We used to enjoy coming here... but the change in management can only be the reason it is now incredibly expensive.... £3.75 for a gingerbread man! £2.85 for a bottle of flavoured water! £24+ for a family of for... 2 hot drinks, 2 cold drinks and 3 biscuits...... We definitely won't be coming again to the cafe! Garden centre is average and doenst have the extensive range it used to have.

Absolutely ghastly. Had an overpriced breakfast here. Truly shocking. Low quality and poor. Very expensive for what it is. The sausages were shocking. The beans poor quality topped with a smelly dog next to me.

Home made simple good food. Their lasagna is delicious. Meals are quick and tasty. Nothing fancy. Lovely staff too. It is what it is. A great cafe.

The food used to be delicious here but since the cafe was taken over the food has gone downhill. Not having been for a while I didn't realise they no longer do the lovely chunky chips they used to have and my meal came with frozen fries. When I asked for a refund on the fries which were inedible it was refused as I was told that the menu didn't state they were chunky chips. Two stars given for the soup which my friend enjoyed & the service was good

Used to be a regular at this cafe. Since take over by new management visited a few times and been disappointed. Visited today and my friend said she only wanted the meat bap no chips . Paid for her meal but then decided she did want the chips was told couldn’t change her mind as the meal had gone through the till🤷♀️ I went on to order the chips and pay for them only to find when we looked at our receipt my friend had been charged the full amount for her meal which included chips ? On receiving the chips they were not homecooked but frozen chips that we couldn’t eat. The chips were always home cooked what has happened to this cafe 🙁 feel sorry for staff they’re always so nice . Can’t find a contact to get in touch and feed back to the management team .

Lovely, friendly place for either coffee and cake or lunch, ideal for friends catch-ups. No real rush as usually tables available, except for maybe Christmas lunches. Could do with a bit of TLC though! When it rains, the roof leaks in places and buckets abound - understand it is due for refurbishment soon, hopefully before autumn and winter rains!

First time here but I wasn't impressed. My blueberry and lime scone was very dry and had hardly any fruit in it. A friend had a bacon sandwich which was very fatty and greasy. For the price paid, it wasn't worth it

Spacious, safe and pleasant cafe to meet and eat in the current circumstances and can provide good chips and tea. The ‘home made’ pea and mint soup with freshly baked bread sounded very appealing, what a disappointment at £5.20 for a small bowl. Not a pea in sight and no mint flavour accompanied a mass produced roll wrapped in cellophane. Blueberry and Lime Scone was the same, just a bland lump of dough with a couple of blueberries evident. Staff failed to deliver a bowl of soup to a member of the group and said ‘why didn’t you come and ask for it’!! Such a shame as it’s a good place to meet as a group after a local walk on a crisp winter day.

My husband & I visited Hatties today for coffee/something to eat. He ordered the “big breakfast”. When it arrived he commented that it looked a mess. I had to agree it did. I said never mind as long as it tastes ok (although I felt that maybe not) The beans were on top of the fried bread so it was soggy. The egg on top of everything and it was hard. It looked to me like a bigger plate should have used as everything seemed to be piled on top of each other. It just looked a mess and unappetising. My husband left the bacon and 1 sausage. Fortunately we have 3 dogs so I took his left over items home for them. He said I will never eat there again. PLEASE PLEASE improve things!! It doesn’t take much to make food look appealing doe it?

Having read some of the reviews I feel compelled to write my own experience. I love Hattie’s restaurant. Forget the price, Hattie’s menu covers for all tastes. I just love a hearty breakfast, Hattie’s offer a great selection of breakfast deals. I always select the big garden breakfast, the large plate with its free range egg, beautiful cured bacon, sausages that taste delightful, hash browns and other accompanying delicious delights. With the sides of toast and jam I get a massive bargain. The staff that greeted me, big smile, lovely greeting, helpful, jokingly making reference to my Pork pie hat, totally charming. Hattie’s is not a back street cafe, Hattie’s is an experience. It was 12-30 when I left, well and truly stuffed. You can always judge a eating establishment by the bottoms on seats, all taken

Not eaten there for a while but my husband and I called in and decided to have hatties home made pie as we have had this previously and enjoyed it. The menu said steak with pastry so I presumed it was the same as before, in an individual dish with a light and fluffy puff pastry. When it arrived I was so disappointed the pie was enclosed in a suet pastry which was stodgy and disgusting the fact the prices had risen didn’t bother me as I enjoyed this before but was unaware the recipe had changed as it had not mentioned it on the menu. I would advice anyone to stay clear of this unless you like stodgy awful pie!!

The food was so so, coffee is always crap here, but they have just increased their prices across the board despite the staff being paid minimum wage, two members of staff said they wouldn't use it as it was way too expensive, we have used it for over 20 years but enough is enough, people sat near us also said it had gone too far and would eat elsewhere in future so at least 4 people lost. People will only pay so much for cafe food, putting restaurant in the name adds no value.

We have had lunch many times at the Otley branch and always more than happy with the food and service.. Went to the branch near Bingley and what a difference, we ordered fishcakes that came with chips and salad. I started eating my fishcakes and soon realised there was no fish in the first one. Sliced the second one in half and all there was were large lumps of potatoe and no fish at all. The salad had one piece of tomato a couple of slices of cucumber and lots of raw red onion. I did receive a refund but what amazed me was the amount of plates I saw with food left on them. When we left I asked the person with me what he thought of the fishcakes he agreed they were horrible but ate them because he was hungry and didn't like making a fuss.

I booked a table for a light lunch for 2 people on the phone explaining that I needed a convenient table for a disabled friend. The assistant was very helpful, asking if we needed wheel chair space & saying she would organise a suitable table.Although we arrived very early,we were greeted warmly & shown to our table which was in fact, ideal. The staff were very busy with Christmas lunches & large parties but stayed friendly & helpful. We ordered Welsh Rarebit. There was a plain but fresh side salad which was a change from the complicated rather limp salads that sometimes appear in restaurants! The Rarebit was tasty with lots of cheeseFor unsophisticated but decent food & a friendly atmosphere I recommend.

My mum hasn't eaten out since being diagnosed as a coeliac. There were two options on the menu described as gluten free. One was a parsnip soup and the other a chicken lunch. She ordered a ham sandwich using a gluten free bread. There were three choices of dessert; carrot cake, chocolate cake and strawberry cheesecake. She had the carrot cake and said it was lovely.

I took a group of 22 people here for lunch today. The majority of our group were adults with learning disabilities, we also had four children.I had called in advance to let the restaurant know the size of our party and that we would not have much time.Tables had been reserved for us and at 1pm, lunchtime service was in full swing. Some members of our group can sometimes take a while to make decisions. This can be difficult to deal with, especially when that person is holding up a queue. The staff were patient, kind and helpful. We chose from every corner of the menu. The food was served quickly and was fresh and delicious.Inside an hour we were fed, watered and back on the bus, all very happy.I did make a point of expressing our thanks before we left but will do so again.Thank you everyone at Hatties Restaurant.

I came here for a quick lunch with a companion. We were both impressed by the atmosphere, the availability of seating and the wide-ranging menu. Service was quick and efficient, however I was rather disappointed with my sausage sandwich. Although fairly tasty, and served with a side salad, it came in sliced bread. Now this may just be me but I've never had that before in any cafe/restaurant. It just made it look really unprofessional and effortless, unfortunately. My companion was also a little disappointed with her ham sandwich as the ham was too thick and she had difficulty consuming it because it was so chewy. Apart from that, nice little cafe in a spacious, lovely garden centre.

We are regular Saturday afternoon visitors because the staff are amazingly welcoming to my disabled sons. Last Saturday one of my sons had extra mobility difficulties and the staff quickly brought a wheelchair and the very kind staff member who brought it helped me to persuade my son to get in and ensured we were ok before leaving us. This is just one example of how ALL the staff throughout the store are so lovely and caring. I would not feel comfortable taking my sons anywhere else. THANKYOU .

Spent ages choosing our meal only to be informed they had stopped serving hot food (it was just after lunchtime!) and could only have sandwiches. Strange as on the menu they advertise an 'All Day Brunch'????Anyway could not even get the sandwich I wanted. My granddaughter's ham was hard and chewy so we left most of our food. The staff were unfriendly. bored and unconcerned. Not a smile between them. They had very little interest in their customers and seemed only interested in cleaning up and wiping down the counter tops. One of them spent quite some time dragging the dining chairs around the floor whilst they swept up which made a dreadful screeching noise. So very annoying when we were trying to have a conversation. As customers we felt like we were just an inconvenience to them and that the restaurant was being run by them for them and the customers were completely irrelevant. Horrible.

We called here for lunch and ordered a tuna panni and the special- hot beef on toasted rosemary focaccia bread. The tuna melt had a large piece of burnt cheese attached to the underside and the focaccia roll was burnt and the beef was too thin, too dark and too tasteless to be anything other than processed. It was served with a reasonable side salad but the plate was swimming in gravy- soggy salad, not good.

A pleasant restaurant with easy chairs as well as tables. Very pleasant surroundings to have a meal. Plenty of choice: a wide selection of cakes, a substantial menu for breakfast and lunch from sandwiches to wholesome meals. We have never been disappointed. The restaurant is accessible but the toilets are a bit narrow for a wheelchair. There is also a gift shop, as well as garden centre. It's not cheap but prices are about average for a garden centre.

Four of us went yesterday. We ordered three sandwiches (two of which were the same) and a cheese on toast. Half an hour later the food arrived and it was wrong, one sandwich missing and the cheese on toast with bacon, did not have bacon. To make matters worse, two tables who had arrived after us had been served their food, eaten it and left when ours arrived and was wrong. Then had to wait another ten minutes for the missing/incorrect food to turn up, so half our party had eaten their food when the other half's finally arrived. How hard is it to make three sandwiches and cheese on toast? Won't be eating here again.

Where to start? I never leave reviews but every last part of today's experience was a train wreck. Paying full price for a breakfast to be told 2 ingredients are missing then the meal coming in bits. I had to remind staff twice what goes on a basic breakfast (listed on the menu) over the 40 minutes I had to wait for it to eventually pull together across 4 (literally 4) different plates! Seriously guys take a week off and have a serious look at how this place is run.

My first review of a place we've been visiting for a good few months now. Our friend with the wheelchair lives in the area so we've been going quite often. The place is so good. Super for wheelchair access both around the garden centre and the restaurant. The bacon/ egg / sausage combo is out of this world. The staff are so friendly and the chef brings the food to you...a great touch. The scones are definitely worth trying. Get them as a "cream tea" and you get tea, jam and fresh cream. Lovely. No disabled toilets and it would be quite difficult to get access to the others. Still a great place to have brunch and a snack. Definitely worth a visit. We might even see you there. We seem to run into lots of folk we know when we go.

Just popped in with my family for some lunch today. We ordered beer battered fish and chips twice and lasagne for my Sister. The fish was generally awful, tasteless and very oily especially the chips. My Sister said that the lasagne was dry and not very nice. Haven't been to the Roebuck for ages but thought we would give it a try. In all fairness the lady who served us asked if everything was okay and we said it could have been better, just replied. I will tell him about it. Probably meaning her boss or the chef. No offer of anything else or money back. We definitely won't be going back.
