg wasn’t cooked enough and was still gooey and jelly like. Honestly a really bad experience and the fact they don’t take card payments in 2023 is also insane.

We come here regularly because it’s such a wonderful place. Staff are so friendly, the cakes are AMAZING & we love the menu & prices. What makes it for me is the aesthetic of the cafe- love the teapots, mugs & the cosines of the place. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

A quaint, lively and busy little cafe serving fabulous Teas, superb homemade Cakes, breakfasts and homemade lunches. The menu was comprehensive with something for everyone. It was the Hop festival weekend and the high street was crammed with revellers making hard work for staff waiting the much busier than usual tables. We sat outside and were served by Viv. What a smashing lady with a dry sense of humour. Nothing was too much trouble for her and even though all the staff were rushed off their feet, Viv ensured our lunch order plus drinks were brought to the table promptly, fresh and hot. She provided us with all condiments and cutlery prior to the food arriving ensuring our visit was both pleasurable and memorable. Viv is a real credit to the company. We shall definitely be going back to Havershams.

My favourite Faversham café! The cakes - all homemade - are divine & beautifully displayed, the savouries are delicious, & the staff are friendly & attentive. I love the decor too & its central position with lovely views of the attractive town centre.

Again walking around in this lovely town and come across somewhere for coffee and cake. Staff very welcoming, chatty and looking very happy in their work. The freshly baked cakes were wonderful and the coffee fresh and served well. We will definitely return.

Stunning lunch in this nicely run cafe. The big breakfast is made of quality ingredients with exceptionally meaty sausages and perfectly cooked bacon. The non - greasy bubble and squeak was packed with interesting veg and served with thick hand-cut ham. Recommended.

I was taken aback at the beautifully quaint café that I found in Faversham High Street. On a day trip with my family, Google showed up high reviews of this cute café. The shortbread was amazing and the tea was served in beautiful ornate cups. If you love a traditional English tea room you found it in this café!

At the end of a week of fresh air and fun in whitstable, my family and I decided to walk along the seafront to Faversham. After being rained on twice and having only had two slices of focyacia for lunch, the vegan all day breakfast that greeted us at Havishams was a welcome tonic. Two hash browns, mushrooms, tomatoes, a large slice of toast, beans and spinach. The only room I could find for improvement was that there weren't more delicious vegan options to choose from. I look forward to returning.

Unfortunately this place didn’t impress. The lady, who I gather was the owner, made a rude comment to me when I asked about waiting outside to be seated: ‘do what you like , I don’t care if there’s no masks and dirty cash’ or something along these lines. I thought I misheard her but my son heard this too. We should have walked away then, but we were promptly seated by a friendly waitress. We went ahead and ordered some cakes which came on pretty but miniature plates . Unfortunately the cakes looked better than they tasted. The scone I had was dry and stale and my son thought his Victoria sponge was greasy. When it came to paying we incorrectly assumed we could pay by card , but alas they only take ‘dirty cash’ here , which was a shock given these Covid times. If the tiny market stall holders outside have contactless payment, there’s really no excuse for a bustling cafe to not have card payment as an option . All in all this cafe was an unpleasant experience.

If in Faversham i would always lunch at Havishams, But they have changed hands lunch was tasteless and dry and coffee to strong even after i asked for a weak coffee I wont be going back there again

Had such a pleasant afternoon at Havishams today. The owner of the shop Jenny well and truly went out of her way to look after mine and my complicated dietary needs. Food was first class and thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Credit to the owner and the staff that go above and beyond with all that’s happening in this world. Highly recommended. Keep up the great work !

After the lockdown I didn't really know what to expect from cafes and restaurants. i came into havishams and was greeted with a smile and great service and most importantly great food. everything was perfect and I do not say that after. will definitely be returning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I usually pop into Havisham's on a market day for a breakfast and pot of tea. I love it, the music is upbeat and the staff welcoming and friendly. Such good value for money and spotlessly clean. A real gem.

After a bracing coastal walk around a local nature reserve, we stopped off in Faversham in search of a coffee shop. We dropped into Havishams, a little surprised to be the only customers at 4pm. Behind the counter a lady was sweeping the floor but made no response to our 'hellos' as we chose a table and sat down at a table in the window. Eventually we ordered tea and various cakes from the counter display - all of which we enjoyed! But our attempts at conversation with the lady were fruitless and as soon as another member of staff arrived, she put on a coat and went across the road to a bench and lit a cigarette. When she returned her colleague did the same - not a great look when you're serving food and drinks.After half an hour or so we paid our bill and left, again with barely a word from our hosts. Perhaps they'd had a particularly busy day but was it too much to expect a smile and a welcome when we arrived, and a thanks when we left? Needless to say, if we visit Faversham again we won't be including Havishams. Very disappointing.

Fantastic find in the centre of delightful Faversham. We just love this quirky eatery which offers delicious food at reasonable prices. We went for coffee and booked a table to return for lunch.

Visited Faversham for the first time and popped into Havisham's for breakfast.Ordered 2 Americano's, smoked haddock with 2 poached eggs and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, side salad and toast. Came to £20 which is fair. All was good and we definitely would have liked to try the cakes if it was later in the day.

Although born in Kent, I had never visited Faversham before but, having now enjoyed tea and cake in Havishams, it will hopefully not be long before I return. My family and I popped into the establishment on my wife's birthday. Being a dull and cold day we were looking forward to a hot drink and a good slice of cake. And that is exactly what we got. It is a rare thing these days to find a remarkable cup of tea so I was very pleased to enjoy tea in a proper tea cup. Great flavour too. Everyone else had coffee of one variety or other and each cup was relished. Among the cakes enjoyed were gypsy tart and an amazing banana cake. Both delicious. We found the owner and her ladies very pleasant and helpful. Thank you all. It was a great birthday tea.

Right in the middle of the Town on antique market day and we were lucky to get the last table. Nice friendly staff, reasonable menu choice and lovely cakes! We had bubble and squeak and Yorkshire toastie, both very filling and tasty. We couldn't fit cake in so we took a piece home! Definitely recommended.
