Great service Geraldine the waitress was fantastic as always food good and new menu looks good clean and tidy as usual will eat here again

Party of 12 - We had to change the time of our booking, I called and was reassured time was changed. Arriving 15 mins before to set table for my daughters birthday, was told no your table isn’t ready and the person I spoke to didn’t actually change booking time. Lady went off spoke to manager, came back about 10mins later said ok, we will just clean the table at the back. We were eventually seated, waited and waited, friends joined us and still no-one came over to ask for a drink order. I had to call a member of staff, she nodded, server came over 5mins later. Our drink order was taken and then our food order was taken. Food started to come out, servers didn’t ask who ordered what they had, they just started scattering the food down the table. However my daughter ordered the 3 small plates as her main. When mentioning this is for them down that end, the server picked the food up again and said oh who is it for. No steak knives were provided for our steaks, also very importantly no one came to check if our meals were ok?!? No check back, no asking if we wanted or needed any more drinks, we had a few of us on other drinks other than self top ups. Server came to clear some plates, but no offer of any dessert order or any drinks etc?! I Went to settle the bill was give one for £214 - then I went to get phone, came back to see server took the bill from the bar and replaced one with one for £222 - I had a voucher so didn’t mind, but was a little confused with what was added?? I paid and left a £20 tip, I didn’t see the lady put it in a tip jar? Also thinking what did I actually tip for? Because no additional service was offered, no food check was done. I was told we can sit down and finish our drinks, no rush. However 5 mins later, still having half full glasses, the server came to our table saying my manager has asked that you have to leave the table as we need the tables now. I thought this was extremely rude, we had a couple of children and didn’t feel comfortable round bar area, so just left. There was other empty tables, we just would have liked 10 mins to finish our drinks, but I had paid, so we were told to leave the table. Don’t think it’s acceptable and maybe a better approach to checking on your tables would be appreciated. Staff member assuring me on phone booking had been changed, but not actually changed it! Service a let down no offer of drinks, having to ask to get first drinks order in, let alone being able to order any additional. No offer of dessert either. Complete let down and don’t think I will be returning to celebrate anything here anytime soon. Completely let down.

The usual food, salad bar and drinks however what made the experience for us was our waitress Mel, friendly and the two children even commented how lovely she was. She interacted with them and made their evening. Excellent at her job efficient and happy in her job. Great to see, we were not just faceless customers. Thank you Mel.

After a failed dining experience at a Marston’s yesterday, I’ve been pleasantly surprised today by the warmest welcome and service from Geraldine. She was absolutely lovely and very attentive. Thank you once again.

It was very busy when we first arrived so the drinks order took a little longer than expected. We were served by Emma who was very welcoming and bubbly. Apart from one dish the food was good. Unfortunately the vegetarian flan we ordered was slightly overcooked but still edible. Overall though we were satisfied with the meals and left stuffed to the gunnels! I can't say I've ever had a bad experience with a Harvester over the many years we've used across the country.

I met a friend for lunch on 6 March at 1200. The restaurant wasn't crowded and noisy for lunch time. Our waitress was a very nice woman name Geraldine. She greeted us, seat us, took our order and served us as well. That is the service I expect and enjoy. Geraldine provide amazing customer service throughout our meal. The food was great as well. I am happy to say my dining experience with Harvester Alwalton gets 5 stars!

Awful service. Told to wait 10 minutes just to get table in bar when it was almost empty as early. Was told to sit anywhere and she would be back in minute. 15 mins later went to ask why my ordered hadn't been taken. Told by grumpy bar staff you have to order at the bar. Ordered food with bar man. No smile no pleasantries nothing. Didn't feel welcome at all. Ordered steak and drink, he20 still didn't smile. Not a good start after a four hour drive! Dinner arrived 20 minutes later. OK but nothing to get excited about. Miserable waitress. Still no smile. They don't smile around here obviously. Hence will not be returning.....ever!!!

We were shown to the bar, as the restaurant was full. This was great for us as we prefer to eat in the bar. We were served by Martin, the barman, who was absolutely charming. Our beef sandwiches were very tasty but a bit cold. The salad bar was excellent - I went back for more. I did notice the the bar manager was being really helpful to everyone - particularly those with families. I can't fault the staff at this place. I would go back, especially as I like the salad bar feature.

Geraldine is warm and friendly and gave us wonderful service. Food was so tasty and served prompt. Being with a disability, requiring the use of a wheelchair, I wouldn't of been able to access the restaurant independently. Front doors ; I had to go in backwards. Having a wheelchair did change my experience due to this. Iv not needed a wheelchair until now and I pray I don't need to for long. But iv seen the world in a different way. Equally accessing the toilet, I needed help to enter in to the facility, had I visited as a solo guest, this would be an embarrassing situation for me. In conclusion, the venue didnt make me feel included or independent but food is amazing, we really loved it, service is wonderful and we would visit again because of that. As a party of 7 with 3 quite loud children, we are often concerned about eating all together in a restaurant but we were welcomed to our table and our waitress Evie made us feel at home. She chatted happily to the kids and got them colouring packs to keep them occupied. We had a groupon deal and a few issues with that but these were easily sorted with no fuss. There were two meals that were delivered to the table incorrectly and it was so simple and fuss free that the staff just said ok, we’ll get the replacement and it was done. No problem seemed to phase them and the food was delicious and fresh. All very happy diners left that building. Also, tips made on the machine get taxed so Cash tips are king!! Thank you very much for your kindness Evie!

We decided to book into the Harvester at Alwalton. Upon arrival there was a lovely log fire in the restaurant entrance which was great as it was cold and raining outside! The staff were very welcoming and looked after us extremely well. The salad bar was very well presented and all the different salads looked fresh and appetising. My friend had the chicken skewers and I had the Halloumi and chips with mushy peas. Both were delicious! We didn't have a starter or dessert but the main course was enough for us on this occasion. The service was quick but unhurried. The restaurant was beautifully clean and well presented and it was lovely to sit in a comfortable 'booth' and enjoy a relaxing evening meal. The waiting staff looked after us very well and I would highly recommend visiting The Harvester at Alwalton if you want good food that is well presented. Thank you for looking after us!
