Didn't taste as nice as it looked, and it didn't look as good as the pictures. Everything is smaller and tastes quite bland, some stuff just tasted of ginger and nothing else for some reason. To top it off, half of each of the meals was missing

I had a meal here a week ago my mum ordered a chicken and my daughter ordered a veggie burger she didn’t realise it was a veggie burger but we told a memeber of staff and she said “oh well that’s her problem” which was quite rude my mum ordered the chicken she found a bit of blood and we told our server and she said it was just a vein but why was it in the breast of the chicken not the greatest service and the food was ok could come back not sure

we went to this Harvester in Sovereign Harbour Eastbourne with trepidation, as been before a long time ago and it was not good. We were pleasantly surprised since being updated the service, food and atmosphere have massively improved. Although the restaurant was very busy, our server Freddie couldn't do enough for us. We were quite a big party 7 of us and he was checking everything was OK getting us extras etc. on the whole a great time was had.

Thought we would pop here today for a salad bowl and a drink, was handed massive great bowls before paying- which I questioned as we always buy the salad bowl at the one in Polegate and it’s the smaller bowls as a side dish- was told they are only if you have a main meal where the side salad is free that you have the smaller bowls. The guys seemed rather stressed and trying to do a lot of things a once, I didn’t want to be “one of them customers” so I just shrugged off the difference in price to usual and went to get the salad. Went to the salad bar it looked destroyed, hardly anything on display, everything looked dirty and the dregs of what was left looked very unappealing and like it had been there for hours. I never usually complain but there was honestly nothing there worth eating. I asked the stressed looking guy that already served me earlier if I could cancel the salad as there was not much there- to get a very quick answer back: “I’ll get them to fill it up, be 2 mins”. When it was being filled up the guy with the glasses at the front of the door muttered “there we are all nice and full” making us feel like we’d asked them to chop their arm off! Not a very nice experience and the salad bar (when it was filled) didn’t taste like it used to, the sauces had different sauces mixed in where they hadn’t been replaced and there was no potatoe salad- I don’t usually complain but I felt for the guy who seemed stressed and appreciate they may have been short staffed but overall felt the customer service was impacted and the quality of food is non existent- won’t be wasting my money here again. I hope the man who served me gets another job soon as he seemed rather fed up.

What to say about the harvester. They have recently updated the internal decor and it looks good. They are always busy and from what I can tell at times a bit under staffed, just accept that there will be a bit of a wait. The food is always good including the salad 🥗 bar. The drinks have a good variety and for the kids and or adults they have a bottomless soda station to make your own drinks. There is an outside seating area which in summer is awesome. Really good one to visit. On the weekends for dinner make sure you book.

Just had lunch today. Had the Ribs. Worst rib meal I have ever had at the Harvester. This was the only place I have ever eaten ribs as they used to be so good. Just to say the ribs must have come off the smallest pig out. So little meat on the ribs. The ribs are so much shorter in length and width than they used to be. They where so dry I had to put a lot of sauce on to give the ribs taste and to get the little bit of meat down. Will never recommend the Harvester to anyone again. Not value for money 🙁

Our visit was a massive disappointment. My husband has a food allergy and specifically ordered a dish that does not contain his allergen. He was asked to review the ingredients himself, but had to scroll through a lengthy list of every item on their menu using a tablet. Later, he was also asked to sign a document regarding allergies, which staff said was for their protection. He came to eat food he knows is safe—not to navigate legal disclaimers. Another staff member then approached to say they’d be filing an incident report and requested his name, making the entire experience feel more like an interrogation than a meal. It felt intrusive and unnecessary. We came to enjoy a meal, not to be subjected to such procedures. To make matters worse, they were so preoccupied with their paperwork that they forgot to bring our drinks and cutlery. The salad bowl was dirty and had to be replaced. The food itself was mediocre at best. The chips were undercooked, the onion rings were stale and the drink was served warm on an especially hot day. We spent £50 and honestly regretted it. This experience completely soured me not just on returning to the Eastbourne branch, but on Harvester as a whole.

We went on Chicken Tuesday. Time 7.15 pm It wasn't busy perhaps as straight after the bank holiday. Waited for nearly 10 minutes at the "wait here to be seated" area. I could see 3 members of staff. 2 servers and 1 in the bar who was older and not in uniform so assume managerial. No acknowledgement from anyone to say " be with you shortly" eventually greeted. No apology for the delay. Taken to the table and given menus. Given time to look at menu but no one mentions chicken Tuesday and no promotion on tables. I asked to be told only available on the app. Downloaded the app and ordered. Food reasonable but nothing to rave about. Servers pleasant enough but not attentive and interpersonal skills basic even robotic as if they are told you do this you ask that but no real training. We asked for bill and paid but the server knew I downloaded the app but never asked if I wanted to collect the stamp. Atmosphere non existence. Overall no complaints but nothing to give praise or recommend so if you just want an average meal served by average people in an average atmosphere this will suit you. Not for me sorry.

Absolute chaotic mess! We decided to have a meal here after hearing they had a refurbishment. Came in at about half three and got served by three different servers and all of them seemed to have no idea what was going on! could hear two waiting staff arguing about who should be doing what. Why they would feel the need to keep swapping tables with each other is beyond me. Completely unprofessional and clueless! They should have saved the money spent on the refurbishment and spent it on staff training instead as they clearly don't have a clue. And it was clear that the other tables around us all felt the same.

We were seated just inside the door. Lots of foot traffic passing our rable. Meal for three. Well. Two arrived after a long wait. The third arrived 12 minutes later. The gammon was rubbery, the egg white not properly cooked, peas non description. Chips soggy and cool. Not good as unable to eat this meal. The whiteley bay scampi is not hot, just warm. Tasteless, again chips cool. The burger was eatable. Once, this was a good place to eat. This is the second bad meal we ordered. We will not be returning

NEVER AGAIN! So we was looking forward to the newer refurbed venue & new menu from Harvester at the Habour in Eastbourne. Arrived at 4.15pm and didn't get any food until 5.45pm. When we did get the food is was absolutely appalling!!!! OH steak was dry and overcooked,chips dry coleslaw dry! This was replaced with a chicken dish but still very poor!! Being vege I had to choose a starter and 2 sides as the vege main options were poor. £6.99 for 2 tiny tacos which had 3 tiny pieces of some type of plant based chicken called "Garden Gourmet" it was thee worst vege thing I have ever seen eating out. I was not edible! The side mac n cheese was a tiny portion too and been microwaved. The staff serving were not attentive and need more training in hospitality and how to look after customers. The manageress admitted that our waitress went home and the one taken over was on a break and our food was left on the side. This is totally unacceptable 😤 The ladies toilets were disgusting also and clearly not being checked. We will not be returning! Harvesters are franchised so sort it out owners before you have no customers!!

Amazing new menu! When we entered we were told that there was a half an hour delay on food. However once we had ordered it didn't take nearly as long as I thought. The food was good quality and there was more than enough options to choose from. Service was lovely and our waiter Jeorgia was really friendly and helpful. Ultimately a really enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend!!

If you want breakfast out in Eastbourne, don't go to the @HarvesterUK at the marina. We went as a family group to try to repair the previous weekend which was ruined by a family health crisis, which had spoiled my granddaughter's birthday treat. We sat down at 9.45 and waited 20 mins for somebody to take our order. None of it was out of the ordinary, it was basic breakfast stuff so nothing too difficult. And there were only about a dozen tables occupied, so they weren't rushed off their feet by any stretch of the imagination, and we'd booked so they were expecting us. It took at least another 20 mins for our drinks to arrive, possibly longer. The two toddlers in our party of 9 people were doing really well but we had to keep giving them the odd biscuit to keep them going. Granddaughter opened a present which also helped pass a bit of time. But by 11.15, a full 90mins after we'd arrived, there was still no sign of our food, so we upped and walked out. While we were there they were carrying in a load of rotisserie chickens, on the big skewers, which they dropped on the floor with an almighty clatter and then scooped up and took hurriedly into the kitchen, so if anybody was picking bits of hair and cr@p off their plate later, more fool them for ordering the chicken. It was the worst restaurant experience I've had in a very long time. No concession was made for the well behaved toddlers we had with us. No staff were hovering making apologies for the delay. No offer of a free drink top up by way of goodwill. Nothing. How do they stay in business??? All 3 couples in our party have vowed never to return for even so much as a coffee, and everybody who responded on my Facebook post to a local community group said we were fools for going there in the first place, and sadly I have to agree with them. The sooner this place shuts the better. Get a decent restaurant there instead.

We visited the Eastbourne Harvester on the 15th March 2025. Despite being busy we could not fault the staff in there mainly Kane he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, had a laugh with us and constantly kept us updated with our order. While waiting for our meals we noticed the member of staff that was looking after the salad bar his name was jason and he was very thorough and took pride in keeping it clean and topped up at all times. Lastly the actual chef his name was Dan i was watching and he maintained a level of calm even though it was extremely busy, The food was absolutely wonderful. These 3 are credit to your restaurant and we need more people like this!!!

Great food, friendly staff, good prices. Big seating areas but....it makes me feel like i'm back at school, or in a hospital canteen. You have to take a tray and walk along and they dish it up for you and you find a seat.

We ordered chips from here yesterday. We ordered 3 large as well as all our other bits. Large usually comes in a large box, only to find we had two small boxes, and one large box. The large box was only half filled with chips and the other side sat a fish cake. We paid £26 for this. The chips were warm and soggy, and had to be microwaved, and were collected so should have been hot. Not happy at all!!! Totally mugged off. Ordered a few times before and they were lovely and filled up in a large box. Couldn't be bothered to take them back as kids were hungry.

We always have a great meal at Pizza Express, the food always comes out correct, very tasty, hot and freshly made. It was the same again this time. All the staff we encountered on this visit were brilliant. On arrival (we were a tiny bit early) our table wasn’t quite ready, but the gent who did the meet and greet at the front desk, (with the Pokemon tattoo) guessed who we were, and told us they were prepping our table and it would be ready asap. He kept us informed in a really enthusiastic and caring manner. The lady who served us for our meal was so pleasant and friendly. When she brought the food out she remembered who had ordered what, and both members of staff were so lovely to my 8 year old son. They both seemed to love working there, and nothing was too much trouble. We had a great experience as usual! At the end, the lady brought our receipt and ensured I knew how much money I had saved with her various offers and discounts. The name on the receipt is ‘Leigh T’. If that is the name of the lady who served us, then the managers need to recognise how wonderful she is, she is a really lovely member of staff and her customer service skills are always fantastic. I am hard to please when dining out for food as it can be very expensive, and disappointing when the food comes out wrong, or cold, or if the service is bad, but I can definitely praise the staff for the service and the chefs for the great food! We will be returning!
