Found the owner of the place extremely rude not only just to me and my friends but also to other customers also lots of unnecessary comments were made towards us by the lady and and we could also HEAR AND SEE!! Them talking about us behind our backs this made us feel uncomfortable so we decided to leave

Great fun on Saturday 3/8/24. Live singer was great. Nice that pub bothered to arrange entertainment.

Great pub, great food and really good staff. Went for an engagement party and the staff were so good at coping with over 50 guests plus the regulars! Hot buffet was superb, great pizzas, lots of wings, sausage rolls, prawns plus chicken goujons. Good bar prices too!

Popped in for a quick drink while the sun was out and had a lovely time. The inside feels like a really nice, cozy but clean pub and I love that they are dog friendly!! Super fast service at the bar and it was just over £10 for two drinks which I think is on par with other pubs in the area. Can't wait to go back for more 😊

Was in Chelmsford on family business.Popped in on way back to town centre although packed due to football the staff were very friendly and the place had a great vibe about it.Will definitely pop in next time in town.

I came here the other day for a rump steak i ordered it rare and chef Dylan cooked it brilliantly. Perfection would be an understatement i would recommend the food here to anyone who enjoys good food. The new chef Dylan is brilliant :)

I wasn't sure what to expect from this pub, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time. It was very welcoming, clean and organised. I also very much appreciated that dogs were as welcome (if not more !). We both had some lunch and it was delicious, the prices seem very reasonable. Bar staff were very friendly as well. Very nice modern decor, everything seemed clean and updated recently. Despite having a sky sports this didn't seem to dominate the atmosphere at least at lunch. If you want a relaxed and friendly environment that may feature a dog or two look no further !

Gave the atmosphere of a good old fashioned local pub

Had the pleasure of having brunch with my family at this beautiful friendly and very festive pub/reasturant,the food was outstanding and my nanna was realy happy to see a senior menu,she had fish and chips and mushy peas,followed by crumble and custard,presentation was as good as the food,we will be coming back in the new year.Thank you for looking after us,great team at the Eagle And Hind.Merry xmas and new year to you all.

Excellent food and service here, and would highly recommend this place. Christmas menu offered is superb as us the regular menu with food of varying sizes. Range of drinks available is also quite extensive.

First visit to this pub today and oh what a lovely place, fabulous friendly staff, great atmosphere, lunch just like home cooked, very well presented and so reasonable. Charlotte and Rachel were so welcoming, defiantly worth a visit, I will be returning very soon, thank you to all the staff.

The Eagle and Hind was a brilliant experience. I was visiting for a few days on business. The experience was nothing short of amazing. The staff made me very welcome. In particular Michele the bartender. Charlotte the land lady made sure I was looked after. Aaron the kitchen porter made sure everyone was attended to. The food for the price it is was, was delicious. Brilliant pub. Brilliant staff and brilliant food Can't wait to visit again.

Took my mum for a 2 course Sunday lunch. The food was delicious. We had a starter of breaded mushrooms and a roast beef and turkey dinner, all for under £16 each. Very good value for money.The service was quick, efficient and friendly and the atmosphere was just right. Well worth another visit.

Fun place to go on a Friday night. The wine was lovely and the atmosphere was fun. We ordered the halloumi fries which were tasty but there was too much sour cream. Good idea bad execution. Will go back though Updated review- HPE karaoke were there tonight (friday) and it was really fun! They were entertaining and really got the crowd involved.

The only pub in Chelmsford closing because it’s warm, ridiculous.

We were there for a good night of just having a few drinks. Had to wait over 30 minutes for a drink also the glasses were dirty. The tables were filthy and the floor was sticky and dirty. They were relying on customers to bring the empty glasses into the bar as the staff were too busy smoking outside. All of a sudden the atmosphere switches and the landlady was very unprofessional and rather than confronting the situation she walks away like a child.

Since the new owners took over it’s really made a drastic improvement to the community. It’s extremely friendly and welcoming by everyone with an extremely homely feel.

Came down to our local pub and ordered the Sweet Potato & Chickpea Curry. Absolutely delicious and Service was impeccable. Would definitely recommend dining at The Eagle & Hind.

Visited here last Friday with the family. There was 6 of us and the service was superb,such a lovely friendly atmosphere. The food was outstanding, so delish. The kids loved their burgers and even my mother in law was impressed with her tacos ( not easy to please lol). Hats off to the chef for beautiful, tasty food. I'll be back!

Really love it here. The new owners are very good and so welcoming. Only down side. The staff need to be trained with the correct information. We was looking forward to a nice Sunday dinner. Got there around 5.30. Menus and sauces was still out. Was told that the food was available until close. Got my son to join us. Then was told by a different member of staff that food shut at 5. Disappointing. Just need to be told the correct information.

Stopped off at this pub after a youth football game in the area. Great pub, very welcoming and great atmosphere! Bought some chips as a snack and they were delicious! A pub we would definitely go to again if in the area!

What a turn around, nice decor, friendly staff and the beer seems to be kept very well. I have not eaten here, but judging from the comments it seems very good, will give it a try soon. The atmosphere is much better and much more...

We had Sunday lunch for Mothers Day and it was very nice. This pub has been my local for 30 years and in that time it’s been good and not so good and we’d stopped visiting as it had turned pretty rough before it closed...

Met some friends for lunch. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and pub had a lovely atmosphere. . The food was lovely although unfortunately my gravy was more like jelly-still tasted nice though and I did eat it :) would definitely go back again

The Eagle and Hind is such a lovely place now it’s had its refurb and takeover. A warm and welcoming place to sit and watch the football, have some delicious food and even treat your dog to something off the dog menu!!

It was my daughters 18th birthday tonight and she bought her dad a drink - the pint was off! So bad you could smell it sitting next to it and they refused to give an exchange of any drink. ! Appalling service ! However queen bee gave us free drinks!

Visited this lovely pub with my colleague. Beautiful done up with an amazing manager and team. Felt so welcomed by Charlotte and her team. Food was pro.ptly served and was lovely tasting. We will definitely be back.

I came here with friends just for drinks so I can't comment on the food but I was impressed with it's traditional, relaxed atmosphere and the drinks were very reasonably prices. The staff were friendly too.

No chef, therefore no food Opens at 11 but door still locked at midday

Today Thursday 4th august 2022 we met up with some neighbours and decided to try the Eagle and Hind. We walked in at first I honestly thought there was a wake in the pub, this elderly rude man behind the bar never said a word to us as we approached the bar, we ordered our drinks He Never said a PLEASE OR THANK YOU. Out side the pub has a huge board advertising fresh food (what a laugh) we asked this so called barman if food is being served his reply NO. We all walked out and told another crowd that was going to enter the pub not to bother they got back into cars and went else where. As no food was available the people opposite to us ordered a takeaway and sat eating it in the pub. I would not and will not recommend this pub to anyone.
