Harvester The Beehive in Redbridge

I would recommend the Beehive Ilford. My self and a friend visited on Wednesday 21st February at lunch time . After being shown our table we did not have to wait long for a friendly waitress to ask us what we would like to drink. As we had been before we ordered the same meal that we enjoyed that time . We then went to fill our bowls with a very inviting salad .Very fresh a meal in it self . very fond of the olives. My main coarse was Haddock and chips . A good tasty size. Another enjoyable experience at this harvester .Full marks to the staff

Asian Male waiter was extremely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. All other staff were helpful and polite.

Went there for Birthday Eve meal. Used to be regular visitors, but the service has really gone down. The waitress, forgot to bring us our salad bowls, so we had to go and find her in the end. But the place wasn't busy, so not sure why she kept disappearing? The chefs, got the orders on our food mixed up, the portions were tiny, they salad bar had about 8 items, we had to constantly ask for stuff they hadn't bought up, so we never actually got all our meals at once! A shambles really and at £165 for six, I expected at least a nice meal and service. Done with Harvester I think in future.

Awful customer service. Stood & waited ages for someone to come to the front desk & seat us. She didn’t even apologise just strolled over & said ‘alllriiiight’. Our waiter could hardly speak English & food was terrible & not as described on the menu at all. Wouldn’t return.

Visited at around 8pm. It was quiet & we got served promptly by a good waitress. As we were finishing up our meal we needed takeaway boxes for the food & salad we couldn't finish. We were adamantly refused a box for the salad as this could not be a takeaway. The waitress who served us asked a senior waitress, who rudely said that she has told us on several occasions that salad cannot be a takeaway. On many occasions I have seen other tables take their salad as takeaway & no one has objected. But this senior waitress seems be biased against us. Plus the salad bar was totally empty at 9pm when the restaurant does not close until 10pm. When asked if it will be be refilled we were totally refused. So where does one have a refill of the salad when needed!!! They need to improve the attitude of their staff & stop telling customers that they close the restaurant at 9pm when it actually is 10pm. Other Harvesters have decent & more professional staff.

Came here for my birthday yesterday and Jesse was absolutely amazing. You could see she was busy but always managed to have a smile on your face every time she came over to the table! Food was perfect as always!

We stayed at the Travel lodge next door and ate here twice , evening meal and breakfast for 4 x adults on a plus point it was warm and cosy and service fairly quick , evening meal was ok the loaded chips were very poor drizzled in orange processed cheese nothing like the description chicken undercooked didn’t like being asked on payment by the waiter would we please leave a tip we were going to and it clearly gives you an option on the card machine but he asked us and then punched the amount in himself to make sure we gave him one I felt this rude and unnecessary. Breakfast was poor lady who served us was lovely but food was dry and tasteless sausage tasted and looked like it had been left in a BBQ overnight overpriced for dry and bland food

We visited today. Food was lovely. However we were shocked to see the bad language written on the walls of the ladies toilets. I had my 4 year old and 12 year old with me. Not very family friendly.

This visit was our annual Christmas/ New Year family get together, I have four adult children, each with a spouse and between them six children. The Beehive accommodated the fifteen of us comfortably. Booking was easy and upon arrival we found friendly and welcoming staff who even got the tv up and running for the early arrivals. My children and their families came from different parts of London, Essex and Norfolk so took a while to assemble but this didn’t phase Chardonnay, our server, who kept the drinks flowing. We had a great time, the food was good, the venue was fine and the service magnificent, we will be back en masse. Thank you.

It was a great time breakfast with Santa. Santa is doing great jobs. Kids were enjoyed. Breakfast was great. Food quality and service was excellent to the top notch. We booked again for Boxing Day after enjoying breakfast at beehive.

Me and my family love coming to this harvester, as the staff are always nice and attentive and the food is always cooked perfect.....unfortunately on this occasion our waiter Michael wasn't able to give a top quality service to his customers as he was the only waiter working. The restaurant was busy as today is the start of the 50% off main meals so having one waiter on is an absolute joke. I worked for Mitchell and Butler for 10 years and I left the company due to them not giving a damn about their staff. So called "family values" go out the window as the service just wasn't there and poor Michael was getting the brunt of the horrible clientele that Mitchell and butler cater for. We made sure to give him a decent tip in the hopes that it might somehow turn his day around but I couldn't see that happening. Michael done his best and should be rewarded 7 fold for having to put up with it.

Visited on Tuesday evening with friends, to take advantage of the government eat out offer. Hadn't been for a few years. Booked a table the previous day. Service was a bit slow but the staff were run off their feet.Salad bar was the same, except staff filled your plates and only 2 people at a time.Drinks, including refills had to be ordered from waiters Food, same menu as before. Big portions together with doggy bags.

We want there for a birthday a few months ago and it was great, a 5 star. However going back for lunch last month the food and service were mediocre. Our child got a corn flour macoroni and cheese and it was horrible. If we don't like it then why would my child. We told the waitress that this isn't a macoroni and cheese and she said "looks like it to me" and walked off. I couldn't be asked but will share a lovely photo so you can all determine for yourselves. I've given a 3 star because we went there before and it was great to be fair.

Always a good visit, excellent food selection and service. Free parking, just enter reg at reception. Don't eat too much salad before your main arrives and leave room for dessert.

Complaint from a vegetarian. The halloumi cheese tasted of fish. On enquiry was told that it's cooked in the oil the fish is cooked in so no surprise. Disgusting and against vegetarian ethics. Makes me wonder what else is supposed to be v*gan and isn't. I was given some garbled explanation about gluten intolerant people. I can't find a customer services email address to complain to. Harvester - if you do really NEED to cook ve*an food in in oil that has had fish (or meat presumably) in it, please make this clear on the menu. Dreadful

We went for a family meal with 6 of us. The unlimited salad went down a treat with a lot of variety. From the fish to steak all cooked perfectly and lovely and hot. Our waitress Janice was friendly and helpful with a few amendments that needed to be made to meals with a fussy eater in the family but she wasn't phased at all. The food arrived promptly perfectly timed as we had finished our salads. Overall brilliant meal, experience and serves.

the restaurant is bright and comfortable , excellent salad bar and plenty of choice on the menu --- we were well looked after , the food was tasty ,reasonably priced and well worth another visit.

Whatever your event, the Harvester takes care of it all! It was my Mum's 93rd birthday and, being local, it was an essentially easy drive round the corner. A great family reunion lunch!

We visited this restaurant this morning with two children aged 8 and 5 years and had a great breakfast. The staff were lovely as usual and the breakfast choices were great but what made it really special was a wonderful and charming Santa! The children were enchanted by him as were the adults and we all agreed that it was a lovely start to December. The children were given lovely gifts and Santa was very welcoming to all.If you have young children then you should have a weekend breakfast here before Christmas as it will guarantee a great start to your festivities!

Slow service, dry food and the salad bar was terrible. The salad was old and cut terribly. I would avoid this place.

Over the years I've been going, I've experienced a decline in standards

I booked a table for my daughter's birthday for 5 in August and I requested a birthday cake as they advertise on their website "special birthdays". Three days later when we arrived we were rudely told by the reception manager that they don't do birthday cakes and they don't have candles either to put on a dessert as a substitute. We had travelled a distance to come to this restaurant and we were hungry so we decided to give it a go. The food was average and scampi was too salty. We complained to the duty manager who was not helpful but liked arguing. So it was a bad experience that ruined my daughter's birthday. I complained to the MD who passed it onto a junior manager who was rude and offered a measly 5 desserts as compensation but then forgot to send vouchers. We won't be going to Harvester ever.

Visited here a couple of weeks ago, and my how it has changed used to be a regular in here about 3 years ago when living in area, Salad bar still ok. But no freshly made rotary/ barbecue chicken like they used to do, just a plain chicken breast, nowhere near as tasty,,and as for the jacket potato dreadful, must have e been stood there for hours, skin well over done and chewy/hard. Thought meals were expensive, for the size of portions, and especially quality of the Food! Sorry to say will not be visiting again. No wander there were hardly any customers in there!

Given the price of the set evening meal £14.99 for 3 courses I didnt have particularly high expectations. The mushroom starter was good although not really as descibed on the menu as there was no creamy sauce. The original combo main wasnt great. The chips were luke warm and the corn on the cob was too watery to eat, ribs and chicken were tasty though. The rocky horror sundae was nice, I was just too full to finish.

We have been to lots of Harvesters and this rates as one of the best.

This is a 3 star because of the service we received (Joel is the name on the receipt) who was was friendly, welcoming, not pushy, but the food was disappointing and I think we paid a lot for what we got. Couple of examples, Garlic prawns were oversalted and low on garlic, sauce was glutinous. Spicy burger was not spicy and had no kick to it. Chips were good and hot. We could have eaten at another well known chain more cheaply but thought we’d have a change.

It is what is it, a Harvester. But, with a well trained and friendly team who go above and beyond. Never had any complaints.

Haven’t been here for about a year or so after I found the food and service to have gone downhill. Visited on the off chance as we had a groupon voucher. Portions were good and salad was fresh, and for £20 it was a great steal and has tempted me to come back again.

Met up with family, enjoyed a relaxed meal, food was really good, fresh and quickly delivered. Service was exceptionally friendly annd efficient.. will be returning to a lovely, reasonable place to eat and spend some quality time with family.

We made a booking online and phoned to confirm. The booking was for my daughter's birthday and father's day. When we got there we spoke to Sharif, the manager, who made the booking and he said the table was not ready. You can imagine my shock and dismay as we had made arrangements. No explanation was forthcoming. I believe he must have deliberately overbooked but knew that as it was father's day it would be busy so should have allowed for this. He evidently did not. It took 40 min approx to start seating us and we sat in two different areas at three different tables. This was not what we planned or intended. Family is very important to us and as we all work we treasure the moments when we can be together. We were offered nothing by way of compensation and we did not enjoy our meals as we have done at Harvester in the past. The only small saving grace was from our server Matt who did his best to support us and helped us in any way he could. I do not feel that I can bring my family back to your establishment for fear the same thing will happen again. Others had the same issues yesterday and I believe you may well have lost their custom too.

I have been visiting this particular branch for over 30 years, I have put up with the rudeness and arrogance of the Manager previously, but to be rude to my mum who is hard of hearing and then to me for serving me the smallest "full rack of ribs" I have ever seen is disgraceful, he agreed to replace them with an even smaller rack of ribs and failed to understand that anything less than 10 bones in a rack is a cheater rack and that I felt cheated. I also do not like his attitude towards his staff. I will not be returning to this place until the Manager has been replaced. The staff are wonderful as always.

The unlimited salad that comes with every main course is brilliant. The hot food was fantastic as well. We tried the Roast chicken and also the Haloumi cheese which was both good. Friendly staff as well.

I went out for an evening meal with a friend

We’ve been visiting this Harvester for at least 25 years and although there’s been the odd glitch we’ve always returned. Our most recent visit was the best yet food wise. I had the chipotle bean burger and my chose the butter chicken and both were cooked to perfection. I can honestly say it was as good or better than you’d get in an expensive London restaurant. The chef that cooked for us that day really knows what they’re doing. On the down side the place wasn’t busy but the service was quite slow... but it didn’t spoils the experience.

Dont bother to waste your money. Your better off going somewhere much more classy.

Had Christmas day lunch here with my 5 family members. Had a 4 course meal which was £44 per head adult, £22 per child. Food was nice, well priced for Christmas day! Staff were attentive and friendly.

I have eaten here a few times,in fact I have chosen to celebrate my mother's 60 th birthdays here.Food was good,so as service.I like the atmosphere of this restaurant and always enjoyed every time I went there.It is also good for breakfast,went with children an they love that they can go around and serve themselves.There is lovely unlimited salad bar,which is also very appealing.I can only recommend.Sometimes I just pop there for a lemonade,or drink with husband or kids...recommended!

Felt it necessary to write a review regarding this Harvester, I have been going here for many years now and I can recommend both its main and breakfast menu.

Never really liked Harvesters until I came to this one. Lovely staff as always. Couldn't eat all my meal this time which was the Bog boy burger coz it was too big but was very nice. The lady who served us had served us before and was really lovely, my 8 month old daughter liked her aswell. Looking forward to our next visit.

Stopped here for a early night and was very happy the restaurant is very tasteful nice and comfortable I tried the pork belly which was delicious,I overdid it with the salad which is self service and I ordered garlic bred ,I struggled to finish the meal and Iam a big eater ,will return .

This place is always a good ‘go to’ for a last minute outing!

Beetje een groezelig restaurant en eten is niet echt van goede kwaliteit. Meer een veredelde snack bar. Weinig smaak aan het eten. Bediening is super aardig. Ik hou niet van voetbal dus dan is het jammer als dat luid door de pub schalt. Maar als je er wel van houdt, dan is het een prima locatie om met de locals lekker footie te kijken.

Had the Bird Surf and Turf from the new menu today and can highly recommend this dish. Service was excellent and I found the staff extremely polite. Had a quick glass of wine in the separate bar area and the wine was cold and the glass was clean. Must also mention the toilets were spotless.

Visited recently with friends and very disappointed with menu and service. Sent a complaint email off and got no reply to date. Says it all really.

We came here with our 2 young kids and it was really easy, clean and the food was good. Harvesters all seem pretty standard and this is as happy as the next! Friendly staff and no complaints!
