Harvester in Chelmsford

Had a very enjoyable lunch here today with 5 friends. The food was very good, and the service was amazing. Good prices and we used a discount code. Very nice experience, which we all hope to do again, soon.

Popped in during the week for some early dinner with my mum. Kelly who served us was so polite, friendly and lovely. The food came so quickly and was delicious so credit to the chef also. Great value for money too!

Very poor service from Kim the food was really poor from the starter to the main and we did complain,on the other hand the restaurant was clean and the parking was okay but I will definitely not be returning.

Faye is an absolutely great server. Always serving with a smile and goes the extra mile. An absolute credit to the team xx

Was amazing birthday meal came for my 21st and patsy (aka Whitney Houston) served us she was so lovely and pretty and helpful and attentive x she brought lots of hot honey which made my 21st unreal and also brought a little bit of ice cream and a candle which made me feel so happy 😁😁😁 will definitely be back for more yummy!!!

Great selection of breakfast items, good service and tasty food. Service was quick and friendly, tea & coffee was unlimited.

We came here and sat here with 3 dogs in the garden had some really lovely food and they was great at responding with questions about allergies. The dogs also enjoyed their food that they had too.

More variety on the salad cart would be good but what was there was fresh and the main meals were good. Service was excellent.

It was busy when we got there and was disappointed to dowcovwr that you couldn’t mix and match on the skewers anymore (used to be able to add a different one ie chicken and hallomi together) but that’s just little preference. Our server Aymon (sorry if spelt wrong) spent the time to ensure our experience felt personal and special as three out the five of us were celebrating our birthdays (1 days between them all!) and took the time to make sure my 9 year old felt special as he filled up her new birthday present (Stanley cup) with water for her so she could have it during her meal (alongside her bottle of purchased coke of course!) Small talk about football and our birthdays made us feel special. I personally have worked in hospitality and I saw how he spoke to other members of staff and diners and felt it important to take the time to ensure he was recognised. The only reason I haven’t mentioned anyone else is because we didn’t need to speak to anyone else as our table was served attentively. Thank you.

Met a friend here for breakfast, I had the vegetarian sausage bap with hash browns & a cappuccino. No mocha option on the menu so that was disappointing! Food was very nice & it was busy in there .

I had the 1983 combo, (no idea what the relevance of the 1983 is). It cost £19.99 and it was awful, stupid little pot of fries which was half empty, 4 ribs with hardly any meat on, what little flavour they had wasn't like any ribs I've ever tasted before and NOT in a good way. The piece of chicken was bland at best and quite what the other little square items on my plate were, I have no idea, sweet and tasteless. I haven't been to a Harvester in a very long time and I doubt I'll ever go back to one. A thoroughly disappointing meal, save your money and get a takeaway from anywhere !

I ordered the single chicken burger and I couldn’t bite into it without the skin from the chicken breast coming along with it, really chewy and not nice to bite into! I thought it was the bacon fat that was stringy but it was the chicken skin. The chicken itself tasted cheap and was not enjoyable at all. However, my sister had the chicken skewers and said it was really good. The chips weren’t the best either. But our waitress was really lovely and couldn’t fault her. Shame about the food tho!

Joely, our waitress was excellent, very friendly, efficient, understanding of my daughter's needs (autism and anxiety) and was not phased by her undecisivise at all.

This is a large and welcoming restaurant, which was spotlessly clean and came with notably friendly, chatty service. It’s just a shame that the food, in this case 2 of the main course vegetarian dishes, was pretty poor. The pasta shells and what was supposed to be a tart but resembled more of a floppy, greasy pizza were pretty much indistinguishable and not in a good way. We enjoyed the salad bar (but suggest you steer well clear of the small dry rolls). If the food was as good as the building and the staff it would merit a much higher score.

Faye looked after us brilliantly - great service and good advice. Parking appeared to be a bit tight, but that's only because the restaurant is so popular, and with good reason! Good portions, cooked as requested. Complimentary salads and sauces, including my favourite - a hot Naga Chilli. Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to this Harvester. Would definitely return on our next visit to the UK.

My wife and I stopped off for an English breakfast, it was excellent. The food was cooked really nice. The waitress (Chris) was very pleasant, attentive and efficient. Good value for money. We'll definitely be visiting again.

We went for a family meal for 14 people which included 5 children. We had Andy as our server and he was ace with my boy who has autism, and very good with all the children throughout the evening. He allowed them time to think and had patience for them to order their own food. In addition, he looked after all the adult members, ensuring all food was correct and drinks were kept topped up. Thank you for a lovely evening of carnage with our lot 😀

We have been to this harvester on a few occasions. Andy has been our server everytime. Andy was very polite and was interested in our day and spoke to the children about their football interest which I thought was nice. The food has been very good and there's always been a great selection at the salad bar. We travel from Romford to go to this harvester

Had a really nice family breakfast with Kim greeting us at the door and Chris our server. Made sure we had everything we needed and allowed us to order a couple bits off the menu. Bob and Sam did a great job in the kitchen. All round great experience.

Nice, nice lunch very enjoyable

We had to wait a fair while for our food to arrive. I don't think we are the impatient type but we did ask how much longer it may be. I had a mixed grill. All of it was good except for my steak portion of the mixed grill, it was very small, all fat and gristle.. Even the steak knife didn't cut it. As I said, everything else was fine and the woman serving us was very good.

Came in this evening, girl on the front till said sorry fully booked. Then went outside about 15 empty tables. Comeback to query it she was now saying the kitchen is under so much pressure it's an hour wait for food ... don't like being lied to.

Service from Kelly was very good and food cooked by Sam was great. This Harvester is definitely one of the better ones in my opinion

Visited on Friday 26th and had a great meal,22 of us and no complaints..Our server Sharon was great and helped make our night go smoothly..She coped with the noise etc with a smile amd thanks to the Chef Aniket...

Service was good, restaurant was quite empty for a Saturday afternoon but I preferred it like that. I had the quater chicken and ribs combo but the chicken was a bit dry. Otherwise all was good, clean, tidy an polite staff.

We came here for dinner in a small group tonight. Kelly our server was fab, she was so professional and friendly and she was very patient with all the extra items we removed from our dishes lol. The chef Aniker provided great food too! Thank you Harvester.

Decent steak and chips. Gluten free requirement and glad chips were not done in the same fryer as onion rings. Menu was not too bad to understand for allergens. Great service. Highly recommended.

We had Kelly as our waitress and she was fantastic! Very friendly and polite even when the restaurant was busy. It was service with a smile that left us leaving with full bellies and happy faces too!

Enjoyed breakfast here with my husband, we were served by Chris (who I believe has been here for a number of years, as whenever I come for breakfast either with my husband or with friends she is always working.) She is alway polite and very in the ball, she asked if our table was ok, and recognised coffee maybe running low or did we need brown sauce on the table. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the fact that although the chefs could cook fried and poached eggs there was no scrambled egg available today. I have only recently started to eat an egg and the only way I do is scrambled.

Went on a Tuesday lunch and used the chicken Tuesday voucher on the harvester app, where you get a chicken dish for £8, the service and food was great, well worth the visit and we will be using more offers in the future

Service is always fab here. New refurb has really brightened the place up. Food is ok. There seems to be a big infusion of ‘spicy’. I don’t like spicy!! The harvester has always been a great British go to place for us. Where are the potato skins? Average £20 each incl sodas

Seems to have gone downhill a bit over the last few months. Very cramped area to eat and can be very noisy. Food often comes out only warm, not hot, with service sometimes being very slow, albeit when it's busy, that's understandable. Salad cart is often low on food stuff, with everything seemingly always mixed up. Increases in price don't reflect on quality. Shame, as it always used to be a nice Harvester 😕

Sharon was great to handle 20 of us and keep good spirit and patience. Food was good quality wouldn’t bother with the onion rings again. Appreciate front of house putting us together even though we made 2 different bookings. Very kind.

Great place for a large family Birthday lunch, food was well above average and we'll priced too. Free unlimited salad is a bonus.

Even though the restaurant was busy the staff were still very efficient, friendly and happy. Service was prompt and the food was good and good value

Had a farewell breakfast today, service was very good and food really nice. I think they need to reduce the amount of toast provided or at least ask if diners want one or two slices, this may also reduce any waste that may occur as far as the butter portions provides are concerned too. Really like the decor in here too.

It was amazing place .. The atmosphere in the restaurant , the food, the presentation is great. There is a buffet salad bar. There is a lot of variety in the salad bar. If you go without a reservation, it is almost impossible to find a seat. There is free parking and a garden area at the back. toilets are clean.
