Terrible chips not fresh 2 nd time had this happen used from previous opening I expect dry crinkled and tasteless come on don’t be that tight you can’t afford to lose customers reheating chips

Well just called into Harnham chip shop an ordered some scampi I don't know what it was but it was definitely not scampi some really cheap rubbish no taste at all so if you want ripping off go to this chippy

Terrible, chips were not fresh, looked and tasted like they had been reheated. One bite out of the Jumbo battered sausage and that was enough ! Curry sauce had no flavour. It was also very over priced. This is the second time I have been there and it was also awful the first time around. Overpriced , will not be returning again.

Food not cooked to it's usual standard! Burnt sausages, cold, hard chips and very bruised. Not great quality at all! The Scampi seemed to be cheap and frozen Scampi! The only hot food was the reheated curry sauce! Disappointed, especially as they are usually good here but this time, we couldn't even finish our food!

Overall quite good, however the chips were quite disappointing - not sure if they were stale or not just quite cooked right, but they were very firm and didn't really have much salt and vinegar. Unfortunately most of them went uneaten. The cod, however, was huge (even for a large) and perfectly cooked, very tasty! the Sausage and chicken wings were great too! Would have been 5 stars if the chips were as good as the rest of the food, and if the order was delivered on time.

We have never had a good experience with this place, we only go back as it’s local but this will be the last time. Chips are never cooked properly, hard in the middle with black spots on the outside and over priced for what you get! I would not recommend.

When you cook food for people you want it to be edible for the first thing, both of my savaloys was cut open to cook witch made them rock solid hard and taste burnt.my chips were freezing by the time I got home and was also dry and tasteless. I will not be returning and will not be telling anyone else to eat here either, the place looks as if it’s been sat abandoned for years and someone just opened and started cooking. If I get ill, it will be from this food. Do not recommend even if your starving.

This used to be a really good chippy but recently and especially today I would not have even given it to my dog as I paid for it it had to be eaten. Absolutely disgusting chips were hard tasted like they have been reheated fish was absolutely tasteless and covered in Greece

Walked in to get food couldn't smell anything being cooked actually asked if they were open nothing on show not 1 person in there or waiting gentleman said he cooks everything fresh when I said no thanks he looked disappointed I might be wrong but sighns were not good

Cheesy chips were immaculate, loaded the cheese which I loved and overall very good burgers and cheesy chips, would defo recommend

Good takeaway. We always use them for the train station Friday night fish and chips generous portions.

we tried Cod and chips for the first time from Harnham Fish Bar, and it was solid! The service was helpful, delivery was super quick, food came piping hot, payment was easy, and the delivery person was friendly. Overall, it was a perfect 10 out of 10 experience!

Waited hour and 3/4 for dry food. No answer on the phone. Very poor

No idea as says it was delivered at 7.30…. No sign yet and restaurant hung up when called. Have to leave review time so ok 35 minutes late so far…….

Food quality is always good from this eatery! That said the menu says the fish burger is not just a fish cake in a bun - unfortunately, it’s just a fish cake in a bun! 😂

The food was disgusting. The fish didn't taste anything like cod; I don't know if it just wasn't fresh or if it was a different kind of fish but it taste nothing like cod. Everything was cold because it was an hour later than stated. We ate some chips. That's all. A small portion of chips would've cost me £3, I paid £28 for this food and we can't eat it. I want my money back.

Sorry no pic, good customer service and food was lovely. Had medium chips, onion rings, battered sausage, steak & kidney pie and a saveloy. Chips were for 2 people but could've served 3 or 2 adults and 2 children. Cooked to order, nice and hot. Just over £18 we paid. Needs must as didn't have time to cook.

Ordered an hr b4 delivery time then anouther 20 mins after that . Was charged 50p service charge yet it was a delivery and 10p for a very thin bag . I never asked for a bag so that was a rip off and I never sat down in a restaurant to be charged a service charge . The food turned up cold which makes me think very dis organisation going on . Not a happy customer at all

Tasty food especially the sausage

This is a relatively safe bet when it comes to fish and chips, not too often you get a bad one, occasionally the chips might let it down. Jumbo sausages are good the savaloy is not to my taste (worst I've had, overcooked maybe dark brown instead of the usual pinky red). My main complaint is that I'm repeatedly missing items from the loaded fries section, be it standard ingredients of it or additions when I order this.

Food lovely just ashame it took so long to arrive. Would use again but probably pick up instead.

We have just bought 3x fish and 2 portions of large chips. Literally fish was soaking with oil , horrible and sickening. Chips were not fresh either,mixed with leftovers and saturated with oil. Bad experience today and waste of money.

Situated a few paces from the One Stop, the Harnham Chip Shop is the most technologically advanced takeaway in Wiltshire, conveniently close and has friendly staff. Lovely Fish & Chips, thanks!

Chips really dry, tasted horrible, like they were old. Wouldn't use again.

Chips were over cooked, dry & very tanned. The fish was cooked nicely although very pricey for the size. Not sure we will be ordering from harnham again.

I’m wondering if this place is under new ownership. We have ordered many times from here and it’s always been very good but the last 2 times have been shocking. Food bland and Luke warm. Chips hard and tasteless and the pie had no sauce inside all n all very disappointed

After waiting 2 hours for my order, the food was naff at best, won’t be coming here again.

The food is ok, good fish which was tasty, the chips were all stuck together, I think they have an issue with the slicer as they were not separate. The person serving was terrible, very poor customer service and very misogjanistic! The way he was openly talking and degrading women to a random guy that I have seen in there regularly was disgusting! I won't be going back to be served by someone with this attitude and moral values.

Wow, if I could give 0 I would. We used to order from here with no issues whatsoever. What has happened? We ordered fish and chips as a treat with costs of everything so high at the moment for delivery. The order being a battered sausage and chip and a burger and chips. Took an hour and half, when it arrived the food was cold, chips inedible and everything drenched in soggy grease. Being pregnant I certainly wasn’t eating this! And just to add salt to the wound the whole order cost almost £30! I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy! Pizza for dinner it is!

I stopped here on the way back from Odstock Hospital, visiting a relative, very well priced, polite friendly service. Even after a 15 mile drive home was still piping hot, I believe this may be my new regular haunt.

Poor, terrible hygiene. Fish came with hair on it + I don’t see staff cleaning stuff up. Should be closed like the Indian Bar with how bad the hygiene is.

Ordered battered sausage and chips and I got food poisoning.

Food came 30 minutes late even if pre ordered day before. Had to reheat some of order due to length of time took in transit.

Chips were under cooked. Half the pie filling had leaked out. The chicken burger was ok but could of done with more lettuce and sauce. Fish cake was nice as was the can of tango.

Soggy mushy chips. The batter on the fish tasted weird and was not crispy. The only thing nice about my meal was the tartare sauce and vinegar.

Order turned up hour and half after ordering. Missing item in delivery called them and they expected me to meet the delivery driver outside. I told them to collect my full order and issue with full refund this place has gone way way down hill. Never again will I get anything from here

Poor food, poor attitude to complaints, poor customer service. I was delivered an old piece of cod, it had hard batter that crumbled and was completely dry, it wasn’t fit for my dog. please see pictures provided. Please do not waste your money here.

We had fish and chips from here before and it was OK. Mistake on Friday night.... Very late deliver. Chips ok and decent portion but fish just mainly batter not much of fish. Its a shame. It used to be better.

I ordered at 1940, delivery time firstly said 2015, then changed to 2045-2105. I tried to call the takeaway but it appears the phone has been cut off. Food arrived at 2040, not very warm and with £5.25 portion of Scampi missing. Again, I was unable to contact the takeaway.

I was really disappointed by the portion sizes today! I usually order a small chips and it feeds three of us, so today for four of us I ordered a medium… It only fed two of us!

I’m afraid our fish & chips were not good. The batter on the fish was rock hard and the chips consisted of basket scraps. Previous meals were of a good standard but alas not tonight.

Such a shame. Used to be a regular customer when I lived in Harnham, seeing they're on Just Eat, I didn't hesitate to order. All the food was cold on arrival, pies were crushed, scampi was crushed & stodgy and everything was swimming in grease. I know a lot of the menu is deep-fried, but it doesn't have to be swimming in grease.

Before ordering, the waiting time was listed as an hour, which seemed a long time but we ordered anyway as we were in no rush to eat. It then went up to an hour and a half once ordered and didn’t arrive for two hours in the end. Nothing from the driver regarding how late it was. The food was not redeeming, chips were tough and tasteless, fish full of bones and covered in really horrible, dry batter along with the sausages. Even the curry sauce was watery and flavourless. I would assume this must have been an off day as otherwise they wouldn’t still be open. Will not be ordering here again to find out
