Food was okay. Salad bar was shocking. Good service.

We met friends for lunch, having pre booked online. From the moment we entered we were made welcome and everything was explained to us. We were shown to our table, perused the menu and were dealt with by Jean who was amazing!. The food arrived in a timely manner, was well presented, hot and very tasty. We did not feel rushed or pressured at any stage. Overall a very pleasant experience!

Not been here for a very long time. We didn’t book a table so unfortunately we weren’t able to sit in the restaurant where it is table service. We did however sit in the bar area will no table service which was fine. We ordered at the bar and was given a bowl each for the salad bar. Our food wasn’t long before it arrived and was very nice. The only disappointing parts were no one came ti see if our food was ok or to clear the plates away. We finished our meals and ordered desert and when this arrived no one took our plates away so everything was piling up. Looking around all the tables that had been occupied were just covered in empty plates, bowls, glasses and were still like that when we left. Even on our way out the outside seating areas were just left covered with empty glasses. Not really ideal and a bit of an eye sore!

Food is ok. Only go there for the stamps. However, some staff make their own rule against stamping and breach the t&c's. It was like talking to a wall when you try to explain. Not worth it.

We went for a meal late on a Friday morning and staff were welcoming and the place wasn't too busy. We were able to get a table for 3 without booking. We visited with our 1.5 year old and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we were seated near the kitchen and the extractor fan was extremely loud to the point that we were having to shout just to hear each other talk. This noise combined with us and other guests shouting destroyed any relaxed atmosphere that could have been made. The menu options are great and they have a kids menu that caters for under 4s, however even though we ordered from this menu for our 1.5 year old, his food was served on a plate that was far too hot to touch, even for adults. The plate was placed in front of him as I was informed that it was hot so I had two quickly move it out of reach to prevent burning him. However the server did notice it was hot and did provide an extra plate for us to use that was cold. Overall the food was fresh and nicely cooked. We enjoyed the food but we didn't enjoy the atmosphere or the experience and we would hesitate before visiting again because of the noise from the extractor fans.

we arrived at 8 In the evening, was very miserably greeted by Elaine. Who needs some lessons in customer service and hospitality as she didn’t really have any. Not very approachable. We were sat about ages waiting for her to pay the bill. We could have got up and walked out without paying if we hadn’t gone up to the bar, we won’t be going to this one again. Everything seemed too much effort for them. Go to Colton mill. The staff there are lovey and a much nicer atmosphere

The manager was very welcoming when we arrived and checked that we had entered car registration to avoid getting a fine. The waitress was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent and one of the best we have had. If we are ever back up that way we will definitely visit again. Highly recommended.

ordered from here twice. once paper was still on the cheese with the burgers. the second time the burger was burnt, missing cheese, missing sauce. chips missing sage and onion when ordered and it came 40 mins late. horrible.

Firstly can I just say Kelly, who served me,was delightful. The rotisserie chicken was delicious and there was plenty on the plate. Just a pity I had no room for dessert. Happy days.

Always a pleasure when we're served by Lisa. Recent update to the menu brings back salmon fillet which we love. Prices not too crazy and the team do a great job.

Not been to one of these for a while Still unlimited salad bar and lots of choice of accompaniments. Our server was very amiable. Lunch deal was good value.

There was no drink menu available, so we had to guess what drinks were served. We were also informed that drink prices had increased, but no updated menus were provided. On top of that, one of our orders was incorrect, forcing us to wait an additional 15 minutes while my daughter was already starving. We had already waited 20 minutes for our food. To make matters worse, my chicken flatbread was completely inedible—the chicken was grey, had a foul smell, and tasted like it had been sitting for days. What was supposed to be a special Mother’s Day meal turned into a huge disappointment.

Entered the harvester very unwelcoming atmosphere staff didn’t look like they wanted to be there if I’m honest. We sat down and ordered pretty much straight away as there was only one other family in there at the time. We waited at least half an hour for our food when we asked where it was they said it had only been on the system for 13 minutes which in fact we had been sat there half an hour or more. We said forget about our food as we had somewhere to be however the lady said it’s here now in which I could see it was just sat on the pass not sore how long it had been there but when the food came over it was freezing. I let the staff member know and she said do you want another or shall I just take it off no apology nothing, to say these people work in hospitality they have no customer skills what so ever I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Quite disappointed with the meal. The salad bar looked tired, the five bean salad was sat in almost a milky juice. The rest didn't look that fresh. My main meal of The Chicken Stacker wasn't up to much either. The fillet burgers were quite dry and tasteless, the fries weren't that warm. The cheese and jalapeno doughnuts were nice, the hash brown again, like the chicken fillets, was dry and tasteless. Our waitress was very pleasant and welcoming.

We attend here for food quite often and we have never had bad service or food. The staff are attentive and professional.

Lovely food, lovely staff, wish I knew the woman’s name cos she was great. Was a VERY busy day and had to wait a little longer than expected, you could see the server didn’t stop though, so the food and service still makes it a 5 star

The venue was nice and the staff were very polite and helpful but the food was average at best. When you're paying over £16 for a burger you'd be forgiven for having high expectations. The burger and chips were presented very well but that's as good as it got. The burger meat itself was extremely bland and tasteless there wasn't even a sear to at least get a chargrilled flavour to it. I left nearly half of it because It was just a texture in my mouth with no flavour or enjoyment whatsoever. I wish I'd crossed the road and got a double cheeseburger from McDonald's. My partner got chicken skewers which again all looked really nice and presentable but the meat wasn't fresh chicken breast it was the frozen preformed meat you get from Farmfoods. She did comment that the sage n onion chips were very nice. My daughter's cheese pizza from the kids menu was the only food that didn't look nice, it looked like it had been in the oven for three shifts. My Son had BBQ Chicken but yet again it was more performed chicken meat. Both kids didn't touch their main and just ate their chips and salad bowls. They did enjoy the build your own ice cream sundaes but it was little consolation after having to pay so much on a meal none of us enjoyed. In summary the venue, staff and presentation of the food is great but the low quality ingredients is preventing this restaurant from being somewhere I'd like to visit again.

We were a party of seven. Had a great time. Lovely, friendly and accommodating staff. Food pretty good for a multiple to be fair. Happy to go back sometime. Danielle was very helpful indeed. Recommended.

I just ate here with my 6 year old son who is autistic, I did not book beforehand, first time there and we were seated. The waitress came 5mins later and I said I was on the App ordering, she immediately told me that I had to move? I heard others ordering on the App, was not going to move my son so just ordered from the menu. Food was just ok. I asked to speak to Manager before I left, no clear explanation other than sorry. Training on customer service needed for sure. I left so confused. All I said was if there is specific seating requirements, why not ask before seating me? Why and how are others ordering from App. He did not even ask me if the food was ok, shocking... I am contacting senior management, worst experience since moving here.

Rude and unwelcoming feeling, asked for colouring for children, waited 10 minutes, nothing, asked same person again, no apology, more waiting, finally brings, no apology. Drinks took an age, food finally came after 1 hour, didn’t even provide any cutlery. Had to wonder around aimlessly trying to find a staff member. Asked for mayonnaise “sure we’ll bring some” did not bring some. All food arrived cold. If it hadn’t of taken so long that we had to rush off for a booking at Excape, we’d have expected a refund for this terrible experience. We visited on behalf of the good reviews here, and left the place feeling extremely disappointed and very confused. Only positive is the seating and decor. Everything else that matters, zero.

We have been at Harvester Castleford on the valentines day 2025 the first time. We did not pre book and the gentleman ot the desk told us that we can sit in the bar area which was fine. He took us over to the table and gave us the menu cards and advised that we’d have to order from the bar. We sat at one of the tables near the window where we were looking at menu. It was a bit dark there and we have noticed that a couple from the table next to us just left so we thought we’d move over there as the lighting was better. We went to the bar. There was an older lady with short gray hair and we ask her if we can order our food here. She said „well if he told you to sit here then the its ok i guess” with a very unhappy face. Then we asked her if she could sort out the table for us as there were dishes from previous customers. The look at her face that moment was shocking. She did not say a word and walked over there to sort it out acting like it was a big deal. She literally ruined the whole Atmosphere for us. Then we were ready to take the order. She was acting very unprofessional the whole time and when we mentioned the allergy. She said.” I am not doing that” she walked off and someone else came over to take the order.The meal was good in general and the restaurant is very pleasant, but i dont think we will be going back there as this experince did make us feel unwelcome. I hope the managemt see this review and will have a word with that person!

After my poor review last week I can say that this week the food improved 100% and everything was back to normal regarding the portion sizes. Kirsty was great as usual and very professional. Back again next week.

Service by the staff when we arrived was excellent, very friendly and welcoming, pre booked table was ready when we arrived, we were asked if we wanted drinks while we browsed the menu, bowls for the self serve salad bar were given to us, the salad bar was all full and fresh looking and tasty, sauces and condiments were readly available, our main course food was delicious and very tasty and dessert, the brownie sunda was to die for, could not ask for anything else better

We arrived as a group of 8 earlier than booked and our table was ready which was great. Food was hot and served quickly etc. staff all seemed friendly.

Visited recently around Christmas with some family which was the first visit here for a few years . Just as previous visits, good service, good food, reasonable prices, all with a handy location and fair sized car park. Decent place with a good reliable experience!

Nice place, good food, good price... The menu and food are excellent, great flavours, combos, something for everyone! Had a mixed grill which didn’t disappoint, salad bar good as ever but no lettuce! Seating was good and the place was warm n cosy, just what you need on a winters day! Lisa was her usual efficient self and couldn’t do enough for us.. suffice to say, we will be back!

Food was awful we had chicken on a flat bread it was so dry. Service rubbish and absolutely freezing so wasn't pleasant the best bit was the free salad bowl won't go again.

Table booked for 12, we arrived 10ins early and ordered. The food didn't arrive till 12.30. Half hour wait is too long when there were not that many tables full initially. After lunch waited another 20mins for waitress to clear so we could order coffee. My chicken, from dirty bird burger, was boiled and horrid then the coating was burned. My guest had fish and chips and said it wasn't as good as Hungry Horse pubs which are half harvester price. Wasn't a good meal, wont be attending again near Xmas.

Great service. Free parking. If you want to visit I believe they offer 25% discounts on the app for new customers. To give you an idea on prices our bill was just over £70 for 3 meals with 3 drinks.

Unfortunately this will be our last visit. Tired of paying for food to be left under a warming light for way too long and be served cold or tasting like it has been reheated several times. It has got so bad that every visit we know its going to be cold and dreading having to ask for fresh hot food. Despite assurances from managers that the problem is been addressed its getting worse. Do genuinley feel sorry for the people who take orders and serve food as they do work hard and have to listen to complaints. When seated facing the kitchen hatch we have seen food left under warming lamps waiting to be served for up to 30 minutes Such a shame as when the food is hot and doesnt taste like its been reheated several times its a good place to eat. Didnt want to leave such a negative review and would not have but for the fact its happened too many times

The staff are friendly and friendly, but sadly we haven't always had a consistency of food preparation.....can be over cooked or dry, but as pub grub, no frills food goes, it's ok and doesn't put us off going as a family! Parking aways ok, but at peak times do book (don't forget to sign for vehicle registration in on arrival) free parking. Wheelchair friendly. Disabled spaces. Toilets clean. Free salad bar with meals which is nice. It's family friendly and not too expensive either. Local and convenient. Staff make the place really as they are all friendly. Thanks

Visited today last min choice sadly was dissatisfied food was cold when it arrived seemed very short staffed so didnt complain shame as service was lovely just disappointed as it was a treat for us

It was lovely but we were made to feel they wanted us to leave as soon as we had eaten, closing early due to staff shortage, it was boxing day and I had booked this family meal back in September, we have been coming here the past few years, this was our christmas family gathering which we were made to cut short, by hints been made by staff. Maybe we should have been made aware of the timescale beforehand.

We go quite often for breakfast the manager Neil is absolutely brilliant as are all the staff the staff are absolutely brilliant as is the food

We went for our christmas dinner i don't think it was worth the money we paid we didn't even get sprouts on our Xmas dinner but other tables had them , the xmas dinner was abit cold.

Went for Breakfast with Santa. Lovely food, great festive atmosphere and the kids really enjoyed seeing the Big Man 🎅🏻 himself.

Food was burnt, menu change is very disappointing, its massively reduced. Service was slow. The only good thing was the drinks are free refills and there's the salad bar to munch on whilst you wait. Although don't fill up cos you won't have room for your dinner

Staff were all friendly but had to wait long time to have plates cleared and order sweets. Also food was tepid at best and had to complain about how cold the chips were and flat bread was cardboard. In addition my partner had to sit with her coat on and my coat over her legs.

Brought my dad in his wheelchair, staff made sure we were seated somewhere he was comfortable and not in anyone's way so he wasn't getting knocked as people passed. Food was lovely and disnt take too long to come, the salad bar is a nice touch

Rang the store to ask about availability, the woman who answered said they were fully booked. Before I could ask until what time and if there was any chance there’d be any cancellations, she hung up. She was very rude and abrupt and while I understand that if they are fully booked they will be busy and stressed, there is no need to be rude to someone with a query.

It was ok food was hot service was good . Don't expect home cooked food, what we got was good for chain pub food

Called in for a meal... Table for 2 at lunchtime (1.15) To be told there was a minimum waiting time of 20 minutes..... Bloody ridiculous as there was at least 15 empty tables that we could see through the window... So we took our business elsewhere...

I found a chicken feather in my chicken which really put me off; I told a staff member about it just to be told its bound to happen and its nothing they can do about. Kept trying to give me dessert even when I said no as I was feeling nauseous from seeing a feather. The ketchup was a month out of date as well. They didn't give me a discount or say sorry.

Delivery time kept changing and went to over 40mins past delivery time…. All together ended up waiting 1 hour and 30 mins for food. Then when it arrived it was cold. Normally when I’ve eaten in the restaurant there’s never been an issue but this was a very poor experience.

We had a problem with my meal but Heather our waitress sorted it out she was very professional.

Went here on Saturday night was told when we arrived that there was only one chicken dish left so we ordered scampi.when it arrived the peas were cold.i ordered ice cream for dessert was told they had run out..this is not the first time they have run out of stuff. At the end was presented with a bill for £95 and there was 4 of us..

Came for breakfast this morning,placed order no worries heard chef say to front of house cart do scrambled eggs 20 minutes later (restaurant empty there was only one other person in)front house came said they cart do scrambled egg but any other egg is fine so bluntly replied isn't scrambled made from eggs the reply i got it comes packaged come on that's basic kitchen skills atmosphere was great cause it was empty starting to understand why and if you like a luc warm cup of tea then this is the place for you kitchen shouts food sits there for 10 minutes while staff talk about last night's soaps

We like this place for family meals. Good choices and deals, free salad bar. Service is always pretty good, don't wait long for food either.

Staff really rude. Walked in not to be greeted while staff was stood at bar on their phones. After a while of waiting to be sat down, whilst staff was talking to each other, got took to a table without a hello just pointed and walked away. We then went on to asking staff where we order? which she replied “give me a minute.” She then came over to table after 5/10 minutes very unhappy like she didn’t want to serve us took the order and walked away. Later brought the food dropped it on the table and walked away to talk to another staff member. The restaurant wasn't busy so no excuse for this service.

Dined in tonight using my blue light card and the food was superb. Our waitress was fantastic, tapping into our humour and making us laugh, thankyou so much. Definitely recommend 👌

Went for breakfast with friend which was lovely we wear served buy a very nice lady she was very helpful when we came to pay our bill I asked if it could be split as my friend had a full breakfast I had only had eggs and toast which she did for us I asked for the tip to be taken of our bill I do fined it a bit of a new sense it been put on the bill with out been informed I much prefer to give a tip to the person that as served me I do understand that it does not always go to the person that cooked the meal or to staff that keep the place running but I really don't like having to put a percentage of my bill in as I tip which I do not no where it goes and depending how much the bill is the tip could be a lot of money to me you should be able to choose if you tip or not it should not be put on your bill,we only found out this was happening as we had to go to the till with the lady so she could split our bill I will definitely say next time that we won't to pay separately and please don't put a tip on my bill I'm sorry I feel like this but into day economic situation I feel it should be my decision if I want to tip or not .

Only been for breakfast but its my favourite place in the area, good portions, quality ingredients and the staff are nice and are always lovely to my child.

Food was decent but over priced and wasn't excepting walk in even tho the restaurant was empty.
