Went there with 12 other guest for my wife's 50th Birthday. Everyone's food was delicious and reasonably priced. Staff also very friendly.

Great and very friendly service, great atmosphere, had the best fish and chips in years! Prices are a bit higher than at other bars, but the quality and the bar decor justify it! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Newcastle.

Hi all at Harry's Bar... today, My 58th Birthday 24th May 2025, was my very 1st experience Dining at Harry's Bar.. my wife dined numerous occasions with her 9 besties... me never until today. I opted for Starter of Chefs Soup of day, Leek & Potato, was Delish, (could taste epic amounts of Celery, wait to be corrected) but could not put my spoon down, fer main, went for the Lobster Ravioli.... oooffff.. served in a frying pan ... my god what a dish, wish I had not ordered a starter soup, my belly was stuffed, ordered side of skinny chips, but was so full, couldnt finish... in terms of an Italian Pasta dish, & ive Dined in Italy over 10 yrs, never had this... its epic, anyone going to dine at Harry's has to try this... overall, atmosphere, ambience, decor, quality of service, quality & friendliness of staff, ... guys, .. its up there in greatness.... CONGRATS HARRY'S... I WILL BE BACK REGULAR FOR SURE!

v busy good food good service but the restaurant area was cold had to keep my coat on

5 staff, probably same amount of tables needing service. Staff avoided eye contact, forgot ordered drinks and poured chocolate sauce over dessert without asking

It's an ok bar. It's a bit more upmarket that some surrounding bars. There is a DJ at night and the music is alright. There is space to dance..it's very central to Newcastle. Downsides are it is really expensive for drinks. For example the £34 bottle of prosecco when the same bottle is massively cheaper bought from a convenience store. Even a 50 percent mark up is acceptable but it's just really expensive. I have had some great nights in this venue but it's a hit on the wallet. Staff are friendly.

Sunday dinner is a must here as well as fantastic cocktails

Really delicious food and it was great value as we had the set menu. The place itself was clean and well laid out with enough room to walk between tables etc. Would definitely come back here

Went for a birthday and the food was not very good. Had calazoni pizza and the filling was cold and inedible. It was not my choice of place to eat as it was very over priced for the quality of food and won't be back.

We came as a group of four. The food was very good and tasty — especially the prawn cocktail, fish and chips, and the steak, which was excellent. However, our experience was affected by the service. The waiter with pink hair had a bad attitude and made two mistakes with our order. He even argued with my wife, who is 70 years old, which was completely inappropriate and left her very upset. Normally, I tip generously (£30–50), but in this case, I chose not to leave anything because of the poor service. If someone cannot communicate properly with customers or show basic respect, they should not be in a customer-facing role.

The place to be. Very friendly service, delicious cuisine (soup, dish of the day, bruschetta, salad...Very tasty) cozy place. Val, the general manager, is very helpful and even speaks a fair amount of Dutch. We liked it so much that we went there twice in one day🙃

Disappointed. Do you not think it's your job to be more responsible. Why are you here. Why are you here. The manager is hidden away and leave's the staff blowing In the wind. By far the good review's come from customer's that attend once to see Newcastle and local alcoholic's. Next time don't even open. Just lie in bed and stay in your pit. Bar staff completely unorganized and unprofessional. The lack of responsibility was astonishing. The bar staff are just stood there waiting for something bad to happen and the first to run away and cry like a little baby. They're constantly on edge. It's not a calm environment at all. Certainly not the high standard restaurant they make it out to be. Do you not think it's your job to be more responsible. What we gonna do now. W.

It was raining and I slipped while having a smoke, bouncer wouldn't let me back in saying I was drunk, only had a sip of the drink I'd bought 5 mins prior. Not a great experience

We went in the afternoon so quiet bit pricey but average for a city pub.

Discriminated on the door for our age I believe. Instantly set the tone for my experience. It's 2025 and this is simply unacceptable. By the other reviews this is common very disappointing 😞

Great atmosphere to enjoy with my friends, however we were instantly judged and discriminated against for our youthful age and casual attire (quarter zip). Seriously set the tone for the rest of my experience at harry bar.

Superb meal and experience zero faults even the garlic bread was sooo tasty Raviloi might be a tad peppery for some as some of the reviews mentioned but it worked well in my opinion Fondant oozing perfectly simply delicious

In the middle of Feb 2025 I ate twice at Harry's in Newcastle. The hospitality could not have been better! They made no fuss over my food allergies and were one of the few places in Newcastle that could cater for me. Special shout out to Eldorado for the delicious food, and Magda and Valerio for their excellent service. Highly recommend and can't wait to visit again.

Friendly staff giving a quick service. I had mince and dumplings but unfortunately the dumplings were hard, dry and tiny. I think probably frozen. So I wouldn't have them again. I have eaten here a few times and always nice.

My husband and I went to harrys today for Sunday lunch, a bit disappointed as we were looking forward to it. You got 1 slice of meat which was thin and fatty and the roast potatoes had garlic on them, who puts garlic on sunday lunch roast potatoes. We fo like Harry's bar but not go back for Sunday lunch, s it eas not woth £16.95 and won't have that again, but other meals are lovely

The food was so delicious that I totally forgot to take a pic. I had the chicken supreme and I Reccomend it highly. My party had fish and chips, (5/5) Seabass with vegetables (5/5) and pizza vegetarian (3.5/5) the staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating and the atmosphere was good.

I can't believe Harry's bar charges £1.75 for a glass of draught soda water!!! My sister doesn't drink. I've never been in any place that charges for soda water!!! Talk about robbery !!

I regularly frequent Harry’s for the high quality service. It is immediately evident that the managers have worked in hospitality for many years. I personally request Valerio. When I want Italian food, I want to be served by an Italian! The carbonara is made the authentic way. What more could I want! On a Sunday, Sergio prepares my beef, just how I like it! Yorkshire’s are banging, and my favourite part of my diet lol. Above and beyond service! Gannin’ to monument? Get ya’self te Harry’s people!

Wanted a VIP date night hang with my partner….arranged a special surprise. Emailed Harry’s and I got a very quick response from the manager. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was efficiently dealt with and my table was ready on arrival. The staff were all great. Everyone from my gran, for her afternoon trip out, to my uncle for pre-match drinks, goes here. We are locals and my family couldn’t recommend it more. My partner was happy. That means I, the place, and the people did everything right. Thanks Harry’s for keeping me in the good books!

Food is really yummy amd the staff are super friendly. It's also a cute place for a date as the lights are dimmed, it creates a good atmosphere.

Been coming to this bar for years and was asked to leave by a member of door staff on Saturday night. He said I had already been ejected earlier, told him he was mistaken and I had only been in for 30 mins , which was corroborated by my friends. He wasn't interested in what I was saying and kept telling me to leave. I asked him to view any CCTV of this accusation, as this would have backed up my innocence. He didn't want to know and kept going on to me about leaving, I'm 64 year old man and I've never been thrown out of a bar in my life, I found this member of door staff arrogant, obnoxious,beligerent and ignorant. A simple check on CCTV would have solved the problem.due to this unpleasant experience I will not be visiting your bar again,

Well I can honestly say I enjoy everytime I go here..dj is absolutely fab, good selection of music for all ages , definitely recommend this place if your looking for a good night out 🤩

I am a regular customer, and this was my 11th visit to Harry’s Bar. The food has always been great, but this time, the experience was disappointing. The bald-headed bar manager was extremely rude and had little knowledge about the food and cocktails. He brought us the wrong drinks and even served a non-vegan pizza to my daughter, which was unacceptable for our family of eight. His lack of professionalism ruined our experience. Please address this issue because we won’t be coming back!

Normally go to this bar on a Thursday afternoon, good atmosphere. Good choice of larger, would recommend this pub. Only thing that spoils it is there is sometimes little flies that can be annoying.

Can't mark it for food as didn't have any, staff were excellent. And atmosphere... definitely the kind of bar if you like to chat and drink. If you want something livelier then go to bigg market etc.

Xmas party nite attended. V busy n tightly packed onto a long table. Food was great n service good too. Only downside on the night was the Accessible bathroom which was totally flooded n therefore difficult to navigate .

Was in last night with friends , staff were lovely especially victor the manger , he handled a situation with a awkward guy so professional he took his time to listen to us , what a lovely guy he is definately a credit to harrys bar 😀 and fab cocktails

I've only hit this bar two or three times since it opened. It's not my kind of drinking joint for several reasons, however it's a hugely popular place, looks pretty slick and for many it absolutely will be a favourite. On a Thursday night several days prior to Xmas it was banging out the drinks and tunes big style.

Cracking place a little expensive, but you're in the centre of the toon right opposite the theatre Royal. Place nip and clean, service excellent even though it was rammed full.

We always go to Harry's bar at Xmas time and are never disappointed it's a great place to go. I've just had pizza 🍕 and my wife has had whale 🤣 and chips, thanks Monika for first class customer service. We will be back 😋

Very disappointed we never got our food took far too long and we had to leave for theatre we arrived early for our table but an hour and a half later still no sign of food we had ordered not good yes was busy but a professional restaurant should be able to cope with it

Fantastic Food & Service with Excellent Wheelchair Access Visited Harry’s Bar just off Grey Street, across from the Theatre Royal, and had a great experience. The wheelchair access was excellent—big thanks to the manager for guiding us to the entrance on the other side of the street. The food was delicious and arrived quickly, but the highlight was definitely the desserts. The apple crumble was a standout—huge portion and absolutely delicious! Our waiter had a great personality and made us feel really comfortable throughout the meal. We’ll definitely be back!

We were welcomed by Natalie who was the perfect professional. Once at our table the service was outstanding,; the flambe at the table was superb. The atmosphere was great. What a fabulous time! Thank you guys! I highly recommend Harry's Newcastle, give yourselves a treat and go soon 😊

Waited almost 90 minutes for our fajitas. When it arrived the chicken was just pan fried with no taste, far too much onion n little few peppers. Not really impressed. Bfs double Jack Daniel’s seemed to be short measured as well. Wont be back for food. I’ll stick to the Bowes Incline always.

As retired ladies we meet once every 4 weeks and really enjoy our afternoon having lunch and a few drinks. But I have to say the blue chairs could do with a deep clean and tables are always sticky for such a good a restaurant it should be better but that said we will continue to meet and spend our afternoon at Harry’s. I have ate In the main restaurant and the bar menu my favourite in the bar menu is Cajun chicken sandwich.

this is usually my go to bar, however my boyfriend was not allowed in as he wasn’t wearing the right ‘clothing’. there was no dress code displayed AT ALL, and the only issue was that he was wearing a bodywarmer? unfortunately, it is nearing on winter and a lot of people don’t want to be out in just t-shirts. I do understand places have dress codes, but until this is displayed and specified, i find it rude to turn away service over attire especially when the drinks cost an arm and a leg. anyway good music, if dressed appropriately… i recommend.

Friends weren’t allowed in because he was wearing a body warmer. No dress code displayed outside. Ruined my birthday night out as this was the one place we wanted to go

Came here for a lovely meal with my girlfriend and we were very impressed. From the moment we walked in we were stunned by the lovely atmosphere and scenery of the restaurant. The service was fantastic with a super friendly waiter helping us throughout the evening, always trying to make us smile. Our food was tasty, and at a good price especially from the set menu. We had a great night! The only drawbacks I would say there were was that - although the food tasted great - the presentation of it was a bit lacklustre, in addition to this the price of the drinks was extremely high. I’d give Harry’s Bar a 8.5/10

Been having such a great time in Newcastle, came to Harrys on a recommendation. The bouncer was so incredibly rude we decided not to go in. I was vaping outside, he told me no vaping inside - which i was not doing i hadn’t even been inside yet - he then called me back before i even went inside to shout at me, ‘did you hear me’ with the most aggressive attitude and proceeded to meet me with aggression out of nowhere and we (a group of 2 girls) decided to not go inside. Avoid at all costs. Disgusting.

Stopped in for a drink on way to the station. Great little place and great choice of drinks.

Staff were really friendly, the sirloin steak was perfectly cooked in accordance with what I asked for. Nothing was too much for the waitresses. We had a really good night.

No the cheapest place but it's right there opposite the royal and the outdoor seating lends itself very well to people watching - in my case watching so dodgy scaffolding going up on the next building. It's big inside and I'm sure it's bouncing on a weekend.

Visited this cinema to watch the England-Spain euro final. It was great, the staff went above and beyond to keep everybody happy. Keep up the good work.

Dropped into this bar for a drink. Nice place but spoiled by one of the young girls who worked there relaying a story to colleagues loudly with swear words scattered through. Not good impression.

Good here looks fantastic it's a shame it was so disappointing, prawn cocktail tasted extra fishy as if the prawns had been sitting around to long. Iwe also had Sunday lunch (pork dinner) everything looked great when it was served and that's as good as it got , runny gravy ,the roast potatoes were over seasoned with garlic, Yorkshire pudding was lacking taste the roast pork tasted as if the slices had been re heated after roasting Most likely shallow fried. I was so disappointed the only good point about the meal was the young lady who served us , she was polite and nothing was to much trouble.

Coke was flat despite being took back. tasted like council pop at a lukewarm temperature. Wine was not distilled and the food was very overpriced. £15 for a burger is a bit extortionate

Very good. It's the second I have being there, & it was a very enjo6able experience. I went with a friend before the theatre. We had a drink at the bar first, then went to the restaurant. The atmosphere was very relax & most enjoyable. The service was good & our starter & main meal excellent. Nice, relaxing & very good all around.

Terrible experience tonight. My friend had a pull can ring in her satay chicken. The manager was abrupt and rude and said it hadn't come from the kitchen. I can ensure you it did. So badly handled by the manager. A pleasant apology and we will investigate would have been preferable. Also latte and cappuccino weren't hot.

I didn't have any food in Harry's bar but the service for my drinks was very good. The atmosphere was fabulous too, good music and a real good vibe.

Had went for drinks and found it ok but decided to give it a go for dinner, we all pressed the “Harry’s chicken satay” which was nothing like a satay but more like a Thai curry. Very little peanut taste. Unfortunately . Our food didn’t not come to the table for some time and when did come the chicken was so dry, ridiculously hot and tasteless, we believe it was sitting under the pass for too long, second to that I ordered a chili margarita which is one of my favourite drinks but this one literally tasted like a bottle of Tabasco sauce… no other flavour, so much so the waiter asked my why I was looking so red after two. Drinks of it…, enough said really… I would avoid so many better places

I always come to Harry's when in Newcastle and have never been disappointed until today. I cannot fault the food (quality/value) or the cocktails that we had. I was absolutely appalled by the way I saw staff being spoken to by (if I caught the name correctly) Christina We waited a while to have our food order taken, it was eventually taken by a polite guy with great service... Not long after we heard him being told to stay in his own section (or along them lines) The same waiter was helping a colleague up the steps with some crockery which fell, the one he was helping shrugged and pointed as if to just pass the blame. It just seemed as though that poor guy was being jibed at constantly. I work in hospitality and if I was spoken to like that in front of customers, I would have been absolutely mortified! Surely there's somewhere private for issues to be discussed. There were also two members of staff touching, well stroking each other and giggling which made me a little uncomfortable It definitely gave an unpleasant atmosphere to our lunch. Other than that, compliments to the chef.

Fantastic food at reasonable prices. Well worth a visit when your in town.
