Dreadful, salad bar was virtually empty. My grandsons burger came out in a burnt black bun had to send it back. My gammon was tasteless and tough, the onion rings undercooked and squirted out fat when tried, peas were washed out and everything tasteless. Other Harversters are much better so will avoid this one totally.

Callum was really kind and looked after us well. The food was nice and the atmosphere we also had a voucher which made it even better

Waited 45 minutes for drinks from ordering them. Garlic bread was unappetising to look at and wasn’t touched by the diners. Cheese plopped on top was congealed. No tartar sauce for the haddock & chips.

Food & drinks here are good, staff are great but avoid staying at the Travelodge Havant Rowlands Castle behind this Harvester, you'll be very disappointed. The Harvester drinks were great, service was really good. Food was really good too except one incident where a side offering of baked potato was presented with a black & off potato, which the kitchen could clearly see when they put it on the plate. It was end of service for lunch & I think they didn't care anymore. Thankfully the waiter organised an alternative side dish for me, before the kitchen staff packed up. Despite this, I really really liked the food & ate here several times.

Very good you have a gem in callum nothing was to much trouble for him with us and with people around us. Would go back just for his service

Great food and service from Kathy. The choice was good, the food was lovely and arrived promptly. Really added to our stay in Portsmouth. We had dinner the night before and again, good service and more interesting menu than us often found. We can definitely recommend the skewers- and the waffles!

Fantastic location, amazing service and mind blowing food. went as a group of 4, we all had different meals and all were cooked to perfection.. whilst the restaurant was packed. Free refills on drinks, unlimited visits to the salad bar, good music.. just such a resounding success of a restaurant. Normally i dont agree to tips, but everyone in our group including myself were more than happy to contribute to tipping for the really enjoyable experience provided. 10/10 5*s

OK in all respects but all very average , the food we had wasn't hot and took a while to be served , the unlimited salad bar offering wasn't good most of the options were empty , possibly not helped by some very greedy diners who appeared to scoop up everything going , however, the dishes were not replenished during our stay. Ok for a quick meal but wouldn't choose for a couple quiet night out.

Went on a busy night over the bank holiday weekend for the first time and I have to say I was really impressed! Despites massive crowds, the food was great and salad bar restocked. Jenn (the shift supervisor) really worked so hard amongst the other staff to feed the hugely busy restuarant. A++ to all!

Maybe the management of this Harvester needs to look at the decor. Sadly it's looking a bit 'down at the heel'. Peeling paint, dirty carpets, toilet area needs a good bleach or certainly the flooring needs changing.

Visited about a week ago as part of a large party of 10 or 12 for a surprise birthday party. Not been here for at least 40 years - it has changed a little and much better than the old, boring place it was in the 70s even if it is now a chain restaurant. Staff very tolerent of our staggered arrival and served the food quickly. Comprehensive menu that should appeal to most tastes and food arrived warm. Prices are quite reasonable as well. Even on a mid week day, it was comfortably busy, but not crowded. Just 2 negatives: First the description of "Portsmouth" in the name of the place is a bit flexible as it is about 15 miles from the edge of Portsmouth. And second - be **Extremely** careful if arriving by car. The car park is in a terrible state with huge and deep pot holes that will brake suspension at anything above about 1 mph. Really needs to be sorted without delay.

Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Burger with sweet potato fries. All cooked perfectly. Really excellent service from the guy who looked after our table. Didn't even hassle us to drink up. I wish I could have left a bigger tip.

Superb place in a lovely village had a great meal

Starters ok but battered mushrooms mediocre and oily; burgers good but chips cold & mushy - but replaced with fresh ones. Very friendly & helpful service. My children enjoyed the desserts! Be careful of very large pot holes in the car park.

Nice place to come some.of the staff are friendly some don't really want to speak and then the food came out look nice but wasn't cooked properly. Staff didn't want to do anything or offer to sort it

Service was good. Food was bland,no seasoning,very disappointing

Overall we had a fairly good experience. Callum was very attentive & polite. However, the glasses had finger marks on, the table appeared clean, but felt a bit sticky. It didn't appear to be overly busy, but there were quite a number of tables that needed clearing & cleaning.

Quite a nice pub with a huge selection of meals on the menu and the food was delicious. The decor of the ladies 🚺 loo could do with refreshing and the car park is full of potholes.

It is a shame I have to leave this review. Me and my partner come here regularly by ourselves and have never had a problem with the staff or the experience. Today, we came along around 2pm with our 3 kids, as kids eat for a pound. On arrival, we were told we had to go find our own seat in the bar area which was extremely warm, as they had bookings. However after collecting my refill drink and seeing how many tables were empty was disgusting. It was so quiet and had air con in that area. It felt as though the staff treated us so different because we had 3 young kids and forced us in the bar area rather than the restaurant area to be waited on and when I ordered at the bar, the way the staff spoke to me was blunt and rude and quite frankly completely different to when me and my partner have visited by ourselves for evenings. Photos to show how empty it was and how empty the car park was when leaving. So much for all the bookings.

Loved it! All of the staff were very friendly and happy to help in any way. The food was delicious, and Kathy (the waiter) was very enthusiastic, very helpful, and likeable! Service was fast and polite. Highly recommended for young children as the food can be quite small for the children's menu.

Emily c was looking after us today and was lovely. Happy and very friendly wish all waitresses was like her.

Food was lacklustre and flavourless. The dirty fries were sloppy and the rotisserie chicken was pink and unappetising. Kids pizza came out rock hard and burnt, sweetcorn was clearly microwaved and soggy. The salad bar was good but the rolls were stale. Server was very friendly though.

Callum was friendly attentive and helpful. The food was great all round.

Dined on 19th July in the evening. Callum was our server and both him and the manager were brilliant.

As always a great meal out. Emily C was as usual amazing and always looks after us. Clearly becoming a regular as Emily remembers my daughter’s Mac & cheese, chicken goujons and garlic bread. Will be back again soon

The food was good. We did the have to wait long and even got a table straight away despite not booking and it was the day of the Euru final football. Callum our waiter was very attentive and generally a lovely man.

Been here before on several occasions and enjoyed our meals. Today couldn’t book online so turned up and greeted by a pleasant member of staff who said only tables in the bar area were free. Same menu, just order at the bar, great. However, the chap behind the bar didn’t seem over enthusiastic but meal ordered. Placed at 6:14pm, following a bowl of salad, with little choice at the salad cart, our starters arrived 20mins later, average. After another bowl of salad, salad cart still nothing to be impressed by it took another 45mins for our main course to arrive. Again pretty average. I appreciate it being a Saturday evening but I do find it strange that those seated in the bar area appeared to wait for their food longer than the restaurant side, or appeared too. Bar seating area was dark, dingy and needs updating. Mismash of tables and seating and tbh, didn’t come across as clean . Sad to say, I will be trying somewhere else before heading back to this Harvest

Emily C was our server and she was fab. She was very busy but was attentive and upbeat and chatty. Our food was fine but Emily made our dinner much more jolly.

They need a better variety of non flavoured cider.

Unfortunately 4 out of 6 had dreadful diahora that evening after eating here3 had the same meal one had different.

Kathy was very helpful with showing me how to use the app and was a pleasant experience!

Server Kathy was amazing! And speedy service. But very poor salad cart selection as we were there just before closing (over 2 hours) and so nothing more was being brought out! Most had scrapings but no pasta, potato salad or bread rolls. And ‘soft’ crispy onions….they only had a table by the door available as was so late, did request to be somewhere else before being seated but other sections of the restaurant was closed. My order of chicken stack was tasty. Just not a lot of choice for my partner who’s vegetarian. But we knew that before going. The sundaes though are an absolute rip. No longer that delicious ice cream it’s £7.50 for some cheaper stock was very disappointing. We also got to enjoy a guy hoovering the salad cart as we finished are dinner, so felt very rushed. Over all a standard harvester just don’t go after 8pm I guess on a Friday night.

It's was okay the food was not as fresh as expected and it's a lot of money for the food quality

I love this Harvester and really enjoy going. I'm remembered as I have a gluten intolerance and go regularly. The staff are lovely especially Jules and Elsie who always give a warm welcome.l and we enjoy a bit of banter! It is frustrating however that the ice cream machine hasn't been working for the last three occasions as the sundae is the only dessert I want from the gluten options and the machine hasn't worked well in months. But instead of buying a new one it always seems to be waiting on a part or being fixed. I think they should just buy a new one to be honest! The alternative soft scoop is nowhere near as nice. The staff are always very apologetic about it and the quality of food is very good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant but be aware sundaes will probably be off the menu!!

This is the 2nd time I have popped into this Harvester for a lunch. Plenty of car parking but remember to put your registration number in the system. Clean and tidy interior relatively quiet at lunchtime on a Monday. Salad bar was well stocked and fresh as was the bread pile. Food was quick to arrive and was well cooked and tasty with a good size portion. Staff were attentive. On both visits I found Esme particularly helpful, friendly, and attentive. On this visit she recognised me from before, asked how I was and what I had been up too. A wonderful welcome considering it was sometime since my last visit. If you want to know what excellent customer focus is just watch Esme in action. Thank you, Harvester, and thank you Esme.

Usually a great place to go... Popped in tonight and showed to a table. Went to order food and told that kitchen had closed 10 mins earlier. No one warned us that the kitchen would close 5 mins after we were shown to a table 😞

When for father's day lunch, Kathy our waitress was amazing 👏. Friendly, fast and professional. She's an asset to the company.

Visited harvester. Placed my order and it arrived before I had paid the bill at the bar. The food was missing gravy which I had to chase twice. The chicken was well over done and by the time I got the gravy the whole meal was cold. I didn’t even get chance to visit the salad bar which is the whole part of visiting a harvester!
