Harry's Fish and Chips in Chichester

Just had a loverly snack on the way home, sausage in batter and Cod.... this is a good little chippy.

A review on behalf of two hungry dogs , the sausage was absolutely delicious. We managed to eat in two mouthfuls. My owners quite liked the fish and chips too , thank you very much

Had yet another great meal from here again as always a lovely atmosphere in the shop with the staff being pleasant and helpful and the new cheese and onion fryit/savoury is a nice improvement on the last one great to see a company constantly looking to improve the menu 😊

Fantastic large traditional fish and chips.

Harry continues to deliver with their crinkle cut chips and fabulous fish. Sometimes ordering online can be a bit hit and miss but walking in and ordering is no bother.

The home made crinkle cut chips were amazing and fish was excellent. Staff were friendly and the meal came fast.

This is an amazing fish and chip shop, I go here rather LA fish. More affordable too. The childrens meal box is cute, though it would be nice if they had more of a selection for them food and drink wise. Apart from that the fish is AMAZING, as well as the chips, the curry sauce, battered sausage. They also offer decent selection on their sides like a spam fritter, mushy pees etc. Definitely my favourite fish and chips.

I got here the other night just they was about to close but they still served me with the best cod and massive portion of chips I've had in a very long time definitely brought back childhood memories of going here with my mum years ago I will definitely return what fantastic service

I not happy with the service for here are first time order for here near going to order for here again not nice food the food was not nice it was to cold and chips was cold we own a caravan down here everyone don’t order for here I was sick the next day near again

Just bought a chicken burger and 9 chicken nuggets for £9.80. No salad, no sauces etc and generally very poor value for money. Would rather have spent my money elsewhere.

Just got sausage and chips and curry sauce….also THE best brownies I have ever had! Staff so friendly and obviously like their jobs, and it shows. Portions massive, so fantastic value for money…..def have the kinder brownies!! Also fantastic range for vegetarians….we will be back!!

Our first takeaway since moving back to Sussex and first time using Harry’s on Friday night,I really wanted fish and chips so waited for it at the shop ,large cod , large chips, jumbo sausage and curry sauce but the server squashed my fish into the chip box so by the time i got it home the crispy batter was all soggy and fish very flat so were the chips due to the oil from the fish ,was very disappointed as the best part of having fish and chips is crispy batter and crispy chips ☹️☹️☹️

Food was good, large selection of fish and chipshop classics. Can't fault it, I would recommend ordering in advance though as will reduce wait times. Good Chipshop 👍

I just got a large chips as was on way home. Haven't been here for a while as bad last time. Won't be going back all chips were little bits, some flat more like crisps, dry and hard. Ended up in the bin again. Such a waste of money 😞

Great food and excellent service. This was my first visit to Harry's. I ordered online. When I drove there, I was concerned about parking and wss so pleased to find that, although it's in an urban area, their small but sufficient adjacent car park had available slots. When I went in, I was pleasantly greeted and asked if I had pre-ordered, and that was it. Within a few minutes, I was on my way home with piping hot, scrumptious fish and chips for my wife and myself. Highly satisfied.

I've not eaten at Harry's yet but any chip shop that serves crinkle chips is alright by me, I'm a little over 8 years old but I still prefer them over normal chips. This might be the fact that each chip will have both a larger surface area to absorb vinegar and the potential to become even more crispy. I also take my hat off to you for taking the time to reply to each review posted here, and not even a stock reply but a genuine written by a human reply, even the bad ones get a nice reply! We place a large order every other week for all of our staff members every Friday and Adrian and Helen are amazing. The food is always on time and everyone loves it! Great service, great food!

Was really looking forward to some Fish and Chips but sorry this was an oily mess. Ordered Large Cod, Small Chips, Mushy Peas and 2 Pineapple Fritters. Fish was still wet and full of Oil, batter was a wet mess, Chips were passable and if had been packed separately would have probably been OK. Pineapple Fritters were full of Oil and ended up in the Bin along with most of the Fish and Chips. Mushy Peas were OK. Will not return as on reading previous reviews it sounds like this isn't just a one off.

My husband and I had large cod and chips from Harry's this evening. I can only say it was by far the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. Very large portions and freshly cooked to order. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Hands down the best chippy in Chichester! First time in a while ordering fish and chips and this was by far the best I've had. Everything was cooked fresh to order and it came with added salt and vinegar in the bag.

The freshly cooked fish and chips has to be the best in town. I have used Harry's for many years and always had good service and great food. Their new order online service works well and ensures freshly cooked food every time.

On holiday in Chichester found Harrys on Google. Fantastic chips, the whole meal was enjoyed. Delivery abit expensive but well worth it. Excellent fish and chip shop.

Harry's is one of Chichesters best kept secrets. Slightly hidden away to the East of the city centre is a traditional chippy producing top quality fare. Do give it a try.

Thoughr I'd give it a go as it's close to my house however crinkle cut chips are for 8yr olds! The burger is tasteless and the battered sausage tasted like old ladies (rosemary perhaps) Also telling a colleague that there's an app for ordering whilst I'm looking at the menu is just plain rude! I will be going back to La Fish from now on.

I had ordered a large order for my family via Uber eats on the evening of an England game, and only half of it turned up. I arranged with the staff at the time to go pick it up as it was difficult to get in contact with Uber to arrange a re-delivery, the order got sorted and I was given the extra 2 meals, however the food I picked up was not great wondered if it was reheated as the chips almost tasted like they were crunchy / dry - hard to describe. I had a choice of ordering from Harry’s today, and I chose to go elsewhere for now (there’s been some good reviews for one called the loft in lavant) so have started to try alternatives. It’s a shame because I remember going to Harry’s as a kid when the son had taken over the business and was trialling his battered snickers on me - they were always the best fish and chips in town … maybe a blip, but it’s enough to make me choose an alternative on this occasion.

So, went to this shop tonight and alongside the lady behind me in the queue, we were both asked if we had ordered online to which we both said "no" (we are both in our mid sixties). The man serving us told us that Fridays you had to order online but they would try and accommodate us in a very officious and demeaning manner and were TOLD to wait. The girl behind the counter then barked at me to stand over by the till. When I started to order the girl was so rude I cancelled my order and left the shop - the implication is that by serving us they were doing us a favour !! (incidentally -the lady behind me said she would have done exactly the same if she wasn't on foot !) Avoid these rude officious people - they most certainly do NOT deserve the business and I for one will never go there again (PS if i could have left 0 stars - I would have !!!)

Phoned to check about placing a large order and was told by the abrupt person who answered the phone to order online, probably no point in even bothering to answer the phone if that's how you want to lose custom. Have previously enjoyed fish and chips from Harry's - and previously left a glowing review for Harry's. Phoned and placed order elsewhere and don't plan on coming back. Plenty of other fish and chip shops in Chi.

Never use this chip shop again charged me £5 to deliver my food with uber eats the worst company. And the owner is as uaefull as a chocolate fireguard. BAD CHIP SHOP

Have enjoyed Harry's Fish and Chips for years. Was a little disappointed last week as it was not as good. Having said that the week before was superb as always. Still the best fish and chip shop around.

We ordered here for the first time. It was absolutely gorgeous. The fish was tasty very meaty and not fatty or greasy at all any of it the chips were lovely would definitely recommend the battered mushrooms and curry sauce. Would like to thank the whole team from prepping to cooking it was lovely. We 100% will be returning for the fish and chips meal best we’ve had in a very long time. I cannot speak highly enough of Harrys. We got fish and chips last week and were blown away. The cod was cooked to perfection, the batter was so light it melted in my mouth. The cheesy crinkly chips were again very tasty and the home made tartar sauce was the perfect accompaniment.We even tried a portion of onion rings which were again the best i've tasted.Great work to all the team, we will definitely be back soon.

The chips are the best in Chichester, for my palate. They are even good the next day re-heated.
