Harris + Hoole in Mid Sussex

Shut down in September - but by November Tesco hasn't updated Google Maps or even its own website.

No answer. Wondering if this branch shut early as the franchise has lost a few tescos stores

We were visiting and we loved the cafe and the waitress who served us was very very friendly.

One star for the coffee second star for making it! This place couldn’t be anymore badly run if it tried.The staff stood chatting whilst there were dirty tables. More like a youth club than a coffee shop! Half the time it’s not even open! This needs a competent person to come in and trouble shoot!

You really need to get a manager staff to young not responsible enough nattering when tables need clearing.

There were only staff on service. The wait for hot drinks was to long. There were large amounts of of dirty cups and plates left on tables. The soft furnishing was thread bare in places The wall was covered in what looked like spilled drinks... All in all the place needs a make over.

Could be great, but extraordinarily slow service, preparing drinks out of the sequence that they were ordered. Very expensive for hurriedly made drinks served in paper cups.

Shabby threadbare chairs, dusty window sills, drinks took a long time & cold, even after re heating was still not hot. Cheery young man at the counter albeit he was calling out the wrong name.

The place is untidy & needs a bloody good clean. The floor is filthy & the furniture has had its day. Coffee tastes nice.

Great coffee and service with plenty of seating

This is a great place for a coffee and a bite to eat. The staff work very hard and are always cheerful. Short staffed at times it seems so opening hours are not always as advertised. But saying that I would recommend this place.

Usually a great place for a coffee...buy closed 45minutes before advertised time .. no notice to say why 😔

Toastie and a hot chocolate for 7.90. Ouch. Toasties was a bit runny, chocolate a bit lukewarm. I don't think I'll bother with the loyalty card. Closed next 2 days this week due to staff shortages.

My favourite local cafe.The staff here always make me feel welcome. A relaxing atmosphere combined with attentive service make it a 5/5.

Glorified Tesco cafe with slow service

Lovely decor, nice service and funky vibe but the soya cappuccino tasted very odd and the Lean, Mean and Green smoothie was properly horrible - kale, mint, lemon and banana blended is disgusting. No idea where the pineapple and ginger ingredients got to, which would have redeemed it I think.

The coffee here is much better than most other high street outlets, would recommend over the likes of Costa or Starbucks.

BEST coffee in Burgess Hill & surrounding areas, fab toasties and cakes and the most friendly staff!!

I go to Tescos mainly for the coffee here. Its great coffee if a little pricey. The staff are always friendly and serve quite quickly.

The best coffee outlet I've visited in terms of flavour, service and value. Highly recommended!

Food a bit expensive but great coffee, lovely staff and a nice atmosphere.

Best coffee in Burgess Hill ironically given the location, friendly staff and nice food too. Only downside is it's a touch expensive (that'll be hipster coffee places for you!).

This was my first time visiting a Harris & Hoole (my husband had been to one once before in London) and I was pleasantly surprised. We each had a "proper toastie" (which my husband recommended) and it was honestly the best cheese toastie I have ever had! It was so rich and creamy, so much cheese you needed to use a knife & fork. I also had a cappuccino which was really smooth and quite creamy. The staff were friendly, the cafe was clean and I liked the decor. The wooden chairs gave the feel of your own kitchen, and even behind the till looked more like kitchen than industrial drinks area. I would definitely choose to visit this chain again over Costa (which is usually my favourite) any day!

£3.30 for a latte and £2.15 for a mince pie! This is Tesco not the Ritz, it's cheaper to get a coffee in central London. Would never go back.
