Harveys Fish and Chips. in Preston

Been eating here since I was a kid, was one of the best in Preston. Utter rubbish now, black old lumps on chips, lumpy curry sauce, lazy ignorant server. Its Too bad Harvey sold. I’d rather eat the 3 pound coins I paid…

The chips were cold, stale and hard to eat. Don’t bother wasting your money. Head to bill and Bens instead

Food was abysmal. Nearly £6 for a sausage, chips, mushy peas, and current. Burnt sausage, only 10 chips (which were also burnt) and the peas aren't mushy. Don't waster you money - it's business and not a food outlet. SCAMMERS!

Scammers food late freezing not edible

Worst chippy I've ever had! 1 star only because they don't have anything lower. The curry sauce is just water with curry powder in it.

Worst Fish & Chips ever! Bad attitude when complained about the gone off fish and the chips being black! He sent 2 new bags of chips out which were also black. He wasnt interested in my complaint. Took it to Just Eat and got a full refund and at £32 im glad I did. The driver actually took all our food back 🤢 when he dropped the new chips off. Dread to think of them being re issued to next Customer! AVOID!!

Pleasantly and fantastically surprised. The fish was immaculate, chips could have used another minute in the fryer but otherwise spot on. In and out within 10 minutes with piping hot food, bravo.

The food was Cold and a Ordered it at 9pm didn't Come till 10.30pm . and a Ordered Donuts and thay Given Me Sausages in Stead was Not Happy and A Got a Pie Meal a only got the Pie and Peas and And Two Fish n Chips was all Cold and A got 2 Milk Shakes Was Small was Not Happy about that as well . Naver Ordereding From there Aver Agen Bad Service! .

I ordered chicken noodles, when I sat to eat it, there was no chicken only noodles and BIG chunks of green and red peppers.. I rang them, only to be told, they'll do better next time!! There won't be a next time!

Just had sausage and chips for lunch. The chips were awful with black bits and rubbery, also cold. The sausage was good. We threw most of it away. Only went here because Bill and Ben's the best chippy ever is closed on a Monday. Never again will I go to Harvey's.

Ordered a seafood noodle but when I get home it wasn't a seafood noodle, not even taste seafood and not a piece of seafood on it. The fish and chips I believe that should come with a sauce but there wasn't. And I request the noodles not spicy but it was still spicy.

Such a shame what happened to what was once one of Preston’s best chip shops. when Harvey and Jerry owned the shop you always got fresh, delicious food. Now you get chips where 70% of them aren’t cooked properly and are practically raw. they’ve got a decent sausage but you can’t really mess up a sausage can you. Not to mention the price increase. you’re best off going across the road to Bill and Bens for a better chippy and a better price.

Worst Chicken Fried rice I have ever had in my life. The rice was uncooked and no salt and spicy despite I specifically asked for spicy one. I came driving 15miles to get Fried rice and it was total disappointing experience for me. No one should ever try this dish here.

They have no business running a food business completely rude and zero understanding of times. Waited over 1hr20 minutes for food to turn up and then be freezing cold which was refused. When calling the restaurant back no apology no manners and they insisted that I had to organise the cancellation. Reading the multiple bad reviews from the chip shop since it has changed ownership, is clearly an indicator they are running the business into the ground.

You need to remove Harvey's good name from above the door. Absolutely awful food. Chips were dry, cold and hard. I found more than one hair in my food too. Never been back since.

The price is not the same in the shop and Internet. This not good .

When Harvey and Jerry were there, the food was good, always hot, price was right, and the staff were pleasant. Now, if you can manage to overlook mediocre fish, lukewarm chips, almost cold peas, rock hard pies that must have been in the warmer all day, prices considerably higher than the nearest rival chippy (you know where it is) and surly staff it's STILL BIT A PATCH patch on what it used to be. Won#t go there again

Forgot 2 of the 3 portions of chips, rang to get it fixed and they tried to charge for the chips AND delivery to rectify their own mistake, attitude of the woman on the phone was awful, ordered replacement chips from Warburtons chippy and they were lovely, avoid Harvey's and go to Warburtons, you won't be disappointed with them at least

Always fresh and very tasty. One of my current addictions and I'm loving it. Meals come in original flavours which is great. You can ask for it to be seasoned and spiced according to your preference. Finally, the portions are impressive. I always have to share it in two. This is deserving five stars.

Here from the states to visit family and looked forward to some chippy takeaway. Utter disappointment. Fries were soggy and undercooked. Fish tasted old and batter on the fish was soggy as well. Husband's mushy peas were watery and almost like a thin pea soup. Shame that I can say I've had better in America.

I ordered through justeat and this place had the WORST fish and chips I've ever had. The chips were simultaneously old *and* undercooked, soggy and greasy. The fish had soggy sloppy batter and tasted fishy (ie old not fresh fish). The worst fish and chips ever. Thanks for screwing up my introduction to American friends to good English food

Ordered Meat/Potato pie, small chips, Gravy and Donner meat and chips. The Donner meat was dry, the chips were soggy and the gravy was like jelly and tasted of onions - won't be using them again

Great fish and chips, free tub of Curry and Gravy probs cost nothing much but won my heart over this gesture and i will be using them again.

Disgraceful fish and chips and I have written a review on food hub I don't write reviews but christ you was 1hr and 25mins late you never looked at my description for how my food was wanted at all. Then when it came it was cold soggy and the fish was overcooked to hell the chips was like they was hoverd above the fryer, not only that when I ring to complain no answer. Dont go here terrible service.

What can I say that hasn't been mentioned before? Since moving to this side of town, I can honestly say, wholeheartedly, that the move was worth it. Simply, Harvey's. The best fish and chips on dry land. I highly recommend everyone to check it out. My personal recommendation is the big fish. 12 ounces of goodness. Enjoy world class customer service from Harvey and the whole crew. They will most definitely remember you and your choices as they have done with my choices. I have been going to Harvey's regular for around 3 years now, I have not eaten from another chippy since first trying Harvey's. By far the best chippy you will find in Preston, amazing food everytime, always fresh and hot. Harvey and Jerry are legends and the most friendly people you could come across. Well worth a visit!

I don't live in Preston but when visiting my family we always go to Harvey's and it's simple why. Deano & Gerry give the most generous portions of chips and the best battered fish in Preston. They always care about their customers, I always enjoy the banter. But our Friday treat from Harvey's is something the whole family look forward to. Check them out.
